Fallen Blades' Eighth Semiannual Chuunin Exams!
Round Two: Cooperation Portion

Through a perilous journey through sixteen varying biomes, you've managed to succeed at round ones test! The room you're in goes completely dark, as the very ground shakes to life. A stone path forming from your position to the opposite side of the biome from which you'd originally entered the exam. A new door opens and the artificial sky creates a line of lights leading down the new stone path. A green light over the new door, as a voice announces "Proceed to the exit of round one, through the door lit by the green light." This would be the fastest way to the door with the least energy spent. Simultaneously, an odd sound would come from the other side of the room. A red light over the door they'd originally entered, with those who could see it would be the faint sight of animal shadows leaving the biome. Granted there were animals in the present Biome.

Upon reaching the door presented under the green light, a proctor would lead the shinobi and company down a winding path. It'd take them deeper into the earth, which would provide a nice moderate temperature to the hall. At the end of the path would be a blue door, it'd be opened for those taken to it and upon entering the shinobi wouldn't find themselves alone. All the contestants who'd made it this far in blue uniforms originally would find themselves now in a room, it was a very empty room with stone floor and walls. Two chandeliers lit up an otherwise empty room. The doors the shinobi entered the room would be lined up next to each other on one side of the room. The opposite side of the room had one set of two doors sealed presently.

There'd been five doors next to each other on the side they entered, but one would remain shut hinting that one of the contestants hadn't made it. "Welcome contestants of this years chuunin exam, we're proud to see you've made it past the first round of the chuunin exams. Ahead of you is the door to your next round; a challenge which will test your wits, skills and most importantly teamwork. In order to allow for a more cohesive team, you'll be given as much time as you need to get to know one another. Once acquainted and ready to begin, you'll merely need to all exclaim ready! One at a time to trigger an announcement of your specific challenge, after the announcement it made those doors will open and you'll be timed on your execution of the task. You cannot use this time to rest, if anyone attempts to do so they'll be disqualified." After pointing out the door and explaining these initial rules, the proctors would leave the room allowing the team to get socializing.

Rules to Round Two

  • No Summons can be used, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Unsanctioned Equipment, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Unwarranted Travel, restrictions will be made clear, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Unsanctioned Animals, purchased and natural animals only, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Outside Assistance, if you befall an injury, sickness or worst you must rely upon yourself and team.
  • Quitting is Allowed, but you'll be disqualified from further performing in this exam.
  • If you fail to post here, by the end of the 22nd, then you'll be automatically disqualified.
  • You'll have a week to 'get acquainted', if you all are ready prior, you'll still be forced to wait until the 22nd for a reply.
  • There maybe more rules to come based on the specified challenge, do make sure you check this list the next time it appears.

Miho was more than just a tad exhausted. Her leg was still mending, her body somewhat sore from the overall experience. She was thankful that she had enough medical knowledge that she hadn't gone into shock over the experience alone. Still, there was little time to rest. Only for a moment to take a breath and assess just what to prepare for next. As she set her pack down, her body would slump against the wall as she could see others having made it through the trials as well.

In hearing the proctors instructions of the next set of challenges, the group would need to get to know each other and collaborate on what supplies they each had in order to prepare for the next round of exams. She wasn't exactly sure of them, but much of her supplies were still in tact. Save for the few items she had used to get to this point, she still had enough for practical usage.

But would it be enough?

Everything in these exams so far had shown that it was not just a simple romp in which they had to try and hope for the best. This was about survival and now they were going to see just how they could do so as a unit, rather than apart.

With her hair still a mess, her body taking it's time to adjust to her weakened demeanor, the woman would attend to her leg as she then did her best to smile as she looked around her.

"So...hello there..

She rode in on a white cow.

The right side of the bovine covered in thick hair, the opposite side was cut very short. On the hind end of the shaved side was a small cauterized wound.

Sayua's blue uniform had sleeves missing and part of the bottom hem had been cut as well, and it had been tied tightly in the back. Around her bosom and at the shoulders where her shirt ended fluffy white hair stuck out and left a small trail behind her as she went. Hanging around her neck was a face mask that on closer inspection would reveal itself to be made from the cup of a bra and its band. On her forearms she wore bracers made from tying earth arrows together with red cloth and weaving fur beneath each shaft.

