*Twack! Twack! Twack!*
Ever since out of her sickbed, Chiyo sprung forth with renewed vigor and determination. For the past half a year, she was stricken with a terrible illness. Weakness, nausea, high temperature, dizziness, all the nasty things that just kept her barely moving around the house, unable to train or even read! Must have gotten it when visiting her close friend, Kyoko. In that timeframe, many of her class have moved past the academy, graduating into Genin. Them! To Genin! Before her! This could not stand! Chiyo had to catch up!
And so, every time after class, the girl went to a roofed open training ground, available to all. There were her favorite wooden dummies, whom she slammed with determination. Her wooden bokken making cracking noises from each blow. Last time she was here, she met a strange person, whom she nicknamed Duck-Sensei. Chiyo thought he was an enemy shinobi of somekind! And he even played along. But, as it turned out, the weird yellow trenchcoat guy was just pulling her leg. He did tell the girl about a cool samurai friend he had, and even taught her a neat trick! One she was unable to replicate. Not yet. Maybe once she earned a proper sword...
The girl did look like a miniature samurai though, with that dark purple kimono and sandals, and her hair in a neat bun behind her head. She struck the dummy a few more times, before taking a step back and bowing to it, as if in appreciation of it taking its blows. Chiyo wiped the sweat off of her forehead - this was quite a workout after so much time lazying in bed!
"Phew..." - she said, sheathing the sword into a loop she attached to her belt, as if it were a scabbard. Instead, she took a bottle of water to drink. Dummies were good enough for beginner practice, but... she wanted more.
Perhaps she could meet another amazing person out here, in these training grounds?
