Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Reiki would retrieve his blade and everyone would move closer to the center stage. There'd be traded glances and growing tension, as the field shrunk, but despite peoples plans and concerns nothing happened. No line of thought dedicated to swiping one person out over another, but instead a group will to survive and a back thought of pushing at the end. However this was more than a test, it was a show for the villages to judge these shinobi. Hesitation would and patience would make time move quickly, as their was nothing to really scale it on. However that'd come to an end as the clock would hit it's second tick, another layer of the closing ring would suddenly shatter to split the silence. However it'd not come alone, as the sound of boards collapsing into the tree line was heard, so would the cranking sound of inner mechanisms on the center piece. The cats fallen paw raising first, as the clocks hand would move around, but as it was reaching the raised height it started. The chain above it would seemingly straighten and tighten, to only be followed by it tugging the massive gold cat upwards. The raising cat shaped statue would be slow due to it's overall weight, but the slow rise would only add tension, as it'd seem something was underneath what'd appear to be a hollowed out inside. Before anything came into the light of day though, a massive and violent whistle would echo from the idol. Afterwards would come a very powerful gust of wind, it'd originate from underneath the rising statue. A pushing force from the inside outwards, hitting those closest the hardest. It'd not be a single blast, but instead feel like a passing storm. SPOILER: Click to show Force of Wind; if you're on the inner most circle you're going to be violently sent to the third and now outer most circle of the falling platform. Violently means you'll not only be pushed, but likely take small cuts and decent concussive force all around. Those who're in the next ring will be pushed to the same ring and without a stopping measure taken, flung off the platforms completely. You'll take cutting force from the expelled wind, but they'll be more push than actual concussive force. Those at the farthest ring out will also be pushed off the platform if no stopping measure is taken, but at this point there's no cutting or concussive force, merely a flurry of wind in the face. Due to the last round being so sparse in action, I'm going to allow you all to better define which ring you're standing on to start. I'd like the majority of your posts to be reacting to the burst of wind, as all rings require some action to be taken to stay on. I'll define the next rotation based on placement and actions, but try to avoid going past the initial reaction. Posting Order: Reiki, Ouritsu, Miho and then Asahi. Battle Royale

The winds were hellishly brutal, designed to inflict damage and push him back. It was sudden, but he had to protect his face at least, so his arms would attempt to cross over his head to at least keep the function of the frame working without damage. Annoying considering the nature of the stage, but with his expertise in physical movement and recovery, he would balance himself as he slid back to find himself onto the third ring. A slight bit of damage to the body, but it was best for his arms to take the impact rather than the head. He wasn't knocked off the stage either, his sliding mitigating the distance with firm feet against the floor, bringing him to the third ring, but closer towards the second. That was a fair price to pay. But in that span of time, the other three were threatened off of the stage if they didn't do anything to prevent it, though...

Reiki knew better than to stand around. It would have been suicide to stand still and brace for the winds yet again, and so he would swiftly hop back towards the second ring, in which he expected the others to be back. But he was going to have to brace for more action against the winds, for if they remained and he stood this close, he was going to take far too much damage. Maybe he could put up some form of armor. The others were in a critical state of losing, he just merely took some damage, he'll keep it a surprise. Besides, there was a certain stage he would have to use if he wanted to act.

Maybe he'll have to be the one to initiate combat, without an elimination, he would have to settle with what he had. Again, he couldn't. It would only be in a matter of time. For now, he stood firm on the second ring.

Enhanced Eyesight
The user's eyesight is heavily enhanced, even without the use of the Tennogan. The smallest details could be observed as if it were in front of the user should the distance between them not exceed 30 meters. Peripheral vision also seems as clear as if it were the main sight of focus.

Quickdraw
The user is far more aware of their surroundings, reflexes being enhanced a mighty amount. On top of this, their body is designed to be more swift and prepare to carry out quick tasks that the normal body may not be able to do in time. As the user learns more about physical combat, their movement speed and attack speed will be even more advanced. Though the difference is barely noticeable at the start, the gap between the user and an average ninja will grow tremendously.

A bunch of shifting around to ensure that falling off of the platform would not be the end of their exams, but other than that not too much of anything. The first go round drew battle lines, which was to be expected, but a second time around with nothing was a little surprising. Ouritsu normally would have been the first to start the fray but he was trying to actively work on his patience and was holding himself back; though the people had come for a show and he was itching to give them one.