Her headband was missing and her hair was covered with dirt. Her lips were stained with small crusts of milk, and her eyes looked wild. In one of her arms there was a black pelt that poorly tanned that stank of bat guano. Sticking out the side of it was a bundle of stone arrows tied together in a tight bundle to make a makeshift melee weapon, the tips of which were stained with blood.

On her approach Sayua noticed there was a certain lack of cows among the other candidates. Had they lost their cows? Then she noticed that a lot of them had tools they couldn’t have possibly foraged in the wild. A creeping suspicion set in, and then she noticed one of the proctors that had brought one of the other shinobi was the one who gave her the ‘instructions’ for the first exam. There was a look of surprise and amusement on his face before he departed.

Realization took hold of Sayua...

She had been duped!

There was nothing she could do about it now. If she had paid more attention and showed up to the brief on time she wouldn’t have been in this mess. She was going to have to own her choice. As they reached the end of the road Sayua dismounted her cow and let it rest, then put the sack of guano a bit away from the area the group would sit, though she brought her weapon with her.

One of the other candidates was the first to speak. Sayua retrieved a rag from the inside of her shirt that was damp and brought it to her mouth. It had finally cooled from when she had heated it to kill bacteria. She squeezed drops of milk out and then tucked the rag away again without shame.

"Howdy,” Sayua replied to her teammate. "Did the trip treat everyone well? I have some medical knowledge, but no supplies,” she admitted.

Sayua is the ready, just not able to post again without skipping other participants.

It wasn't everyday that you met a girl riding upon a cow, and for a moment, Miho had believed her mental state had completely come apart after four days of hell on earth. No idea of time, and with a partially injured leg. Still, it seemed as if the female had some medical experience, which would come in handy should they require both of them to make use of it. Still, for the moment, Miho was content with just that knowledge alone, drawing out some of her remaining mushrooms as she placed down them in the center.

"I have mushrooms as well...they aren't enough to keep us full, but I would imagine that they can stave off some hunger..."

Her expression was calm, doing her best to remain serious before then looking at Sayua as she finally did cause one smile to appear over her face.

"I'm Miho...Its nice to meet you...and your cow..."

Talking to another person was a refreshing concept, though they would need to do more than just getting to know one another if they were going to get through this.

Looking toward the others, Miho would then begin to look into her bag, her eyes narrowed as she stared about her materials.

"Most of what I have is weapons and mild tools towards climbing like rope. I do have a compass to secure safe passage once we know where it is that we have to go..."

WASURETE
Wasurete had been sitting for awhile when the door opened. He kept his sash wrapped tight around his head, hiding his missing eye from the world. The room he entered into gave him no intrigue, it gave him only calm. A calm that he was more than aware would evaporate eventually. But, he knew that this environment would be bettered by Wasurete pretending to be something he wasn't. If he had Kunikun, or if even he had Hideo, he would be more than happy to keep his hatred unchecked. This wasn't the proper environment for that, it wasn't the time to reveal his true self.

When Wasurete entered into the room, he plastered on what he could muster, a face of relief. A small smile as he entered the room and rushed over to his other surviving shinobi. "other people!! You don't think you'll be as lonely as you are in there." Wasurete had to hold back a gag as he pretended like he was happy to see these people. In the back of his head he was already contemplated how he'd kill them when the time came. He looked at how many doors there were, small groups, the likelihood that they'd allow for his partners to enter this group with him at this point was low.

He bowed down to the others, and his eyes drifted towards the cow. "Well," he laughed, "At least we'll have food for our journey. My name is Wasu. It's an honor to meet you all." IDIOT. What kind of moron would have gone for the cow? What kind of idiots had the other villages been allowing into the shinobi ranks. Wasurete almost never wore his headband, so his nation of origin was hidden, and unfortunately so was the girls on the cow. He was trying to recall if they had met before, but being how he hadn't been able to take his notebook with him into the exams, he had forgotten a lot over the past few days.

