Mission Template Moment Music Had Arashi done so much that she was perhaps pressing the patience of the village itself? Honestly, the young female didn't think that most of what she had done to be without reason. Granted, she did tend to bend rules when they did need to fit her needs. As well as perhaps skirt through some of the many restrictions that were held against her. Granted, they were not without reason. Arashi wasn't so blind as to think that despite her growth, she wasn't a target. If being the daughter of the Kazekage didn't make it so, her being the One Tails certainly added to it. But, in all the time she had managed to get around that, she had never found herself in a position such as this. After all, she was a Specialist Jounin, if she couldn't handle situations, why even promote her? Though Arashi would never have expected anything like this. "So..why are you coming along again?" Looking over her shoulder, Arashi would note the lanky shinobi at her back, his demeanor somewhat disheveled, but still it had been quite the trek to get this far. He was around Arashi's age, if not a year older, but his light brown hair seemed to hold what looked to be a few strands of white in there. Perhaps from stress, she imagined. But then, perhaps being a shinobi wasn't exactly something he was meant for if it left him so distort. In hearing her question, the young man would look at her, clearing his throat while finally speak. "Well...it would seem that this was a mission that required more than one operative and...it was decided that since there were few volunteers interested in the assignment, they asked if I would go..." "That so?" Believing that he may have upset her, the shinobi would then wave his hands from one side to the next. "That..I mean..That..isn't to say that no one wanted to do it...it is nothing but a great honor to assist the KazeKage's family! I couldn't be happier with such an assignment and I would never make it seem that..." "Tatcoma….You're here because my mother asked you to be here aren't you?" Tatcoma would grow silent, his eyes shifting to the side, holding up a hand as he began to speak. "Well...her and Kuroki-sensei..." "I knew it! I fuckin knew it!Why!!?" "Well...they believe that you shouldn't be going so far outside of the village without an escort...you are one of the village's last lines of defense and your father happens to be the Lord Kazekage...You can't honestly assume that you should be venturing out on your own..." Arashi would roll her eyes, clearly annoyed by this as she had a good idea where the straw was that broke the camel's back. "I do one thing...SHE WAS THE ONE THAT ASKED ME TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT!!" "Perhaps...but did you happen to tell anyone that you were leaving?" Tatcoma would wait for her answer, leading to the teen growing silent as she answered. "Well...No!...But whats the point of being a shinobi if I need to be watched 24-7?! I happen to be an adult! Not a child!!" Arashi would release a breath, mumbling as she began to walk further ahead. "Oh...yes...lets give her more responsibility! But...lets also keep her on a leash..just to be safe!" "Arashi!...Wa..wait!" Seeming to climb up a steep hillside, the short haired female would soon see the village in sight, her eyes narrowed as she began to note the more ominous surroundings. Dark barked trees with creeping like branches, almost appearing as if dead. Then there was a smell, so odd and out of place. Much as if there had been a pack of wolves nearby, but leaving nothing to really give such an opinion. As Tatcoma finally appeared at her side, he's gaze would stare out to the area, placing one hand on his hip with a blank expression. "This is the place....Roen.." Passed a eighty-eight torii, the landscape that laid below them held very little signs of life. With the small remnants of local activity, along with wooden structures scattered in what seemed like a walled off section, what Arashi could note more accurately was the fresh smell that waivered through the air, mixed together and construing within her nostrils in an attempt to be identified. "Is it deserted?" "No...there are people...just..scattered.." Arashi would kneel down close to the ground, eyes narrowed before releasing a breath. Whatever was going on back home, she'd deal with it then. Right now, the mission came first. That was the one thing she always took seriously. It was imprinted from training, to her studies, to what she told her students at the academy. Any and all thoughts that were outside of the objective was to be tabled. That was how you made it back home... "Give me a run down again of the village.." Tatcoma would release a deep breath, his eyes closing with his arms across his chest. "Rōkoku no Sato….The Howling Wolf Village..." "Catchy name..." "It is known for its medical capabilities. But before that, it was the home of the Kodon Clan. During the war, it was also known for having a small shinobi force that was often hired off to other countries. For a brief time, it was considered as a Hidden Village..." Arashi would think on this, opening her eyes as she then looked over at the young man. "Was?" "In it's infancy, one of it's clan had created a powerful weapon, Blue Fire Powder...it had been used as a means to keep Amegakure at bay when they