The clock would hit its second mark and another ring would fall prey to the forces of gravity, too much longer and all four of them would be bumping elbows. The Nohime's eyes would shift from the falling platforms to the sound of a chain being strung high and metal being lurched into the air: the huge cat statue was moving. Well this was interesting. The boy wasn't sure what was to come next to be honest. Were they trying to make it harder to see the clock and determine when the next ring was going to fall? That would certainly make things more interesting, and with one less thing in their active field of vision the four of them would be more willing to fight. "Guess they wanted the action to start t--" Words cut short by a massive gust of wind that sent the genin sliding back, its origins from a pipe that was sitting underneath the statue.

The force of the wind coupled with the shrinking stage meant that if the boy didn't do something quick he was going to find himself flying off the platform in a matter of seconds. Quickly clapping his hands together Ouritsu would channel chakra to his feet to slow and eventually stop his momentum at the outermost platform. The whipping winds didn't show any signs of stopping and it'd be tough for any of them to try and attack without jeopardizing themselves in the process, so for now the genin would focus on keeping himself on the platform.

Final exams

Competition meant that everyone was trying to do everything in their power to succeed. So far, no one had really made much in terms of an advantage to get ahead. Perhaps out of honor? Or maybe respect for their partners, despite their foreign origins. It was the first time she had seen such a display of control from people of opposite sides of the world. Did they not understand the future? That in the end, there was a good chance that these very same people would be facing them on the other side of the battlefield? Was this respect the very reason she herself had not acted sooner? Likely.. But as they began to advance toward the center of the ring, the divide between them grew ever shorter. She could see it, and knew that it was only a matter of time before a clash would begin. Everything within her was limited to a selection of two moves, the rest would have to be left to fate. But if she did this, it would likely mean full on engagement between everyone. But sadly, that was the state the world. While they could imagine that there was a chance that all of them could come to terms, that perhaps...there was hope for a world-wide peace...it wasn't to be. As a medic, she knew the value of life, but if it came down to that of one from her village, and that from an enemy nation..in her heart of hearts...she knew which would likely get the better care. It wasn't anything bias..but human nature. Alliances counted, and if that same person had nearly killed you, only to find themselves dying slowly on the field...you'd leave them to die. Drawing Tanto from the back of her waist, she'd stab it down into the ground, digging it deep within it's surface as she drew in close to the second ring close to the center, her chakra enhanced limbs granting her speed to move in. But, as she did so, her hand would already have moved back, a glowing fist ready to strike as she pounded her hand down upon the surface of the ground, attempting to force a shift in the weight as a means to topple her opponents. With her hand reaching back to the short sword embedded deep, the impact would ripple across the ground, allowing her to wait for the eventual reaction to the teetering platform against such a force. SPOILER: Click to show -SA- Samurai Legacy The Adachi clan was a prominent group of samurai that were established within Tetsu no Kuni(The Land of Iron), before the group transferred a select few to the Hidden Leaf Village as to their alliance to Konohagakure. These traits have been ingrained into the girl very soul as she carries their blood within her. As such, along with the training she received from her father and those in the clan, Miho has developed enhanced reflexes. This allows her to react much more quickly in combat, better enabling her to avoid dangerous situations and defend herself almost instantaneously than normal. Tensions were high, anything could have popped off at a moments notice and yet... there was nothing. Everyone shifted around ready for a fight and it seemed that none of the four had decided to team up for now so it was paramount that Asahi keep his head on a swivel. One section of the platform had already broken off shrinking their battlefield and it was only a matter of time until it happened again; and soon enough the four combatants would be too close not to throw a punch out of sheer paranoia. It hadn't happened yet, but it was surely coming.

The arm on the clock had once again reached a designated point and where the genin was expecting yet another layer of the platform to fall to the earth below the statue would instead begin to lift into the air. Asahi was expectedly confused and wondered what changes were about to come to this phase of the exams. Thinking back on the old man's words there hadn't been any mention of something like this happening, but it shouldn't have been a surprise that those in charge would change things up without any warning; or maybe they were getting restless from the lack of fighting? If the crowd watching the arena below had been up here there would have surely been some jeers and sneers by now, and to be honest it was surprising that no one had taken the initiative to get the festivities started.

