Plans, half-formed or not, were completed and the groups were ready to begin their travel into the labyrinth. Some were not in complete agreement or completely satisfied with their positions. Only time would be able to tell if they should have spoken up or if keeping their ideas quiet was a good idea.

On the red team, Sugita brought up the front of the pack. With his shield raised, he was ready to defend the front of the group and give them some defense in the labyrinth's confines, providing a first line of protection. After him followed Taro, ready to draw attention if he needed, and behind him was Akihiro.

Akihiro moved lightly, creeping like a cat, eyes darting around. He seemed almost paranoid. Despite his ego, maybe he would be good at this whole thing.

Bringing up the rear of the team was Hinata, who had hidden himself within the snow and become invisible. It allowed him a good defensive position to warn his team. No one would see him.

On the blue team, they adopted a different strategy. The two groups split up, deciding to take different directions through the winding labyrinth of the hill. Jun went with Kouki and Sango went with Tsuri, their group's skills split two different ways between bukijutsu and heat.

Sango allowed Tsuri to pick which path she wanted to travel.

The groups travelled within the labyrinth for a minute without running into each other, navigating tricky halls with a stiff paranoia.

Eventually, Akihiro would pause and whisper to the group - "I hear someone close."

There were three paths ahead of the red team. One directly straight, one to the right, and one at a left diagonal.

For the blue team -
Whichever duo had taken the LEFT PATH would approach from ahead of the red team. Whichever duo had taken the RIGHT PATH would approach from the right of the red team.

How would the groups clash?

There is no set post order.

Any person hit with two snowballs will be out for this round and may return in the next. Out players may still advise their teammates.

Once a team reaches the fortress, if they can hold onto it for two rotations, their team will be declared winner.

Tsuri's goal first and foremost was to make it to the fortress because it was the objective of the game! She could make it much easier on her team if they had some sort of tactical advantage after all. She figured Sugi-Rin was going to bulwark his team which to her meant snowballs were unlikely to be useful. So the idea was to stay low and leap ahead even if it was artificially. Looking to Sango as they had originally gone to chose their path she had chosen to lead them down the left path. Very much winging things on the fly, smiling all the while cause this was fun.

"I think its best if we get to the fortress first Sango-Senpai! I don't know your friends, but my Onii-San is really good at shielding stuff... so I don't think we have a way in if we wanted to if we don't get there first," She would explain as she moved. Soon her vision would come to a fourway intersection, even being the slowest of the present shinobi, it didn't mean that she was necessarily the dumbest or anything. Lifting Hakuegei so that it was above her to the left she would cast out the large fishhook sword and the blade would stretch out to the corner of the tunnel to her right finding purchase on the wall and digging in she would use the retraction of the blade to force her forward faster. Hakugei rubber banding her around the corner. The snow cover hopefully having left her out of view as she half-charged, and half-slide around the corner into the tunnel and kept moving forward. A wave to her Senpai to follow her further in. She figured this was best.

'Cast my fangs to any place my lady! I shall always make sure to do as you deem necessary, but do move fast. The young master is close.' Would come the cheerful voice of the old man that was Hakugei inside Tsuri's mind. She was having too much fun here, but when would she get to go Ice-fishing... that gave her an idea.

Hinata would pause at the back of the pack when the slightly egotistical one on the team whispered about there being someone up ahead or rather that he heard someone. It was kind of vague, unfortunately. That wasn't a good thing, was it? He couldn't tell yet. But he was invisible and would look towards the paths presented before them. He would move quickly up ahead without being seen. He would take note of who was at each stop.

Then he would return to the group, presuming that they had remained in their spot after the warning. Hinata would whisper then. But he was careful not to touch anyone.

"One grouping up ahead, one to the right. We can move left and avoid them entirely. Or engage."

