Seika watched the bustling traffic that seethed through the heart of the pirate city of Minato from her place atop a nearby hill with a look of quiet disgust. She hated places like this; the semi-lawless lands on the edges of a country’s border, where it was too inconvenient for their Shinobi to bother with policing, so they left them alone to rot and fester. They made excellent hideaways, but the stench of built up filth and the constant jockeying for what little scraps of power existed in such a place made her sick to the point the Nakajima preferred to avoid such places altogether. Or burn them to the ground, depending on her mood.

Unfortunately for the raven-haired woman, neither of those were an option today. Rumor had reached her ear of a ship that liked to dock in the city, a ship with a very familiar design, said to have been stolen right from underneath the nose of Yukigakure itself. The crew of pirates who helmed it claimed they had done so on their own in a daring heist, braving death and more to steal their vessel- but she knew better. For all she despised her former home, its security was beyond anything any group of ragtag brigands could breach, and even if they had, no one save herself had ever successfully escaped from the Yuki navy on a stolen vessel. Which meant that the bastard in charge wasn't just using the ship she had stolen for themselves, but also taking credit for her exploits. One of those would have been enough of an insult, but both? Both earned him a special place in hell, right next to Emiri’s long reserved cell.

The Nakajima let loose a long, slow breath as she forced herself to reign in her temper, lips pressed together in tight line form the effort. Under normal circumstances she would have burnt the whole city to the ground, slaughtered the crew and demolished their ship for such slights, but in her furious rush to the city she’d had time to think. A ship, particularly the ship in question, was a useful tool to have. It would open up many new avenues for her plans, as well as give her far more mobility and, with a bit of work, comfort when she traveled. The idea had appealed to her, if only because it would let her snub her nose and Yukigakure some more, so she’d come up with a plan of sorts. A duel between her and the Captain, with the ship and their lives as the wager. And when I win, I get his crew too.

Seika smiled at the thought of killing the upstart, long legs carrying her down the dirt path that led to the city, cloak wrapped tight around her despite the warmth that still clung to the evening sky. The sun would be setting soon, and that meant most of the sailors would want to get drunk, laid, or both. The perfect time to strike. She just had to make it to the dock without attracting too much attention to herself- which wouldn’t be that hard, given what her cloak could do if she needed it. But she wouldn’t. Goddesses didn’t fail, not even when making a mistake.

The evening breeze that blew through Minato signified the end of the day's labor for a good number of the lowlifes who had made the lawless settlement their habitation. A good number, but not all, because in such establishments such as Minato, there were quite a good number of the populace whose 'work' involved more crepuscular periods. Smugglers, thieves, sex workers, even assassins, these were the sort of folk who the closing of the day meant the beginning of their shifts. As well as security guards and the likes, who tried to make sure that their employers' interests were protected. Because with how matters stood, there was hardly anything that could be described as 'law and order' in this place.

Still, the majority of those who frequented Minato were sailors, and it wasn't so common for voyages to begin at night. As such, the bustle at the docks was that of people getting ready to close for the day. For most of these people, they earned their wages by daily labor, and whatever was earned when the sun was up, was usually spent when it was down. As such, those who did not have crippling debts to pay, or who had not been forced into direct or indirect indentured service, had some cash to throw away before the next sunrise. It was what moved the economy of Minato. Saving was not very much encouraged.

One of such people, some dock worker who had finished early and had a relatively heavy purse, which had put him in good spirits, was wandering towards the more fun parts of the settlement to waste his coin, when he saw the lone form of a woman seemingly making her way to the docks. "Well hello, beautiful," he said, edging closer with what he assumed would be a fetching smile. "I wouldn't be wrong in assuming you're in need of some... entertainment, right? So what say you let me spoil you tonight? I'll make it worth your while."

Walking around in daylight would always attract attention. What mattered was if an observer judged the object of their attention worthy of further investigation.

The fellow obviously did not know what was in store for him, even as the strange woman expressed her apparent willingness to oblige him. As a matter of fact, he had probably not even expected her to do so, because he stopped and stared at her with a somewhat surprised expression on his face, though it was clear that there was also some degree of delight mixed with the surprise. It was a sort of rule, to make whatever passes at all the girls, even though the result was often failure. Still, such an existence with a low life expectancy meant that there would be a lot of reckless things done. "You miss all the shots you don't take" and all that.

