With the Raikage’s advice so briefly delivered, the announcer wasted no time in stepping forward, projecting his deep, booming voice to make himself heard throughout the beautifully acoustic arena. "The first of our teams is! Nanashi Yuki of Iwagakure, the girrrrrrrrrrrlrilla! Paired with! The Not-So-Gentle Fist of Konohagakure—Hyuuga Raika! Versus! The international lovebirds! Kisei Sachi of Kusagakure! And her sickly-sweet heart, Uchiha Kai of Konohagakure!” Kai was dressed in a vibrant yellow hoodie emblazoned with the Yanki clan symbol—the defensive hoodie, the boon that he had exchanged his scroll for. Those who were pitted against each other in the first fight were now paired together in the next. The teams were bid to line up on their respective yellow lines and bow, and then the countdown for the round to start would begin. "Three… …two… …one… Begin!” As the starting signal sounded, a haze of thick, dark grey smoke suddenly began to fill the arena. It smelled of rich burning wood and incense, so heavy and so dense that it would cut each genin's visibility to only five feet or so in front of them, and as the minutes ticked by it would grow harder and harder for them to breathe. The smoke was clearly crafted through use of ninjutsu, and it would take an enormously powerful fuuton technique to clear it away; it was quite plainly meant to remain in place for the entirety of the fight. Spectators and participants alike would be familiar with the sight—it had been deployed in Akirei and An’s fight before, and it was the boon that Raika had exchanged her scroll for now. Sachi had also exchanged her scroll for a boon to be used in this round, though what exactly she had chosen would remain to be seen. The smoke, it seemed, was of Nakahara origin this time--perhaps a nod to the young participant's heritage. It wasn't anything that she would be able to manipulate, but her exposure to this kind of smoke in the past would make her slightly more tolerant of its effects, and would struggle slightly less than the others to get enough oxygen in the smoke. Kumogakure sensor shinobi and Omori clan members were on standby, carefully watching the proceedings in case of any potentially lethal activity going down in the smoke.

Raika just barely manages to wait for the countdown to begin, dropping down to a sprinter's stance as the countdown begins, then raising her hips in preparation to run, though when the announcer gives the signal to begin, she immediately rushes towards the left of her opponents as smoke begins to rapidly fill the arena, and she activates her Byakugan to keep an eye on her opponents, one of whom is her own teammate. She holds her breath, waiting until the smoke is thick enough to hide her movements, before pulling the gas mask from her weapon pouch and placing it over her own face, switching from running left, to stopping, then running right back to where Yuki is. She forms a single hand seal, and although she feels tired from the previous fight she had with this particular Iwagakure shinobi, she manages to halve her chakra into a Shadow Clone, thankfully also wearing a gas mask.

Without a word, the clone takes a deep breath before removing their own gas mask and placing it over Yuki's own face, giving her a bit more time to prepare than their opponents. She can't really give the other kunoichi any verbal instruction; she remembers how the arena seemed to really make sounds carry, so she didn't want to let her opponents know about her plan, and the gas mask would force her to speak louder than she needed to, anyway. She just has to hope that Yuki can figure out her own plan as her shadow clone and Raika herself focus their attention on the ninja duo that was to be the opposition.

Raika herself focuses on the preparations of the other two, taking a deep breath; she'd hate to use up any more chakra, so she amd her shadow clone circle around the pair just outside of the visibility allowed by the smoke cloud and Raka waits until her target is looking in the opposite direction before she gives a leaping kick at the shorter pink-haired kunoichi that she only knew as Sachi, who was apparently Kai's girlfriend.

Some teammate, didn't even introduce me to her!

Regardless of the fact that this was a very serious fight, she can't bring herself to seriously injure the other girl, so instead of aiming to take her out of the fight like she normally might have, she simply aims to kick Sachi's legs out from under her to put her on the ground and temporarily out of the fight, leaping back once again instead of immediately taking her out. The shadow clone, however, takes an opportunity to aim a powerful and devastating kick at Kai's midsection at the same moment Raika herself starts her attack, hoping to distract her own teammate with a two-pronged attack that keeps both ninja occupied. With any luck, she could use the combination of her Byakugan and the smoke to wear down the two without having to engage in too much direct combat.

