Naruto: Fallen Blades' Sixth Semiannual Chuunin Exams!

Before the Exams begin there are a couple of things that need to be established.

As of the posting of this thread the chuunin exams registration is actually still open! Instead the closing of the exam registration will be after the first exams completion. Due to this the first exam will

From this point till the end of the exams the participants won’t be allowed to buy any more jutsu and will have to make due with what they have currently. However jutsu in training prior to this thread will be allowed be used in the exams.

As far as the additional SA goes, if you didn't have it prior to this thread, then it won't be able to come into effect later in the exams. Same goes to those signing up later than the initial exam.

Each exam presented will be conceptually quite different. Posting order will vary per exam test and be explained separately below in following posts. The first being placed shortly after this thread, it'll come with an exam introduction. This introduction will be a spectated event, so after introducing the shinobi and setting them off on their own adventure, it'll be televised to the crowd every shinobi's full journey.

Takigakure Exams: First Exam

The First Exams are officially beginning today! If you've posted in the "Starting Grounds" then you'll be having a thread started specifically for you. It'll pertain to the number your character draws and be linked within this post below, so if you haven't posted in starting grounds get to it! Expect a thread for your exam to start later that day or the day following, at which point I will be adding it to this thread. So you can just keep checking here for your link, if you're unsure where to find the the thread or identify it.

The posting order of this exam is pretty self explanatory, it's a one on one thread, so you'll be given a scene and have to write a reaction to it. You can't post till I post, but don't worry about my usual post rate. You'll be entering a maze which has already been designed fully, so my responses to your actions will be quite scripted.

There's two goals within the challenge presented to all the genin participating. The first is to complete the maze as a show of wits or a keen mind. The second will be to do so within the shortest amount of time, as to show how quickly your wits work, as well as to help back possibly physical prowess. Though it has been made clear wits is what's at test this first exam, a mental aptitude is necessary of a chunnin.

Takigakure Exams: First Exam Results & Second Exam Information

The First exams of the 2018 winter exams are complete! Thank you all for reading and writing into this adventure. It went well a lot longer than planned, so I really do appreciate all for their patience and acceptance of the situation. You've however all made it through the first exam and thus deserve a score for your efforts, this will be the first of three scores and the combined total will determine pass or fail. Don't worry if you didn't score too high, there are still two more exams to complete.

The scores will be based on six factors; Placement, whether or not you were first or last out of the maze. Clues, whether or not you solved or utilized all the clues presented. Tools, whether or not you used the maze and any items within it to help escape it. Strategy, whether or not you attacked the maze with some sort of plan in mind. Deduction, whether or not you saw through the false hints and or broke the puzzle of the maze. The final factor which will be used on all grading's is purposely left untold.

The results of the first exam follow;
  • Our first contestant out of the maze will be Adachi Miho, she took only one wrong path to discover the way. Score +22
  • Our second contestant out of the maze will be Nohime Ouritsu, he managed much of the maze on luck alone though. +18
  • Our third contestant out of the maze will be Omori Reiki, he was barely ahead of the fourth contestant. +17
  • Our fourth contestant out of the maze will be Kyokujitsu Asahi, he was last due to back tracking and extra thought. +17

If you have any questions about these placements or their scores forward them to me via PM. However with these now passed, it's time to move onto Exam 2! This exam will take place in two threads and essentially be a race, but unlike the last exam it'll be done in teams of two. Since there are four of you they'll only be two teams, each will have their own thread. Below are the teams and their threads linked when posted.

Team A: Adachi Miho & Kyokujitsu Asahi - RUNWAY ONE

Team B: Nohime Ouritsu & Omori Reiki - RUNWAY TWO

Posting order will go me, then the team. This will continue until the end of the race. There will be one round of posts at the start of this exam not dedicated to the race. It's in this very brief window, you're to introduce yourselves and maybe try to assist one or another. Threads should be up by today, but the race won't officially start till Friday.

Takigakure Exams: Second Exam Results & Third Exam Information

The Second exams of the 2018 winter exams are complete! Thank you all for reading and writing into this adventure. It went well a lot longer than planned, so I really do appreciate all for their patience and acceptance of the situation. You've however all made it through the second exam and thus deserve a score for your efforts, this will be the second of three scores and the combined total will determine pass or fail. There's only one exam left, so try to keep that in mind

The scores will be based on six factors; Placement was your team first up the tree and if so did it do so with a grand lead. Teamwork, this was a challenge of teams and thus using the asset of another player plays big. Preparation, apart of being a shinobi is being prepared for the worst were you prepared for this exam. Strategy and Delivery, was there a plan to each level and was executed well with clean results. Ability, did you have abilities or jutsu and did you use them properly to contribute to the end result. Similar to the last exam the final measure has been purposely left untold.