As she walked past him, the dock worker stared after her in glee, unwilling to accept that he had become so lucky. Or at least he thought he had hit the jackpot. He made no attempt to do anything proactive, until she had stopped at the edge of the alley and asked if he was coming. And then like a moth to the flame (pun intended), he followed, apparently enraptured by the smile she had graced him with. "What's your name, beautiful?" he asked, trying to strike up some modicum of conversation as he closed the distance between them, unaware of the risk he was getting himself into.

Seika smiled as the disgusting man followed after her, his face split in a wide grin that told her just how often he got a response from the women (or, rather, what passed for a woman) in this town. Still, the man did follow, and before long her stride brought the two of them into a dark, empty corner of the alley, framed by wooden walls on either side; a pile of crates sat at the end, beaten and worn by years of neglect and use as a mount for things far from their intended purpose, and the whole thing stunk of piss, salt, and death. Perfect.

The Nakajima woman turned to face her would be suitor, slender fingers splaying over his hairy chest as she guided him in a half-circle, slowly backing the man up to the crates until, with a soft push, she lowered him onto one. Her eyes burned with a hunger he would recognize, all but glowing in the dim evening light, and she chuckled at his question, sliding herself up into his lap slowly, dragging her skin across his to draw the fullest reaction out of him.

"I have many names, but you…” Seika breathed, her voice hot against the man’s ear as she wrapped her arms around him, left hand coursing through his hair as she pressed herself against him fully, knowing just how much he’d want to go further. The Nakajima paused, smiling as she drew her head back, aligning their faces so he could peer into her eyes as she whispered the last name he would ever hear.

"You can call me Death.” Her lips met his before he could process what she’d said, tongue pressing into his mouth as she transformed it into pure, scorching white flame with a thought and sent it down his throat, her flame-body hopefully searing him from the inside with nary a sound.

Of course, there was great wisdom in these stories, as they warned of the possibility of such 'once in a lifetime' deals being possible traps. It was unfortunate, for the dock worker at least, that none of these stories came to mind as he followed the bewitching beauty into the privacy of the lonely alley.

Whatever sights and smells were supposed to be less than delectable were ignored with the greater prize in sight. The man obediently sat when this strange woman guided him to do so, excited at the prospect of what would happen next. In response to his question, the woman gave her name... as death. Even before his face could register confusion, she had locked lips with him, as her tongue turned into fire. With the uninhibited strength of the dying, the dock worker tore himself free, collapsing to the floor as he tried to scream. Of course, it would be impossible to do so, with his throat practically roasted out. A slow, agonizing death awaited him, as he futilely struggled out the remaining seconds of his life in pain.

Perhaps the woman who named herself death should have gone for a much quicker means of killing him. For as the man died, he flailed with reckless abandon, hands and legs striking against crate, debris and ground with enough force to break his own bones. Needless to say, even without a throat, the next full seconds were a rather loud racket. One that was tunneled through the narrow confines of the alley and dumped into the world beyond. Perhaps, also, this murder would have been better done in the dark of night when there were less people about. A panicked voice would be heard close to the entrance of the alley, asking some other person close by that sudden sound could mean.

Seika watched the man flail about like the pathetic excuse of flesh that he was and smiled, her amber-gold gaze aglow with pleasure at his suffering. The noise was annoying, but she didn’t much care what attention the man’s death throes brought down on them, not when she could easily vanish into the night should she need to. Not that she was particularly worried about any of these peasants, but certain things would be easier the less of them she had to deal with before she found her ship. With that in mind, the Nakajima wove the seals needed for both the Kage Bunshin Jutsu and the Henge no Jutsu, transforming seamlessly into the man she’d just killed before walking out to the edge of the side-alley, a perturbed look over her transformed face.

"The fuck you want?” She said, shifting her speech pattern as best she could to match the disgusting man’s as she stuck her head out towards the interlopers, lips pursed in a heavy frown. "For fucks sake, man can't have a roll in the hay without someone butting their nose in where it doesn’t belong…” Her clone spoke then as well, voice soft and breathy as she moaned, a low throaty thing meant to arouse- or, in this case, embarrass the ones who were trying to peak in on something that wasn’t any of their business.