The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.

When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

Kai's Sharingan was already active the moment the smoke hit the ground. His kekkai genkai was on full display- But so was Raika's. Dojutsu on Dojutsu action...

It was an interesting choice, to go with the smoke. But he couldn't exactly call it a bad one. It was just unfortunate for Raika that she was up against a fellow Dojutsu user, meaning this smoke was less than effective at blocking his line of sight.

Eyes quickly tracked Raika as she pulled a new technique out of her bag- A Shadow Clone? Creative. Kai wouldn't be able to tell which one was the real one. That put him on the backfoot, as wasting Chakra attacking the wrong clone would turn a bad time into an instant loss.

In his mind, he realized he had three dangerous opponents here, three tasks to deal with. One. The smoke. It would slow him down if he kept taking it in, so he needed to be careful. Two. Raika. The most dangerous of the two opponents for sure- She was likely the eldest of everyone here, and probably had the most experience. More importantly, she had experience fighting Kai, which put him at a distinct disadvantage.

Third, the unknown variable. The other girl. Kai had no idea what her capabilities were, as he wasn't watching their fight. He had spent most of his time recovering- Which meant he was on the short end here as he tried to track the movements through the smoke.

They'd have to play carefully- But. They weren't blind. And that's what was important. As Raika ran around the outside edge of the smoke, he carefully followed her. This left him open to the attack of the other girl- But he hedged that she didn't have any smoking clearing Dojutsu. Which meant he had to just make sure Sachi was okay.

He wasn't sure how he was going to tell Sachi where the enemy was. They were forced to play on the defensive here, but they were also on a timer... So they had to hit fast. And hard. He knew he'd have to defend both himself and Sachi here, and a simple deflection wasn't going to stop the attack from behind and the one from the front.

He'd have to resort to the Dragon Dance already, which was... Not something he wanted to do. But something he had to do. 

A glaive was a powerful tool- Especially a long one. And someone adept in using them could pull of feats that would be impossible for the average man or woman to do with a sword or shield. In this instance, he began the Dragon Dance. A twirl of his glaive enhanced with chakra, and it slammed into the ground, blocking the strike from Raika. The motion was made in a way that allowed him to put the metal handle of it inbetween himself and the attack coming at him.

It didn't stop it. The force behind Raika's attack, plus the fact that he had to block two blows, meant he was going to take the hit- But the weapon absorbed some of the blow. That, combined with his vest and the hoodie he was wearing meant that what could have easily shattered his ribs instead just sent a rippling pain through his gut- As he twisted the weapon back around and aimed to cleave at the perceived woman's midsection- Blunt side of course, he didn't want to cut her in half or something.

"Sachi! One in front, one in back- Listen for their footsteps!" It wasn't a great strategy, but he knew of a way some fought against Uchiha. They would close their eyes and listen carefully for the footsteps they made. It was difficult to hear a shinobi moving, for certain- But it was better than allowing their opponents to freely strike them.

Yuki showed up to the two on two fights with a huge grin on her face. In fact, in utter defiance of what most might expect from the rival villages, if Raika wasn't opposed, she'd offer the one-time opponent a fist-bump before the match started, in recognition of their shared attempts at avoiding overly harming the other party on principle paying off nicely coming into the third round!



As the round starts and the smoke billows out, Yuki used her high speed and small size to her advantage, ducking into the billowing clouds and darting as if to follow Raika just long enough for her to lose sight of the other shinobi, then stops, rather than continue at her previous trajectory. She's of the same mind as Raika- as the other Shinobi correctly predicted, she immediately uses the visual interruption as a chance to focus and- as Kai would see were his Doujutsu focused on her rather than the twin Raikas- she then began to supplement the chakra already inside her body with a strange otherly chakra, carefully balanced and mixed inside her chakra network while she lets Raika's cloned mask handle the work of protecting her from the harsh smoke while she drew in the vital energies from all around her!

