Clear the Sea

Dark waves crashed against the hull of the ship, the mist lay heavy atop the murky depths on which The Bald Maiden sailed. A storm was on its way, but the ship would soon make it to the port. The wind was strong and tugged relentlessly at the sails, driving the ark forward, its belly filled with precious wares as well as fish meant to feed most of the small coastal towns as well as the larger cities. They are desperate for it, lately, ships have been disappearing on the sea. Wives, husbands and children have lost their family, presumably to the sea and rough weather. It is the captain of The Bald Maiden's quest to bring back food for his village as well as show those who remain on land, that even rough weather can't make the natives of Mizu no Kuni bow and cower in fear.

Something stirred the waters, though. In the foam and bubbles atop the waves, sleek, draconian scales catch the moonlight peeking through the clouds. A flash of teeth. A geyser of droplets washes over the crew. Then the waters churn and break apart as a long, white tendril rise out of the water and wrap around the vessel. Wood and iron groans. Men yell.

Dawn breaks, the golden, pink hues wake the small village near the ocean. A people are already collecting seaweed and what mussels they can find, when a commotion draws a crowd to a large pile of seaweed. A man. Pale, with scratches, splinters and a broken arm lies on the beach. "Monster... God.. A god i-is angry... "

Preparation and collection of the teams when the news of a monster roaming the sea routes between Kaminari and Mizu have taken place. The attack is assumed close to the border of Kaminari, Kirigakure has sent teams to reopen that trade route and make it safe, with those teams requesting assistance and participation from Kumogakure.

For this plot all Kirigakure, Kumogakure shinobi, as well as Missing Ninja, are able to participate. If you're interested, simply reply to this post with your character and nation.