"Oh baby, come back. I was just getting into it.” Her clone giggled, and she glared down the alley at the people who had stopped to investigate the noise before sliding back into the darkness. If that didn’t keep them away, she had other options- none of them good, of course, but still options. She never had been well suited to the sneaking aspect of being a Shinobi, no matter how much others tried to show her; killing, slaughter, dealing death on a battlefield, those she could do. But hiding? That just wasn’t in her blood. After all…

Fire wasn’t meant to be hid under a basket.

Seika, either through a twist of fate or simply good genetics, has inherited the coveted power of the White Flame, the highest ranked color of Flame within the Nakajima clan, and it shows. Fire is not merely a part of her- she is fire, a living embodiment of all it means to be flame, and as such her ability with her clan’s Hijutsu is second to none; she can switch between her flame body and real one with near instantaneous ease (though this does not low the chakra cost), and can stay in it for quite awhile. While in her flame body, she is completely impervious to all forms of physical damage, though Chakra enhanced attacks (particularly Fuuton based) can still injure her. In this state, she is able to heal herself using any natural fire nearby, absorbing it into her flame body.

Yuki’s Fire-Flower [Enhanced Katon Ninjutsu SA - Power]
From nearly the moment she could walk, Seika has had an affinity with Katon that far surpasses the norm, even for a Nakajima. Her Katon Ninjutsu, and in particular her Nakajima Hijutsu, burn hotter than even the most powerful of her clan, granting her Katon-based Ninjutsu a significant boost in raw power over others of her rank, so much so that she is nearly on another level of power. Additionally, Seika can switch between the four different flames of her Clan’s Hijutsu almost at will, but rarely does so, preferring to use her White Flames almost exclusively. Katon Ninjutsu (including Nakajima Hijutsu) used by Seika are roughly 25% more powerful than normal, and cost 10% more to use.

The dress itself has a short hem that stops just above the middle of her thighs, with a long train of narrow cloth on the left side that leaves most of her legs exposed. The dress is tight around her bust and hangs off her shoulders, showing off much of her cleavage. The edges are decorated by golden filigree work, particularly around the bodice, it is hemmed by black lacework, and sports a hidden pouch inside the bodice.

Seika, in disguise, would see that the curious investigators were three in number; by their clothes and looks of the same temperament and vocation as the man whose face she wore. Perhaps a lesson she might learn today would be that you never attempted to shame those who were incapable of feeling such an emotion. Sure, among the not-so-upstanding varieties of humans who made Minato their home, there were definitely some people who had some form of dignity they wished to protect, despite their standing in life. One of the men who had come to investigate the loud noise was of that sort. A half-lecherous, half-sheepish smile crossed his face, and he laid a hand on the shoulder of one of the other men with him.

"Well well, so that's how it is. Come on guys, let's leave this lucky bastard to his devices," he said.

Sadly, the other two were of the absolutely shameless variety. The fellow who had a hand placed on him shrugged his friend off, a greedy look on his rat face. "Well, if he wanted privacy, he could have gotten a room, ya think?" he said in a particularly grating nasal voice, to which the third goon nodded enthusiastically. The apparently sensible fellow among the three sighed, shrugged, and began walking off, while the other two drew nearer to the disguised Seika.

"Oi, I smell meat," said Rat Face. "Having a feast in here? You know better than to not share in all good things with your buddies."

Idiot. Seika thought, her transformed face scrunching in a frown as one of the three men gathered at the front of the alley walked off, leaving the other two to slowly close the distance between them. She didn’t have much time or, truth be told, patience for this game of lies, so as Rat Face and his friend approached she simply sighed and turned around, shaking her head in faux acceptance. The moment her frame was even remotely out of sight she cut her thumb across her throat, signaling to her clone that it was time to abandon the charade.

