Kin had been very new to the academy, having recently enrolled for this semester, and in this frame of time, she'd found herself learning a number of basic things. Math. How to read and write. After all, Kusagakure's academy was just as much a regular school as it was a place to educate the future generation of ninja. Coming to the class, she was always grateful for the chance to be educated. Never taking the classes for granted. Approaching the desk of her teacher, the cute little girl rests a plum along it, plump and juicy, before she moves to sit along the front. Her smile was a quiet one, lightly kicking her feet back and forth as she was curious on what would be in their lesson plan. It was nice to be away from home.

When she didn't have to help with chores and other tasks, she got to be in this new place and bond with other kids from all sorts of backgrounds. Kin might not have been the most outgoing child, but she hoped she could have a few close friends that she could grow up with. Though enough of that. Class was about to start soon wasn't it? When their instructor came in, her voice would call out, likely alongside many other students. "Good morning sensei! A call of unison between the students of the academy. It was kind of interesting that he looked to be about as old as some of her siblings were.

That familiar class smell filled his nostrils as he had walked into the academy room that day, taking it all in with a sense of nostalgia. He hadn't been on the other side of the dynamic for long, and it was likely strange for many of the parents that someone still technically a Genin was even being given an opportunity to be in such a teaching role. While many of the other classes focused on general studies, he was, as he appreciated, more of a shinobi focused teacher which was certainly a mixed bag. Many of the students were overly energetic as they anticipated learning jutsu, throwing things, swinging weapons, any number of things they assumed they'd get to learn, but Azusaki found himself patient enough to deal with them as he wasn't so removed from the environment not to understand their excitement. He still felt it even in his own training, but he only had a limited amount of time so he had to get their attention and get started.

His eyes watched every student filing in, watching as one of them put a plum on his desk, smiling kindly towards the girl who did, thanking her with a bright smile as he took it and began to roll it around in his palm as he stood up. Apparently that was more than enough to grab their attention, thinking he'd have to say or do something, but they were all glued on him with both eyes. Raising a hand, he smiled as he walked outside for a moment, murmuring to someone, as he walked back in carrying what looked to be a target dummy you might find out in the training yards, but as he sat it in place and turned around, he was welcomed with a chorus of kindness and greeting.

"Good morning to you all, as well. We have a special guest with us this morning."

Bowing towards his students he turned and gestured towards the target dummy. His name was already written on a chalk board behind him, as he gestured towards it as well.

"My name is Jūryoku Azusaki. I understand this could be a difficult name for some of you to pronounce, so feel free to call me Azu Sensei."

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a blue marker and stepped around to the other side of the training dummy, giving it a pat on the chest.

"Today we are going to talk about something that is the basis for all of these jutsu and special abilities you will be using in the years to come, something some of you might be familiar with; Chakra. Don't worry though, we'll get to the fun stuff"

Pulling the cap off of the thick marker, he began to trade a line from the palm to the chest of the dummy and all the way across to the other hand, from the chest to the head, and then back down and making a large colored in circle at the stomach, before moving down both legs.

"We won't start with the super boring bits, but the thing to know about chakra is that we all have it. It flows in our body like these blue lines, resting most strongly in our bellies."

Leaning back he patted his belly making a loud thumping sound, drumming off of it a few times.

"We use this chakra in our bodies to power all those cool jutsu you've seen and heard about. I understand some of you already know how to mold your chakra and even use it, but a show of hands, how many of you know a little something about chakra already?"

Listening to the man introduce himself, as Azusaki, or Azu-Sensei, she found herself looking at him drawing along the training dummy. Kin as a budding young warrior in the Hono clan already knew a bit about chakra and its workings, probably about what the academy would lecture. However, this was the first time she got to actually see the circulatory system at work. Lines leading from across the arms, to the chest, and head, and the pit in the stomach. Kin found herself enamored, and would begin drawing a picture for herself with a pencil, the outlying visage of a man, and tried to mimic the lines as best she could. Somewhat poorly though. She wasn't an artist.

