And so, she introduces him to the Body Flicker jutsu much to his amazement, incorporating it into their harsh training she attaches weights to his body and chases him throughout the forest doggedly. Keeping him on his toes and continually thinking on his feet, the boy struggles but persists through gaining a greater wealth of experience and accomplishing himself by outplaying her even with such a limited repertoire of abilities.

Doing well for a beginner, he ultimately loses getting beaten down by the Genin.

Speaking at length, she shares a piece of candy with them and they decide to share in a fun bit of sport together. Knocking out two birds with one stone, the two decide to train together one making use of his dexterity in dodging effectively training their speed evading the winding course of wood and the other in exerting control over as well as practicing their newly learned jutsu.

Due to nearing the hurdle Ataru is paired up with a freshly returned instructor, walking the town of Konoha under the expectation of training. They spark up conversation and come to enjoy each other's company on a quaint day amidst the market in which he forms a bond with Kazui, shortly after being embroiled in a staged crucible of sorts. Placed under Genjutsu and thrust into a scenario of chasing a fiendish purse snatcher in reality it is Kazui in disguise seeking to gauge and test the young boy by confronting them in a faux battle. Ataru chases them down and engages her unknowingly in a battle of strength and wits, between Shinobi. Coming out of the interaction better for it, tougher and more experienced in certain ways.