attempted to assimilate their village...Much like Iwagakure tried to do with Sun.." "Still not answering my question..." Tatcoma would blink, rubbing the back of his neck as he bowed his head in apology. "Sorry...well...the weapon worked and it was then believed to be so successful..that they grew confident in it's ability to defend them. It was sold, brought profit, and eventually they wished to discontinue all means of military action within the village completely...conform into a neutral position" "That just sounds stupid...not the neutrality part..but..not having an army?" "Reports state that the powder itself is capable of quite the explosion...strong enough to level areas within seconds with exposure to moisture. Consider that when it comes to Amegakure and it's form of distribution and it's ability is immeasurably devastating. One wouldn't even know they were exposed to it until it were ignited..." That was more than enough to but some concern on the teen's expression, eyes growing somewhat wide as she began rise up, scanning the area. Were they within it now? Was is possible that this was the mixture of scents that she couldn't understand? "So I gather not everyone was on board with it?" "No...there was division...still is...but these strange attacks have been creating a far worse situation for them to continue to debate on their position within the world..." "Right! The monster..." Arashi would place on hand inside her pocket, the other hanging at her side. So they were dealing with a village in the midst of political change, being threatened by what could be a monster, but could plausibly just be an underhanded means in which to keep the village within the grip of it's own militia. Even Arashi had to admit that this was a lot to take in at one time, but still, the smile on her face had yet to fade as she held a toothy grin upon her face. Honestly, this was probably going to be the high-light of her day, but still a mystery in itself was still that. A mystery... But for now, it was time to proceed with the actual operation. Starting with getting to the village itself. "So who's our contact?" "A member of the Kodon Clan actually...Kodon Kagura...they wanted us to look into the attacks and to find the collating cause. Though, we need to cautious. Not everyone is a fan of the military still being active, or of people from other nations getting involved in their affairs.." In nodding her head, Arashi would look over toward Tatcoma, her smile fading as she then adjusted the hood over her head. Yet, she imaged even that would hardly be enough to hide her identity, her dark tone making it a challenge to keep her origins secret in any surrounding. So what was the other option? Tatcoma seemed to look away, the girl turning around as she began to make her way behind one of the few trees close by, her hands reaching toward the hem of her shirt as she began to pull it upward. This was enough for the youth to turn his head, eyes shifting to the side as he then began to speak. "What are you doing?!" "I can't very well go down there as Oonakayama Arashi! Best case, they'll recognize me from the Battle for Village Supremacy, worst case they'll know I'm the daughter of the Kazekage…" It took a moment for the girl to work out her appearance, her eyes closed as she began to pull out a long lengthy amount of bandage tape, wrapping it heavy across her chest, feeling the binding cross the surface of her skin. This would leave the young man still looking away, hearing the sound of tearing and grunts as his supposed companion seemed hard at work in changing her appearance. Before long, she'd emerge from the cover of the tree, brushing her now longer hair back, along with appearing much more trim chested than she had been prior. Before long, she'd reach down for her traveling pack, closing her eyes before taking hold of Tatcoma's headband, stripping it from his person before then placing it into his palm. "Shall we?" In that, the teen would once again make her way forward, leaving Tatcoma stunned briefly before he finally managed to pull himself together to give chase. Sometimes it only took a small bit of change to an appearance to fool anyone. Honestly, despite her having some practice in shifting her own appearance, it was a natural ability that every shinobi possessed. Without or without the jutsu to back it up. The hair had been a bit of a challenge though, doing her best with what she had and honestly allowing her sand to do much of the shift in her appearance. Though she imagined that it was never really meant to take on such a task, already hearing the more than mocking tone of Shukaku in the back of her mind. Still, for now, using it to keep from recognition was clever. Tatcoma would soon catch up to the teen, walking beside her as they passed beneath the Torii, soon coming upon the village and its less than active status. A village lost to dreams While most places would be in much more of a bustle at this point in the day, what the two saw was perhaps quite distressing. Stands abandoned, store-houses open, yet with no one moving in and out of it and what looked to be a never-ending corner with people seemingly adrift. The haze within their eyes making it look as if they were indeed dreaming, blissfully unaware of the two strangers as they moved by. "Guess you