kuronmeru clan jutsu NAME: Akusei no Chisio Hōsōi [Malignant Blood Casing] RANK: C CHAKRA USAGE: Medium, Very Low to Maintain CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu HANDSEALS: 3 REQUIREMENT: Black Blood KKG, Chakra Control SA, Blood Armor Technique, Black Poison Technique DESCRIPTION: Whereas Black Defense hardens blood under the skin, Malignant Blood Casing does so outside. A sharp, crystalline glass-like layer of poisoned blood is pooled on the surface of the arms or legs, then used to attack the enemy with deadly efficiency. The casing must be maintained with additional chakra as it chips away; open wounds are required to supply the blood for both creating and repairing it. The sharp ridges and spikes that cover the hardened surface will transfer the poison directly into the enemies' blood stream. From here the thick black-blood poison travels around the body, attacking the muscles - and organs if enough time passes. As more blood-poison enters, the effects scale from cramps, to difficulty moving infected body parts, paralysis, and eventually organ failure. NAME: Akusei no Chisio Hōsō: Ori [Malignant Blood Casing: Cage] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu HANDSEALS: 4 REQUIREMENT: Black Blood KKG, Malignant Blood Casing Technique DESCRIPTION: Placing a free hand on the opponent, crystallizes all or some of the user's blood that is already on their target into a thick, rigid layer of poisoned blood glass. The poison itself will do nothing unless there are open wounds underneath the casing, as it is bloodborne. Restricts movement and twisting: an encased hand can no longer use handseals, an encased joint can no longer bend. Should the target persist in attempting to twist or turn an encased area, their skin will rip open - unless they have a Durability SA - and the poison will infect them. Turns back into liquid after 1 round. Can be broken off with a B Rank or higher weapon, or broken by hand by a Taijutsu Sole or Primary Specialist, or with an Enhanced Strength SA. NAME: Akusei no Chisio Hōsō: Tanto [Malignant Blood Casing: Tanto] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu HANDSEALS: 4 REQUIREMENT: Black Blood KKG, Malignant Blood Casing Technique DESCRIPTION: By channeling chakra into the encased area, the user can cause a short dagger of sharp poisoned blood-glass to erupt through the casing. The poison in the blade is highly concentrated: should it puncture into the opponent's flesh, it will dissolve into their blood and begin attacking their muscles. Within a round, that limb or area will be inoperable. NAME: Nagareru Ketsueki Saisei [Flowing Blood Regeneration] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: High CLASSIFICATION: Medical Ninjutsu HANDSEALS: 6 REQUIREMENT: Black Blood KKG, Chakra Control SA, Medical Training SA, Blood Regeneration Technique DESCRIPTION: An advanced version of Blood Regeneration, this justu allows the user to quickly restore lost blood. Because of it's higher required knowledge, skill and chakra use, movement is no longer restricted and the speed is much faster. In one round of posts, twice their bodies capacity of blood will have been generated. (6 gallons or 22 2/3 liters.) Any excess blood is secreted from open wounds and can then be manipulated for other jutsu.

- I may be misunderstanding, but what does this jutsu do? You say that it "cannot be used to defend" so what is its purpose for being an A-Rank as well? It totally restricts movement, so then it is just an encasing that does nothing and shatters as if it were glass?

Thanks for taking a look at this, Han.

It's designed to be the opposite of 'Black Defense' - an under-the-skin, "block anything" jutsu. Conceptually, this is just supposed to be a cool way to beat the shit out of people. Functionally, it's a nintaijutsu - aside from it being sharp, the casing should in theory amp the attack power in the same way any other (elemental) nintai would.

I'd argue there's more to something like lightning cloak, or any other elemental punch, than just the effect of the element itself on top of a regular punch. I'm fine with making that 'effect' be poison, which fits, in addition to it just being a 'physical amp'. Though I do want this to be more than just a silly way to apply poison.

I'm not aware of any suiton ninjutsu, at least on this site, but I imagine if you made a jutsu that wrapped your arm in suiton water/chakra and punched someone it would be stronger than a regular old punch. In the real world, it'd probably be even weaker. That's just my opinion, of course.

Sorry if I'm not explaining well. It's basically the 'blood' equivalent to wrapping your arms in fire, lightning, water, or ice, etc. That's the intention anyway.

On our site having an applied element does not mean that something is automatically stronger. Elements have different weaknesses and furthermore different ways that they work. An application of a layer of Suiton as you brought up may only work to make the fist (or whatever body part) more buoyant/protected instead of 'more powerful'.

Either way, there is some confusion with what this particular technique does and how it constitutes an A-Rank. Could you please clarify the effect the jutsu has on strikes and how that would affect the opponent. Clarify why it can't be used for defense, whether it applies poison or not (this would require another jutsu in the requirement line) or just can be used in conjunction with the poison technique.

The jutsu currently does not really read as an A-Rank, and needs overall more guidelines as to what it does (as stated above) before we can decide if it is in fact an A-Rank or not. This definitely is a bit overreaching for a C-Rank. Particularly this bit:

"From here the thick black-blood poison travels around the body, attacking the muscles - and organs if enough time passes. As more blood-poison enters, the effects scale from cramps, to difficulty moving infected body parts, paralysis, and eventually organ failure."

The original technique is a D-Rank and only states there can be clots and heart attacks IF the target is not vigilant and is almost directly correlated to the Kuronmeru controlling the blood in the bloodstream. Therefore simply getting into the bloodstream would not be enough.

So once again this technique is suffering from a 'what does it do' - are you punching with a hardened casing and thus poking holes in the target's skin via glass-like pieces?

Is it purely to inject poison and thus move into the second phase which would be the black poison technique?

For a C-Rank it needs to do one thing and be decently dodge-able or have drawbacks.

Akusei no Chisio Hōsō: Ori [Malignant Blood Casing: Cage]

If it's poisonous it has to have the black poison restriction, but again, I feel like that is overreaching since their blood isn't actually poisonous without that technique. It can be a catalyst but not a direct and immediate effect that happens. Especially since the main point of this technique is to restrict mobility of an area touched.

That said, that 'area' needs to be defined. When you touch and put blood in please put an area of effect.

Turning back into liquid after 1 round is fine - we don't really grade things based on rank so I would say remove the B or higher rank weapon. In general I would just say a 'substantial amount of strength or sharpness' can break the blood.


Akusei no Chisio Hōsō: Tanto [Malignant Blood Casing: Tanto]
- This requires the black poison restriction.
- Inoperable? That's too much for a B-rank. You can say that the poison causes a limb to go numb. But that would be where the technique ends and I would say the blood would become not manipulable in the stream / muscles anymore.

Nagareru Ketsueki Saisei [Flowing Blood Regeneration]
- The original is already pretty strong, so this needs to be made to do one thing. Either you are still movement restricted and it does it in one post. OR it does it in the original amount of posts but movement is no longer restricted. If you want both, make it A-Rank.

I'm not seeing a good way to do what I want to with these jutsu. The initial one was meant to be the "base" of his suite, but as it stands I'm not sure how to do this without making it an underpowered D-rank - or so hyper specialized it no longer does what made it interesting to me in the first place. I think I may just not have enough understanding, so I think I'll come back to these later once I have more experience with the site and jutsu ranks. As it stands I'm fumbling around with effects and ranks, unsure what I even want precisely and certainly unable to articulate it.
