Jack-A-Boy was sitting at the end of the hallway, perked up where he stood at the dead-end. Well, for any human it would have been, anyway. There were several small holes that the rabbit could easily jump through, that the body of a human being wouldn't be able to wriggle into. But as the small group chatted among themselves, trying to form some sense of a plan, the rabbit's right ear would twitch as he'd listen in. Radios, huh? That'd be no fun if he couldn't split them up and confuse them. No, no, no time for a plan! He'd have to get them moving now if he wanted to make sure they didn't strategize how to catch him! So, not to allow them any more time in figuring out what to do, the rabbit would immediately start his escape! If they didn't want to immediately lose him, they'd have to play by his rules! Running would prompt them to chase! He'd first jump into the hole directly behind him--and now was unfortunately completely out of their eyesight unless they tried to travel down one of the hallways. But, from where he was hidden, the rabbit would then take an immediate left turn and dart down the long hallway--not a single spear triggered by his ridiculously light step. He only weighed a few pounds, after all, and he wasn't big and heavy like a human or a cow. But still, for the shinobi, unless they immediately chased after him, they would now have no idea where he was or where he was going. They would have to act quick and correctly guess which direction he'd gone if they wanted to catch him utilizing one of the hidden revolving walls to escape from the apparent area! If they missed him, they might have had no idea he was still close by, and might not have any sign of which direction he'd gone! Of course, they might have had some other plan to catch him, but they'd have to act fast if they didn't want to lose him after it'd only just begun! And without triggering any of the traps, himself, the shinobi would probably be unsuspecting of where he'd gone or of any danger in the area, especially if he stayed out of their line of sight...
Map Tracker! SAs: NPC Note: I thought it'd be more fun to write out the SAs like actual traits one might see listed in the SA section of an app or a perk in DBD but ultimately these are still the same three "SA"s listed by Yoshiko--fatigue, injury, and chakra drain--so don't be disarmed by the different names. It's just me tryna have fun and spice things up--the SAs listed in the parentheses are the official affects gained. However, some shinobi suffered quite more drastically than others, while some got away almost completely scott-free, and so as to not completely nerf one characters' ability and still give them a fighting chance, while also highlighting other conflicts than just physical limitations, I wanted to list off the negatives and positives of these various SAs that can be used and considered to your digression in a way that I feel is realistic, while still offering fair hindrances and handicaps. Something that I also considered in each "SA" is the personalities being expressed through the characters and their writing. Obviously, each character is your own and to be written however you believe is in-character for them, I tried to word things to make it clear that the control is still completely up to you. But I wanted to also give mentions of things to keep in mind regarding each characters' traits and expressed personalities, which might be buffered or negatively affected by the stated SA (since so many of you got out of the last test almost completely unscathed, and there's more drawbacks and hindrances to be considered other than just physical). These are just things to consider regarding each character, which can be focused on if chosen, based on what I was able to see was IC for them and--likewise--benefits and drawbacks for each apparent characterization have been pointed out if you wish to play on them, but the SAs listed in parenthesis are the only parts you have to play into and keep in mind when writing your posts. Or maybe you'll want to play on your fatigue or SAs in a completely different way, since you know your character better than I do and might come up with different approaches or aspects of how it would affect them than what I was able to notice. Surprise me.
