Unfortunately, Miho would not have been quick enough to catch up to the rabbit--being that the critter had a head's start by starting off at a greater distance than the rest of the team, but the girl's limp greatly hindered her movements as well. Although it was possible that the young woman would end up staying back with the cow to allow Sayua to tend to her wounds, even if she'd ignored the prompts--she wouldn't have gotten to the hallway in time to see the rabbit escape through the hidden wall.
    Wasurete, likewise, hesitated long enough to give his instructions to the other girls--which stalled his actions, and the rabbit would not wait around for him. However, unlike Miho, the boy wasn't injured and was in much better shape physically--he was able to make up for lost time rather quickly, and even moreso when he flickered down the hallway to even further cut the time down as he attempted to catch up with where he thought the rabbit would be. They would have to move and talk--no time to stand around and chit-chat. If he hadn't flickered, Wasurete might have not caught the slight glimpse of the rabbit's foot vanishing behind the rotating door as it closed!
    Although,Sayua's sensing skills were able to pick up on the rapid heartbeat of the small furry creature, and she'd be able to accurately relay onto Wasurete that the jackrabbit had, indeed, gone to the left. Only he would have been able to catch on to the hidden rotating wall, though.
    But, if he decided to continue chasing after the rabbit--which he would, no doubt--the one-eyed boy would quickly find himself coming across a hallway that, as soon as he stepped foot on it, would shoot out spikes from the bottom to impale him! Would he react quickly enough in time to avoid injury, or proceed with caution? If he blindly chased after the rabbit, he'd be in for a nasty surprise--since the rabbit's light weight wouldn't trigger the traps, and he'd be able to easily dart down the pathway and slide across the ice.
    Jack-A-Boy would slide to a stop on the ice, however, landing smack-dab in the center of the miniature frozen lake. And for a brief moment, the animal would wait there to see what happened next. According to their supposed plan, one of the girls was supposed to cover up the holes in the walls with earth techniques? Clever. Annoying, but clever. Surely she wouldn't be able to block out every hole, and even if she did... it'd be inconvenient, but there were still other ways he could escape. He was faster than most of these shinobi, most likely. So he had that to his advantage--as well as not being able to set off most of the traps, himself. It'd hinder the children while giving himself an edge over them.
    Plus, if all else failed--he still had his wits about him! He could probably figure out some narrow escape...

While Miho certainly didn't like the idea of being told that she'd only slow the group down, the facts remained that her injury proved to be a great disability to the rest of the group. Even with the small amount of chakra given to her by Sayua, it didn't change the fact that her wound would not heal without time and proper treatment. But they couldn't waste any more time with her having the other female aid her. As the girl offered to help bind her again, the young woman would shake her head as she then tossed the other walkie to Wasurete. "No...I'll take care of it..you two need to move...I will remain here with the cow and be on watch in case it decides to double back..." It wasn't the aid that she wanted to provide, but it was all she could do. If the two others had already left, Miho would return to the creature that acted as their central point, her body lowering itself so that she remove her pack from her back. In doing so, she'd proceed with removing her scarf from her pack. In removing her previous wrap from her injury, the woman would then redress the injured leg with the scarf, binding it tightly as she hissed in irritation. All the while, she'd do her best to be aware, yet still finding herself drifting in and out of focus. Delirium was a dredful sensation. For a moment, she thought that she could hear something moving close to her, her hand resting upon her hip as she attempted to rise up, only to wince in pain as she sat herself back down. The chill in the air kissed at her still raw flesh, despite the bundle of her winter coat to keep her warm. The fabric alone felt rough as it touched her skin. All she could do was wait now...allow herself time to rest. WASURETE

