For one reason or another Enyo had been pointed towards the academy today. He didn't like it, he wanted to just train and do whatever he wanted to do. Mostly picking apart medical scrolls as he often did, how else was he going to learn the medical arts if he didn't pick through those scrolls? No one else was going to teach him, everyone was too busy or not capable of teaching him anything medical. It was hugely frustrating, and Enyo was getting ready to have a meltdown over it. Which meant when he arrived at the academy he was already quite heated - mentally.

He was given an assignment, some silly mission simulation for one of the brats.

Apparently there was a point on the opposite side of the village, and he had to provide a decent amount of resistance against the little brat he would be meeting so that he wouldn't get the chance to raise the flag on the opposite side of the village that he would be provided with.

Enyo rolled his eyes and then wandered out onto the training grounds, his posture was well put together but the way he walked was quite leisurely and perhaps a little disinterested but now all he had to do was wait for the little brat to show up.

The dream of every shinobi was to successfully complete their missions and return to the village and today was the day Tsugime would finally get that opportunity. Well, sort of. Still being in the academy meant that he couldn't go on real missions but that mattered not as the village had come up with simulations so that students could get a more in depth understanding of what those assignments were like. A few of his classmates had been through them before and their stories were all over the place: some had to fight people, others had to escort a VIP through the village while dodging traps, it all sounded so cool!

The boy could feel his heart beating a little faster as he neared the academy, did missions make everyone this nervous? "Get it together, just stick to what you've been taught and you'll be fine." Tsugime told himself between a few deep breaths to help himself calm down. The guy he was supposed to meet was some genin named Enyo and truth be told he was surprised that one of the instructors wasn't leading things but whoever this guy was must have been good enough to be trusted with the task; he was a genin after all so the boy must have known a little something. Scanning the grounds it didn't take long to find the dark haired youth and uh.. he didn't look too enthused to be here. Well, even more reason to not keep him waiting!

"Heyo! Are you Enyo? I'm Tsugime and I think you're the one I'm supposed to meet for this training... mission thing." The boy spoke. He was excited to get going but still wasn't entirely sure what to expect.

Enyo almost sneered at the voice that pricked at his ears. From the looks of it, a little hoodlum had approached and he was supposed to be helping him? It was irritating, to be quite certain. Enyo however managed to save face for once and did not show his immediate disdain for Tsugime. Except for a quiet sigh that left him through his nose.

"You always dress like that? Can't believe parents let their children look like that in public." He spat not too worried about being polite in this interaction. He was going to be playing the bad guy anyway, no point in Tsugime loving him. That wasn't really the goal was it?

So, Enyo reached into his pocket and tossed a bright blue piece of fabric over at Tsugime. It had some weight to it, the fabric of a flag that would wave in the wind once unfurled.

"Here. That's the nasty thing you have to put up at the gates on the other side of the village. Apparently there is a pole over there. I didn't check, but I think since we're as south as it gets it's probably up north." Which was a decent ways away all things considered.

"I'm going to keep you from reaching the checkpoint. Ready?"

Enyo wasn't going to make it easy, in fact by the looks of it he was going to make it very scary, and very difficult. Because now he had clicked a mechanism along his wrist that showed his hidden blade and his initially neutral expression had turned to a particularly cruel smile. Tsugime had unlikely faced any deadly force before, Enyo would show him what it was like.

And so the very moment that Tsugime showed any indication that he was ready Enyo would lunge forward with his blade aiming to stab him and to try and yank the flag away from him.

"What's wrong with my clothes? This jacket is awesome." Tsugime replied kinda surprised that the first words he heard from Enyo were an insult. Most everything matched, fit well, and most importantly looked pretty cool to boot. How many people could say they had been gifted a jacket bearing the Yuki insignia on it? Not many that's who! Kiri's climate was all over the place so his family wanted to ensure that he was prepared for whatever weather may come his way while he was out and about.

Before the boy could get anything else out about his clothes the genin tossed him a rolled up flag and explained what the goal of the exercise was: planting said flag at a point on the other side of the village. Due north meant running through the rest of the training grounds, past the Kaguya complex and through the main residential area as well. It was a good little trek even running at a sprint so this wasn't gonna be quick. But there was one more thing before all was said and done: Enyo was going to try and stop him! Wait... he had to go up against a genin?! Traps and tricks sure, but this guy was a whole ninja how was that even fair?