weren't kiddin about these guys having little concern about trouble..half of em look as if they've checked out.." "I wouldn't think thats too far off...I have seen this kind of display before..but never to such a degree.." Raising her brow, Arashi would adjust the strap of her bag, looking toward the short haired male with a serious expression. "Where?" "Don't you remember? In the outskirts of Sunagakure…" Arashi grew silent for a moment, recalling the state of the damaged area of the village. It had taken some time for it to fully recover, but during that period of time, the village was in very much a state of depression. It resulted in a lot of different reactions, some simply letting themselves be lost in ignorance, others giving into anger, and then...there were people like this... Closer inspection, Arashi would stop by one such individual in a mindless state, his arm extended outward as the girl would see a small puncture wound near their veins. Narrowing her eyes, the girl would shake her head. "Yea...now I remember..." It didn't need to be said, both of them were aware of the condition of this man. Still, what kind of threat would make people retreat into such a shell? Clearly, the answer wouldn't come from anyone around here. "Let's keep moving...The Kodon clan temple should be just a bit further...they will be expecting us...but we should continue to remain discreet.." The vision of the Kodon temple was a sight that was almost regal. It's setting behind the sight of two cherry blossom trees, petals littered across the ground. There appeared to be an older female waiting at the front, her hands held at her back as she saw the two strangers approach, robed figure straightening up before she began to shuffle directly toward them. With the two finally reaching the wooden steps of the old structure, she'd bow her head politely and extend her hand in a gesture for them to follow her. If the majesty of this place wasn't already apparent from it's outer appearance, within held even more royal history that reflected the status of this founding clan. The Kodon had built the Howling village as their own, established it, helped it grow. On the walls were gathered images, paintings that seemed to tell the story of their journey to these lands, symbols and relics of their past adorning pedestals at every corner. Arashi could only think that her father would be over the moon in seeing such pieces, prompting her to make a mental note to ask more of them once this was all over and done. With their path being guided, they'd soon arrive into a large hall and within it would be a young man. His age was likely around that of someone within their late thirties, some traces of silver hair around the edges of his face. Though their presence was known, the clear head of this temple would not address them. Not until he had waved his hand in dismissal of their previous guide. Though once they were alone, his icy blue gaze would finally turn to them. "I thank you both of coming as you did...The Sunagakure Militia is favored to be the most disciplined of all the shinobi nations...and I imagine that the Kazekage took great care as to choose the best among them in fulfilling this task. Bowing their heads, the two would then watch as he began to make his way over to them, eyes never leaving as he then held his arms close to his side. His garments were made of fine silk, shaded red and blue, yet crossed with a milky blue hue. "It is our honor to be of service to you..Lord Kodon...and it is our hope that we will be able to assist.." "Oh I have a feeling that you will...though I imagine that your efforts will still not be enough...which is why that I beg for the continuation of our own shinobi forces..." Arashi would tilt her head to the side, her hand soon resting upon her hip before raising her brow. "So are we assume that your people won't be helping in dealing with the Mon..I mean...conflict.." Lord Kodon would hear this correction, prompting him to stare at the teenage female, almost as if scanning her for something. Noting this, Arashi would shift her gaze a bit, hoping that perhaps this man wasn't figuring out the truth. Yet, soon enough the inspection seemed to end, leading to the lord answering at last. "Sadly, our forces are on hold...they will act if they are called upon. But not in the force that would be required to deal with this...thing Tatcoma would raise his brow, eyes narrowed as he began to suspect something was indeed wrong here. But for now, he would simply remain silent. "Perhaps you can..clarify..exactly what it is that is causing the village such dismay...Lord Kodon…" With Tatcoma silent, Arashi took it as the best time to understand more details. The village lord seemed to allow the silence to linger further, the two young shinobi keeping their gaze upon the man before then finally hearing his words as he stared directly toward them. "There has been some conversation that it is indeed a monster...a beast that lingers within the deepest part of the surrounding woods..." "Conversation..not actually accounts?" "As I am sure you have become aware of, our village is currently in a state in which any eye-witness accounts of these attacks come under speculation..much of this due to many of this statements coming from individuals not in the right state of