Sachi couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and embarrassment at their grand entrance announcement, walking into the arena alongside Kai. She didn’t feel embarrassed about kissing him in front of all the spectators but now it was setting in. She acutely bowed to the two before her, smiling shyly at Kai as she came up from it.

She took out a slip of paper and held it between the fingers in haori, kneading medical chakra into the seal before moving closer to her "beloved”, moving her fingers along the open part of his shirt as she carefully placed the paper seal below his collar bone, making sure that it was a little hidden from the others and masking it with a flirty gesture.

"Please keep safe okay?~” She said with a little wink before pulling out the injector shot from behind her as the countdown began, loading up a vial. She was still feeling the effects of earlier, the strange sensation when looking at him but now was not the time to ponder on it.

Sachi carefully observed them, blue eyes brightly observing them as she moved closer to her partner. Having watched Yuki and Raika's earlier fight from the spectator's stand, the first bout of Round 3, she had carefully observed their techniques. Her eidetic memory allowed her to recall everything she had observed about them. However, knowing this, she knew that she was greatly outmatched.

Yet, much of the intricacies of their abilities eluded her, leaving her to make educated guesses about their mechanisms. Although the shinobi technique and inhuman-like abilities obsessed Sachi, the prospect of witnessing their skills up close ignited an excitement within her.

As she pondered this, smoke began to fill the arena, its familiar scent stirring a nostalgic feeling within her. The dense, sickly smoke triggered memories of her father and his association with Nakahara plants, and wondered if that was what was burned, a curious coincidence, although made sense considering how the Nakahara bred and cultivated their plants.
Despite her mild sadness at the obstruction of her view, she couldn't deny the slight advantage it afforded her, given her slight tolerance to Nakahara plants from her continuous use of them over the past few months. However, her concern shifted to Kai and how he would fare in the obscured environment, slightly regretting not having trained in abilities to filter out smoke.

Sachi wasn’t sure which one was the person who exchanged their scroll for this round however, she was sure that they were either a person similar to herself or someone with a gas mask, and perhaps their eyes lent them some sort of powers that allowed them to see within the haze, perhaps Kai’s mismatched eyes carrying that ability.

As if on cue, Sachi's earlier assumptions proved correct as her hearing heightened due to her lack of vision as she listened through the smoke-filled arena. The familiar sound of the glaive aiming in her direction now served as her shield, protecting her from harm but there was another sound from next to her another hit, the polearm slightly moving back, and another person on her left. It caught her off guard and she moved backward to keep away, her injector shot in the nook between her torso and arm as she ran towards the outer edge of the arena.

"Where is the other!” Sachi knew that the other miss was bad news when she observed the fight from before but only Kai and the others knew where the girl was.

Despite the stinging sensation in her eyes from the smoke, Sachi remained vigilant, her ears attuned to the sounds around her. With a precise hand signal, she indicated for the buff to be administered, clarifying that it was meant for her partner behind her rather than herself.

Raika is a bit unhappy that her two-pronged attack is so easily handled, but she really should have expected it from her teammate; he's an Uchiha, after all. Still, for him to have seen the two-pronged attack coming must mean that he's able to see through he smoke as well. This fight has just become problematic. She can also see that there's some other, foreign chakra emanating from his chest, and a quick comparison with Sachi's own chakra makes the source quite clear.

She can then see that Kai has started utilizing a technique she'd seen him use before, twisting and spinning the glaive around himself as a defense. She smirks; her shadow clone can handle him, especially since Sachi is on the move. Raika herself chases Sachi down, using her natural skill and long training in Taijutsu to try and deliver another flying sweep kick, though this one is aimed at her arm. Although this attack wouldn't necessarily take Sachi out of the fight instantly, it would be hard for her to keep hold of her odd-looking weapon when she has to deal with Raika's naturally high strength and the additional weight of the Hung Gar rings. Speaking of additional strength...