"Trick Wall, Left!" Was all that Wasurete could shout out as he barely saw the first of many tricks he'd find in this bastard maze. He had to stay on the assault, so he wasn't all that interested in trying to stop and explain things to his teammates. If they couldn't keep up, what use where they. If they couldn't understand what he assumed was a pretty intuitive statement, then what use were they? He wanted this over with quickly, and that meant getting that rabbit right now, as quickly as he could, and unfortunately without killing it.      That was the key word to Wasurete... "killing" it. He could injure it if necessary. And slowing the bastard down did seem like something that would be deemed "necessary" to him. And Wasurete still had some shuriken left since he'd only used the one for fishing. He'd just have to make sure his aim wasn't off, that he targeted the legs off that annoying rabbit, and that when that thing got hit, Wasurete was there to snatch it up. Wasurete thought through what he saw for only a second before taking that same spinning wall that the rabbit had. What came next?     If he still saw the Rabbit in the hallway, his shuriken would almost immediately follow after it, trying his best to only aim for the legs of the creature as he went. Two paths, he didn't know if they met up anywhere however. He had to hope that the cow girl was listening to his request to close those damn rabbit paths however. That would help to cut off at least some of the avenues of retreat that this damn rabbit had. He had to catch up to that rabbit though, and he had to do so quickly. If he could get things over now, things would go better, and it was for that reason that Wasurete didn't just run through the hallway, he once again forced his body to go faster.     His body was less harmed than some of the others, he could tell, he had apparently had it quite easy during his trip in the wilderness. His chakra was still relatively high, he had gotten at least a modicum of sleep. The body flicker did mean one thing however, he had actually been barely fast enough to avoid spikes. What he hadn't prepared for however, was the frozen lake he found himself in, crashing into the ice with enough force to crack the ice below him. Frozen lakes were pretty damn cold as well. Sending a shock to Wasu's system as he fell into the icy water. Anyone bothering to listen for it would hear a yell of frustration rather than fear as Wasu tried to pull himself out of the water, using Water Walking to get his feet planted on the surface of it.

"Very well,” Sayua said as she took off after the other genin, leaving Miho to recover on her own.

Sayua’s roll would take her rushing after Wasu to the left corridor. She spotted the first two rabbit holes out of four along the wall. She could feel the creature beyond it, but there was no way she could get to it. Luckily her technique would come in handy here.

She focused her chakra and quickly slapped the ground. Using her chakra control, she held back the full potential of the mud overturn technique in order to save chakra and sculpt the first wall to only go as high as was needed to cover the second and third holes. Thanks to the technique being so simple it didn’t even take seals to do it. She rushed forward a bit more to where she had caught a glimpse of the rotating door closing, and she slapped the ground again to create another tiny wall just tall enough to cover the fourth hole.

She had left the first hole open, so that perhaps Jack would consider the route that would put him between her and Miho as an option. She pointed at the hole when she was sure Miho was watching before moving forward. She was not going to join Wasu in the room with the rotating door, but she stepped forwards into a hallway where a spear started to jut out of the floor and she had to quickly jump back to avoid being impaled.

Although Sayua's technique was certainly effective in blocking out most of the holes on her side of the wall, at this exact given moment in time, it wouldn't do much to hinder Jack-A-Boy. The Jackrabbit wasn't a complete idiot, and knew better than to leap through the one hole that had been left uncovered by the enemy--it was an obvious trap, and he knew they were waiting for him on the other side! Unfortunately, even though he was an animal, Jack-A-Boy was fairly intelligent, and he was much more interested in trying to escape them and get out of range than loop back around and risk being captured. Especially when there was still so much of the map left uncovered!
    Besides, he wanted to get away from the eye-patch boy.
    At the moment, the male was posing the greatest threat to him. While one girl sat and did nothing and the other patched up the holes in the walls to limit his movement, only one was actively pursuing him--and throwing pointy things at him, too!
    It was certainly noted that the boy was throwing shuriken at his feet to avoid killing him, but Jack-A-Boy didn't want this shinobi getting any rabbit feet today! The rabbit was quick enough to narrowly dodge the flying weapons, as he was trained and perfectly capable of handling low-ranked shinobi, and only one ninja boy on his tail, throwing basic weaponry without any fancy or dangerous jutsu? It was easy enough for the speedy animal to avoid. No, no, it would take a bit more than a simple pursuit by one shinobi to trap him. He could handle one shinobi.
    And, much to the rabbit's delight--the boy cracked the surface of the ice and fell into the freezing water!
    Haha!
    Wasurete would almost be able to feel the rabbit laughing at him, as the creature immediately hopped off the cracking ice and barreled through another hole in the wall furthest away from where the boy had fallen in. He didn't want to stick around and risk slipping into the freezing waters, himself! And although Wasurete had been able to get out on his own quickly enough with the aid of a shinobi technique, that didn't change the fact that he was now in a cold environment while sopping wet with freezing water. He'd certainly be feeling the affects of that if he didn't end this soon, or do something to warm himself up.
    In the meantime, Jack-A-Boy would ditch the now-wet shinobi and dart down the hallway--going further into the maze and not turning back to run so willingly over to the kunoichi. He'd dart past the swinging blades that began at the end of the furthest hallway, his small and swift form capable of avoiding the swinging axes. But he wondered if the freezing boy would rush at him impatiently and get cut up into pieces? He'd probably continue running down the hallway if the water boy got too close, though... At this rate, the shinobi would have to do something super special if he wanted to out-maneuver the speedy rabbit. He was just too fast for a shinobi to keep up without tricks...