However, when he asked for a show of hands, Kin would raise her hand, likely alongside a number of other students coming from clans, assuming they bothered to participate at all. Kin knew a good bit that she probably would assume is common knowledge. However, she was fascinated about its workings, and how the chakra could be utilized for the practices of jutsu. How it differed between people, and how people had a vague element they were more inclined to. It was all really fascinating, and she imagined that there was so much more. People could probably study it all their lives.

Little Kin seemed very relaxed and interested in the lecture topic. What more could he teach?

As he scanned the raised hands, some were no surprise, having recognized some of them as he'd seen them with their fellow clansmen, nodding as he made note of each. There were some that didn't raise there hands that equally surprised them, but perhaps it was just a matter of not wanting to participate openly in whatever was happening, which he made a mental note in a different sense they certainly wouldn't be fond of in the future. Reaching for a clipboard on his desk, he had made notes of those that he would be teaching, and after a bit of looking over the names he made a gesture to allow them to lower their hands.

"More than half of you, that's good."

Finally he sat the plum he had picked up earlier back on the desk as he walked forward, looking around at a few he had seen raise their hands, but stopped in front of one student in particular, smiling down at them.

"Kin, Do you know any jutsu by chance?"

He made sure not to stand over her as not to make her nervous, already looking around the room at others he noted raising hands, so not to simply stare down at her. She was certainly one of the younger students in the class, and he was curious what she knew, as if someone her age could explain even something small, it might go a long way in helping the others understand from her perspective compared to his.

When she was called upon, Kin found herself looking upon her instructor and nods her head. "Hai! Azu-Sensei!" She says with a charismatic smile. Taking the liberty to grow a little self conscious though of the others, she deflates a little, as she twiddles with her finger. "I know a little. I know how to do all of the academy jutsu." She says, as she looks up at him with a sheepish grin. It might be hard to believe considering the circumstances. What with most people learning the more advanced aspects of being a ninja, including those ninjutsu when they reached a higher level. However, she was a clan child after all.

Hailing from the Hono clan with its martial traditions, perhaps it meant she had a high aptitude for jutsu such as that. Taking the liberty to remain quiet, she'd let him continue on his lecture or move on to the next points. Brushing her hands along the desktop, she found herself already on a quick path to becoming a potential Genin. As of now, she'd been deeply interested in more lectures as well as learning elemental chakras. Especially as she hoped to be more useful with a variety of techniques. Though. It did seem a little bit far off. All things considered.

While Kin only knew five jutsu? Wasn't that an accomplishment? She almost knew as many jutsu as she was years old. That had to be something right? Better than knowing none.

"That's perfect!"

They were most certainly in the category of academy jutsu for good reason, so this was the exact thing he was looking for. Stepping back a bit further, he made a motion as if inviting her to come with him to the front of the class.

"Would it be okay if I asked you to come and demonstrate something for us?"

He tried his best to give her plenty of room to move at her own pace both literally and metaphorically, wanting her to feel comfortable to do something that he wasn't sure she would have voluntarily otherwise. It would have been likely effective enough to start showing these academy jutsu she mentioned, but he hoped that having the students themselves doing them could show that someone of a younger age and lower rank could pull them off. This was all about inspiring confidence as well as teaching, as without the confidence aspect, they might not ever feel comfortable to try themselves.

"Anything you are confident in, it would be a great help to your fellow students."

Looking to the class he tried noting those who were paying close attention, and once more those who weren't.

"Perhaps afterwards I'll show something as well."

Looking towards Azusaki, she felt herself shift somewhat uncomfortably. Namely because she'd never been asked to display something before a lot of people before. When she found the spotlight on her, she looked at everyone, and she felt very...small. Smaller than usual, as she slowly made her way up, and began to twiddle with her fingers. He asked if she could show them something? Taking the liberty to look at Azusaki, she nods her head. "H-Hai." She says, hoping she didn't mess up in front of everyone. It was a lot of pressure. Forming a few short handseals, she calls out.

"Henge!" With a poof of smoke, she turns into...none other than Azusaki himself. With his silvery locks and his shining eyes. She smiles in the henge, and was hopeful that she got his clothes down. A few minor details off probably, but then again, she'd just seen the man less than ten minutes ago. "Well...If it'll be of great help. Then I suppose it's my job as a teacher to provide demonstration." Smiling, the Azu-Sensei double gives a smile and flashes their smile at the students before them. They hopefully did a good job as passing as the real deal.