Ok ok there was no need to be scared. Tsugime knew he was close to graduating and would eventually be going up against other genin soon enough anyway. Besides, real missions had the chance of fighting people that were stronger than oneself and if everyone waited around to only fight people that were their same rank then nothing would ever get done, and it's not like they were really gonna fight right? He just had to play keep away with the flag long enough to plant it. Well, that was until Enyo produced a blade from some contraption on his wrist and turned on a wicked grin. This dude meant business.

Tsugime's eyes widened at the sight and he immediately rethought his commitment to this exercise but if he couldn't get past this then what hope did he have as a real ninja? None, that's what. "Uhhh, ok let's do it." Not a moment after the boy gave the go ahead did he see Enyo lunge at him with that wrist blade trying to hit him. The Yuki did what he could to jump to his right and evade the strike before tucking the flag in his pants, he had a feeling both hands would be needed to make it through this. "North.. north. Alrighty gotta go!" Tsugime spoke to himself as he darted out in the direction of the northern gates. Outrunning this guy probably wasn't gonna work so he'd have to try and lose him at some point but that'd be hard in the openness of the training grounds.

There were a lot of things wrong with Tsugime's clothes, but Enyo wasn't about to get into that. This was not about going on a little shopping spree after all. They had an exercise to do.

Perhaps Enyo had been told something different in terms of what the exercise was meant to be. But he had decided to do it his way, a little differently. It was way more fun that way if he got to try and hurt someone instead of setting up boring little obstacles for the academy brat. If this was meant to be a mission simulation, what would he learn from a few fake obstacles? Nothing. Now if Enyo was the main obstacle? Different story!

Enyo lunged and just barely missed striking Tsugime properly, annoying. But it wasn't going to be the end of the world, instead he pricked his finger on the end of his hidden blade before retracting it and then took off after the other boy. He really didn't need much just a little flick of blood towards the Yuki once he got close enough for it to hit his clothes.

"Run, run! Or else I'll get you!" He called out after the other, and he definitely was not trying to *not* be creepy about it. Nothing like some adrenaline pumping for an exercise!

"Aye man, I think you're taking this too seriously." Something about this dude seemed like he was enjoying this more than Tsugime was and it was the strangest thing. Sure, playing a 'good' bad guy had it's own requirements but the boy had a feeling that trying to stab someone with a blade wouldn't have been approved by the instructors. No matter, he'd just have to tell them once all this was said and done. Wait, no he wouldn't. The Yuki wasn't a tattle tell and it'd be an even cooler story if he could tell his friends that he bested a genin who was using real weapons! Of course that all depended on making it to the gates and planting the flag.

Tsugime knew his bit of a head start wouldn't last for long and needed to create a bit of distance between himself and Enyo if he had any hopes of passing the exercise. Fighting him wasn't a good idea, not yet anyway, so that meant diversions and distractions would have to take center stage. With the Kaguya compound coming into view the boy thought about trying to lose Enyo in the maze of the compound but those secretive people had built a wall that would take too long to scale, so he'd have to find another way to get the genin off his tail. Performing three seals twin poofs of smoke would reveal two identical copies of Tsugime before the three crossed paths and scattered in different directions. One clone would veer left towards the compound wall, another one continue straight while the real Tsugime went to the right. Being little more than illusions there were some obvious signs of which ones weren't the true Tsugime but if he could just fool Enyo for just a few moments it would help.

The sad part about all of this, is Enyo didn't see the wrong in it all. He had been punished for his brutal and lethal force measures in the academy. That didn't change how he acted now. It was as if something inside was broken, and in the end aside from his skill he had been pushed through the academy quickly to try and get him out. It was not unlike his older brother Inei who had the same thing happen to him due to his own forceful manner.

Now Tsugime was going to get a taste of it all. But, that wasn't the main issue either. It was the fact that Tsugime was arguing about how he was taking this too seriously. Now, what kind of 'mentor' would he be if he didn't make his pupils work hard for their victory? A bad one. They were training to be real shinobi, right? So a few cuts and blooming bruises would not kill. But it would be a good motivator to avoid the pain in the future, it was how people got stronger!

"Hardly," He responded coolly as he kept on his pursuit.

Tsugime created clones, but Enyo wasn't really stupid enough to fall for those. The real one had a shadow, and so he kept on following to the right after the real academy student. That was when he decided to punish him for his very stupid and obvious attempt at trickery. Two kunai were pulled and he tossed them directly at Tsugime's back.