Alas, the fighting would have to wait even more as a violent blast of wind would emanate from the gaping hole that the giant cat statue had left behind. The Suna genin's position put him in the direct path though it wasn't as bad as the Kumo shinobi who was basically standing in the middle of the ring. Nevertheless, the force was more than enough to push Asahi back and if he didn't do something soon falling off the edge was going to be a real possibility. Clapping his hands together quickly, the boy would channel chakra to his feet to try and keep himself in place, though now taking the full force of the wind was slowly nicking and cutting at his arms, legs, and face.

Using up chakra for stuff like this wasn't in his plan at all but it was better than getting flung off the stage. Anyone having to deal with this would have a tough time trying to actually fight so hopefully all Asahi had to worry about was keeping himself firmly planted.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches The lack of action taken by the genin was quite disappointing as a form of visual entertainment. The last platform dropping might of triggered a gust, but sometimes chaos was the best time to act. Any move made them could of been a move to end another's chance. Perhaps they'd grown to fond of each other or perhaps they wanted to abuse the fact there was nothing standing to force them to fight. Sadly thought not fighting wasn't going to be an option, as if they wouldn't fight for the exam, then the exam would fight them for it. The winds initial blast would die down and with it the now slightly swaying statue would fully rise. It'd body disappearing into the tree cover, so in fact watching the clock would be impossible. They'd have to use that internal clock to judge the next drop, but their minds would likely focus on something else instead. As the source of the wind wasn't a pipe, it'd soon be revealed a figure was under the statue. An adult individual whose eyes would pierce the darkness of the statue's shadow, a copper tone with an almost catlike appearance. Anyone who'd seen the last Battle for Supremacy would recognize the figure as the villages Jinchuuriki. The shinobi who'd gone full beast to fight a giant and managed to go back too. The woman would immediately after finishing the powerful gust shoot off, veering past the Nohime as she'd be line to Reiki. She was incredibly fast and with an untapped stamina, her freshness in this fight was clear. She'd give the poor Kumogakure shinobi only a second really to react, her aim in this event was quite simple. Knock the shinobi out of the ring, the closest to the edge first. Reiki not implementing anything other than force to hold ground would of been pushed back the farthest. The first target. She'd however if uninterrupted, attempt a powerful kick to the males chest. A high kick from a lower position, as to attempt to send him upwards and backwards. As to give him less chance to use friction to save him, her kick would not only attempt to send him back, but also to re-route her attack. As to make sure no student got special treatment, she'd shoot towards the other side of the ring. This time aiming a similar kick to Asahi, but unlike before she'd approach from around the ring. Ouritsu wondered how long the windy assault would continue and if he'd have the reserves to hold out. Granted, in normal situations maintaining a steady flow of chakra to his feet wouldn't have been a problem, but after all the events of today he was counting every last drop. Would they not be satisfied until someone got blown off the platform? Punishment for such a lackluster fight seemed awfully petty and if the proctors wanted more action then they shouldn't have put in the option for the four of them not to fight. The overall goal was to make it to the end and that was obtainable without anyone being knocked out, and considering how tired all the contestants were it honestly wasn't a terrible idea.

Almost on cue the violent gust would begin to die down almost as if it noticed that none of the contestants were going to be blown away. The giant cat statue would continue to rise into the treetops making it now impossible for Ouritsu to see the timer. It'd now be little more than a guessing game trying to figure out when the next platform would fall --even more difficult if he was in the middle of a fight-- but where his gaze was once at the statue it now shifted to the shadow it casted on the ground below. A pair of piercing orbs leered out at the four of them, an animal of some sort? No, it looked too tall and bipedal.

Before he could even utter a word the figure raced past him in a blur, its target seeming to be Reiki. Releasing the chakra from his feet Ouritsu would turn to see the woman's would be assault on the Kumo shinobi before zipping off and heading for the Suna kid. She was ridiculously fast and even if they hadn't been put through the ringer before this it would have been a challenge keeping up with her; and for that the Iwa shinobi was thankful he had not been the target of an attack... yet.

Battle Royale

It was lucky of him to make it without having to put too much effort. He saved himself some space, giving him time to react. To what? Well, the clock possessed another surprise. The goal was to survive, the arena wanted them dead. Everyone was reluctant, they all wanted to win but no one wanted to be ganged up on. There was no incentive to be an instigator, especially with his set of eyes.

As for that aforementioned surprise, there was a hidden shinobi aiming directly at him. There was no denying that he could see her thanks to his eyes, but his speed was severely lacking compared to hers. Quickdraw can only push him through so much and he was given merely a second to react. There was no thought in his next move, he had to rely off of instinct.