mind..." "Yeah...we..noticed...what exactly is up with that?" Lord Kodon expression grew grim, his hand resting upon his forehead before closing his eyes in dismay. "It is a drug called Saigenzai...it is capable of granting its users release through placing them within a state similar to that created from usage of Genjutsu. It dulls all the senses and leaves the user euphotic..." Cupping her hand beneath her face, Arashi would then narrow her eyes as she held a frown on her face. Yet, it appeared that this wasn't all that this drug was capable of. "The original creation of this drug was to help our shinobi deal with pain and suffering from war and the struggles of life as a shinobi. But, currently...with the military in recession and now this talk of dismantling them completely, it is being used as an escape for many...and its abuse has been seen to cause death to some..." "If that's the case, then why not ban it?" "We have...the problem remains the same in the fact that we have a shortage of individuals that can enforce this ruling and many of them are the very abusers that we are seeking to stop..." The brunette was prepared to continue this line of conversation, though Tatcoma was quick to interject as they weren't here to handle a drug epidemic. "In any case Lord Kodon, I believe that we were on the matter of why you have no real accounts on just what it is that is troubling the village..." "This is the matter...due to the mass number of individuals left in such a dream-like state, they're senses and wits have been numbed to the point that they can't say just what it is..only that they felt as if their energy has been drained from them..." Arashi would continue to keep her hand cupped beneath her face, her eyes looking downward. It drains chakra...that could be just about anything... Doubtful...it clearly is targeting this village specifically...and it isn't doing enough to make it seem as if it were intending harm...otherwise it would be more messy.. The One tails wasn't wrong, and that could be a number of things. Of course, There wasn't enough evidence for her to make a claim of knowing anything. Not to mention that while she did suspect it to be a creature or a demon, that didn't make it so. Especially if they couldn't get a creditable witness. "Okay...so...with what you do know...When does this..thing actually appear?" Lord Kodon would place his arms within the cover of his robes, gazing out toward the wide framed window, his head nodding in it's direction. "During the night..." There was still some time before the evening, though that didn't mean that they wouldn't need to prep for whatever was to come. "Guess we better get started then...We'll do what we can to resolve this..." "I wish you luck...and thank you.." With the two bowing, they would prepare to make their leave, only to be stopped suddenly as the village lord would speak once more. "While I know that it should not need reminding, your actions in the village this evening need to remain as covert as possible...I would not wish to create a panic, nor alarm the village of such a danger...No matter how much it may turn a blind eye..." In heeding him, Tatcoma would look over at the long haired teen, proceeding to move to the exit of the hall, leaving the older male to himself. As the doors closed behind them, Arashi would lean in close to her companion, her hand held up as if to keep her words private. "Lord Kodon clearly has a rage boner against them lacking an army..." "True, but I would imagine that such feelings are more toward the threat that this village is in...and the lack of anyone wishing to investigate it. His hands are tied, which is why he probably sought out shinobi assistance from other lands..." Arashi would cross her arms over her chest, nodding but still unsure. "Something just doesn't feel right..but..then again..this whole place makes me itch..." Emerging from the temple, Tatcoma would place one hand within his pocket, eyes narrowed before speaking to the Suna princess. "We should begin recon so that we have a better lay of the land...it will allow us to keep from anyone getting hurt within the village and we can find out exactly what it is that is causing all this..." "I'm tellin ya...its a monster..." The young man would then release a breath, finally closing his eyes as his vision narrowed. It was easy to forget that despite the one year difference between them, they weren't at the disadvantage of one having more knowledge than the other. Not to mention, as far as Arashi was concerned, she didn't want to be recognized as the Kazekage's daughter..not here anyway. "Why do you continue to say that? There isn't any proof.." "Call it a hunch...that and did you ever see the 'Demon At Dusk'?" Tatcoma would raise his brow, his expression blank before finally shaking his head as the young girl continued. "Seriously? It's like one the last great motion pictures that Sugu Teno played in! It deals with him fighting a land filled with chakra draining flesh demons! Their actual name being a reference to.." Arashi would then grow silent, seeing Tatcoma's confusion before clearing her throat and relaxing from her sudden dive into fandom. When you were to perform reconnaissance, you made sure to gather as much information from your surroundings as possible. It could easily be done a number of ways, to