Though redressing her injury was a start, the resting part would take some time to adjust to. As she could somehow hear what was going out, the sound of cracking ice and the soft clicking of metal against a solid form, she had a feeling that things were not going the way that everyone wanted. Yet here she was, unable to do anything...unless. Perhaps pursuit, while required for keeping track of the creature, was not the only real answer here. With the two now attempting to handle the rabbit, they had not gone down the opposite path for further investigation either. Perhaps that could be left to her, though she imagined that her exploration would be a tad slow. Though maybe it would allow for further insight into this maze. It was the least she could do, and her blood was still pumping from the boost of chakra given to her by Sayua. She might even catch the creature by surprise. Rising up slow from the surface, Miho would begin her move toward the right part of the maze, her eyes narrowed as she considered a possible change in appearance to better blend in. It was a long shot, but it could aid in the element. Wincing as she lowered herself close to the ground, she'd soon remove the sleeping bag from her pack, drawing out a kunai as well as she began to work on crafting material from it's appearance. Cutting and dragging the blade, she'd manage to create a makeshift cloak from it's previous form, prompting placing it across the snow and wintering it to appear similar to that of the area icy surroundings. Wasurete was absolutely freezing. Something which in this current environment wasn't going to go over to well. That experience with the spikes and the water gave Wasurete a moment of reprieve however. He stood on the water, holding himself up with the use of his water walking technique, and he contemplate his route of attack towards the rabbit. He saw the direction the rabbit headed, and his mind, in the relative calm, traced back to the beginning of this entire series of events. That trick wall had enough space for four of those thick walls, which meant that there was more than just the two sides they had been on already.      Wasurete's first thought was that he himself should backtrace, find out where else he had the opportunity to go, but Wasurete wanted to wait. He could feel his muscles tensing up and knew that the body flicker was damaging him, he couldn't continue using it at the rate he was. "Cow girl!" Wasurete sighed, he didn't want to rely on these people, but there was no way he was catching this rabbit alone, "Trick wall to your left. If you have something that could stop these spikes it be great. Hang-right after you turn in here though. There's gotta be more." Wasurete looked at the other path way, the one that would have been to his left before, his best guess was that that was a spiked path as well.      He couldn't use jutsu on the rabbit, and he wasn't particularly a physical shinobi. He was almost ready to give up now, he wasn't in the proper environment, but he had to be able to use his teammates, that was the mark of a team, that their abilities played off one another. The ability of a leader was to make sure every piece was working properly. He had one chance to try and get his next move right. He rushed towards the path he hadn't taken yet, and before passing the "gateway" that stopped the frozen lake and started that path, leapt into the air, aiming to jump off the other wall and narrowly avoid the spiked path. He collided with the ground and skid, letting out a groan in pain as he crawled his way to his feet, barely safe from the spikes. "Focus on damaging the traps, everything here is designed to make the rabbits job easier, or to slow us down."