With what came next was the world seeming as though it slowed down. Everyone was so still except for him, he was capable of walking normally and the only one that seemed to move was the shinobi that attacked him, if one considered slow-motion to be movement. But this was of no surprise to him, he full-well knew the truth behind this phenomenon.

One spark.

And then two...

Who was REALLY the fast one here?

In real time, this pause never happened at all. But with the sudden burst of lightning came a vision that seemed so swift, as if everything slowed down for Reiki. It was damning enough for him to have the awareness of his eyes, but now he had even more speed to back up the awareness. Quickdraw multiplied the effects and you have an explosive genin.

Lightning Release Armor... The second stage. Reiki's sole ace. As for how long he can hold it, that's a tough question. But he had the intention of using it long enough to stall to the end. He needed to push himself to the limit, and now he was under the guise that this shinobi was targeting him solely.

For that, he intends to strike back.

Perhaps not at the speed of lightning, but Reiki was swift enough to vanish from the eyes of those that don't have enhancements to back them up. The kick to the chest provided no chakra behind it, the armor could have easily taken the hit without a problem. But that was a secret he still intends to keep.

Right now, it was just time to dance. And so he swiftly jumped above her, seemingly disappearing for the moment. Visually, he would have returned a quarter of a second later, right above his attacker with an extended leg, a chakra-filled dropkick to the head. Merciless, but she was trying to cost him the exams. Girochin Doroppu. Omae wa mou shindeiru?

Whatever it was, he intended to shake this attacker with the explosive dropkick, enhanced with the properties of the lightning armor's speed, quickdraw, and his own taijutsu strength. Whatever the result, if that kick landed anywhere, it was bound to cause a massive surge of lightning. A massive lightning clap and a lightning-filled air for those on the arena to feel, a mere 30 meters was not enough to hold the lightning armor's weight in impact. Not an attack, a mere intimidation aftereffect. If a bloodthirsty crowd didn't like something such as that, there was nothing to appreciate in their minds. This was the genin exam.

If the dropkick found success, this was caused by a genin's strength. While the armor possessed heavy strength behind it, that was caused by the speed rather than the power. What did this mean? The armor boosted the impact, but it did not manipulate the physical strength of his body. It was the kick that boosted the default taijutsu specialist's impact. This was not going to put the shinobi out of commission.

There was no way to predict the intentions of the shinobi, but the attempt must have at least put her attempts to eliminate any other competitors to a halt. She might not be satisfied with a lack of an elimination. If she were, the other's were happy pickings, he wasn't dropping the armor anytime soon with her presence.

From there, it would be a simple backwards somersault into a backflip, though his speed would make it appear as those he disappeared and reappeared again. The wind didn't scare him, he just survived elimination.

In case he failed to carry out the task, his dropkick did have to commit. The lightning armor did not deny physics. But it would be a quick landing with his speed before he rolled away, then jumped away from the shinobi he missed, all at vision-hazing speed. He wanted to stay away from the edge, but he would gladly take the second ring over the first if it meant survival.

Moderate Chakra Control
Reiki now understands how chakra flows and how to send it through the chakra points at a decent speed. On top of this, he minimizes the chakra burn when using his techniques to a point where he can last longer than the average shinobi of his level and give his techniques the maximum effectiveness in doing so.

CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu

DESCRIPTION:
The user wraps their body in a cloak of Raiton though not used offensively, the cloak is used to stimulate the users nervous system. Speeding up neural synapses to react faster, as well as pushing the users body to its absolute limit, allowing for tremendous physical fortitude. The increase in defense coming from the user using the cloak like an armor allowing them to brush off must B rank and lower Physical attacks, and A-rank and below Raiton techniques, and B-rank or lower elemental Ninjutsu attacks (C ranked if Fūton). Because of the nature of this stage being more defensive, an increase in speed is present but decreased a slight amount. though the fatigue and overexertion affects still apply.

Fatigue accumulates in this phase quickly and rather than being like the S-rank version in being used in bursts can be used ruminatively for a total of (10) ten rounds before death, each post exerting the user more than the last.