Raika's shadow clone is dealing with a much more dangerous foe, particularly one with a weapon and a penchant for using it well, who was being assisted by some kind of jutsu emanating from his chest that, yes, she could tell was healing him somewhat. At least the shadow clone could do something about the weapon on her own, especially since it's striking at her. She used one of the techniques she'd learned since meeting Chisai right there in Akazaya, a hard-hitting Taijutsu that was meant for a situation just like this.

The shadow clone watches the spinning movemnt of the glaive, then as he comes in for a strike, she aims to grab hold of his wrist, using her greater strength and the weight of the Hung Gar ring on her wrist to aid her in stopping his attack. Should the grab manage to find his wrist, she'd further use her strength to twist his arm in such a jarring, harsh movement that it would not just ruin his grip, but she'd ensure this disarming by using her other hand to smack the shaft of the long weapon, which she felt was clearly too large to be effective in this close combat scenario.

For use against an opponent attacking with a weapon. The user will grab said opponent’s arm, usually at the wrist but if the weapon blocks this they will grab higher along the arm. After having a firm grip on the opponent they will wrench the arm down and outwards, twisting it at an odd angle and causing the opponent’s grip to weaken enough so that the weapon may be knocked out of their hands.

Kai attempted to pull off a downward swing, but it appeared to be futile. The clone had a technique far superior to his assault... A perfect counter for weapon attacks. He grunted as he felt his arm twist in an odd direction, forcing him to drop his glaive- Leaving him open for any other attacks.

That probably would have been the perfect chance for the Clone to go in for the finishing strike... Before Kai felt something... Wash over him.  At first- It was a healing feeling- His chest and lungs quickly healing for a short time. A sudden burst of energy came with it- And more then both of those things?

He felt... Aware. Everything around him, it felt like it was in slow motion. Even further than that of his usual Sharingan powers. As if...

As if he had the speed to match his reflex. And the reflex to go one step above that. Whatever attack came next, he narrowly moved down and under Raika's armpit. The speed that came out of this was... Different. He was evolved. It would be slightly difficult for even the Byakugan to keep up, as he broke past the level of a simply Uchiha with Sharingan into an actual reflex built, speed built monster.

For a normal person, it might be a bit overwhelming. But for Kai... He was used to fighting fast. Used to fighting with his reflexes in mind. Used to moving at twice the speed. So this? This was just another step up the ladder.

"5 feet, your 2 a'clock, standing completely still." His voice bellowed out. He wasn't sure what she'd do with the information, but he had to do something about both the clone and Raika.

For now, deal with the clone. Two seals- Standing behind Raika- Before one leg kicked the ground behind him. Fire rippled out of the cracks in the ground, aiming to burn and ripple away at... Either Raika, or the clone- He wasn't really sure which it was.

It's not like he could tell personally. Still, with that attack out and about, he coughed again- Realizing while the jellyfish had bought him some time... He was still on a time limit.

How long could he really keep this breathing in the smoke up before it really started to slow him down?

It was all a roll of the dice.
A gamble.
But Yuki couldn't afford to let that distract her.

As Raika and Raika rushed to engage Kai, as Sachi went moving into the smoke in the hopes of locating Yuki herself, the petite brawler kept her focus intact. The smoke didn't slow the flow of chakra into her body. Raika had asked her to let her try to fend off attacks until she'd had the time to collect the energy she needed. She'd seen what Yuki could do and wanted that edge for their team, and was willing to make herself responsible for getting that time for her.

And she'd delivered.

Kai would be able to call out Yuki's position to Sachi. Nothing was stopping Sachi from making moves to reach Yuk except, perhaps, Kai's ability to navigate a third party that can't see properly, or Sachi's ability to take precise directions.

But it didn't really matter. Raika's strategy had worked. The smoke; her abrupt interference to prevent Kai from using his Dojutsu to interfere with Yuki's meditation; it left Sachi on the back foot, and without enough time to interfere with her meditation.