Both of them smiled as she dispelled both her Henge and the Kage Bunshin with a thought, turning to face the side-alley. Chakra flared through her dress, summoning two kunai from the seals she had sown into the hem of both sleeves, and she grabbed them, face split in a wide, hungry smile. Truly, she wasn’t built for all this sneaking about bullshit. The direct approach had always worked best for her- and that was what she was going to do, now that her first choice had failed.

The moment the two men rounded the corner, the Nakajima flared chakra through her limbs, activating every fast-twitch muscle fiber in her body in an instant and accelerating to top speed, Kunai flashing forwards in two distinct paths ahead of her. The first would go low, aimed for the rat-faced one’s left knee, while the second was aimed high, at the base of his companion’s throat. Regardless of her kunai’s success, Seika would arrive between the men a moment after their intended impact, palms outstretched to grab hold of both of their faces and, with the momentum of her charge, slam the pair of them down onto the ground, hard.

Should her attacks succeed, the Rat Face man would find himself suddenly lacking a companion, with a kunai in his knee, a pounding headache… and a stunningly beautiful goddess of flame looming above him, one hand clasping his face while the other stood raised in flame-body form, a threat just waiting to be delivered.

With their supposed colleague seemingly agreeing to their demands and heading back into the alley, the two slobs followed eagerly, unaware of the danger ahead. All their lives, they had jeered at anyone who said virtue paid off, but perhaps today, they would learn indeed that it did, as the third of their number had unknowingly saved his own life by walking off. Or had he saved himself? One thing humans on the wrong side of the law were more likely to exhibit over their more orderly contemporaries was recklessness. The departing fellow was just as likely to have himself killed the next day in a simple argument, or by choking on his inebriation-induced vomit.

As Rat Face rounded the alley corner, he felt a terrible pain in his knee, but before he could cry out, he was smashed violently into the dirty ground of the alley. There were two women standing over him, one a being of fire, and the other gripping his face. He was about to do as instincts demanded and scream his lungs out, when the threat was delivered. There was silence, as Rat Face shook his head as vigorously as he could, to let Seika know that he was willing to comply, if to save his own life. Because he knew, even without turning his head, that the gurgling sound beside him was the sound of his companion bleeding out from his throat, even as Rat Face felt a warm liquid slowly seeping beneath him.

But there was a problem. Panic created mindless behavior. And no sooner had the lowlife expressed his desire to cooperate and not scream, than he did the opposite. Perhaps it was the suspicion that he was going to die nonetheless, or the feel of his colleague's lifeblood soaking him. The scream which tore from his throat was louder than someone of his size was supposed to be able to deliver, strengthened by the almost factual possibility that this was going to be his last action on earth.

At first, the rat-faced man seemed ready to comply, his fear at her strength evident, but before Seika could so much as ask him a single question he began to scream, his voice amplified by the sheer terror that was his impending death. The Nakajima didn’t hesitate, the hand holding his face shifting into flames as she surged her chakra, engulfing his head in white fire that quickly spread through the alley, catching everything it touched ablaze. She had tried to be sneaky, had tried being careful, had tried to collect information before she headed into the lion’s den, but that had never been her specialty. This…. This is what I was born for.

Seika grabbed her kunai as she stood, careful to keep her flames from igniting the tags wrapped around their hilts, and before the fire had spread beyond the alley she left. She withdrew her chakra so that the flames shifted from white to orange-red, the fire no longer special or fuel by her, but still dangerous to others. Pulling down her hood with a sigh, the former Yuki-nin strolled down the street calmly, kunai in hand, lips pursed in a slight frown as she headed down towards the port, intent on doing this the direct way.

"Should’ve just done this in the first place…” She murmured, raven-colored locks bouncing as she shook her head. True, she’d gotten to burn a few bits of worthless trash, but killing peasants could only be so enjoyable.

As Rat Face died in the agony of white flame, his voice was silenced suddenly, even as people outside the alley began noticing that something was probably wrong. If Seika listened, she would hear the noise of people shouting to each other, but that seemed to be all that was being done for now. Of course, it was to be expected that people would take notice, not just of the noise, but of the fiery display as well, because fire did not normally burn white.

