Second Exam: Team A Sand & Leaf @ 2nd Ascension Sometimes the simplest of plans were the best working, it'd be especially true for this scenario. Tossing up two kunai with explosion notes, Asahi would destroy the wooden barrier with relative ease. A shrapnel shower of would be set both shinobi, as well as the two kunai, but a barrier broken was the progress they needed. What it'd prove was that there was in fact another barrier after it. A similar barrier would be an understatement as the next wall was quite literally the same in every way but position. That being it's position was next after the first wall. This would be one of four more remaining walls, but would the shinobi use the same method to bypass the next wall? It might of been a decision the two were against after the wooden rain. The threat of another wall and the lacking knowledge of how many walls left might cause the sand shinobi to not want to lose anymore of his tool too. The exploding notes would tell the duo a couple things: firstly, if the wooden slabs held any special properties and also if there was anything else this part of the race had up its sleeve. The Suna genin would use an arm to shield his face from the debris and as the smoke cleared noticed the door sized hole he had been able to make. It seemed that this indeed just a huge piece of wood which was a bit surprising, though looking past it would reveal why that was: there was another identical piece right behind it. Just great.

While these slabs of wood weren't particularly difficult to deal with by any stretch of the imagination Asahi now had to wonder just how many of these obstacles were in their way? Loosing a couple more kunai and exploding notes would probably be the fastest way to get through and using the remains of the previous wooden slab would protect them from new debris. However, the boy didn't want to go through his entire arsenal in this one part of the exam considering there was another obstacle to go in this race not to mention whatever the third part of the exams would entail; and being out of one of the most essential and basic ninja tools was not a situation he wanted to be in.

Looking to his teammate the boy would propose an idea: "Looks like exploding tags are the easiest way to go. Do you have any we can use to alternate? If not, I have a few more." Asahi would ask hopefully. If so, he would take a defensive position behind the first piece of wood and await the explosion. If not, though, the Suna genin would remove a couple exploding notes from his pouch and place them directly on the wood --this time saving a couple of kunai-- and getting to the aforementioned safe space before detonating hem. Hopefully there wouldn't be too many more of these wooden obstacles as they were much more annoying than actually difficult to deal with.

Second Exam

While the effort and for-thought had been well placed, it proved to be for a loss as when the debris fell, there was yet another barrier of wood blocking their path. Considering that it appeared of the same make and structure as the one prior, it could almost be assumed that there could very well be more set up as a means to delay their journey. But how many? As Miho would sigh with a calm expression, her head shaking upon hearing his question of if she carried explosives of her own. "I've never had a need for them before this moment, and frankly considering my acquired talents, I doubt I may ever again.." Flexing her hand into that of a closed and open fist, her eyes would then glance at the sheet of metal they had used before, still burned from it's previous exposure, but perhaps dense enough to grant them further usage. "I may have an idea though...perhaps a timed explosion, mounted with a heavy degree of force will pave the way..." With a smile, the girl would walk over to the object, pointing at it's sides. "I can throw this with enough ease that the impact alone could break through the wall itself. But, considering the similarity of it to the previous one, it can be almost a sure guess that there will just be another one waiting for us to deal with. So..Perhaps if we combine our efforts yet again, your explosives and good timing, my strength and accuracy, we can create enough of a controlled explosion that it should allow for a straight shot..." In saying this, the teen would then place one hand upon her hip with a frown. "Or I could be wrong and we've waited our time and energy on something so minor...its a fair assumption though that this is going to be a trend if we just break them down one by one..." His plan for shared detonations rendered inert via his teammates lack of appropriate arsenal, Asahi resigned himself to using more of his own exploding notes and hoped that he'd have at least a couple left over after all of this was said and done. There was no way to tell just how many of these wooden slabs were awaiting them, but if there was any silver lining it was that they had a quick,sure fire method of getting through them. Alas, Miho seemed to have come up with another idea that would put both of there talents to use... or at least hers.

Watching the girl walk over to the slab of metal they had used to get past the jet of flames from before, he listened as she suggested launching said metal into the wooden board then propelling it with the force from a couple exploding notes to rocket it through both this board and however many remained afterwards. Asahi pondered for a moment at the thought. She was definitely strong enough for such a feat, and if they could get the timing right a projectile of that size moving at that speed would definitely be able to burst through at least a couple wooden boards at the very least.

"Yeah I think that could work, just gotta get the timing right like you said." The genin would reply as he fished three more tags out of his munitions pouch; two would have probably done the trick but this was a race after all so they couldn't afford coming up a little short. The Suna genin would wait for his partner to lug the piece of metal over to them before attaching all three tags to the rear end. Now all that remained was the toss and the detonation. Too early and the some momentum would be lost in flight, too late and the momentum from the throw would be lost in the wooden slab.

Asahi would wait for Miho's throw and time his detonation as best he could for the moment of impact. Having to stay a ways back made it difficult to precisely time it, but the boy would try as best he could. Hopefully the plan would work and the duo would be well on their way to the next platform.