If Sachi followed Kai's instructions, and if they did in fact lead her to Yuki's position?

She'd arrive just as Yuki's eyes snapped open- and as her transformation began.

However, in the split second she took to process his answer, a sudden kick came hurtling toward her from the haze, targeting her shoulders with precision.

Reacting swiftly and instinctively, Sachi’s body abandoned her initial plan to use the flicker technique and instead dropped to the ground as her assailant's kick came hurtling toward her. The suddenness of the attack jumpstarted her reflexes, causing her to respond reactively rather than strategically. As she landed on all fours, adrenaline surged through her veins, grateful that the injector shot rifle remained securely held between her arms, a small comfort amidst the chaos of the moment.

Her assailant had flown over her and had landed somewhere in the dark smoke. Faced with the split-second decision of targeting the potential clone or aiming for the supposed location of Yuki, Sachi chose the latter, calculating her best chance of hitting her mark. With swift precision, she brought the rifle up and fired in the direction that Yuki was indicated by Kai.

The injector shot soared through the smoke, but a lingering sense of being slightly too late gnawed at her, urging her to keep moving. She pivoted away from the general area of both opponents, holstering her injector shot to free up her hands for agility.

As she moved, she couldn't ignore the growing difficulty in breathing, a reminder of the strain on her body even though she was accustomed to such sensations thanks to her recent training but Kai wasn’t in the same boat as her. Her brain tried to find a way she could help him with her limited abilities, however, she was also running out of supplies.

Raika was seriously low on chakra herself, and she knows her gas mask is soon to fail. She hadn't thought to bring multiple filters for her gas mask, so she would have to make do with the singular filter the mask came with. She's also a bit annoyed when Sachi manages to avoid the kick she throws out at her shoulders, although it at least momentarily gets her to fall to the ground. It's a very simple maneuver to twist in the air in order to get her foot down and slow her movement, but she can see the projectile aimed at Yuki traveling towards her now. With a grunt of effort, she tugs a shuriken from her weapon pouch, and uses her Byakugan to aim at the needle before launching her own projectile into its direct path to keep her own teammate from being hit.

"Ungh! That was a damn dirty trick!"

She chases after Sachi once more, looking to kick her legs out from under the pink-haired girl in order to stop her from running again. Of course, this time, she wasn't aiming nearly so high that her opponent would be able to drop down to all fours again.

Meanwhile, her shadow clone was in a bit of a bind of her own. This was a completely different Kai from the one she'd fought before, he was quite a lot faster and far more agile than when she'd sparred with him, and she wonders if it's due to the strange hand signal that Sachi had thrown out and the indication towards Kai. In any case, she had to take him down before he got to use his own Doujutsu and his newfound agility against her or Yuki. The shadow clone sees the hand seals too late to stop him from performing his Ninjutsu, but she still reacts as quickly as she can in this smokey environment, leaping up from the ground with a twist, pumping both her legs in order to gain some height thanks to her natural strength.

The shadow clone turns the rotation of her jump into a kick, aimed at the middle of Kai's torso, just to make avoiding the attack more difficult for him. With the weight of the Hung Gar rings to help her out along with her natural strength, the attack is likely to hurt, even if it does end up being blocked. The shadow clone is also suffering from the effects of the smoke, pretty terribly already, but she breathes out with force as her attack lands in an attempt to expel all the smoke from her lungs as the ground underneath her erupts into flames-

And now Raika is fully aware that there's practically no time left, and Yuki had better be ready to go. She rips the mask off her own face in order to yell more clearly, having used up all the time that the filter could give her.

"Enough laziness, Yuki! Kai is 10 meters away, directly in front of you!"

Of course, Kai could react to having his location given to Yuki, but Raika would be similarly quick to give an update on his position; he was pinged now.

Kai watched the clone leap up and begin its way towards an attack. In any other situation, this would be a painful strike he'd simply have to block. But this was not that situation. In this situation, Kai had control- His level of speed and reflexes going one step above that which the clone could keep up with simple taijutsu alone. No, if there were going to be any attacks on him, they'd have to be better than that, as he watched her leap up- And charged forward.