scouting the environment, to gathering intelligence on your enemy. In the case of Tatcoma and Arashi, doing both was perhaps the best attempt at having an understanding of just what they were going up against. The fact remained that while people may have developed the conclusion that this was indeed the act of a demonic creature or beast, there had been no evidence or enough reliable claims to make it so. Though, that didn't stop the Suna Princess from believing it... Honestly, Tatcoma could only watch as she attempted to put this idea into reality, his own efforts to mapping out the village and it's many exit points. There were only two ways in and out of the Howling Wolf Village, each marked by an torii. If it had been a creature, there would be visible damage done to the surrounding area. But none such marks existed. Which meant either the beast was friendly, or someone cleaned up after it. With Tatcoma seeming continue getting the lay of the land, Arashi would just talk to people. It was strange that she was the one doing that, considering her history in such areas. But, it was an operation and it required knowing just what the experience was of those involved. For one thing, she was making sure that they were at least aware shelter, her intent not to scare them, but to keep them..safe. Lord Kodon wanted to keep this all discreet, so that made it difficult when to try and relocate a lot of these drug hazed strangers. Half would simply lay limp against the walls, others simply refusing to move when poked at. It was as if the world around them was so lost to sight, they were blindly inviting this danger to attack them...maybe they had been? As the coming dawn drew closer, Arashi would finally meet with her companion on the roof of one of the structures, her eyes narrowed before releasing a breath. "These people literally need a good kick in the ass..." "I take it convincing them all to take shelter was a waste of time?" "It is when I can't tell em why...best I could do was at least make sure that some of them got into a halfway house..." With the young man nodding his head, he'd look over at the teen beside him, noting how she seemed rather annoyed at this. "You don't seem too happy about that..." "I don't know anything more about this thing..that scares the hell outta me...all we know is that it attacks at night and likes suckin on chakra from people..." "We'll get a visual of the problem possibly from here. Theres no other possible means for whatever this force is to get in or out...not without one of us seeing it..." Arashi would close her eyes, soon placing herself within a cross-legged position as she relaxed. "Then I basically take care of it..." "We..take care of it...the point is that we work together..." "Using myself as a beacon can get it out of the village...then I just need to seal it and we'll be done with it..." "You keep saying it! As if it is only one thing!" "Because it is!" Rubbing her temple, Arashi would then calmly speak after releasing a soft breath. She understood what it was that was going on here. Tatcoma was used to having a lot of operations run in a coordinated fashion. It was part of his training. He was also here because they didn't want her to do anything outside of the village alone. This was her mother and father's wish. For someone to be watching her back. But then, she could imagine a few other reasons in which they'd want him to tag along. But in truth, she wasn't much of a team player. It likely came from the fact that her history with teams were limited on how long it took for them to break apart and how unreliable they could be. A lot of the time, it was due to her not really getting the point of it, and when she got into it, they didn't last and she was once again on her own. She didn't trust many people to watch her back, and when it came to her own safety, she was confident in her abilities to keep herself alive. "Look...nothing against you...but I can handle this on my own...just back me up if it looks like I'm in trouble and we'll be all good..." Narrowing his eyes, the young man was ready to debate, but soon saw that the sun was almost set. This wouldn't go well unless they worked together, and he'd think that the daughter of the Kazekage would realize this. More than that, that Arashi would understand that he was there to help this village as much as she was. "Just trust me..." "How when you can't do the same?" "Because I'm the one with the chakra reserves..." A smirk crossed her lips, soon jumping down to the ground, standing at the entrance to the village as she soon began to see rustling within the woods. It was still far out, but something was definitely coming. Tatcoma soon landed beside her, frowning as he shook his head as she began to move forward. "This is a bad idea...we should have a plan to better handl…" "This is the plan..I draw him out and then seal it up!!" Arashi seemed to snap at him, but that didn't stop him from following after her. "We still don't know if IT..is only one!" Allowing her disguise to fade, her short hair returning to it's natural cut, Arashi would then summon her Curse marks into life, their symbols crossing the length of her skin. "Its one! I can smell it now!...It's unlike anything I've ever smelled in my life!! Like..a mix of wet dog and a cat...Its..." The ground soon