"Great! I was hoping I wouldn't sound crazy when I came up with that one! Let's get to it then..." With a cheerful grin, the girl would quickly clap her hands together, making her way over toward the slab with a calm expression. It was a radical idea to say the least, but she imagined it would be much like anything when pushed forward with enough force behind it. Her own strength, enhanced further with that of the momentum an explosive backing, would do exactly what she theorized. Of course, if she were wrong, than it would have much less of an impact. As she lifted the piece of metal, Asahi was quick to begin attaching the three notes of explosives to their required points on the object. This would then leave it to her to make the launch possible. Backing away, she'd then nod as she reeled her hand back, soon releasing the steel sheet much like it were a projectile. It's frame soaring through the air, Miho would watch carefully. It neared closer and closer to the halfway point, soon calling out in her partner's direction. "Now!" With that, she'd watch the note ignite, believing that the push would be all it took to break through the barrier. To barrel through with the extra excess of speed and power now rocketing the likely now warped metal piece and giving the two the way through that they needed. Though even Miho had to close her eyes a bit, watching with a single opened vision as she then looked over at the Sunagakure with her fingers crossed. "I didn't think it would actually go that fast...imagine that? Maybe this could actually be constructed into something more controlled one day..." Second Exam: Team A Sand & Leaf @ 2nd Ascension Combing Miho's chakra enhanced strength and Asahi's tools, it'd seem like a relatively easy task to blast through the walls. Though even combined the distance traveled and the total effort applied still only bust through two walls at once. The fourth wall would have the metal jabbed into it, forcing them to reclaim it, but with a second attempt of the method they'd easily break through the last two walls. Freedom from the oppressing walls of the race, would also be a freedom from the race. A platform with a door decorated with an almost finish flag would be just above them, upon passing through it's entrance they'd be greeted by the man from earlier. At the bottom of the tree, "It's nice to see you've made it to the finish line of this race." They'd state with a false smile, as their nationality made them secretly wish not the best for this duo. Though this was more a race than a danger, it was a test of each persons individual talents and strengths, as well as seeing how they'd apply them to a potentially team orientated race. Though so long as the two didn't tamper with each other, either could lead or make the path for the other. Allowing both shinobi a moment to catch their breath or make any last statements to each other, the man would then gesture for the two to follow him. "Alright, it's time we get moving to the final round of the exams." He'd state in a positive tone, as their was still time for the best and worst. It'd be quite interesting to see how they'd react to the final test. A hand gesturing them to follow, as he'd lead the two up a spiraling staircase built into the branches. It'd be basically the top of the tree, so the world was now semi-obscured by the huge branches splitting out into the world. I'm also assuming it's fair you'd use the same method again, since it's faster than the individual methods. If you disagree message me, but this'll get you done quicker. Almost assuredly.

The sight of a giant sheet of metal blasting through a slab of wood at high speeds was something that Asahi never believed he'd see, but two heads were often better than one and new perspectives led to innovation! Of course, innovation was dependent on whatever the people were trying to do actually working, and in this case it would be a clear path to the finish race. Once the rumblings of destruction had settled down Asahi would make his way through the remains of not one, but two wooden slabs. As Miho assumed, however, there were even more slabs that they'd have to take care of.

Monstrous strength aided by exploding notes hadn't been enough to power through all the obstacles, but progress was made nonetheless. The metal slab still looked to be in good enough shape for another go round should that be the duo's plan of action, and Asahi had just enough exploding notes left to help out. By his count they had made it through three boards and were now staring at a fourth. How many remained was a mystery but there surely couldn't have been too many left. "I guess we gotta do this again." He'd speak while fishing out more exploding notes.

Assuming there were no objections Asahi would wait until Miho dislodged the metal slab before slapping on the notes and awaiting the throw. If all went according to plan the piece of metal would blast through the two remaining pieces of wood leading them to sweet, sweet freedom.

The path to the next platform was a simple one and before them stood a door with a checkered pattern that kind of resembled a finish flag, not to mention the older guy who had escorted them from the maze earlier. His awkward congratulations on their completion of the race were welcome words and a sigh of relief would escape the boy's lips as he allowed himself a moment to relax. All things considered Asahi hadn't really used up a lot of chakra during this part of the exams which was good considering that whatever came next would surely require all the energy he could muster.

It had to be fights, right? That was the only thing he hadn't done yet --excluding the boars-- and could they really determine if a bunch of genin were ready to be promoted without gauging their prowess in battle? In a perfect world, maybe, but Asahi wasn't expecting to be that lucky.

Second Exam

Two attempts...it had taken two tries in which to finally break through. While the ease of lifting such an object was becoming more and more stressful, the teen had managed to do so for a second time, granted the aid of the Suna nin's explosive to finally reach the other side. Releasing a heavy breath, Miho would find herself becoming increasingly exhausted. An error in excessing her own limits on her own part. Despite her control, there was still much to be desired in the part of having the required chakra to maintain a continued point of strength for so long. But, the results could not be ignored, with her soon moving after Asahi upon being greeted by the proctor on the other side. While he appeared less than thrilled at their arrival, he did at least welcomed them to the finish line. In leading them to a spiral staircase, the brunette would look around her briefly, then finally letting her gaze linger to the shinobi at her side. It was likely that the final event would be combat, as it had been a lingering matter since the very start of the exams. Her chakra was certainly starting to dwelled at this point, but she had managed to maintain at least enough of it for the final leg. But would it be enough? It was possible that she may not be able to relay on her strength for the coming battles, yet if there were no other options, she'd be forced upon it. Still, her wits had gotten her just as far as brute strength. Perhaps thinking her way through this would be the wiser course in proceeding forward. Still, the question of if they'd be fighting was still in the air. It wasn't a certainty. Only time would tell... And if it were, would she be having to deal with her current partner in getting this far? He was aware now of her abilities, or at least a few of them. That made her lose any possible element of surprise if she were to face off against him. These were the question coming to her as they began their ascent, her gaze shifting away from the boy and to the man who was their guide through this entire test. I've come too far to lose here...I have to pass...I will pass..