Her weight and power would be her undoing as he slid past her- hands over one shoulder as she used her kick to push her past himself. It would not hurt her- But it would completely avoid the attack as he left her behind him, and the opponents he actually had to focus on in front of him.

His location was given away. That was fair. He'd just have to work harder. He knew his body couldn't keep up this pace- The smoke in his lungs was starting to slow him down a bit now and haze grew in his mind...

He wasn't sure what was going on here- What his opponents had planned, but... Work smarter, not harder. He worked in slow motion- His opponent would have to close the distance with him, which gave him time. Hand into his pouch, and he flung out a variety of Makibishi, before calling out to Sachi as he grabbed his glaive off the ground.

"I-I can't take this smoke much longer- Come out and fight, you cowards! Sachi, she's still there, in the smoke, I think!" It was a bluff. He wanted them to come towards him. He wanted them to close the distance with him, to attack him.

To step into his trap, as he slapped two explosive seals down on the ground in front of him as well, making him a very good target for the opponent that he'd have to soon avoid, throwing sand on both.

Sachi might have assumed that her timing was off, but the truth couldn't be further from her assumption. As Yuki refocused on preparing to engage directly, the dart slammed into her shoulder and delivered its toxin, leaving Yuki- briefly- extremely concerned.

But, training set in, and her hands started moving immediately.

Noting the orientation of the needle- and thus the trajectory it'd come in on, implying a recent location of Sachi- Yuki put quick fingers to work popping open a pouch on her belt and pulled out a pill, shoving it into her mouth and swallowing it dry. She didn't know what toxin had been in the dart she'd been hit by, but it couldn't be lethal, and now, she had time. However long it'd normally take to kick in, she had enough time to mount a decent counter attack before it had a chance to do its thing.

Her hands flashed into a single hand seal, and where there'd been one apified Yuki, now there were two. Both went into action immediately.

With Raika directing her towards Kai, Yuki put her Sage Mode enhanced speed to use as both versions of her went to work! The original filled her hands with kunai at lightning speeds as her clone whipped open a belt pouch and scooped out metal spheres. In tandem, Yuki hurled the kunai- and the explosive tags strapped to them- with startling velocity due to her improved strength, slightly to the left and right of the position Raika had called out, calculating the distance needed to keep them from being lethal if he was where she said. As she did, her clone spiked the orb-like grenades onto Kai's position, showering kakukyu at the same intense speeds towards the heading that Raika had provided. They didn't bear any chakra, which might make them potentially less obvious to Kai from a distance- though their significance would rapidly become clear.

As the kakukyu smashed down in a haphazard spread around his location, they were sure to set off Yuki's own tags- and all of that together created three complications.

Firstly, Kai had limited his evasive options with the makibishi he'd thrown down.
Second, the multiple detonations promised a heavy spread of shrapnel which, while unlikely to be lethal, would be VERY painful.
Third... Kai was standing on explosive seals Yuki had no way of knowing were there and wasn't calculating for, potentially creating a situation much more dangerous than she intended, making what was supposed to be a disabling carpet bombing into a much more dangerous affair for the Uchiha!

Used Shadow Clone @ 66% chakra cost.

Threw 2 of Yuki's explosive-tagged kunai to either side of Kai's reported position, while the clone scattered the clone's ten kakukyu explosives around Kai's area. There's probably about to be a LOT more explosions than Yuki bargained for, but she doesn't have any way to know that. THANKFULLY, someone is using their Doujutsu, and will hopefully vacate before being pulped.

Senjutsu chakra spent on Sage Mode: 6+2 passives+4 for 1 medium jutsu=12. 40-12=28 remaining.