began to shake, prompting the girl to waver, and Tatcoma to do the same. Before something began to show itself. A massive head showing itself, it's fur dyed a dark shade of blue, crossed over with a feline like tail toppling over a row of trees as the head flashed with fangs that were sharper than any animal she had seen, and eyes matching that of a tiger. With claws similar to one of her canines, Arashi could only look on in shock, shaking her head before backing up briefly. "Massive!!" "This isn't just a monster..its something completely different!!" Twisting herself to the side, Arashi would soon allow her body to take on a sudden burst of chakra, wind surging around her as if to erupt into a hurricane. It was enough that she'd seem to draw the beast's attention, it's orange glare held upon her before it began it's slow creep, much like a predator. "This might make it a bit more challenging..." SPOILER: Click to show -S.A Used- Enhanced Smell Somehow, Arashi has gained an enhanced sense of smell. It appears that she’s been hanging around dogs for too long and has obtained a sense of smell that rivals that of a blood hound. In reality, she has simply discovered that by channeling some chakra to her nose she can enhance the cells within it and gain a super sense of smell that may act as a sensor and tracking technique. She can smell out strangers, steel and various other things. Arashi may retract her chakra from her nose as well to make her sense of smell return to normal. Due in most regards to her heavily enhanced sense of smell, With her continued usage of this ability, she has now become capable of near passively monitoring the exact range of a target and their positioning within 250 meters. (Able to turn "off and on" this enhanced sense at the 'prick' of chakra to her nose) Ichibi Curse Seal The only ability Arashi has competent control over, this is the ability to utilize the curse seal marks over Shukaku’s body for her own bidding. Arashi can will the seals to cover her own body and control them to form various seals to preform fuuinjutsu from her own skin. As such, she can summon weapons she has sealed within them and rearrange the seals to be able to perform various fuuinjutsu that she has knowledge of without scrolls by using her own skin. She may also seal items within the curse marks and rearrange them to perform an unrelated technique before reforming them to summon the item at a later date. Chakra Shroud [No Tail] Arashi goes into her chakra shroud form very easily. In fact, she’s almost always in this form. The sand that constantly protects her is a sign that the form is always up. Rogue Arashi would stay in her position, seeing this creature as it seemed to tower over the two, it's beastly nature taking a whiff of the air, eyes locked upon the short haired female, knowing very well what laid upon the wind. The odor of what it craved so deeply. Hungrily, it would release a echoing roar that very well should have awaken the village, but yet it's state remained as it had been within the day. Only Arashi and Tatcoma seemed aware of it's presence now...or so it appeared... With it lunging, Arashi would allow herself to focus chakra to her limbs, propelling herself to the side as Tatcoma moved in the opposite direction, avoiding it before it came crashing into the torii, causing it to collapse down upon it much like building blocks. As the red tinted wood rolled across the creature's back, it's tree like arms would seem to rotate, rising up upon it's hind legs while shaking free of any possible remains. Such a delay did very little to deter it from it's path, prompting the two shinobi to look toward one another. "Remember what I said about it being just like in that one movie?" "Yes?..." "I take it back..." Releasing yet another call, the fanged creature would soon make it's charge, prompting Arashi to dash along the surface of the ground, soon propelling herself into the thickness of the wilderness to draw it from the village and causing any further damage. At the very least, she could manage to occupy it's time. As though she were upon ice, the wind would allow her to float, her speed increased while darting between trees and bushes. All the while, she could almost sense this thing right on her heels. Turning back, she'd realize just how close, eyes wide before doing her best to focus on getting more distance. All she needed was a proper clearing, somewhere far enough so that she didn't have to worry about anyone getting hurt. Then..she could seal this thing and that would be the end of it. Her wind techniques are powered up to be strong enough to level a small section of a forest. The user doesn't seem to be levitating unless under close inspection which they seem to be about 1.5 - 2cm off the ground. Even Arashi was amazed at how this beast was keeping up with her, seeming to tear through the foliage before it, prompting her to keep moving to keep out of reach. Closer and closer it seemed to draw near, heavy panting, but no indication of slowing down. It was as though it were nipping at her heels, each propelled step barely keeping her ahead. But there was hope...and just was ahead of her. Glancing over her shoulder, the Suna-nin could see her pursuer, but after leaping forward, taking to the air briefly before having a better look at what was