Miho - Second Wind (Fatigue, Moderate Injury, Moderately Chakra Drained) Due to her experiences in her previous test, Miho is suffering from many adverse affects. Having sustained an injured shoulder--which although popped back into place, is still sore and restricts mobility without pain. An injured leg from her polar bear attack, although seared shut with her cauterizing technique, is still sore due to the muscle tears, and an open burn wound without medicinal application can lead to easy infection--causing deliriousness. Her frequent use of the flickering technique is putting great strain on her limbs, which are at risk of being torn, and her body feels strained due to sunburning and no long-term resting. Although a ration pill was used to make up for lost energy, Miho has been relatively dehydrated and although not at serious risk of death, is experiencing side effects of undernourishment due to her struggle to find sustainable food throughout her journey. Weary from the previous test and lack of sustainable sleep, Miho might be going a little stir-crazy, though now reunited with human beings, this sensation might lessen. However, even despite her physical limitations and possible instability, Miho has hit a second wind. Although not well-rested and not likely to process information with clarity or rational thought, her ration pill has given her a great boost of energy--an adrenaline rush, and she's reached the point of exhaustion when the mind goes directly into bare survival mode, which is only buffered by the pill she took. Too tired to think clearly, Miho now will have to rely on pure instinct and her paranoia (due to deliriousness) has made her hyper aware of danger in her surroundings as fight-or-flight has kicked in and she's entered into a state of relying on pure survival instincts. Pros: Hyper-Aware and high reliance of Survival's Instinct Cons: Less Rational Thought, Slowed/Sluggish Reaction Time, Delirious Conflicts With: Agitation, Timed Test
Wasurete - Agitation (Minor Fatigue) Wasurete did a good job surviving, although a bit dehydrated as he focused primarily on sustaining meat in his meals, he got through his zones without experiencing any extreme fatigue--although still a bit weary from his great travel. Although fairly rested due to many short breaks, he's still gone quite some time without a full or deep rest and is more irritable towards other people--especially considering his displeasure for them, already. Due to a tired psyche, and an annoyed stance towards others, and slight physical weariness, Wasurete will likely get more annoyed, frustrated, and aggressive easier as his patience runs thinner. Although he can still think with fair ration and keep to his beliefs and tactics, Wasurete's fatigue and irritation will likely show against his teammates and the objective of relying on one-another, and as his patience starts to wear thin, his act might as well. Pros: Every Man For Himself assists chances of Self-Sufficiency and Survival Cons: Hinders Teamwork and Coping With Teammates and their possible shortcomings or limitations, Aggressive toward the target Conflicts With: Second Wind, Pack Bond, Teamwork/Non-Lethal Objective
Sayua - Pack Bond (Minor Fatigue) Although Sayua managed to survive well on her own, remained hydrated, and kept herself fairly well-fed without poisoning or injury, travelling for such a great amount of time without a long, deep rest would wear anyone down even if only a little. Managing to keep her cow not only alive but with her through the trials, as well as relying on the creature for some form of self-sufficiency, Sayua is likely coming to the realization that she can't do everything on her own, and needs to rely on others as a group to increase the odds of success and survival. Weariness makes feelings all the stronger, and her slight fatigue from her journey would likely boost her already-established trait of sticking together, as well as her empathetic nature. She might now feel more inclined to stick together with her teammates and new cow companion, might now feel a stronger urge to maintain the well-being of those around her, and wish to ensure the safety of those with her in exchange for reckless abandon. Pros: Assists Teamwork Cons: No Man Left Behind hinders Time Efficiency and Sacrificial Tactics Conflicts With: Agitation
Jack The Jackrabbit -
Jack Be Nimble Jack is a small thing, and doesn't weigh a whole lot--plus he's nimble-footed! He's light enough not to trigger most traps, and doesn't have to worry about slipping through any thin ice! Because of his special ability, he's quite skilled at maneuvering around traps and avoiding dangerous aspects of his surroundings! He can fit through small holes, and has many advantages in the maze that others would struggle with, and can usually make a quick escape. Jack Be Quick He's a speedy boi! Jack is a pretty fast fellow, and he'll prove a bit of a difficulty catching. Better keep up or find some other way to keep track of him, otherwise it'll be easy to lose him with how fast he can run and how quickly he can turn a tight corner! Blink and you might miss him! Jack o' Kent He's a clever boy. Unlike a normal rabbit, Jack can think and figure out a strategy to run so he doesn't blindly trap himself in a dead-end. Be careful, he's intelligent and perfectly capable of learning and figuring out solutions to tricky situations! Plus, he can definitely understand what you're saying--this isn't his first rodeo with a shinobi, and he knows what jutsu are. He's An Animal Jack is still technically an animal, and has a pretty good sense of smell. Especially humans and other animals--unless they do something to mask their scent, he'll probably be able to catch a whiff of you and know you're coming. Though, a lot of times he'd rather rely on his hearing or eyesight.