Nodding her head in greeting Wasu, she'd be unable to tell just where he had come from in terms of village, but she could sense that his mannerisms weren't complete geninue. As a medic, you came to figure out people rather quickly in terms of both their body language, as well as tone of voice. There was a clear wavier in his more than polite speech, but in truth, she didn't think much of it for the moment. If he were hiding anything, it likely wouldn't become an issue as they would need each other in order to succeed through this part of the exams.

Rising up to her feet, still feeling the slight sting upon her leg, it would likely hamper some movement, but not make her an anchor. With it now scabbing, she'd need not worry of lose of blood. It would take time, but she'd power through the pain. Four days was long enough to give her a taste of how true survival was done when without proper supplies or needs. Now came the next test to see if she could do the same while also with others at her side.

They would have to trust one another to be sure to make it...and that had start here...

"If we're all prepared, I suggest that we begin. We'll get through...together..."

Holding a smile on her face, the medical Genin would then look toward the door as she spoke the phrase.

"Ready..."

Sayua inspected the mushroom carefully, concerned that Miho may have picked one of the poisonous ones she encountered along the way. After a moment she relaxed and took a deep breath.

"Save your food!”
Sayua said to Miho with a smile. "I just ate a bunch of mushrooms myself,” she said. Maybe she should have checked with her to make sure she hadn’t had any of the ones with the purple polka dots on them, but her attention was taken by the arrival of the new person. They seemed friendly at first but soon after they began speaking of eating her cow.

"Hello there,”
Sayua said with a worried smile. "H-Hiromi is a dairy cow, better kept alive… at least until we see how long things will be and what the challenges are.”

She had come to adore her cow after spending four days painstakingly keeping it alive. She would be saddened if they had to eat it.

"In any case I am ready as well,”
she said, looking over the string reel Miho brought. "If we can find some lumber I can fix up another bow and do some neat tricks with string wire that might help with some of the obstacles. I can make walls too,” she finished.

Round Two: Cooperation Portion

Upon the shinobi getting to better know each other, as well as any cheaters or quitters being dismissed. The group would claim themselves to be ready and thus the second round would begin. An woman's voice would come over a PA system in the room's roof. "Thank you all for accepting the teams you've been given, as this next round they'll be your best resource for completing the task at hand. Consider this round a placement exam for your final round, as you'll be graded in large not just by completing the task at hand, but in doing so faster than any other team." This would be a race of objective completion on top of a team activity, but the doors hadn't opened and the challenge hadn't been explained.

"Ahead of you is a small obstacle maze, but inside this maze is no exit and it's a separate maze from the other contestants. However you won't be alone in the maze, as you're given the task of catching Jack our friendly jackalope! This will be no easy hare to catch, as it was specifically trained to evade shinobi like you. The maze is littered with paths only the rabbit can take, as well as threats which will only be activated by you the contestants." A simple goal of retrieval, it'd of been likely an annoyance to all, as surely they'd all at least once had that annoying retrieve the animal mission for some rich villager. How a D-rank mission could be an exam would likely become clear within the maze itself and the obstacles it provided.

"There will be important new rules on top of which you had to handle in the previous exam, firstly; you're not allowed to kill Jack! He's a good rabbit and his demise would be your disqualification. Secondly; you're not allowed to kill each other, if your teammates aren't helping that's their choice to hinder themselves and not your job to punish. Thirdly, no jutsu can be used directly upon Jack, if jack is inhibited by any active chakra a seal will go off on him designating your team in last place. Finally, you're expected to not dally, you won't know when your competitors complete their test, but if you're unable to catch Jack in less time than the other teams you'll receive a failing grade in this round specifically."

Upon finishing the narrative the double doors would open on their own, as they did so a freezing breeze would enter the already cool room. Peering into the 'maze' everyone would see a completely iced path. The walls, roof and floor were all ice. There'd be somewhat like tiles designated by the path ahead, each was 10ft by 10ft, there'd be three of these walled off at either side, before the fourth had no walls providing a split in the path. Beyond this point are three more tiles of 10ft with walls on either side until the third, which has a back wall as well providing a dead end of sorts. Center of this tile stands a small rabbit dressed in tiny deer horns. The walls enclosing these three tiles each having a small whole at the floor for the rabbit to traverse.

