NAME: Higanbana [Red Spider Lily]
RANK: B
CLASSIFICATION: Offensive
OWNER: Kunieda Narihari
DESCRIPTION:
Higanbana is quite the oddball of a sword. With a red-ombré, double-edged straight blade, it's similar in style to a traditional Ken sword with enough subtle differences to make it unique. It has a 75cm (2.4ft) long blade, a couple inches wide at the base, but it tapers slightly before coming to a point. Its name (彼岸花) is inscribed into the tang of the blade surrounded by intricate spider lily designs. Higanbana has an intricate golden guard made of a half sphere base of metal that flares slightly at the ends. The hilt is also gold, but all but a few lines are obscured by black rayskin, making it easier to hold. The pommel of the sword is gold in color as well and cylindrical in shape. Red ropes are woven through slots in the guard and hang loosely around Nari's hand. Its scabbard is made from stiff red leather with intricate lines of gold metal wound around the top and bottom.

Higanbana has a warm and gentle aura and is very loyal to its wielder, refusing to work for any but him. It never wavers in its behavior, performing flawlessly for Nari, no matter the circumstances. Its young wielder takes meticulous care of it, as tradition dictates - sharpening and polishing it every night - but that wouldn't matter to the patient blade. It will protect its partner to the bitter end.

Nari doesn't have a complete bond with the sword as of yet, but once he manages it, Higanbana will materialize its true appearance within his mind space. The sword's true form is that of a beautiful, pale-skinned, woman clad in a flowing red hanfu-style dress decorated with spider lilies in a darker shade of crimson and embroidered in gold. Her black hair is done up, styled in a tight bun with a golden fengguan adorning it. Her voice is calm and soothing. It has a motherly quality to it and can quiet even the most tumultuous hearts.

ABILITIES:
Life Blade
Forged in the style of a Ken blade, Higanbana's 75cm long blade is straight and double-edged. Its edges are wicked sharp, able to cut through a person with ease. Due to the meticulous care that is put into it, the sword is even capable of slicing through bone and wood if enough force is put into its swing. It was forged using a shita-kitae process, folding the blade over and over 10 times increasing the purity of the metal and giving it extreme durability, making it very hard for it to be broken.

As a sword of the Araikettei clan and having absorbed Nari's chakra over the years, Higanbana has become a weapon capable of being used with the numerous kendo styles. Currently, Narihari only knows common kenjutsu taught to him within the Academy. But should he become familiar with other styles, it could be possible for Higanbana to adopt them as well, once it has the cooperation of its sibling, Bijozakura.

Chakra Absorption
As all Life Blades, Higanbana absorbs Nari's chakra continuously as he carries it around, stacking up a decent amount of chakra inside of itself. This amount of chakra is equal to half of Nari's chakra pool and thus grows along with him.

This continuous absorption also gives Higanbana the ability to repair small nicks and scratches, as all Life Blades are able to. This absorption does not work on anyone other than Nari, however, leaving anyone else who attempts to wield the sword unaffected. A bonus or Nari is that the absorption is also limited. It will never deplete his entire chakra pool. As it absorbs a little chakra every hour or so, the drain is barely noticeable to the wielder.

When entering battle, Higanbana stops draining chakra until the sword has depleted its own stores and needs to replenish itself. This, however, is limited to three times in a single fight, even less if Nari uses both of his blades (only 2 drains). Should the sword attempt to draw anything out after the limit is hit, it will cause Nari to fall unconscious until his chakra pool is replenished.

This absorption also allows Higanbana to reject any other wielder than Nari or to refuse to listen. Whenever someone unknown holds it, the exposed gold of its hilt shoots out in deadly spikes, possibly piercing through the offending hand. The spikes will remain until the foreign hand releases Higanbana's hilt.

NAME: Bijozakura [Verbena]
RANK: B
CLASSIFICATION: Offensive
ELEMENT: Raiton
OWNER: Kunieda Narihari
DESCRIPTION:
A gorgeous blade that isn't at all your common sword. It has a 75cm (2.4ft) long blade, a couple inches wide at the base, but it tapers slightly before coming to a point. While styled similar to a Ken sword, Bijozakura's double-edged straight blade is a deep purple in color along its entire length except for the final few inches which is bright silver in an arrow-like design. Verbana flowers are etched into the tang of the blade in silver surrounding the sword's name (美女桜). It has a diamond-shaped guard in burnished silver connected to a silver hilt wrapped in white rayskin. it's pommel is circular, a bright sphere of silver with a white tassel attached to the end. The sword's scabbard is made from stiff dark violet leather and adorned with intricate silver decorations around the top and middle.

Unlike its sibling, Bijozakura exudes an aura of impatience and anger. It's a very temperamental blade and will refuse to work at even the smallest slight from its wielder. Despite Nari meticulously caring for the sword, Bijozakura will only behave if it is in the mood to. It doesn't respect its young wielder, considering itself to be much too powerful to be in the hands of a child. While it won't ever cooperate with a stranger, chances are, Bijozakura won't cooperate with Nari on most occasions.

The relationship between blade and wielder is very strained, but should Nari ever manage to get on his sword's good side he might be able to meet the sword's true form within its mindscape. Bijozakura is a stern-looking man, clad in intricate purple robes. His long black hair is tied up in a topknot and held by a long purple ribbon. Violet lightning crackles around the man's arms, following the path of silver metal ropes tied around the length of the limbs.

ABILITIES:
Life Blade
Forged in the style of a Ken blade, Bijozakura's 70cm long blade is straight and double-edged.

This continuous absorption also gives Bijozakura the ability to repair small nicks and scratches, as all Life Blades are able to. The absorption also allows Bijozakura to reject any other wielder than Nari or to refuse to listen. Whenever someone unknown holds it, the blade's hilt will superheat to a glowing purple, crackling lighting equivalent to a taser until released.

I know we discussed it a little in chat and I wasn't solid on a resolute, but can you link me the life blade you used as example.

You are the first attempting to have two life blades correct?

Life Blade: Apart of why I want the link is to verify that everything listed in here is 'expected', because I notice you've got cutting strength and durability listed into this one ability. I assume that this is the standard, but want to make sure that with you having a split weapon you're not risking a dampened effect per-blade.

Chakra Absorption: I'd like to suggest shortening this up a little bit. I think what this is supposed to do as an ability is repair the blade via chakra, deny others using it and that I'm not sure should require this in depth explanation of the absorption method.

You mention on both swords that they drain half your chakra pool, but two halves make a whole. So you'd have no chakra left.