Before the transformation is undone, and they poof back into their small form. When they do, they slowly shuffle a little to the side. Then a little more. Before hiding behind the dummy. Her shyness took over. It was one of those jutsu that she didn't use all too often, but was incredibly useful for reconnaissance and gathering information.

Grinning at her sudden demonstration, turning into himself no less, he tried to mimic her facial expressions then gave her a large thumbs up from both hands.

"That's pretty good."

Raising up his hands he turned to her and gave a wink, as he did much like she had just done, except in reverse. He was now the spitting image of Kin, throwing up a peace sign towards the class. As she undoes her transformation he does the same, both of them now back to themselves.

"Great job!"

Stepping back a bit as she treated, he reached back and ruffled her hair before moving forward again, quickly trying to get the attention back to himself as he realized her shyness. It didn't exactly like being the center of attention either, but he knew sometimes you had to do for others, even if it meant making yourself a bit uncomfortable.

"So, as most of you know, this was the transformation technique. Quite simple, and a great tool for Shinobi not just your age and rank, but for those much higher rank than myself even. You could hide in plain side, infiltrate in places you shouldn't be to gather information, trick someone to let their guard down, and any number of things."

Raising his hands and quickly forming three different signs, a puff of smoke appeared next to him, as well as a second Azusaki.

"By performing hand seals like you saw from Kin earlier and me here, we are able to create different types of jutsu. Different combinations for different jutsu, some more, some less. In this case..."

Holding out his arm towards the clone-

"I've created a basic copy of myself. Kin demonstrated for us how to transform into someone else, and this is not so different in that you can use this for all sorts of things as a shinobi, no matter your rank."

Walking back and putting his hand on Kin's back, he motioned forward and tried ushering her back to her seat.

"Give her a kind applause everyone, she was very brave and helpful."

Kin found herself looking over the dummy to see Azusaki continue the lecture. He began to explain the academy jutsu in more detail, namely their purposes and usages. Showing off the Henge and Bunshin respectively. The two most visually impressive of the jutsu. As a hand comes to caress and rub her head, she shuffles for a moment in place, and shyly giggles. Before making her way back to her seat. A few claps were made for her, but when she came down to sit next to her fellow students, she blushes at the notice. Though she's momentarily snapped out of the moment when she feels a small bounce on the back of her head. A little eraser.

"Teacher's pet." One of the students call out in a hushed whisper, when they think Asuzaki isn't listening. "Thinking you're real smart because you know the academy jutsu already don'tcha?" She would have protested, but she found herself flushing with a sense of embarrassment and shame, not really know how to tackle the situation. She'd never really been bullied like this before. Considering she'd been very sheltered, and this was her first time in school. It wasn't the same thing as an older sibling leaning on top of your head, or taking a piece of your fish. Or maybe a little mean spirited prank, or startling you at the end of the hall.

She slowly looks down at her desk and puts her head down. "What a dumb haircut." Absentmindedly, she brushes off the insult as best she can. Which wasn't all that great considering she began to tear up as her cheeks flushed hotter. All in all, children were cruel creatures. They always lash out in moments of weakness.

It might have been a whisper, and perhaps if this was a more noisy arena, or out in the open where the noise was dispersed into a large area, but sound bounced off of all the chairs, desks, and walls nicely right to the one at the front of the class. His eyes shifted slowly, and anyone still watching him would have caught the stare, and how his eyes momentarily dilated then retracted as he focused on them. Every time he saw someone lean over and make their snide remarks he made a mental note, and by now he had made more than too many of those on the same few students.

With a surprisingly quick movement, he reached into his pouch behind his back, and with a few quick flicks of his wrist, and a little help from his gravity control, there were shuriken embedded, rather deeply, into the desk of every single student that had taken it upon themselves to make a comment.

"Shuriken are one of many tools in a shinobi's arsenal, used for obvious offensive purposes, but sometimes they can be used as a means of distraction-"

He paused as he walked closer to the class, looking at every single student he had targeted before continuing.

"-or to grab the attention of someone quickly."