ahead of them. A clearing...grassy, but it would be enough. Not to mention the room and space would allow for her to have a proper area to keep it still and out of any possible view of those that could pass by. If Lord Kodon wanted this to remain hush hush, Arashi would do what she could to keep it that way. Though she imagined that the sacred torii would take some explaining... "Perfect...." Landing down, Arashi would drive just barely out of the way, his jaws snapping in attempt to yank her right up into the air, only catching air as it stumbled forward. This was all the space the girl needed to dart ahead, coming into the opening as her feet slid across the field. Time was of the essence, and she could already hear and even smell this thing coming. With her curse marks still closing, their dark tint seeming to ascent her skin as they crossed over each other, the shinobi would swiftly let the seal of "Construct", across the surface of her palm. Then, much like a tree that is sprout. A single blade of grass....If this thing wasn't actually smart...the creature would charge right into it. Then it would just be a matter of keeping it there until the seal was complete... "Come on....." While it was only a few moments, for Arashi at that moment..it felt like an eternity... The pounding of her heart seemed to take up much of her audio, but she could see it coming. Its body plowing through the trees, creating early lumber for this village if they ever came to collect it. Eyes seeming to glow with such a light that she could swear that it were purple dead lights. Charging forthright and keeping its focus on reaching a target. Arashi couldn't imagine just what it was that it could see, or what it's vision capabilities were like, but if it were like any other predator, it was strictly on it's need of survival. Though so far, she hadn't see it do anything in terms of draining any Chakra from her, or perhaps it was simply that it needed to be within a correct distance to do so. But with her trap set, it was only a matter of waiting for it to cross the line of no future and then securing it. Though something was wrong...suddenly the rumbling of movement seemed to have ceased. There was no other sounds, but the odor of the creature still lingered in the air. With Arashi still trying to see what it was trying to do, her eyes managed to pick up it's features. They were on the very edge, purple glare still holding upon her. "Come on...just..come forward...just.." It was at that point that it would seem to send something whipping against the wind, leading to the teen barely noticing it until something tripped her line of sight. Tendrils, created by chakra itself, yet moving at speeds that seemed near impossible. They'd surge with momentum that could be shared with lightning, leading to the shinobi narrowly making it out of range. That was when it surged outward, Launching itself through the cover of it's previous location, chakra like hair flying like whips in the air. It moved with such force and range that the teen had no choice but to retreat, her body swaying from one side to the next, only to be stopped as they combined in assault, prompting her summon forth her sand shield in defense. "Shit..." Though managing to protect herself, something was slowly trying to draw out her chakra, causing the strength of her sand defense to start to fail. With Arashi having taken this conflict into the woods, Tatcoma was left behind...dumbfounded at such rash behavior. As he prepared to rush in after her, he'd stop short of the damaged gate, looking over toward the tower of Lord Kodon in the distance, the sign of light at it's highest floor flaring much like a beacon. Perhaps it was his way of showing support, but still..it seemed odd for a man who was attempting to remain behind the scenes. His brow furrowed, the young shinobi would return to his previous line of thought...making sure the daughter of the Kazekage didn't get herself killed. --------------------------- Battling the Beast Breaking away from this beast's tendril like appendages, the teen would jump back, watching this monster seem to come further out from it's corner. That was all she needed, for it to come closer into the opening, closer into her laid out trap. But, she had to be sure to avoid this monsters grip, especially when it came to those liquid like lines. They felt like ropes, trying to hold on to her and take every last bit of her chakra from her. Gotta stay on my toes for this one... Her eyes would remain trained on it, watching it move in with a roar. Then it happened..the trap snapped, seeming to swiftly take hold of it's limbs as Arashi clapped her hands together the moment that his position was clear. The blade of grass would seem to erupt, branching out six black lines that would begin to draw itself around the creature's legs. With it's struggle to keep itself within this plane was obvious, Arashi could see it starting to be dragged into it's new home. Perhaps for the rest of it's existence. But then, something began to happen..the seal would start to show signs of breaking, leading to the dark haired female looking in shock and horror as it would start to break out from the lines that were to hold it at bay. "No way!" With an earth shaking howl, the grip would let go, prompting it to lash out as Arashi