The user jumps into the air and, using their momentum and weight, performs a downwards kick to crush their opponent beneath them. A user, in theory, can split a boulder in two with this technique.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Reiki wasn't the luckiest shinobi this exam so far and things didn't seem to change in his favor. As the jounin targeted him first, but more importantly despite everyone not fighting each other. It'd seem the mentality wasn't quite teamwork, as the jounin would pass Ouritsu with zero attempt to interrupt. A reasonable decision though, as points were earned from being the least left and not from preventing the numbers from dropping. However unlike Reiki the rest of the genin candidates were extremely lucky. As the cloud shinobi wouldn't only have a means to react to the Jinchuuriki's charge, but he'd also have a means to attempt combat. He'd not just forget these means or run from the challenge, but instead he'd attempt to confront it head on. Her orders were to knock them all out and to go for those on the edge first. Amplifying her game as the clock came closer to calling the fight, but with him not only being able to see her, dodge her and prepare an attack. He'd ultimately catch more interest than any genin regularly should, but he had a talent which gave him speed. Etsuko though was a proud kunoichi and boldly claimed to be the fastest, so this would go from a trivial matter to a personal one. Her kick missing she'd just barely shift her gaze up to Reiki, she'd been used to high speed combat. Though her reflexes weren't spoken in legend, he was still something in her rank and experience could be followed. At least the motions. Her head tilting like a confused cat she'd seem stopped for a second, as though stuck to be hit by Reiki's attack. He'd however come down upon nothing, as with a swirling breeze she'd disappear from below him in a blur. His keen sight would see the direction the blur had went, so upon re-looking onto her position he'd be met with her gaze. A feral look in her eyes as a grin would stretch across her cheeks. He couldn't see it but wind nature flushed from her pours, as she'd mostly focus this nature to her feet. She'd be ready to shift to any position now, as the arena size to her technique was pathetic. Unlike the genin she wouldn't be limited to this arena, as there was no disqualifying her. She'd have to test this boys speed and awareness, as curiosity had now gotten the better of her. Vanishing with a kick of wind and a cracking of the wooden arena, Etsuko would draw her trick weapon and thrust it for the genin's gut. Attempting to literally push through him in one blinding blur, she'd wondered if he'd block, dodge and if an attempt at her would be made again. Her hopes were high and now the rest were momentarily spared. How they'd use this moment to collect themselves was unclear, but the two fighting would be in a speed near impossible for any to follow. SPOILER: Click to show Posting Order: Asahi, Miho, but as a note I'm going to spoiler what's actively in use, as well as state the speed and intensity was intended to be saved for the end. So expect second gaps for these decisions, if you're planning to do something involving the jounin. Otherwise you're totally free to attempt to combat each other. SA: Whirlwind Step #1 (Basically her wind makes her faster.) Etsuko is well known for her speed, she's by no means weak, but her pace is high beyond most. The first reason being her style of fuuton assisting her bukijutsu, she uses her chakra almost purely to assist her movements. Due to this she's mastered her evasive and speed enhancing fuuton to a great degree, she'd often referred to as having the ability to walk on air. Using wind currents she's able to pull and push herself around a fight, while using shift and her higher level Bukijutsu she's able to make these movements at the fastest pace in the least amount of time. Her Jinchuuriki status has greatly helped her manage the chakra lose involved in using such supplementary jutsu. Her whirlwind step though also refers to her uncanny ability to charge an opponent and instead of lunging at them, she almost gravitates around a person when charging, keeping a small distance between her and her opponent allowing maximum trick weapon efficiency. Weighted Training #2 (She isn't in weights hence her initial speeds.) Relying almost entirely upon her CQC skills Etsuko doesn't take her training lightly, she in order to improve her natural strength as well her human speed, has spent the past nine years weight training with a specially designed cloak. In lesser situations she'll even wear the cloak into combat, as it's material is quite durable and the weights hidden inside it act as armor. Half of the weights in her cloak have been broken due to her wearing it into battle, though she's made it habit to remove the cloak before winning a fight. It being an all white cloak she dislikes it getting blood, but once removed the girls speed seems to double and the fact she can wear the cloak all day unhindered, she also free's up enough carrying strength to carry her whole team once the cloaks removed. Nibi Jinchuuriki #5 (Even more speed and disgusting reserves.) Etsuko is well known in her village for being the Nibi Jinchuuriki, her eyes are that of the cats and her hair naturally stands in two cats ears at the top of her head. Even as a child without any ability to call upon she was noticed for her kitty similarities. Etsuko however has been mostly in denial of her potential power limits, even knowing Matabi as a giant chakra structure Etsuko has always seen the two-tails as more of an idol or friend, than a means of power. Her natural element feeding Nibi's flame but not being Etsuko's own personal strength, so instead of brandishing cloaks of fire she remains normally quite unchanged ability wise. Her weapon usage even means she understand little if any of her ability to extend her nails into claws, but the Nibi didn't leave her unblessed. Whatever was causing this massive gale seemed to have it out for all of them as everyone was getting pushed back, closer and closer to the edge, almost as if its sole purpose was to eliminate one of the genin if they wouldn't take it upon themselves. Just as quickly as it arrived, however, the wind was subside leaving only the dark shadow of the giant cat statue that was being hoisted even higher in the air. It'd be near impossible to see the clock now which made figuring out when the next ring fell a glorified guessing game; though if the four of them kept this pace up it wouldn't be difficult make moves when necessary.