Slowly, methodically, and with a stare that could melt glass, he glared at each of the students that felt they needed to act out, as he walked around and retrieved his shuriken.

"One day, if you graduate the academy, you will be placed in teams with one another, and you will have to trust someone in this class room with your life. Think about that the next time you intentionally hurt someone's feelings, and how they might react if they had to then stand up for you tomorrow."

Walking back to his desk, he opened a draw and pulled out a few pieces of paper, walking back to each student that he had targeted earlier, slapping the paper on the desk of each one.

"Those of you who have the time to harass others clearly know enough of this lesson to take a quiz on it. You'll write out in your own words every jutsu considered academy level in our village, and explain detail their uses, and you won't leave this classroom today until you do. If you miss one, if you copy off of someone else, or if refuse to do so, make no mistake, I'll be talking to your parents and guardians."

Walking over to Kin, he ruffles her hair again, then puts a hand on her shoulder.

"Each of you in question will also be writing an apology letter to Kin, and if you don't, you'll be spending all of your free time with me for the next month in detention. I will not tolerate bullying in my class room."

In those next moments, Kin found herself alarmed, as did other students as Shuriken sank into the desktops with thunks. Real Shuriken by the seem of it. It was in those moments that Asuzaki showed his own wrath as he spoke out against each of the students. She found herself looking up, and with it, as his hand ruffled through her bowl cut mane, she feels tears trail down her face as she tugs on his sleeve. "P-Please don't get a-anybody in trouble cause of me." She says, wiping at her eyes and sniffling. "I-I just want people to be my friend."

Her chest rose and sank as her breathing was a little shaky, looking up at him with those soft honeysuckle eyes as her fists ball up, and she seemed to feel so bad about getting people into a bad situation. However, she grew concerned about his own potential wrath next, before she looks down, her fingers twiddling together. Kin didn't know if her teacher was going to get upset with her too. Perhaps he might think her pure and innocent, a good heart for not wanting to cause trouble for anyone, even those that might be a little mean spirited. "C-Can you let it go?"

Azusaki's reaction was certain one, at least initially, that could be seen as overreacting, but that was also part of it, intentionally. He wanted to shake them out of their silliness, and he had seen just enough to know that this wasn't how shinobi in the village should be treated each other. It reminded him of those kids messing with his cousin when he was younger and how he hadn't reacted to stop them, and how guilty he had felt for not stepping in. What he hadn't counted on was Kin's reaction, and it reminded him of the young shinobi he was dealing with here, and he softly sighed.

This was also a bit of who he was, instructor or not, and perhaps he had to pull some of that back in this environment, as his eyes scanned the room. Looking down at Kin, he stares, for a long thoughtful moment, and gives a pat to her shoulder.

"It certainly wasn't because of you. Some people just feel the need to be rude to others, to cause trouble for others, and you were an unfortunate target of that. They have to learn that's it's not okay."

Yet again he sighed, as he walked up to each of the students, making sure to stop and to give them each long stares, as he picked up the paper he had sat down one by one, then quietly walked back to his desk, opening the drawer and slid them back inside.

"Those of you addressed earlier, you can and should thank Kin. This time at least, your punishment has been cancelled."

Hearing her words one more time, he walked back to her and gave her a soft nod, but made sure he could be seen up close by everyone.

"You are not off the hook entirely, as you will be meeting the head instructor after class today for detention. Going forward, I will not tolerate troublemakers in my class. You should all be thankful for this lesson Kin has taught us today in forgiveness and patience. She will no doubt make a great shinobi one day as well as a great teammate."

Jealousy was a powerful thing in children after all. Kin was here in a brand new environment, with brand new people, and she was fearful of how things were going to work to an extent. Azu-Sensei explained to her that it wasn't her fault, and that her fellow classmates just needed to learn that it wasn't alright to pick on others. He was very kind to her, and with it, she felt some of the tension in her heart alleviate. Looking at him hopefully that he'd show some mercy to the others.

"I-umm. I just want to be nice to everyone." She says shyly, and with it, she proceeds to slips back into her seat and tries to restore her sense of enthusiasm. She wanted to focus on learning and becoming a better ninja, and she wasn't so used to the praise. Kin had hoped that her classmates were pacified, despite the groans that seemed to come about. Of course, there were always some that were going to hold onto that negative feeling but the ideal was that they could grow alongside one another. That they'd be able to become close friends. One thing was for certain.

