Soon after deploying his creations he stumbles upon a genin named Hiesin Mairusu from Konohagakure. Seemingly lost in thought, the two converse for a while. About life, home, and loyalty. Some time later they decide to train with one another, Uemon using it as the perfect opportunity to test his puppets' field readiness. A bout ensues between the two with the younger ninja eventually managing to take his rabbit puppet and its clones out with electrified kunai. Glitches now apparent, Uemon takes note of their weaknesses and resolves to improve them. The wanderer and the genin share a few words before parting. Resolving to train again one day.

After some initial tension the young man introduces himself as Jinmenshi Io and proves a rather friendly sort. They all share lunch and eventually he and Uemon strike up a rapport and agree to spar, thinking it beneficial for Kota to watch how shinobi train. Io demonstrates his skill with a sword and gains the upper hand on Uemon before he sheathes his blade and opts to use Taijutsu to turn the tables. The three end on friendly terms.

A game of cat and mouse ensues, with the medical-nin attempting to catch him while he does his best to mask his presence. After a frantic chase with many wily escape attempts, the doctor's sensory proves too much to hide from for long and Uemon surrenders after being surrounded. Both of their skills having improved as a result.

Look, How a Bright Star Shoots MISSION RANK: B LINK TO THREAD: Look, How a Bright Star Shoots LINK TO MISSION: Approval DESCRIPTION: With the Raikage Hirana Kizumi's permission, Uemon undertakes a mission for Kumogakure no Sato alongside Yamamoto Shosuke. The duo's objective is to infiltrate Kuma no Kuni and retrieve a sample of a fallen star for research purposes. In disguise as a priest and his bodyguard, the pair sail near the border between Kuma no Kuni and Mori no Kuni and proceed to make their way inland. Not long after they have a tense standoff with a trio of vagabonds but they are swiftly dealt with. And after receiving information from the highwaymen they hitch a ride with a kind old merchant to near where the star had fallen. Uemon and Shosuke come up with a tried and true plan: distract, then snatch and run. Utilizing his own skills in stealth and puppetry he manages to procure the meteorite in its entirety and a hasty pursuit follows. Eventually they are able to lose the Hoshi-nin and after donning some new disguises the pair head back towards the port with the star in tow.

Operation 3 - To Protect All Trees From Devastation MISSION RANK: B LINK TO THREAD: Operation 3 - To Protect All Trees From Devastation LINK TO MISSION: Approval DESCRIPTION: Hearing of a rōnin from Tetsu no Kuni that has made their way into Moku no Kuni, Uemon sets out to track them down to see if he can gather any relevant information about his target Kira Yoshitada. To his surprise, he happens upon a familiar member of the Tanjo organization Kazama Fuu in the area as well. Apparently there to do some disrupting of her own. While initially planning on interrogating the samurai, the situation quickly devolves into a skirmish. Fuu and Uemon both team up temporarily to battle the swordswoman and the Ishigakure shinobi accompanying her who are guarding a caravan of some sort. Words are traded, the rōnin reveals herself to be a member of the Masamune clan, and a tense battle ensues. Eventually the duo are victorious, with Fuu having completed her objective of trashing the construction materials the group was escorting and Uemon having slain the rōnin when all was said and done. Uemon is forced to dose Fuu with Drowsiness Poison in order to stop her rampage, and the pair make a hasty retreat afterwards. No doubt with pursuers close behind.