With a clink, Sachi could hear her vial getting intercepted. "Of course,” She thought to herself as she ran back trying to hide between the fog and the chaos not knowing how much she was succeeding in that fact. The words from Kai caught her off guard as he shouted of his time running near. Not knowing if the others would run from Kai or attack him while he’s nearly down, the girl could only be ready for either to happen. A hand seal ready now, she would see the blur of Raika hurling toward her through the haze.

Sachi used the body flicker technique to move out of the way, this time executing the evasive maneuver that she wanted but the feeling in her legs dwindled and a misstep sent her rolling backward through the smoke in a stunning array of lack of training. Rolling back onto both feet, the girl had shocked herself and couldn’t tell where her exact position anymore through memory, not knowing the distance she had rolled for. Not only that she couldn’t triangulate her position to where Kai was, but the risk of her hitting him with her attack was too high. She couldn’t figure out where they were by sound either and so her options were severely limited.

With no other recourse, the pinkette stomped on the floor a wall of water appearing as she took out 3 senbon in each hand awaiting a form to appear in the smoke awaiting a shot she knew could hit. Either through the wall of raging waters or from behind her she would at least throw the senbon in the event of an attack.

Raika smiles as she watches Sachi perform a hand seal and disappear for a moment, and although she can't really track where she goes during a Shunshin, she only has to wait until... There! Further from Kai, meaning Raika would have a much harder time helping out Yuki unless she managed to get into a much more useful position. Shucks. She wasn't sure if Sachi intended that to be the case, but it was certainly possible. She didn't want to have to circle around the pink-haired girl until both were in her vision, knowing that Kai and Yuki were at least starting their own battle with Yuki throwing some weapons of her own, thanks to Raika letting her teammate know about the traps that Kai had placed. Now, though, she was worried about her own actual teammate. She wasn't going to sacrifice Kai for these Exams...

"Kai, back off! Explosives!"

Yuki might have probably seen this as a horrible treason, but she needed to still have a teammate after the Exams, and she wasn't looking to have Sachi lose Kai from a chain reaction of explosives. She refocuses to Sachi in time to see her raising up a wall of water all around her, and preparing senbon to throw as well. Raika circles around just outside of the meager visibility allowed by the smoke screen until she's behind the pink-haired girl, then leaps above the wall of water around her, dropping like a stone over the top of the smaller girl and using her body to try and drop Sachi straight down. She aims a kick to the younger combatant's hands as she falls, mostly hoping to just disarm her from the senbon and release them, rather than wind up falling with them in her hand and possibly having a far worse outcome than she'd expected. Kai was certainly making things difficult for them, but she could feel that her chakra was running low, and she didn't want to use any more jutsu in this fight if she could help it. Still, she keeps an eye on Kai, ready to call out a warning for Yuki if he tries anything more.

Kai saw arms moving, and knew something was coming his way- But not what. When he heard Raika call out about the explosives, he blinked, made a single seal, and was gone in an instant.

Kai had been careful not to expend his shunshin- He did not overuse it over the course of the fights, and his chakra was still stable enough that he could keep fighting on. He was rather fortunate, in this case, that things were working out in his favor as he landed some distance away. Sachi was still up and alive- Raika had called out for him not to end up cooked, and...

Well, he still had the smoke to deal with... Not to mention the woman ahead of him. They were both running low on energy though... And he knew not everyone had a smoke mask...

As he landed on the ground, he felt a sharp pain in his right foot. He glanced back, and... Ah. Damn. Even with his enhanced reflexes and speed, he still caught some shrapnel in his boot. That... Would make fighting quite hard, as he stood up and looked on through the smoke towards Yuki, coughing a few times.

"The smoke is too thick! Lets... Lets call this off, before someone seriously gets hurt. That was too close!" He yelled out. There was a truth to it. He knew that he and Sachi had lost, and he was hurting pretty badly and quite low on chakra.

But the more important thing that was revealed to him just now was how dangerous it was to fight in this smoke. It would be very easy for one of them accidentally kill the other- Especially when only half of the fighters on the field could actively see what was going on.

"I'll even... Call it your win." He was willing to concede, if it meant everyone came out of this safe.