The results of the first exam follow;
  • Our highest scoring member this race goes to Kyokujitsu Asahi, his team won the race by a marginal amount and largely due to his preparation. +25
  • Our second highest scoring member this race goes to Omori Reiki, despite not winning the race his team wasn't far behind and most plans were devised by him and executed to the best of his abilities and preparation. +20
  • Our third highest scoring member goes to Adachi Miho, her teamwork and abilities were well displayed, but ultimately overshadowed by her teammate +17
  • Our third highest scoring contestant in the race is Nohime Ouritsu, performed well with his teammate and likely only missed a higher mark due to his placement as a part of the 'losing' team. +17

If you have any questions about these placements or their scores forward them to me via PM. However with these now passed, it's time to move onto Exam 3! This exam will take place in one thread, it's posting order will be based on characters speed, as well as the conditions of the exam effecting their speed and need to reaction. Since this is subjective after every post rotation I will re-announce the posting order, do not expect it to remain the same every time.

As for the subject of the exam I will bring you the very bane of 2018's gaming world, you'll be participating in a free-for-all battle royale. What this means is none of you are allied and all of you are out of the same goal, survival. You'll be starting on an elevated platform, obviously since you're in the tree branches now. This platform is split into rings similar to a bulls-eye archery target. These rings will be falling off the main platform as time proceeds, if you're on a falling platform or leave the main platform at any point you've lost this round of the exams.

Victory is achieved merely by staying on the platform the whole time, but losers will still receive points based on time survived. The drive behind this will be the fact more points are given to the winner if their are less winners. Ideally someone will want to be the last man standing, but technically all participants can survive the whole of the exam.

Takigakure Exams: Final Exam Results & Promotion Information

The Final exams of the 2018 winter exams are complete! Thank you all for reading and writing into this adventure. It went well a lot longer than planned, so I really do appreciate all for their patience and acceptance of the situation. No one however made it through to the actual conclusion of the exam. Which isn't the best look, but it also was a possibility which came true. This doesn't mean you won't pass the exams, as it'll be total points which push you to the end.

The scores will be based on six factors; Progress; you'll be graded in part on whether or not you made it to the end and how far you made it. Position; were you the first to be booted or were you the last? Not being booted would of been the pinnacle of points here, but no one made it that far. Strategy; did there appear to be a plan to make it to the end, were the steps taken the best to achieve the desired end result. Teamwork; as some of you probably guessed early on or near the end, a part of survival was based on your guys willingness and ability to work together. Deceit; due to the conditions of the exam and fact none were actually of the same team, it was hoped and expected some moves might be made to prove your competence over the others participating. As always there's a final factor which remains untold.

The results of the first exam follow;
  • Asahi would not only tie with Ouritsu in position, but as well in points, as they'd both fall at the same time. However Asahi would of proven more strategy than Ouritsu +23
  • Ouritsu similarly tying with Asahi would share the spot light of longest survivor with the sand shinobi. However he'd prove the necessity of deceit and thus prove cleverness in another field. +23
  • Reiki though falling before the last contestants, would do so with only one less ring survived. On top of that where he'd not prove all fields, he'd be the highlight for most during the reveal of the fifth opponent. +21
  • Miho prevented herself once from falling and though not engaging the fellow genin, her inability to act with them caused her to show few qualifications. Frozen by combat or indecision, this round left Miho nothing but the points for surviving the first two rings fall. +3

If you have any questions about these placements or their scores forward them to me via PM. However with these now passed, it's time to move onto whether or not our contestants passed the exams. Clearly none made it all the way to the end, but for point acquisition all did an admirable job pooling points the first two exams. Which would leave the final exam to pass or fail them, a passing score for this exam determined by above average performance. Means to pass one must have scored a 56 or above across all exams.

Asahi likely making Sunagakure proud, as he'd score well above the threshold at 65 points.
Reiki and Ouritsu, just going above the margin will pass, but likely be treated as average chunnin with their 58 points.
Miho under performing in the last exam will likely bring shame to her home of Konohagakure, as sits 16 points under passing with 42 points.

Thank you all for participating and I hope all who observed enjoyed.