"Right!” Sayua said as she pressed herself against the trick wall until it began to rotate. As the room before her started to open up, she noticed that the trick wall was not setting flush with the ice. Curiosity told her to keep pushing, revealing another room.

Sayua could still feel the heartbeat of the rabbit, in the distance. She began following the wall and noticed three more rabbit holes, she focused her chakra once again and used just enough to erect thick mounds of earth to cover them with a slap against the ground before continuing.

She continued towards the corridor, but hadn’t quite gotten into a line of sight with the hallway that jack was in. She didn’t want the rabbit to come this way yet, so she decided to make her position known for the benefit of her teammate.

"The trick wall led me another way, I am here,” Sayua called. "I hear the sound of motion ahead between myself and the rabbit, probably a trap, I will take care of it soon!”

She hoped that her voice was loud enough to carry through the walls, and that both of them would hear it.

Damn, the other way?! So now there was an all-but-handicapped girl near the entrance (or so he thought), water boy following his tail, and another coming up from a different section of the map. This was frustrating. Partially, he thought to try escaping back around the way he'd come, but he knew several of the holes in the walls had been sealed up, and he'd rather not have to get too deliberately close to the water boy if he didn't have to. It seemed risky to try going back, but he also wanted to avoid them entirely if it was at all possible.
    But he needed to get out of the area, and at the moment there was only one surefire way to do so without tracking back directly into them. He knew their general location, and with holes being blocked off every few minutes or so, his options were growing limited.
    So, he'd book it.
    Jack-a-boy would dart down the hallway, swinging blades trailing after him as they cut through the air. He jumped around, keeping low enough and swift enough to avoid being sliced up, though the hallways might be best avoided entirely for the bigger, not-so-tiny human shinobi.
    If all went well, the rabbit would race down the hallway with superior speed, and in the small window of opportunity Sayua would see him pass for but a moment. Perhaps, too swift for her to catch him as she wouldn't be expecting it and the creature was much quicker than she was, but if nothing else--the young Iwagakure shinobi would see which way he'd gone.

There was rapid movement happening upon the left side, the girl noting the flash and near instant movement of the duo as it appeared they had spotted something. Still, at the moment, if they were about to give chase, that could indicate that the rabbit had indeed bolted within this direction. But should she get involved and slow them down? No...not right now... Miho would continue on, her path leading her north of her position, her body still blended into the background as she stalked forward. With her focus upon her surroundings, she'd note the room that appeared to be clear of anything but ice, yet proceed forward with her intent on seeing the distance from the entrance to the possible back. So far, this place appeared to have a mixture of many rooms, some with very limited dangers from her overall review so far. But, as she drew to the wall, her body would freeze for a moment, noting something in the left hand side of her position. The wall seemed to continue along at a strange angle, and considering the construction of this place thus far, it was somewhat out of place. As the medic looked upon it, she'd also see what appeared to be more holes further ahead, likely for the creatures escape in either this direction or another. Perhaps the noise being made by the others, along with her avaliablility could work to their advantage. She simply had to be patient, remain in cover, and hope that with luck the creature would cross her path. If so, she could obtain him. Crouching, releasing silent breaths, the female would hold a single hand seal, her body ready to strike as she could feel the chakra pulsing into her lower limbs. The strain could easily tear her leg up more, but it was a heavy risk for a just reward. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, and any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation. Wasurete couldn't help but chatter as he moved. He was absolutely freezing, and he didn't know how he was supposed to catch up to this damn rabbit. The cow girl had shown herself to be somewhat helpful. he could hear the use of her quirk plugging holes, that was somewhat useful to say the least. The less he could control this battlefield the better. Wasurete had to continue worrying about how his continued hunt would proceed if he was freezing to death. He needed to get this done faster, if he wasn't careful he wouldn't even make it to the third round.     After what he could only assume was a successful first round, what with his state in relation to his fellow test subjects, he didn't want to lose here. He couldn't help but feel as if these two were letting him down though. Why had he been stuck with two worthless ninjas. He continued to shamble his way forward, hearing the swinging axes before he could see them. He let out another groan, of course this damn maze had more tricks, they couldn't make it too easy could they? His frustration was only growing by the second as he growled out in anger.     Wasurete was going to lose his target, he knew that. He wasn't going to be able to game his way through these axes. He'd have to take his time. But maybe that's what he needed. He'd make his way through the axes slowly, pausing to let the next one pass infront of him before moving forward. His eyes burrowing a hole to wear he'd seen the rabbit go. Once he made it to the center, he would hopefully see Sayua along with him. He'd keep his voice low to her "If I had to guess... Based on the size of the chamber I've been going through, and those swinging axes on either side, The other direction of the maze is a mirror image. Which means this next room has two spear floors surrounding thin ice. Head up, and my guess will be another rotating wall. Close up whatever holes you can. I'm going to follow the rabbit. Push him towards you in the corner. Try to grab him."