was sent flying backward, her back hitting the trunk of a tree. The impact was enough to topple it with ease, leaving the Suna-nin to slowly rise back up, just to barely roll out of the monster's path with it barreling toward her. "It broke out...how could it actually have broken out of that!?" Her eyes still wide, the girl would take note of a strange marking resting just beneath the surface of her attack's fur, one that appeared as a seal. It was already bonded to something... Seeing the tearing of her outfit, her gaze could only stare at this thing, the realization prompting her to shake her head. "I can't seal it..." Fear was an easy result of the realization that she couldn't simply put this creature away. It meant that another path had to be taken, and she honestly wasn't sure which route that was. Still, she had little time to allow intimidation to take hold. Not with the job that was still left to be completed. It was clearly being controlled, or at the very least summoned by someone close by. Though did that mean that it wasn't as mindless as any animal? Seeing it rush forward, Arashi would manage to get into the trees, her body darting along their branches. Yet as she looked behind her, she could see it simply barreling through. Tree after tree falling at her back, the teen would continue to keep her distance before turning herself around. Performing a hand-seal, she'd allow the natural element of Fuuton to flood through her limbs. This prompted her to flip herself backward, her hand landing upon the thick branch and soon pushing herself upward to keep in her stride. Yet, her act had not simply been as a means of escape, but by design. As her previous platform collapsed downward, it would land to the ground and release a thick cloud of smoke from it's sealed imprint. This was enough to draw the beast, it's vision turning toward the sudden reaction, snarling as it would find nothing but a haze to block it's sight. Along with it losing the brief flicker of the target that had gained it's fierce assault... Having managed to lose it, if not for the moment, Arashi would linger only a few feet away, her body held up against the side of a tall oak. Catching her breath, it's release and inhale as silent as possible, she could hear the howl of the creature as it swiped and gnarled at anything within reach. It was struggling to find her, and that was the best stroke of luck she could have managed at that moment. The sting of her injury burned at her, but she couldn't very well rest on the small victory she had managed. The marking on the creature meant something far more than it being controlled. It meant that someone was purposely releasing this thing upon the village...and already she had a lingering feeling she knew who was at fault. Battle Music Piecing together the answers at this point, it would do very little to aid her upon finally smelling the beast's odor as it suddenly appeared at her back, jaw's appearing to try and bear down even through the very bark of the tree. Arashi would soon reel back, her frame once more on the move, eyes narrowed as she could see it once more in pursuit of her, this time drawing closer and closer. Eyes glowing, the teen finally stopped herself in mid-jump, her hand waving to the side as she summoned her sand barrier into being, prompting the field to slam directly into the clear hungry creature. But as she seemed to hold him, his body not able to pass through such a strong resistance, something began to happen. Her sand was starting to grow weaker, it's shape losing focus, as if the very life to it had been taking away. Arashi herself was starting to feel weaker, looking over to see something glowing at the heart of the beast, seeming to grow brighter as it then faded. "The hell?!" With her barrier drained, the creature had no trouble continuing it's attack, body rushing into the young girl as it knocked her to the ground, seeming to carry her across the area with her leg between it's teeth. Dragged across, her head hitting the rushing surface beneath them, she'd bear her teeth down as she attempted to pull herself free, only to find the monster tossing her to the side, causing her to spin before impacting with the earth beneath her. Arashi was in worse shape than ever, feeling the blood trickling from her forehead, her leg badly injured. She didn't have any ideas, and from what had happened, it felt like the beast had only gotten stronger from before. But then, it had just drained her, so it began to become much more easy to understand what was happening. Not that if mattered, as she'd probably be dead in the next few moments anyway. Seeing it rush to her position yet again, Tacoma would appear next to her, drawing out a smoke bomb and a tag as he through both down in the direct path of the creature. Surprised by this, the beast struggling once more to gain it's vision, the young shinobi would turn to look at Arashi, seeing her condition as he placed his arm beneath hers, helping to hold her up. "Come on! We gotta go!! That said, the two would seem to vanish as they would begin moving through the woods, only to hear the fading howl of the monster as they grew further away in distance. SPOILER: Click to show -S.A Used- Ultimate Defense A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike. -Jutsu Used- -Items Used-