"Do better!"

Of course the dude didn't think he was being a bit overzealous about things and it was at that point that Tsugime figured trying to reason with Enyo was a fool's errand and to be honest could one even do that with someone who tried to stab little old academy students with hidden blades? Of course not! Granted, the boy knew --or assumed rather-- that Enyo was only acting as such because of the demands of the 'mission' and he'd be doing no one a favor by going easy on him.

With the clones created and the plan now set in motion Tsugime would take a quick look over his shoulder to see if the genin had fallen for the bait and... nope, Enyo was still hot on his tail. It was a basic technique for sure but Tsugime was hoping it would work at least a little. Worse yet it looked like the boy was digging in his pouch and sure enough out come two kunai aimed right at the young Yuki. "Oh shoot!" The boy exclaimed before jumping to his left but feeling one of the weapons catch on his jacket, he hoped it didn't leave a hole. "You better not have ruined my jacket!" Scrambling back to his feet the boy would make a beeline back to his original path of dead center. Being sneaky didn't work so sticking to the plan of trying to lose Enyo in the hubbub of the residential district would have to do.

Coming up on the fringes of it now Tsugime wasn't exactly sure how he'd lose Enyo but if he could get the boy's eyes off of him for just a few moments everything would be gravy. 'Well if he wants to use weapons then let's use weapons.' The boy thought to himself as he fished a handful of shuriken out of his pouch before turning and throwing them at Enyo. Being wooden they wouldn't do much in the way of actually hurting him but maybe getting hit by enough of 'em would make the genin wince or something.

"Your jacket is ugly anyway!" It was a shame that he had missed, but he could do it again. Senbon this time and those were much harder to dodge on account of them being so thin to see them slice through the air took a bit more skill especially with bukijutsu. So he pulled at those next, he could hit a few nice spots on Tsugime and make him really hurt. That was how senbon were, very dangerous if they hit the right points in the body and Enyo was almost beaming at the idea of knocking Tsugime out with one shot.

A bit of medical training never hurt anyone! Alas his plan came to a brief halt -

There were some wooden shuriken coming his way, and Enyo pulled out his sword to knock them aside, they very dully thunked against his real blade, and he chuckled.

"Oh you want to play like that? Don't get too excited." Enyo remarked sheathing his sword so that he could grab at his senbon and throw them. One went straight for the right shoulder - to strategically put out Tsugime's main throwing arm - another at the back of Tsugime's neck not to outright paralyze but definitely to cause some stuttering in his movement. A nice nerve pinch!

Even if Enyo hadn't of pulled out his sword to block the shuriken there was little chance they were going to do anything anyway except perhaps a splinter? Granted, that'd probably only serve to make the dude even more off kilter than he seemed already. Still, he couldn't have like flinched or winced just a little? Tsugime felt that he had a really good plan but just needed that little bit of separation to put it into action, unfortunately he'd have to worry about that later as he watched the genin fling a couple of senbon at him. Their small size made them hard to track and with their being multiple the boy wasn't sure which direction to move so he just dipped and dodged best he could.

Flailing about only did so well as the sharp pain of metal piercing his skin caused the Yuki to wince. One in the shoulder and fortunately the one aimed at his neck just nicking him instead of full on being in jabbed in there. "Ah damnit, what the hell man? You trying to kill me?!" Tsugime screamed at the genin before turning back to continue running. His arm felt like it was falling asleep and his neck kinda hurt but he could still run and they were almost at the residential district so he'd def try to lose him in the crowds or buildings or something. This dude was crazy!

Enyo was smiling perhaps with a little too much joy and delight. He did this even with people who were his superiors, unless they insulted him. He took great delight in putting people down, and he did so rather well even if his family did not want to admit it or give him such credit. No, giving credit meant that he would grow complacent in his growth or so they claimed. So Enyo kept running, smiling as Tsugime complained about the fact that he was trying to kill him. Perhaps he was, well the higher ups at the academy wouldn't be too pleased if he actually did murder a student... He might end up in jail or something. But it was just too much fun! He wanted to put fear in Tsugime enough that he actually fought back and actually felt that adrenaline spike like in a real scenario. The look of fear in his eyes wasn't enough.

"Maybe. Stop and find out!" He called after the boy, as he ducked and weaved into another district with more residential buildings. He was going to get him, he wasn't sure how yet but Tsugime would soon find out what it meant to bleed.