He hoped that his words would be taken into consideration as he would become quiet again, he had spoken in such a tiny whisper that only his team would hear and with Akihiro's incredible listening skills, if Hinata could not be heard by anyone else, well he could at least be heard by this one stealthy paranoid teammate who could relay the message if it was needed.

Hinata would still himself though, waiting for a verdict in movement.

Taro wouldn't totally oppose the idea of them using a mobile shield. Even if it was about a persons space of cover, if you were good with watching angles, than victory would be easy. He had good knowledge of his own skills, he was one of the higher ranks in the event. So hopefully following along and playing by ear would work out, as they'd travel he'd make sure to scoop up snow and form his snow balls. As to be prepared for the future incursion, he thankfully didn't need handseals for much of his talents.

They'd travel unopposed until a fork in the road came with the sound of enemy teams. A route being suggested based on their rivals approach, he'd grin with a stretch as he prepared to bolt with the team to the path left. "If the other team is coming from a direction, it likely doesn't lead to the fort. So left seems good to me, I'll charge in first and draw attention if they jump us." Taro would insist, as he'd quickly rush out of the formation. Relying on his speed gained from the lack of his weights to attempt to beat their foes.

If he was out in time to encounter the hook and line reeling, then he'd swiftly toss a snow ball for the shinobi. Keeping his head tilted to keep both the forward and right pathways within view. Another snowball being grasped from his other arm. He'd have made as many as he could hold in one arm, then use the other arm to hold merely one and attempt his throws for only the closest of foes. If he needed to he could use his combustion step or skate technique to further improve his manuevering around the essential shooting range.

"Good to know," Sango said, slotting that bit of information about Tsuri's cousin in next to what they knew about the other members of the Red Team. "Hm, then if we encounter any of the opposition, let's focus on getting by, rather than getting caught up in engaging them." Proficiency in shielding might cause some trouble - but it also gave them an idea. Their young partner was quick on her feet - and quick with her fishing pole, whose hook Sango was starting to think was not a normal fisherman's hook - and she slung herself around the corner. Before following her, the chuunin took a moment to call up a rock clone, shifting their snowballs - of which they now had three - to the crook of their arm as they did so.

They darted out into the intersection, closely shadowing their clone, and was deeply grateful they did so as Taro was the first thing they saw. There was no way that they would be quick enough on their own to intercept any attack he made on Tsuri, so Sango did their best to distract him via launching their own snowball, aiming for a solid hit on his torso. His team was a little ways down the tunnel with a mound of snow cover, so they lobbed a half-hearted second shot - trying to get over top of the shield carrier - but they didn't wait to see if either shot would connect. Sango took a risk and immediately turned their back to follow Tsuri down the offshoot she'd been aiming for. They wouldn't look back, hoping that their clone would be enough to cover their back from any snowballs.

tldr: 1. Direct shot aimed for Taro's torso
2. Lobbed shot aimed for the center of the Red Team

Hours of practice and hundreds of repetitions with their jōhyō have given Sango consistent, bullseye accuracy with their strikes. They hit stationary targets ten out of ten times, and moving targets eight out of ten times; even those targets behind them are hit with the same level of accuracy, so long as Sango has a sense of their location through hearing or seeing them previously.
However, their level of accuracy drops slightly when channeling Doton chakra through Stone Tail, and sharply when channeling both Doton chakra and Hien jutsu through the weapon. They need to train and increase both their strength and speed in order to overcome this impediment.

Description:
Iwa Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu that utilizes rock to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Iwa Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. If the Iwa Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural rock state. It should be noted however, out of all of the elemental clones the Iwa Bunshin is the most difficult to destroy, often taking extreme amounts of force or raiton techniques to destroy it.

Given Akihiro's warning, Hinata was given enough time to scout forward under cover and return back to the group, giving them a lowdown on the positions of their opponents. He would note that Tsuri and Sango were coming from ahead and that Jun and Kouki were coming from the right, though those two were further back.

It seemed like something had distracted Jun and Kouki and they were not proceeding for the moment.