A mirror image...

With her fledgling sensory powers Sayua was struggling to keep a bead on him, but when he stopped it felt around the same distance that he had been on the other side. Sayua thought that Wasu was correct. She stopped herself from following the rabbit, peering over to the right and noticing a singular hole. She remembered the first holes that she had encountered.

"Wasu, be prepared to obstruct the uncovered hole near you!” she yelled. "Hiromi might block it if you ask nicely!”

She first took a breath, and then began a desperate sprint. She felt like she understood what was ahead of her, and she was going to take a gambit at the cost of a good deal of her energy.

She pushed through the rotating door that Wasu had predicted, stopping halfway as she entered a hidden corridor and quickly slapping her hand down to raise a small mound of earth in front of it before hurriedly pushing forward until she was at the outer wall. The holes on this side did mirror the entrance. With a knowing grin Sayua smacked her hands against the ground again to cover three more holes.

Jack had been right, she wouldn’t have had the energy to cover all the holes in the maze. But she was getting the ones that mattered most. A little bit further up and she would be able to cover the final hole, if Wasu did her the courtesy of taking care of the one she left behind.

Either way she was focusing her sensory power on Jack, if he was daring enough to go for the remaining hole she would pounce like a mad woman. Whether she would have the energy for it while she was gasping for air after such a long sprint was another story.

What to do, what to do... Jack-A-Boy found himself in a... situation. On one hand, he'd made quite a bit of distance with his speed burst. He was pretty sure he knew where most of the shinobi were at this point, and if he continued onward, he could probably keep some distance. But then came the problem.
    If he continued to run, it was very probable that he'd lose the group entirely--which was ideal. But, in a way, keeping them in view had its own perks, too. It was fun to watch them scramble to try catching him, and struggle and fall behind as they attempted to match his speed. Which simply couldn't be done! He was an S-class summon, he was too fast! Too speedy! And watching them try and fail to race after him was pretty entertaining!
    But losing them would put him at both an advantage and disadvantage.
    On one hand, he would have no idea where they were save for the sounds of their footsteps and the stench of their skin. But on the other hand, they, likewise, wouldn't know where he is. There were pros and cons to everything...
    So Jack-A-Boy decided to try losing them.
    He moved from his position and raced down the corridor--this one without any spikes or swinging blades or the like. There was a hole in the wall at the end of the hallway, and the creature hopped through it with ease--only to then hear earth shift and move behind him as dirt covered up his entrance point.
    And he was immediately met with one of the shinobi.
    OOp, I should have gone the other way, he thought to himself. Still--not all hope was lost! For him at least. Hopefully.
    Maybe.

Note: Kaze just wanted to give you a head's up that from your post it made it seem as though Niho could see through the solid walls and noticed the activity of the rabbit over yonder--since you didn't have this information really affect her actions in any way I'll let it slide but I just wanted to remind you the black lines are solid as are the rotating walls. Although I don't expect you to map out your character's exact location, I'm also not entirely sure where she's headed. There was no mentioning of her running into any of the spikes that shoot up from the ground, should she have headed directly north without making any turns or slipping through rotating walls, so I'm going to assume that she simply flickered down that hallway to avoid them entirely, but I'm not sure if that's what you intended. So, if she's somewhere else on the map or I misjudged how deep in she's traveling, please let me know so I can fix my update of the map!

