Soar Above All. When Hanadoki had first met Shiratama, there wasn't much she wanted to say to him period. He had offered her dango and to be honest, she thought that was one of the oddest introductions ever. Despite that, she didn't really care or think about it too much, considering he was a Senju and she didn't associate with them, so they never even entered her mental space, unless for village business. Subjecting herself to their reign as Kouki had taken the place of her father, she was tempted to believe in the Senju slightl;y but before that sliver of hope could become anything more than just that, the only Senju she would even think of trusting died. That effectively killed all hope for the Senju in her mind, considering the girl felt like there was something about the Senju that had played a part in her father's death. Whether they admitted it or not. That alone was heart wrenching and then the simple fact that she had Oko, who was more than a handful on their team too. That was utterly ridiculous and unfortunate beyond means no man could understand.
Despite her putting up a barrier, Shiratama literally fought her tooth and nail in the sense that he refused to be ignored or just another object of annoyance in her life. He was worming his way in and for that she would have to applaud him. She remembered her words to Inokai, who had always tried to get her to like the Senju and or speak to them. Hanadoki kept her disdain quiet, one for clan purposes, and two, for the simple fact that she didn't need to speak to them to understand or rather for them to understand that she only dealt with them when she had to. Inokai had even dated Kazuto, who was a bastard of the Senju, and Inokai was telling her then that she would have to get over it at some point, which was true Hanadoki had yet to face the truth about a few things herself. Acting so mature and dealing with all the things she never had to deal with alone, but not knowing how to open up to people was another thing. opening up left you vulnerable, and if there was one thing the Uchiha didn't like being....vulnerable was it.
Hanadoki wore an expressionless mask as to stop people from understanding what her mental state was. As Shiratama already knew she was unstable, her emotions flip flopped in this moment, no matter how hard she tried to stay focused. Anything getting too stimulated forced her mind to focus on that route but she was doing okay for the time being. Having placed her emotions in a little boss, she'd be okay as long as she didn't dwell on any deaths for more than 6 seconds. The tension for her mentally was so bad she had a time limit for each thought that regarded a family member or her best friend's death. There wouldn't be another death on this mission, not as long as she was alive and fighting. As long as she held breath, she would protect Shiratama.
Hanadoki didn't think that Shiratama was a burden, even when her actions stated otherwise. Her sister's death was hitting her and she was allowing her emotions to effect her more than she really let on. Killing her emotions off for that brief moment, made her nervous, because if she shut down completely, how would she and Shiratama connect? They had no sensei.......they were alone and she NEEDED, to keep her mind clear so she could process any situations, as it wasn't only her life at stake. Losing Hiruko had been a major wound that continued to bleed but right now, whether she knew it or not, she needed Shiratama. Her mental state was more along the lines of 'I can't lose him too.' It was desperation, not only for him to live but for her to hold onto her sanity.
Hanadoki had always kept a grip on herself in case things happened, but when she lost her last sibling, that hurt more than she realized and that's when she knew that despite fighting Hiruko, tooth and nail. Hiruko had somehow wormed her way into her heart. Even so, by this point, Shiratama was vital, considering Hanadoki felt like those who got close to her died and if she said those words to him, Shiratama wouldn't leave her, that much she knew. They were partners in this and they were all the other had at this moment in time.
It wasn't that he was vital to her life essentially, but she just couldn't allow him to harm himself anymore than he already had. The young Uchiha wanted to stop that from happening, IF it was in her control and here, technically it was indeed. Joking with Shiratama was something she wasn't used to but watching him blush heavily and stammer over his words made her laugh a little bit considering he was always wearing a mask of happiness himself.
"Whaaaaa~ .. W-what do you m-m-mean?!”
"Well, that's not exactly a question I can answer, as only you know that. But when you become aware, please let me know." she'd laugh. Her body turning back to the path as to hide her face, so he couldn't read her expression. Refocusing though, she'd respond to his comments about Hiker Dan and his survival skills, though she did believe to have made it this far with tremors, he had to be something else. His will to live must have been tremendous, indeed. " Unfortunately, it's never that easy. He is the survivalist after all, so I'm sure he has at sustained an ample amount of stamina, just in case he ever needs to skedaddle make quick exits."
As they walked down the path, Hanadoki would sometimes end up rubbing shoulders with the Senju boy, which, in her mind was inevitable, due to the small space allowed through the caverns. She'd notice him looking away when it happened, but maybe he was making sure they were protected. He had a knack for trying to guard her, even if she was able to take care of herself. Even so, she dealt with it as he seemed to be telling her in his own way, that he planned on protecting her regardless of her own thoughts and abilities. It was almost as if she had no say in the matter and here would come the knight in shining armor to handle the Uchiha princess' light weight in combat.
It was then that her eyes were to be blinded for two seconds by the light of the room. Having been in the darkness with only a flashlight for so long, her eyes had adjusted to the darkness and were now switching over. The large cavern filled with stalagmites had a beauty to it, with fresh water, and in Hanadoki's mind, the only thing she could think of, was this being the halfway mark. Fresh water usually came from somewhere and that also meant, that there was more to this place than she originally thought. Shiratama bolted for the water and Hanadoki would simply walk after him, her eyes scanning the place and taking it all in. She knew the Senju could sense and she had noticed his body language enough to know when he was doing it, but even so, it was hard for her to let her guard down here.