Given the advanced warning, Taro was able to dart out quickly, attempting to make it along the left path at the same time that Tsuri came sailing around the corner with her hook. That gave him a fairly direct shot as they both contested the more narrow tunnel.

What would Tsuri do to attempt to avoid being hit?

Of course, Taro positioning himself like that as a distraction put him in the open as well. Sango came around with a clone and a snowball, tossing one at Taro.

How would Taro attempt to avoid being hit?

The second snowball sailed towards the rest of the red team.

How would Sugita attempt to avoid being hit?

Akihiro ducked out from behind Sugita's shield, deciding that the slow and steady approach wouldn't bag them the win here. He grabbed a ball of snow in his hand and threw it towards... the wall? And then it ricocheted off, spinning in Sango's direction! It seemed like he'd tried to adapt the principle of the crumbling star technique. Sango would recognize him as a fellow bukijutsu user. It didn't go quite as he planned and the angle was a bit askew.

Still, as wide as the shot went, how would Sango attempt to avoid being hit?

Hinata was in a decent position, still hidden, and could maneuver freely to attempt to support the team. Would he help engage alongside Taro, or would he try to counter the distracted duo that might soon be coming from behind?

Tsuri was adapting rather well to this high pace environment, and while she was at a disadvantage if they had tried to fight head on, here she had the, at minimum, benefit of there being a handicap to what her opponents could do to hurt her. Even still she wasn't trying to get hit so easily. As she blasted around the corner Taro would move to try and intercept being the hotshot her was, but between Tsuri, and Hakugei there was little that she was scared of in terms of sudden jumps. Fishing was a lot like engagement in that sense, you waited and waited and then suddenly you were moving and struggling with a creature for survival. You or the fish; Tsuri chose herself without exception.

Twisting, and trusting Sango to cover her, Tsuri would spin and hop as she was dragged by her lifeblade further inwards, the metal seeming to stretch back out in an attempt to block to snapshot of a snowball. Tsuri would hopefully reach the end of her lifeblade quickly and it wouldn't be long before she would forcibly cast it back out and up to continue the dragging, "Sango-Senpaiiii, heeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!" Tsuri would call back as she continued her deadrush.

TLDR;
-Tsuri attempts to block the snowball by bending her lifeblade backwards while utilizing the Casting Technique with Hakugei
-Tsuri drags herself further in using the momentum behind her own leap velocity + Hakugei pulling her in
-Tsuri uses Casting again to continue the force forward momentum as soom as Hakugei's original cut in spot is made.

Hinata looked on when chaos erupted in the area, his eyes widened for a moment before he decided to take action. He was still hidden, so there was a good chance that he could escape the area. His team would need to defend immediately, but the left route was wide open to dash into.

So, using what speed and nimbleness he had to maneuver around the field and to dash off into the left away from the conflict for now. It seemed in truth, that backup was not necessary yet as everyone seemed to engage and things would end up being okay for the team. If help was called for, he could always high-tail it back and help. But he needed to utilize his invisibility first, so he moved.

To the left as quickly as possible, running in fact towards it hopefully being able to blast past the whole crew into the next area. Hinata's plan right now was to act as not only a scout but to also get ahead of the rest so that he could claim the final checkpoint for the team. It would give them an obvious strategic advantage to be higher up, and defending instead of having to be on the offensive later on.

"I feel we should avoid a fight, and move to the left for now. If that’s the only other route to go, then they’ll have to funnel behind us. If they split off while we’re here fighting, they’ll get ahead of us and pincer.”

Sugita halted their advance, his eyes shifting from side to side as he tried to better sense the location of the enemy team, but their vantage point didn’t make it viable. He quickly molded his chakra around the shield, releasing the stone in its center as it began to float upwards, connecting its vision with Sugitas. It seemed Taro wanted to just jump straight into the action, but they needed a better visual to play this out safely.