She respected Azusaki's authority and viewed him as someone that she should listen to, revere, respect, and otherwise pay heed to. So far, he'd made a very strong impression on her as a teacher.

Despite compromising with this situation, he knew well enough not everyone he had pointed out was going to suddenly listen, or even behave in the future, but now they had his attention. He was far from a cruel person, anything but in fact, but what he was more than most was a strictly protective person. As an instructor, and during this time, he was in charge of everyone in this class and was invested on helping them grow, but he would never waver in making sure everyone was equally praised and equally punished if need be. It was simply how he was raised, and if the students were out of line in the future, no doubt they'd see that protective side of him come out once more.

Making his way back to the front of the class, he grabbed the training dummy and moved it aside, grabbing some chalk and began to write and badly draw. Upon the board now were three stick figure shinobi next to each other and a larger version above them.

"When you graduate from this academy, more than any weapon, item, or jutsu you can learn, the most important of tool of all with be your teammates. You will be put into squads of three with a higher ranking shinobi leading said team."

Turning and drawing a large circle around the four, he turned toward the class and took his time speaking once more, making sure he had their attention first.

"No clan jutsu, power in your blood, katana, monster you can control, or fireball you can throw will ever equal this."

Tapping the chalk on the board it made dots on each of the three members he had drawn.

"Some of you think you are the smartest here, perhaps you think you are the strongest here, but once you walk out of my classroom after graduation, you'll find there are many smarter, many far stronger, and those of you relying on yourselves will find the value in those teammates to pick you up, have your back, protect you."

His eyes surveyed the class, pausing each time he spoke, finally sitting down the chalk.

"You'll learn quickly that you can't be friends with everyone, you can't make everyone like you, but friends aren't about how many you have, but how good those friends are. Quality over quantity my mother says, and it's true with everything in life. Would you rather have ten dull kunai or one perfectly made katana?"

Looking at Kin for a moment, he looked like he wanted to speak, but then stopped, turning around, and pulling the training dummy back in front of the chalk board, but closer to the middle of the room. Walking over to his desk he pulled out two kunai and pointed one at Kin, then one at a boy sitting at the very back of the class. Lightly throwing the kunai towards them, they stopped with the use of his gravity control, gently landing in front of both of them.

"Can the two of you please pick those up and show me, while staying seated, how you would hold that weapon properly. Don't worry, this isn't a right or wrong answer situation."

Once they'd grab the kunai they'd realize they were practice weapons, made of rubber, unlikely to be able to even bruise someone without seriously working to do so.

His speech that he gave out was important, and at least for Kin anyways, she listened to it deeply, and tried to keep in mind every word. That team work was going to be the absolute most important thing. That it didn't matter the jutsu or the skills, or the talents, or the items one had. That it was important to build those bonds, but that it wasn't possible to do so with everyone. Kin knew one thing for sure though. She didn't think she was the strongest, or smartest, or any of those other prideful traits. Funny considering she came from the clan that embodied a lion's pride. It would be one's teammates that protected. Kin could agree wholeheartedly with that.

Looking upon him, she looked towards him with great focus on him as he walked towards his desk. When he threw the Kunai outwards, she found herself scrambling, and immediately grabbed her notebook, looking to hold it up between herself and the throwing knife. Only for her to look and see that it never came. Instead, lightly landing atop her desk. Looking rather surprised at what she just saw, she slowly takes the knife in her hand, and slowly smooths her hand along the side. Rubber. He asked for a demonstration of how to properly hold a weapon. In which case, Kin found herself taking the weapon and standing up. Moving towards the front of the class again, sheepishly.

Putting her finger into the rubber hole, she finds herself rotating the kunai twice around her hand, before then holding it firmly in a reverse grip. Her shoulders were squared, and her stance was solid and grounded, not too far spread apart. Her legs were slightly crouched, and with it, she finds herself recalling how it was one of the first things she'd learned. The blade was level with her chest, and she sought to make herself look small and compact. "Like this Sensei?"