Unfortunately it seemed as though the proctors had their fill of the non-combat and would force these genin to fight... even if it wasn't against each other. Asahi had just been able to catch a glimpse of what looked like some sort of cat like creature before it dashed off in a blur towards the shinobi from Kumo. Whoever that woman was definitely wasn't a genin and she seemed poised to take the kid out with a downward kick, but in an astonishing turn of events the boy was able to evade with even quicker speed. Asahi couldn't believe his eyes as the next thing he saw was a streak of lightning aimed at the mystery woman, but after that... nothing. Well, flashes of people moving about but the two were moving at such high speeds that trying to keep up would be a tall task.

Miho aside, the Suna genin didn't know what exactly the other two genin were capable of which was part of his hesitation up to this point but it seemed like he wouldn't have been able to keep up with Reiki anyway. That only left the purple haired kid from Iwa and he hadn't shown off any abilities of his own so there was no telling what was waiting up his sleeve. His former partners monstrous strength made challenging her tricky as getting i too close would leave him open for some major damage, and she was liable to just pick him up and toss him off the stage. Well this was no fun. An extra combatant who was at least a couple ranks higher than him having a speed battle with one of the contestants while still having to deal with the other two genin possibly starting to make their moves.

Fine. Whatever. He was going to have to do something sooner rather than later but now the only question was what would he do? Asahi could stay on the defensive and prepare himself to counter an assault or turn up the heat and make things interesting. Granted, the latter would eat up a good bit of chakra and he wanted to save some for his ace technique. A second of thought then a plan came to mind. Protection first then the fun stuff.

The boy would perform a single seal before slapping his hand on the ground and on it the kanji for 'smoke' would appear; after a moment or two a thick plume of smoke would burst from the seal concealing the genin. Releasing the chakra from his feet Asahi would take two steps to the left still ensuing that he was within the smoke before performing another set of seals. From his tenketsu would emanate super heated Shakuton chakra that would begin to immensely heat the air around him in a ten meter radius. The very moisture would begin to evaporate from the air and in time burns would begin to appear on exposed skin, but what was probably the defining part of this technique was that the friction caused by moving would be worse than standing still, which made both running away and trying to charge in for attacks very risky moves. With that said, a technique this stationary probably wasn't ideal in a free for all match, but hopefully the smoke would deter the others long enough; not to mention the two speedsters --if they were unlucky enough to be in the range-- would definitely feel the effects with all the moving around they were doing.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Asahi would take action and create cover, as well as to start upping the heat. However he was on the other side of the center point from Etsuko, Reiki and Ouritsu, so with each ring being roughly five meters. Neither would be immediately effected by the jutsu, but the contestant from Konoha would begin feeling the heat hit them. Maybe caught in awe or simply unsure on the next move, there'd be no immediate reaction from Miho. It'd seem for the moment the Nibi Jinchuuriki was to face off with the cloud shinobi alone, but Ouritsu was still not to far from that battle. He would however be mostly ignored in this situation, but more so out of a lack of action to react to. The crowd would be doing their best to watch the action and so far there were only a select few really showing off in this battle. Half of the weights in her cloak have been broken due to her wearing it into battle, though she's made it habit to remove the cloak before winning a fight. It being an all white cloak she dislikes it getting blood, but once removed the girls speed seems to double and the fact she can wear the cloak all day unhindered, she also free's up enough carrying strength to carry her whole team once the cloaks removed. Battle Royale

Upon landing the kick to the ground, the lightning surged massively before he stepped onto the second rind immediately, his eyes tracking where his opponent blurred off towards. Tracking her wasn't hard, it was the identifying of the source that was a problem, immediately bringing him to another conclusion. Her speed was somehow just as fast as a stage of the Lightning Armor... That's not a good thing, that's what he relied on if anything! And that sadistic grin, he could only match it with clenched teeth and glaring blue eyes to show of his disapproval. They were on equal footing in terms of speed, damn...