The Genin didn’t like how things were being handled so far.

Grey eyes spotted one of the shinobi from the enemy team darting forward, snowballs being shot over head. Sugita raised his shield, blocking the snowball from hitting anyone on his team. They couldn’t stay put for long. Sugita began to move forward, keeping his shield aimed forward but his back to the walls behind them, slowing working his way to the left but making sure that his team was well protected.

Hinata seemed to have the right idea by going to the left further, invisible to those around him he would be safe for now. Sugita’s main goal was to try and block off the left path so that they could secure the only way to the fort available.

Taro had more than enough testosterone to be taking this little event as seriously as a mission. Perhaps the foreigners couldn't see it, but hopefully after their last mission Sango knew. The look on his face, the tension of his muscles. He was determined to win this little contest at all costs, if Tsuri was truly capable of blocking his attack mattered little. The clearer threat to his attack would be the fire projectile, he was good at gauging a fires heat.

It was clear to Taro there'd be only one clear option to this problem, he'd purposely ignore the attack visually. He'd focus more so on Tsuri and let the rest be in his peripheral. That stated he'd use his skate and combustion step techniques to make a very fast drift into and down the left path. He'd purposely use the burst of speed to make it seem like what happened next wasn't intentional. At least that'd be the attempt in his maneuver, as he'd impede the fire projectiles path. Allowing the flame to scathe him before cremating to avoid serious injuries.

He'd grit his teeth wincing from the pain, but he'd continue after the academy student with his full speed. His full attention for the moment too, as he'd used the speed and the full skill of his body to as quickly as he could whip every snow ball in his arm at the back, side or front of Tsuri. Depending how well his jutsu could push him past the girl. She could attempt to block, but was she that skilled? If so, he'd just close the distance instead and physically slap the snow balls against the kunoichi.

Upon hopefully knocking one of their teammates out of the round with his fury. He'd turn to check on the expected 'battle', grasping his resent burns and painfully remarking. "Aye, what happened to not using offensive jutsu?" In an attempt to knock another potentially out of the round, like a soccer player faking an injury to get a flag thrown. He however was forced to take the injury, but he knew he was a nice bonfire from fixing it. This was truly nothing to the Nakajima. He'd shared far worst licks with his clan mates. He hoped serious repercussions wouldn't actually be taken, but maybe with his 'clever' tactics. He'd of just awarded his team with two opponents out.

He enjoyed fighting close up, so to better imbue his cremation to his form of combat, Taro has improved the force behind all his Nakajima techniques. Allowing him easily twice the packed power in each fire enhanced punch, kick or step.

Jutsu:
NAME: Haini: Ippo Ei [Cremation: Skate Step]

RANK: D-Rank

CHAKRA USAGE: Low [Very Low to maintain]

CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu

ELEMENT: Katon

HANDSEALS: 0

REQUIREMENT: Haini no Jutsu

DESCRIPTION:
Using a partial cremation upon the users feet, the user will negate most of the friction created by their feet. This allows them to seemingly skate across the ground. Similar to skates this is a more balance intensive manner of moving, it's typically best used in motion already.

NAME: Haini: Nenshō Ippo [Cremation: Combustion Step]

RANK: C-Rank

CHAKRA USAGE: Low [Low to maintain]

CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu

ELEMENT: Katon

HANDSEALS: 0

REQUIREMENT: Haini no Jutsu

DESCRIPTION:
Through partial cremation the user will turn both their feet into fire, as well as a most of their lower legs. The fire will be directed downwards, pushing in whatever direction the leg points. The force of this push is enough to give the user lift enough to slow a fall and hover a few inches of the ground with heat.

Sango saw the snowball ricocheting towards them - but once it hit the wall, their mind's eye saw the angle and dismissed it. And even if they hadn't ignored it, Jun had their back, with her flames used to make a creative defense against the snow. They smiled even as they continued to run towards Tsuri's yelp.