Familiar information:
Name: Jack
Race: Rabbit
Rank: S-rank
Nature: Wind
Description: Rabbit with tiny antlers, if you want a clearer image ask your assigned proctor.
SA's: (Unknown; defined by proctor)

Maze Information:
Mostly undiscovered, there's the rabbit at a dead end, but thirty feet prior is a path both left and right undiscovered.

Specialized SA's:
Based upon your performance in the last round, you'll be 'awarded' SA's of varying degree's.

Injury SA - a certain amount of weathering to your body due to past environments, it'll cause mistakes to be more painful and concentration to be weakened.

Fatigued SA - A certain level of famine, tiredness or thirst hindering your present state. Decreasing awareness, physical stamina and concentration to a lesser extent.

Low Reserves SA - A certain level of chakra drain based upon how much chakra was spent and whether or not any would be recovered. This'll effect the chakra cost of techniques you can cast as well as how much you can use jutsu this round.

These will be assigned to you by your proctor, so make sure your first post is rather short and keep in mind. YOU'RE setting your posting order, as soon as everyone posts once this'll be the order. At this point on the 48hr rule will be in full effect.

  • No killing the rabbit, it's death by your actions will be disqualification.
  • No casting jutsu DIRECTLY upon the rabbit, if caught you'll be disqualified and your team will be considered last.
  • No killing each other, if you're caught killing each other in this portion you'll not only be disqualified, BUT based on your leaders opinion and the Yuki Lady's advice, you can be put on trial for war crimes and punished up to the maximum charge of murder.
  • Your equipment counts as you, so those of you with dogs, if your dog kills the rabbit you'll be equally charged with killing it and thus disqualified.

Hearing of the next test ahead of them, seeing the proctor before them explain the newest challenge, only a sigh could escape from the young woman as she allowed a hand to be placed upon her face, cupping it beneath it as she honestly had not expected her to be doing something that she had done years ago in obtaining an older woman's cat from a tree. The only difference in this was that it was now a maze and the cat was a rabbit with antlers. Certainly not an extreme test, but still one none the less. In the end, they had to secure the rabbit without hurting it.

The fact that the creature was supposedly trained for evasion made it sound all the more difficult, not to mention that he had pathways in which to get away the moment they attempted to catch it. What surprises that awaited them remained to be seen, but she would do her best to get through this and help her team as well.

"Perhaps we should consider splitting up to allow for better chance at getting the rabbit...I do have walkie talkies in which for us to communicate...but perhaps we should better attempt to better know the area.."

Wasurete paid attention to the proctor as they spoke, but he wasn't looking at him. His gaze would dart towards every aspect of his team mates as he had been known to do with the actual teams he had made in past. He had two partners, and judging by how many doors there were, he was sure that at least one group of genin had a full set of five. They had been grouped off from the beginning, and so this group was already at a disadvantage, through no fault of Wasurete's own. This was something that immediately angered the entitled brat.

Those peasants making his job harder, and he didn't even have the chance to make them regret it. And, disappointingly, he wouldn't be able to dispatch of his teammates either. So what was Wasurete supposed to do hear, gather around the fire and sing kumbayah with these idiots? It was a series of events he was sure he'd route when he entered the next round. He was going to catch this rabbit, somehow. He didn't know the logistics yet, but he knew the outcome already. His group would be first, or he would kill that stupid rabbit trying.

When the doors did finally open. He didn't actually wait long at all. Not even really listening to his partner speaking as the sight of this maze was opened up to them. He was entranced by the rabbit, his vision not fading from the rabbit at all as he simply pondered to himself... how? "I'll attack first," he stated rather bluntly, turning his head to his teammates and beaming the biggest smile he could fake, "I promise not to kill it, or either of you for that matter, until after we move onto the next round." He squatted down, his eyes still fixated on the rabbit, and he put a hand on the back of his head before turning to his temporary teammates once again, this time, a surprisingly genuine expression of awkward laughter broke out as he put his arm behind his head, "After that though? I might kill everyone in the room, I haven't killed anyone in a long time, and I kinda thought these exams would have more of that. Only reason I joined."