Reaching the water's edge, she'd drop to her knees and drink some as well, feeling the revitalizing effect of the water, spread throughout her body. She hadn't really noticed how parched she was until now. Guess Shiratama had some good reactions, that became ideas after all. After that, she'd watch the male get comfortable and look around once more before allowing her guard to drop ever so slightly.
"Finally time to settle down, jeez I feel like we haven’t taken a break since we started this crazy mission”
Moving closer to the rock, she'd place herself right beside it before responding. She didn't want to be a buzz kill or anything of the like but her mind was still in mission mode and one of them had to be the weary one, to say the least. " Yeah, but we're still in the fire right now, and we have yet to find the source of this issue. Once we get out of here, we can really take a break." she'd respond, her voice going slightly cold again, not towards him but because she THOUGHT about the mission in it's entirety and sadly Hiruko came into play at the beginning of the mission.
Suddenly, Shiratama was like the little ray of sunshine as they talked and laughed a bit. Hanadoki wasn't one to lower her guard and to be honest, just being able to have conversation with him was nice. You wouldn't think Hanadoki had much to say but in all honesty, she did, she was just good at hiding it. It was a habit of defending herself and right now, even though, she knew it wasn't exactly true, she did feel somewhat protected, a light blush appearing on her face, every once in awhile, when she could hear his infectious laugh filling the large space. Though, this break had to come to an end as as her mind refocused on the mission, so did her resolve to finish for Hiruko.
As they separated for a moment to walk around the cavern, Hanadoki was mainly worried about those holes in the walls. Even though she couldn't tell what made them, the fact that bothered her most, was that they were there and were extremely large in size. That alone set off an alarm in her mind. However, as her eyes scanned every inch of the stalagmite lit room, the small flash of a red light caught her attention, and before she knew it herself, she had darted over. Looking down, she found it to be a camera, and a camera here meant that her earlier theory about Hiker Dan had been correct. He would travel the path least traveled, where the beast had emerged from. Hanadoki had stated earlier that if this was the case, and going this way, there were probably more beasts in the area, they just hadn't come across them like the one in the smaller cavern. At least, this time, if they did have to fight anything, it was a much larger space.
Calling to her teammate, she'd wave him over. "Shiratama, come look at this this!" she'd yell out just loud enough for him to hear. Watching the video, she realized there was more than one of those things they killed and that last scream it made, could have been anything. Hanadoki knew that the most dangerous times in any hunt, were when things were getting near the end. Whether it was a person or animal, when anything or one was locked in a corner with no where to turn, they would lash out, and there would be no restraint as that was their final stand. At that moment, the video went static and as soon as it did, chaos had emerged from the nearby holes she had been staring down so intently.
"I knew it was too good to be true." she'd say as Shiratama placed his back against hers, facing their opponents that seemed to take action immediately. "It's times to get to work then Senju and yeah, these don't have eyes at all. They must be able to sense it with our ground movements and or vibrations in the air." That would be all she could say before two of the beasts decided to gang up on her. Moving her back into Shiratama to get him out of the way, the beast that had reached for her arms lifted her into the air, but little did it know, that was where she excelled the most, in aerial combat. Handoki was generally like a fairy dancing around the field but she seemed to phase in and out of existence on the floor, her speed a testament to her father's training, even among some chunin.
As she was hoisted in the air, she'd yell out. "One just went underground! Don't worry about me!" she'd command, even though it was highly likely that he wouldn't follow that instruction. The grip on her arm was quite strong and she knew that this limb was a muscle as well. What got her was when the beast licked her face as soon as she was in the air. "HOW DARE YOU?" she'd practically shriek, before sucking in air and releasing a concentrated orb of ash into the beast's open mouth. The girl was absolutely mortified that this abhorrent beast, would DARE to touch her in such a manner. It had to die. There was no further mental discussion. Being so close, this was going to hurt a little bit but she didn't care for the collateral damage, at this point. It was inevitable with the damn thing licking her. Snapping her fingers, she make the orb explode, her goal was to not only blow off the arm holding her but the beast's mouth in the process, damaging it greatly, or possibly killing it. If it had sensing abilities as she assumed, the smoke moved in the air and the ash that came before it would have more than likely also attracted it's attention, if her theory was correct.
If this succeeded, she was hoping she would be let go and dropped to the floor. If that was the case, she would already be putting her hands together with the tiger and boar signs in preparation for another jutsu.
Jutsu used
1)NAME: Katon: Haigi [Fire Release: Ash Ceremony] RANK: C CHAKRA USAGE: Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: DESCRIPTION: Utilized without hand-seals, the user spits a small cloud of explosive ash from their mouth, no larger than a human head but creating a blast equivalent to two Explosive Tags. This technique often has to be combined with Katon: Hibana to be effective, and the chance of collateral damage is high if the user doesn't correctly read the wind movements before using. However the cloud of ash can only reach a maximum distance of 2m, meaning it's more often than not used as quick self-defense.
2) NAME: Katon: Hibana [Fire Release: Spark] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: DESCRIPTION: An incredibly simple technique requiring no hand seals, the user clicks their fingers and produces one or more small sparks.
Jutsu in Preparation
3) NAME: Katon: Faia Kasui no Jutsu [Fire Release: Fire Stream] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: 火 Katon | Fire DESCRIPTION: Activated by two handseals - Tiger then Boar. A skill where the user creates a small mass of fire within their hands, not having any really true shape but just being a wild flame. The flame is then aimed at the opponent and fired off as a stream for no further than eight feet from their person.