People saw Seika as she exited the alley. There were more shouts and pointed fingers, but no one made any attempt to stop the hooded figure who walked down towards the docks. Of course, there was also the problem of dealing with a burning alley, and the destruction being caused to the adjacent houses. As people ran to and fro, trying to quench the hungry flames, they were sure to give a wide berth between themselves and Seika...

...except for four people who stood in her way along the road, watching her approach. Seeing as two carried large swords, which they held unsheathed in their hands, it was clear that they were, at least, unwilling to allow the woman continue her advance. "This is as far as you go," one of them stated, as they shifted into ready stances one she came within earshot. "Surrender and come with us nicely, and you might still be alive at the end of the day."

It didn’t take long for her conflagration to start a panic, nor for the powers that be to appear in force.

Four men stood before her, two brandishing large blades like some samurai of old while a third, likely the leader, demanded her immediate surrender. There was even a threat at the end of it, as if these peasants actually believed they could harm her. Seika chuckled at the notion, her lips parting in a full smile as she shook her head, amazed how foolish some people could be. They could see the white flames, yet didn’t understand. There was a goddess among them, a living fire made flesh, and they dared stand in her way?

"I think not.” The Nakajima said, tossing her kunai to the side and leapt back, chakra flaring through her dress as she pointed one hand at each of the sword wielding men and let loose a blast of pure white flame, the unique properties of her dress allowing her to perform the Haini: Hidama jutsu without having to shift into her flame-body.

Regardless of if her attacks hit, Seika knew the men would come after her- and so as soon her flaming projectiles were loosed, she brought her hands together and formed a single hand seal, focusing her chakra on the slight connection between her and the explosive tags wrapped around the hilts of her discarded kunai, triggering the seals to coincide with her attack’s impact, be it with the ground or the men.

As soon as Seika leaped back, the four men prepared for battle, each one preparing to move, as soon as they saw her begin to take action. Sadly for one of them, though, his attempt at readiness was not enough, as the white flame fired by the nukenin connected with his shoulder. Perhaps it would have been better if it connected with his head, as he would have died more quickly. But even as he fell to the ground screaming, the others were showing that they were not to be taken down and out as easily as he had been.

Seika's other target managed to interpose his huge weapon between himself and his imminent death, although he quickly dropped his blade due to the intensity of the flames that had bathed it. However, Seika would realize that he was not the biggest threat here. The one who had addressed her, the 'leader' as she surmised, executed a bunch of handseals, and spat out a large glob of water at her, which rapidly transformed into a large crescent blade of water aimed at the dark-haired woman.

The last of Seika's antagonists had just begun to charge at her when the kunai exploded, and although his saving grace was that he was not so fast and thus not close enough to the explosives to take serious damage, the man still got licked by the explosions, staggering back as his left side was singed. Still that was not enough to take him down. The three surviving men fell back a good space, to avoid the smoke from the explosions, so that they would better see where Seika was attacking from.

Seika smiled as the men did their best to deal with her attacks, one taking a hit on the shoulder that immediately brought him to his knees, screaming as her flames devoured his flesh. The other weathered the storm, interposing his weapon and her fire, though he dropped it almost instantly due to the sheer heat imparted to the metal. The "leader” reacted the best though, his hands flying through a set of seals before he spat out a powerful jutsu of his own, a blade of concentrated Suiton that would cut through her like butter if she let. If.

The Nakajima chuckled, her knees bending as she channeled chakra through her heels, utilizing their special properties to perform the Baku Sanpo jutsu outside of her flame-body. Fire exploded from her heels as she surged upwards, leaping over the leader’s jutsu and charging right back at the trio, closing the gap between them until she was barely five meters from them in the blink of an eye. Her own hands blurred through a series of five hand seals while she moved, Katon chakra pooling in her gut as she took in a deep breath before expelling the chakra out in a stream of rapidly expanding fire that would incinerate anything and anyone it touched in a twenty meter by ten meter swath.

"Katon: Ryūjin Kokyuu!” The words spat from Seika’s mouth like a gleeful shout, her amber-gold gaze lighting up as she spewed fire left and right, uncaring who (or what) she hit. They weren’t near the docks right now, so she didn’t have any reason to hold back on how much she destroyed, so long as these peasants didn’t hold her up for too long. Be careful playing with fire boys. You might get burned.