"For now let us focus on the task at hand,” Sayua said to Wasu plainly while she pulled two makeshift socks that looked like they were made by stitched shirt sleeves over her feet before slipping her sandals back on. "It’d be a shame if we failed and you didn’t get your chance to kill us in the next round, after all.”

She looked at the rabbit and could feel its heart beating rapidly, then back to the cow whose heart was beating slowly. During her time out there sleeping with her cow as a pillow she thought she had started to imagine heartbeats while she was walking. She had thought herself delirious, but now that she was focusing on it she felt like she could feel the life force of her nearby teammates as well.

"I can feel its life force… and I can create walls...” she said. "Let’s try to lure it into a corner and try to trap it? I can try to give you positioning from the walkie...”

She looked back to her cow. She wasn’t sure if Hirmoi would be of any use in this trial. But perhaps getting a better look at the obstacles would reveal a use for her new friend.

Vital Sense
By utilizing her enhanced chakra control Sayua is able to feel the area around them with their chakra and locate nearby individuals through detecting their heartbeat, she can also determine if a person is wounded and roughly how severe the wound is. She can lastly detect but not identify the presence of toxins. Unlike a normal sensory talent she can not see objects or determine difference between different people unless they have something like an irregular heartbeat. Her talent requires locating chakra networks so it is still able to be blocked by those using chakra suppression, and also those who do not have a heartbeat or can hide it. She can sense out to a range of 150m when actively focusing. Within 30m she can passively detect with this ability.

Crafted cow hair stuffed socks equipped.

Jack-A-Boy was sitting at the end of the hallway, perked up where he stood at the dead-end. Well, for any human it would have been, anyway. There were several small holes that the rabbit could easily jump through, that the body of a human being wouldn't be able to wriggle into. But as the small group chatted among themselves, trying to form some sense of a plan, the rabbit's right ear would twitch as he'd listen in.
Radios, huh? That'd be no fun if he couldn't split them up and confuse them. No, no, no time for a plan! He'd have to get them moving now if he wanted to make sure they didn't strategize how to catch him!
So, not to allow them any more time in figuring out what to do, the rabbit would immediately start his escape! If they didn't want to immediately lose him, they'd have to play by his rules! Running would prompt them to chase! He'd first jump into the hole directly behind him--and now was unfortunately completely out of their eyesight unless they tried to travel down one of the hallways. But, from where he was hidden, the rabbit would then take an immediate left turn and dart down the long hallway--not a single spear triggered by his ridiculously light step. He only weighed a few pounds, after all, and he wasn't big and heavy like a human or a cow.
But still, for the shinobi, unless they immediately chased after him, they would now have no idea where he was or where he was going. They would have to act quick and correctly guess which direction he'd gone if they wanted to catch him utilizing one of the hidden revolving walls to escape from the apparent area! If they missed him, they might have had no idea he was still close by, and might not have any sign of which direction he'd gone! Of course, they might have had some other plan to catch him, but they'd have to act fast if they didn't want to lose him after it'd only just begun! And without triggering any of the traps, himself, the shinobi would probably be unsuspecting of where he'd gone or of any danger in the area, especially if he stayed out of their line of sight...

SAs:

NPC Note: I thought it'd be more fun to write out the SAs like actual traits one might see listed in the SA section of an app or a perk in DBD but ultimately these are still the same three "SA"s listed by Yoshiko--fatigue, injury, and chakra drain--so don't be disarmed by the different names. It's just me tryna have fun and spice things up--the SAs listed in the parentheses are the official affects gained.
However, some shinobi suffered quite more drastically than others, while some got away almost completely scott-free, and so as to not completely nerf one characters' ability and still give them a fighting chance, while also highlighting other conflicts than just physical limitations, I wanted to list off the negatives and positives of these various SAs that can be used and considered to your digression in a way that I feel is realistic, while still offering fair hindrances and handicaps.
Something that I also considered in each "SA" is the personalities being expressed through the characters and their writing. Obviously, each character is your own and to be written however you believe is in-character for them, I tried to word things to make it clear that the control is still completely up to you. But I wanted to also give mentions of things to keep in mind regarding each characters' traits and expressed personalities, which might be buffered or negatively affected by the stated SA (since so many of you got out of the last test almost completely unscathed, and there's more drawbacks and hindrances to be considered other than just physical). These are just things to consider regarding each character, which can be focused on if chosen, based on what I was able to see was IC for them and--likewise--benefits and drawbacks for each apparent characterization have been pointed out if you wish to play on them, but the SAs listed in parenthesis are the only parts you have to play into and keep in mind when writing your posts. Or maybe you'll want to play on your fatigue or SAs in a completely different way, since you know your character better than I do and might come up with different approaches or aspects of how it would affect them than what I was able to notice. Surprise me.