Later, the chuunin would have to compliment her when they thanked her. "Leaving them to you then!" they called back, before pouring on the speed with the help of a chakra-fueled Accelerate. "And it's not her fault you stepped into the jutsu like an idiot!"

They had one snowball left, and the back of their fellow chuunin's head looked as good a target as any. Even if he hadn't been playing sneaky tricks like that, Sango would have wanted Taro out of the game first from the Red Team; everything in his posture said he meant business in  a way that was slightly out of place in an event like this.

With their clone just a few steps in front of them and to the side, Sango slung the snowball at Taro's black hair. In the next breath, they overtook their clone, using it's shoulder as a springboard, to try and leap over both Taro and his shield carrying teammate to land at Tsuri's side. Then they would dismiss their clone and let it fall back into shapeless earth.

"Let's go, Tsuri-chan!" If they managed to get overtop both Red Team members, then they would swipe up some more snow quickly, turn on their heel and send it flying at whichever one of them was closest to them and Tsuri. Otherwise Sango would try and body-check one of the boys into the wall, hopefully causing enough chaos that a different Blue Team member would be able to escape down the tunnel with the Academy Student instead.

SAs
Eye of the Needle Precision

A very simple technique, by using chakra the user is able to instantly accelerate their selves to their max speed. This can be done in just about any condition, but any techniques that slow the user's movement (such as armor from jutsu or most jutsu that might slow an individual) will still affect them.

It had appeared that Kouki and Jun had become a tad distracted. Kouki was distracted as he suddenly was thinking what he wanted for dinner. Son Goku did not feel like chiming in as he truly could not care less as something as trivial as a snowball fight. He too was thinking about what places he would Kouki to go to for dinner. What refocused Kouki was the sound of a scuffle taking place. Kouki watched as Jun ignited her staff to toss fire down the hallway to intercept snow balls. Kouki took a deep breath in and made a sigh of relief. Finally…some action. From what he could make out, Jun’s flames soared over to Sango to stop an attack and was intercepted by the Nakajima guy. Kouki rolled his eyes as memories of dealing with Nakajima flooded his head. He noticed fishing girl was seemingly flying around a corner yelling for help. Kouki was not sure who Jun was talking to concerning saving Tsuri, but with Sango attempting to physically put himself up as a wall onto the red team, Kouki decided to be the one to pursue the young girl. Kouki decided to close the gap fast with an usagi senpo. Kouki could be seen gaining speed quickly as he scooped up a second snowball in his left hand. His goal was to dash past the group Sango intercepted, throw the two snowballs he had, and proceed with his pursuit. The shield looked very annoying to deal with, but with watching Sango clip the red duo, Kouki would try to find an opening. Frankly the throws would not have amazing trajectory as they would thrown mid dash. At least it would cause some commotion as he darted away. Kouki would scoop up to more piles of snow for snowballs as he seemed to be closing in on Tsuri and the Nakajima. It would take a couple of more moments for his eyes to assess where both were as they were also dashing into the corridor. The moment Kouki would lock onto the Nakajima would be when his snowballs would fly.

CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
DESCRIPTION:
Usagi Sanpo is the art of moving really fast, in a nonlinear direction. The user approaches the target in a zig-zag pattern, pouncing left and right while facing the opponent. Due to speed of the movement, and the irregular pattern, they are often confused as to when or how to strike, thus leaving them aghast until it's too late.

As the two groups moved into the narrow tunnel together, the chaos became all the more evident. Jun, in an attempt to intercept the attack on Sango, utilized a flame technique to melt the snowball headed their way. Taro, however, cleverly attempted to utilize the attack to his advantage, intentionally taking damage to make it seem like she'd thrown an offensive attack and try to knock her out of the running.