2020 Summer Chunin Exams:round 2

Moment Music The sensation of the speed bracing against her body, the boost pushing her movement to the point of breaking the speed barrier itself. Miho seemed to propel herself forward, believing in her mind that where she was going could very well lead to a just result. The placement had been there, the clear sounds from afar justified such a risk. Though her body was screaming for her to stop, even medical instinct telling her to pull out of the move or risk permanent damage to herself, she continued onward down the hall. The area around her seemed to blur together, much like a crystal-like framing of images. Picture after picture, stirred into a mixture of visions that were enough to make her think she might be at the point of collapse or perhaps having already done so. Yet soon enough a flicker of movement in front of her prompting her to react. The fuzzy vision seeming to be out of place of all others. The Rabbit! Her mind screamed this to herself, her body soon drawing to an immediate stop as she began to slide across the ground, the ice hampering any real traction. Yet her momentum and the closeness she was to the hare would only aid in her advance. With it clearly alerted to her movements, the young woman would draw forth her previous cover, the makeshift cloak now becoming much like a pouch as she swiftly aimed it downward into a scooping motion, focusing on capturing the creature within it and holding it tightly to her chest. If successful, she'd find her back hitting the wall, prompting her to slid down slowly. If not, her body would still have the same reaction, her frame against the wall as she sat there in intense pain. -Jutsu Used- NAME: Kakuremino no Jutsu [Cloak of Invisibility Technique] RANK: E CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General] ELEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: Using a cloak or a piece of cloth, a ninja may disguise themselves against a nearby object by covering their whole body in a fashion that blends in with their surroundings. NAME: Shunshin no Jutsu [Body Flicker Technique] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General] ELEMENT: None HANDSEALS: 1 DESCRIPTION: By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, and any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation. WASURETE

A lot would happen in a matter of moments. And the thoughts in Wasurete's head rushed. He knew what he wanted to do, was to go through those axes, to follow behind the rabbit, but he didn't have the speed to keep pushing it from behind, and he knew that. His brain was going a hundred miles a minute, and he made a very quick decision to change directions. He'd rush the same direction that Sayua had gone, but when he went through that revolving door, he wouldn't head up the same path she had, he'd decide to go across the center of the maze.     He would watch Sayua, and he saw something in that moment that made him smile. He saw Miho coming out of thin air to surprise the rabbit. That was two path ways closed off to him. Sayua coming up towards where he had exited that hole, one that Sayua had already closed. He hoped that Sayua would simply pump more earth to cover that whole hallway. It's what he'd do if he truly had the jutsu or reserves to do so. Two things that he hoped Sayua would have. That wouldn't be the end of the rabbits troubles however.     Coming from right above it was a hidden Miho. Enough cloth to hopefully contain it. That meant he couldn't simply hop up way from someone's grabbing hands. That made Wasurete smirk has his mind thought through as much of the situation as he could. There was one escape route that wasn't covered yet. As far as Wasurete was concerned anyways. And Wasurete's plan of attack was simply to close up that final path, to put that damn rabbit in check, and maybe, hopefully, finally get some sort of break. This rabbit wasn't going to end his route to Chuunin.      It wasn't the easiest route however. Wasurete knew in his heart that this place was a mirror image. Meaning that if he went forward, he'd see that hall of swinging axes. That was the plan of attack. And once again Wasurete poured chakra into his limbs, and in a moment, his body would flicker. He'd move as fast as pissible, blasting through the hall of axes, feeling the sash covering his eye sliced, and feeling the cloth fall to the floor. That wouldn't matter to him. If his timing was right, even if the Rabbit took the one route Otoko believed available, and ran across the top hallway to escape, Wasurete would be coming out of the axe filled hallway at the proper time to snatch him up.     In Wasurete's mind, this was check mate.

HOLD ME CLOSE. DON'T LET GO.