Miho - Second Wind (Fatigue, Moderate Injury, Moderately Chakra Drained)
Due to her experiences in her previous test, Miho is suffering from many adverse affects. Having sustained an injured shoulder--which although popped back into place, is still sore and restricts mobility without pain. An injured leg from her polar bear attack, although seared shut with her cauterizing technique, is still sore due to the muscle tears, and an open burn wound without medicinal application can lead to easy infection--causing deliriousness. Her frequent use of the flickering technique is putting great strain on her limbs, which are at risk of being torn, and her body feels strained due to sunburning and no long-term resting. Although a ration pill was used to make up for lost energy, Miho has been relatively dehydrated and although not at serious risk of death, is experiencing side effects of undernourishment due to her struggle to find sustainable food throughout her journey. Weary from the previous test and lack of sustainable sleep, Miho might be going a little stir-crazy, though now reunited with human beings, this sensation might lessen.
However, even despite her physical limitations and possible instability, Miho has hit a second wind. Although not well-rested and not likely to process information with clarity or rational thought, her ration pill has given her a great boost of energy--an adrenaline rush, and she's reached the point of exhaustion when the mind goes directly into bare survival mode, which is only buffered by the pill she took. Too tired to think clearly, Miho now will have to rely on pure instinct and her paranoia (due to deliriousness) has made her hyper aware of danger in her surroundings as fight-or-flight has kicked in and she's entered into a state of relying on pure survival instincts.
Pros: Hyper-Aware and high reliance of Survival's Instinct
Cons: Less Rational Thought, Slowed/Sluggish Reaction Time, Delirious
    Conflicts With: Agitation, Timed Test

Wasurete - Agitation (Minor Fatigue)
Wasurete did a good job surviving, although a bit dehydrated as he focused primarily on sustaining meat in his meals, he got through his zones without experiencing any extreme fatigue--although still a bit weary from his great travel. Although fairly rested due to many short breaks, he's still gone quite some time without a full or deep rest and is more irritable towards other people--especially considering his displeasure for them, already. Due to a tired psyche, and an annoyed stance towards others, and slight physical weariness, Wasurete will likely get more annoyed, frustrated, and aggressive easier as his patience runs thinner. Although he can still think with fair ration and keep to his beliefs and tactics, Wasurete's fatigue and irritation will likely show against his teammates and the objective of relying on one-another, and as his patience starts to wear thin, his act might as well.
Pros: Every Man For Himself assists chances of Self-Sufficiency and Survival
Cons: Hinders Teamwork and Coping With Teammates and their possible shortcomings or limitations, Aggressive toward the target
Conflicts With: Second Wind, Pack Bond, Teamwork/Non-Lethal Objective

Sayua - Pack Bond (Minor Fatigue)
Although Sayua managed to survive well on her own, remained hydrated, and kept herself fairly well-fed without poisoning or injury, travelling for such a great amount of time without a long, deep rest would wear anyone down even if only a little. Managing to keep her cow not only alive but with her through the trials, as well as relying on the creature for some form of self-sufficiency, Sayua is likely coming to the realization that she can't do everything on her own, and needs to rely on others as a group to increase the odds of success and survival. Weariness makes feelings all the stronger, and her slight fatigue from her journey would likely boost her already-established trait of sticking together, as well as her empathetic nature. She might now feel more inclined to stick together with her teammates and new cow companion, might now feel a stronger urge to maintain the well-being of those around her, and wish to ensure the safety of those with her in exchange for reckless abandon.
    Pros: Assists Teamwork
Cons: No Man Left Behind hinders Time Efficiency and Sacrificial Tactics
    Conflicts With: Agitation