Somewhere in the tunnels, the voice of a referee commanded -

"Proceed as usual. After the conclusion of the round, Nakajima Taro and Muramatsa Jun meet to discuss that event. Proceed with caution - the next person to injure another contestant, intentionally or not, will receive an automatic strike." It seemed that that didn't knock her out of the running instantly, but it certainly put the scrutinizing pressure on. Everyone would have to play a little more carefully now.

Taro utilized his speed and techniques to zoom past the rest of the groups. When compared to even Sango, but especially Tsuri, he was easily the fastest of the group. That meant that while he was passing Tsuri and while Sango was working around the remainder of the group to catch up, Taro was able to land one of his snowballs on Tsuri.

Tsuri - one strike.

She was still at the front of the blue pack however, utilizing her lifeblade to good effect to keep up the speed through grappling maneuvers. Sango, after performing the launch with their clone, was not far behind. Their aggressive push into the tunnel had created a bit of space, moving Akihiro aside and giving Kouki a new opening to attempt to push past Sugita.

Unbeknownst to the two blue team members, however, Hinata was just beside them, still cloaked in the snow. He could continue his run forward in case Taro was somehow slowed down, but he could also attempt to utilize this moment of surprise.

Sugita positioned himself carefully. He was moving slow and defensive. This meant that his team was fairly protected against attacks from behind, but also meant that attacks from the duo between were less guarded against, and it was easier for the remaining members of the blue team to catch up. Sango's snowball toss managed to strike Akihiro.

Akihiro - one strike.

When Kouki began to utilize his rabbit step, it was quick work for him to approach. Still, Sugita's lifeblade connection to visibility gave him better visual of the entire field and would allow him better reaction time to throws, particularly with regards to whatever Jun's plans were.

Jun took up the back of the pack, but that wasn't necessarily a bad position to be in. It meant that she had an idea of where everyone was. She needed to play a little cautiously to avoid getting into trouble for offensive jutsu now that Taro had pulled that devious play, but it was nothing she couldn't come back from.

Akihiro, wanting to focus on the hot target near to him, would attempt to throw another snowball in Tsuri's direction. To the trained eye of another bukijutsu specialist, though, one might notice a second snowball hidden in the shadow of the first...

Up ahead, there began to be light filtering through. It seemed like this segment of underground labyrinth was ending and they would be approaching the fortress soon.

There were two vulnerable targets on the field now. Tsuri and Akihiro each only needed one more strike to be knocked out of the round.

There is no set post order.

Any person hit with two snowballs will be out for this round and may return in the next. Out players may still advise their teammates.

Once a team reaches the fortress, if they can hold onto it for two rotations, their team will be declared winner.

It wouldn't of taken long for Tsuri to collect her life blade's full length with how Sango was sprinting the two along now, giving the girl a little leeway. Tossing down her treasured fishing pole and scooping a handful of snow into her hand. Looking behind she would be quick to notice that there was a snowball heading at here, but there was little in knowledge to go off of when it came to shurikenjutsu with the girl. Her focus was on the fish hook that she called Hakugei. Outside of the pelting that she had gotten from Taro before being caught up by one of his tosses. She needed to not lose at the moment and that became harder when you were getting marked by multiple enemies, but this just kept her eyes moving. Patience was how a fisher hunted and so far she was being the exact dead opposite.

"Snowball at 7 o'clock Sango-Senpai!" Tsuri would call back as she would twist and send her snowball on a fast straight towards Akihiro. She had to hope that Sango could stop whatever was coming even as she took the moment to spring further down the tunnel. Looking above and ahead she would toss Hakugei again this time casting him around the nearby round and lodging him in a place that would drag her up and onto the wall to dodge at least the first coming snowballs, the blade running along the rock so that it couldn't be run over by Taro in his seeming attempts to rules call the judge seemingly. This was less to get her out as much as it was to lift her upwards in the tunnel if only a few feet before hopefully dropping back onto her feet. She had no jutsu to really protect her with nothing to substitute with out here.