There seemed to be a bit of smoke out in the corner of his eye, not that his tired mind would allow him to really care. It had one focus and one focus alone, the insane woman who has it out for him. What the absolute hell was her problem!?

But there was no time for questions, she lunged at him swiftly with a weapon, in which he was forced to step to the side, phasing like a bolt of lightning to the average eye. Did she have enhanced eyesight? If not, perhaps he had something to go off of, but there was no way to confirm nor deny it, so taking chances would be risky. As for where she would aim, she would have gutted him... And what a day that would have been, out of all times as well. Did she know...? She probably DID know...

The dance had to continue, the other three competitors could do as they like, his only focus would be on his swift equivalent. Perhaps not equivalent, it wouldn't be long before he had to fizz out, this was a desperate push for the end of the round. Still, he needed to send her AWAY!

Those he phased slightly too the side, it wasn't too far from her, a meter was reasonable for a sidestep such as that, sliding on his feet and swiping the tanto from his waist. The instant he did it, his body would turn before lunging with his own weapon, holding it up defensively with the flat end of the weapon to act blunt rather than sharp. Why? The "Attack" was a push, something that didn't have his momentum launch himself off the second ring and would attempt to threaten her towards the edge. That had to distract for at least a little!

A side effect to this would be in case she aims to counter attack, in which he can move the blade to prevent himself from being stabbed, making the basic weapon his shield. Basic... Under the defensive nature of his armor, there was plenty of mitigation.

The lightning surged violently with each step to match hers, they exchanged evasion after evasion with speeds that blinded those who watched. A jutsu was coming for them, but that can solve itself later. If he took his eyes off of the woman for at least a second, he'll find himself eliminated.

No... He wasn't going to let her do that, he was going to endure her barrage!

Enhanced Eyesight
The user's eyesight is heavily enhanced, even without the use of the Tennogan. The smallest details could be observed as if it were in front of the user should the distance between them not exceed 30 meters. Peripheral vision also seems as clear as if it were the main sight of focus.

Quickdraw
The user is far more aware of their surroundings, reflexes being enhanced a mighty amount. On top of this, their body is designed to be more swift and prepare to carry out quick tasks that the normal body may not be able to do in time. As the user learns more about physical combat, their movement speed and attack speed will be even more advanced. Though the difference is barely noticeable at the start, the gap between the user and an average ninja will grow tremendously.

Moderate Chakra Control
Reiki now understands how chakra flows and how to send it through the chakra points at a decent speed. On top of this, he minimizes the chakra burn when using his techniques to a point where he can last longer than the average shinobi of his level and give his techniques the maximum effectiveness in doing so.

The user wraps their body in a cloak of Raiton though not used offensively, the cloak is used to stimulate the users nervous system. Speeding up neural synapses to react faster, as well as pushing the users body to its absolute limit, allowing for tremendous physical fortitude. The increase in defense coming from the user using the cloak like an armor allowing them to brush off must B rank and lower Physical attacks, and A-rank and below Raiton techniques, and B-rank or lower elemental Ninjutsu attacks (C ranked if Fūton). Because of the nature of this stage being more defensive, an increase in speed is present but decreased a slight amount. though the fatigue and overexertion affects still apply.

Fatigue accumulates in this phase quickly and rather than being like the S-rank version in being used in bursts can be used ruminatively for a total of (10) ten rounds before death, each post exerting the user more than the last.

Ouritsu couldn't believe his eyes, well, if he could have kept up then he wouldn't have been able to believe them. The mystery woman who had raced past him and headed straight for Reiki seemed to have any intention to end his participation in the exams in one fell swoop but as fate would have it she decided to take on the one person who could not only evade her attack, but was brazen enough to fight back; and from what little he could tell the Kumo shinobi was keeping the Nibi at bay. It was then that Ouritsu realized why his former partner was so confident on getting them past the walls of flame earlier with his speed, but there was no way he would have guessed Reiki was this fast.