His shoulder was throbbing, his neck was bleeding and neither of those compared to the fear he felt looking back at Enyo's ghoulish expression. He really was trying to kill him. There wasn't much he could do in the way of fighting him at the moment but that wasn't the point of the 'mission' anyway, all Tsugime needed to do was plant the flag and it'd all be over... right? There was no way to guarantee it given how things had progressed so far but at least anything the genin did after the fact couldn't be thrown under the guise of an academy exercise.

Crimson eyes darted from side to side as Tsugime entered the residential district. Single and multifamily dwellings filled the streets in rows and they were the boy's best shot at losing Enyo and getting to the northern gates, but the crazed teenager wasn't going to just let himself be given the slip, the Yuki was gonna have to earn it. His eyes caught sight of a building under construction, scaffolding and various materials and equipment all around. It would hurt too much to try and climb but maybe a distraction would work.

Grabbing a paint can with his non-senbon'd arm the boy would turn and fling it towards Enyo. It wasn't the greatest toss in the world but he hoped that the genin would let his hubris get the best of him and try to slice it with his sword and just maybe some paint would get in his eye or something. It'd be just the break he needed. If that didn't work, however, there were always these bricks laying around...

Well the paint bucket was certainly an unexpected twist but instead of slicing through it - Enyo didn't think he was a literal God since he knew his own physical limitations - and trying to take the hit of a heavy thing, he moved out of the way. Which was done rather simply since Tsugime was throwing with his non-dominant arm which likely made the entire experience a bit more awkward for the academy student.

"Well that isn't going to do!" Enyo called out, practically cooing at the boy as he found a wall to run up and leap off of trying to bring himself just over Tsugime so that he could get a good whack over his head. If it landed, it probably wouldn't feel too good such a high velocity smack of the arms from overhead. Though this also put Enyo in a pretty precarious position. Dodging in the air was almost impossible without a technique... Unfortunately for Tsugime however this technique was a bit heightened because of Enyo's innate ability to speed himself up and make himself stronger through his bloodline. It was just the blood coursing through his veins, it was superior and with a bit of chakra he could do almost anything.

The plan had been simple: make Enyo use his sword to slice the paint can and use those few precious moments with the liquid going everywhere to run off, but of course things never went to plan. He'd watch as the genin simply sidestepped the flying can of paint and before running and jumping off a nearby wall. "What the--" Was all Tsugime could manage to get out before he felt a strong strike on the top of his head. While it wasn't a particularly fancy move the genin was faster and it took a bit to catch up to his movements.

"Ow damnit." The young Yuki exclaimed while rubbing his head. Even though that idea hadn't worked out the boy did notice odd: what had caused Enyo to move out of the way of the can instead of slicing it with his sword? He had used it to block stuff earlier but something had changed his mind this time. Maybe, just maybe there were limits to the things the genin could break through with his weapon and if that was the case then perhaps all hope wasn't lost just yet. Of course it'd be easier if his arm wasn't feeling all loosey goosey but Tsugime would have to just power through.

The gate wasn't too far now but with Enyo standing damn near in front of him it would be tough to try and just outrun him again. "Surprise!" Tsugime shouted as he fished a couple more rubber kunai from his pouch before aiming them at the genin's face and sprinting off once more. The streets were abuzz with citizens doing their daily deeds and the Yuki's hope was that he'd be able to lose Enyo in the crowd.

Enyo didn't know what he was being surprised with until suddenly there were a few rubber kunai flying in his face. He dodged the majority of them except one did manage to plonk him against his shoulder which was a bit annoying but it didn't really hurt since they were just made of a thick rubber. Then the Yuki disappeared into the din of the crowd. That was certainly unfortunate, Enyo might have been able to track the boy under different circumstances, but that wasn't going to happen. So he took the easy way out.

Instead of directly pursuing Tsugime he took to the rooftops. Tsugime would take a great deal longer weaving through the thick crowd of civilians trying to go on and about their day. Enyo would be get to the final checkpoint via the rooftops, in half the time.

So, when Tsugime did arrive, Enyo was already standing there, hands on his hips, head cocked to the side a bit.

But now Tsugime had to get past the genin to actually hoist the flag, and sure Enyo was SUPPOSED to let him have the victory in this little game, but not without a good and brutal fight. Had Tsugime been a Kuronmeru it might have been very different, the training would have been twice as brutal.