Well, assuming those two would be locked into their tussle for the time being that left only a couple targets left: the spectacled one and the girl. They had done nothing of note up to this point so there was no telling what abilities they had up their sleeve, but at this point it was either fight them or risk that woman turning her sights on him. Welp, now the question was which one? He didn't have many, if any, techniques that could strike at multiple targets so unless they magically stood right next to each other he was going to have to focus on a single target. However, fate would intervene once again as a plume of smoke would envelop the genin from Suna who seemed to finally be making a move. Ouritsu waited for a few moments to see what would come of it but... there was nothing. Regardless, running head first into a cloud of smoke would not be a wise decision which left only the girl.

Granted, he could still do nothing but standing around had already angered the proctors to the point of throwing in a high ranking combatant, and if that wasn't enough of a hint to get a move on then he was hopeless. Ouritsu would move around just a bit to put some distance between Reiki and his opponent --wouldn't want to catch a stray kick to the face-- before focusing his sights on the girl. A small string of seals would come before a swirling mass of leaves would wisp around her, and if successful the very next image she saw would be that of her deepest fear. It wasn't the most powerful genjutsu in the world but if it could distract the girl long enough for a follow up attack then it would have more than served its purpose.

This is a genjutsu that reveals the fears that dwell inside people's hearts. Everyone has an image of the one thing they wouldn't want to ever see. This genjutsu is a technique that draws forth such an image from within the heart and has one mistake it for reality. First, an imaginary circle of leaves will spin around and envelop the target, falling away shortly after. After a short period, the illusion will begin. This is to make the illusion more convincing, since the user will likely have moved before the illusion sets in. If the mental image is a gruesome one, the shock will be accordingly great.

Outside of what sounded like small lightning bolts firing off in the not so far distance Asahi had little idea what was going on outside his supposed safe haven of a smoke bomb. It wasn't necessarily the smartest move to virtually blind himself but considering the jutsu he was using worked best when he was stationary it was the only way to give him the needed time and space; not to mention the rapidly rising heat in the area providing resistance against anyone who got the bright idea to try and run in on him.

The effects of the smoke seal wouldn't last for too much longer and it'd be tough to keep the jutsu going when people could see that he wasn't really doing all that much aside from concentrating, so he needed to get as much heat in the air as he could to try and get the maximum amount of damage. Past that, there wasn't much else the Suna genin could do other than keep an eye out for incoming attacks. If he could get the others to second guess moving around a lot then determining the pace of battle would be easier and maybe, just maybe, he'd be able to knock one of the other genin out.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Ouritsu would choose to go after the kunoichi from Konoha, as Asahi continued to hold up his defensive ground. These probably weren't bad tactics, as neither would draw the now centered attention of the jinchuuriki in the room. Along with the fact that Reiki had taken a state fast enough to match her, he'd however not have something as solidified. His technique although possibly one of the greatest speed enhancers, it'd have no where near the practice of her swift shooter technique. She was more than able to rely upon it at greater level than the genin. She'd reach his destination to only be dodged again, it was good to know his movements weren't flukes. Though his moves wouldn't go without reaction, as she'd miss another attack she'd exhale. A very normal act, but one she could abuse to her advantage. Her fuuton so skilled she'd release her chakra simply in that deep exhale, it'd create an almost unseen bubble of detection. Often used to better guide the next attack she had planned for the genin, as she'd let him come at her before reacting. Using her swift shooter, she'd last second turn to face Reiki. Her movements would be acted upon while engaging the special feat of her trick weapon. It'd launch forth a hidden blade, which would be strung to the main part of the weapon. Her shift to turn to him disguising it under normal pretenses, as she'd not only turn to him, she'd push forward to meet his weapon with her own. Deadlock him mid charge likely just before he'd planned to stop and knock her back. At the same time though the launched blade, would circle around Etsuko's back. I'd move with similar speed to herself and him, as it'd loop over her right side. The weapon swooping down and straight for the male's shoulder. A broader area forcing a more pronounced dodge, as she'd mentally be counting the ticking seconds. Just as he wanted to force her off the edge, she'd desire to keep the fight near it. NAME: Ishiki no Iki [Breath of Awareness] RANK: B-rank CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Fuuton DESCRIPTION: Typically used in conjunction with a bukijutsu or standard sword attack, this technique has the user release large breath of futon enriched air, the exhale expands a full five yards around the user, it's within that exhale's post the user is able to detect movement within that area without being otherwise able to sense or see the individual. So even without a dojutsu the user can 'spot' an unseeable attack on themselves, as soon as the user inhales they lose this defense, but regain a part of their chakra as long as they remain within that five yard exhale.