Jack The Jackrabbit -

    Jack Be Nimble
Jack is a small thing, and doesn't weigh a whole lot--plus he's nimble-footed! He's light enough not to trigger most traps, and doesn't have to worry about slipping through any thin ice! Because of his special ability, he's quite skilled at maneuvering around traps and avoiding dangerous aspects of his surroundings! He can fit through small holes, and has many advantages in the maze that others would struggle with, and can usually make a quick escape.
    Jack Be Quick
He's a speedy boi! Jack is a pretty fast fellow, and he'll prove a bit of a difficulty catching. Better keep up or find some other way to keep track of him, otherwise it'll be easy to lose him with how fast he can run and how quickly he can turn a tight corner! Blink and you might miss him!
    Jack o' Kent
He's a clever boy. Unlike a normal rabbit, Jack can think and figure out a strategy to run so he doesn't blindly trap himself in a dead-end. Be careful, he's intelligent and perfectly capable of learning and figuring out solutions to tricky situations! Plus, he can definitely understand what you're saying--this isn't his first rodeo with a shinobi, and he knows what jutsu are.
    He's An Animal
Jack is still technically an animal, and has a pretty good sense of smell. Especially humans and other animals--unless they do something to mask their scent, he'll probably be able to catch a whiff of you and know you're coming. Though, a lot of times he'd rather rely on his hearing or eyesight

2020 Summer Chunin Exams:round 2

There was a lingering silence as Miho heard Wasurete comment, causing her gaze to linger upon him as she let her fingertips tap lightly at her hip. Honetly, she might have been better off on her own after all. Though in truth, this could be a sensation due to the many injuries she had and had not been treated properly. She was irritable to say the least, but she knew better than to allow her guard to be dropped based on a simple pact of alliance. She wasn't going to lose...she couldn't.

Though with so much going on in her head, and the likelihood of dropping on the spot lingered, the rabbit appeared to have booked it rapidly to the right side of them, taking off in the opposite direction of their starting point within this maze. Narrowing her eyes, she'd hand the walkie talkie over to Sayua, holding the other one as she looked toward Wasu.

"At this point, we don't have a choice but to work together...so lets save the ideas of killing one another for a later time. Perhaps for when we're actually facing one another..."

Her tone was direct, though she was truly not in the mood for any kind of words of threat at the time. Right now, with her blood pumping, she was ready to catch this rabbit. But even now, she felt her vision blurring in and out. But at least her sense of direction was still somewhat there.

Doing her best to move, she'd quickly move after the creature, her limp hindering any faster pace as she did her best to keep up with the creature.

"Wasurete! Head up the middle! I'll draw it out from hiding and try and put in direct eye sight for you! Sayua...hang right in case we can't trap it that way..."

It was more or less a means to try and stop it from two sides. They still had no idea just what to expect in this maze, but it was better to be safe in case the obstacles were indeed as dangerous as they sounded. Plus, with her current condition, she wasn't going to be of much value in a chase. These two whoever, may just prove to be up for it.

Sadly, this was the best plan she could come up with at the moment, and even that was making her head hurt. She just knew that she had to get it. If she needed to rely on this people for that alone, than so be it.

This is gonna be tough...your not at your best

"I know! But I have to try! Gah!"

Speaking to herself didn't help her position either, brushing her hair from her face as she made her way after the beast with two antlers.

WASURETE
"I should take the walkie," Wasurete reached his hand out, expecting it to be placed there as he stood up and began walking towards the entrance of the maze. He grabbed Miho by the back of her shirt and kept her from walking any further forward. "You're delirious and injured, stick with cow girl, I'll take the other walkie and draw out the rabbit. You're way too slow with that limp to catch up to the thing," Wasurete was always blunt, that was true, but this time it had an actual purpose. He wasn't really wanting to waste time on this trial, and he had been a decent strategist with his team so far.

His head turned towards the cow girl and he smiled. "If at all possible, as you walk through the halls, close every hole you find with earth, the less escape paths he can create the better. Hell," he smirked, "Wall off an actual path way if you can. Make the area he can run in as small as possible. I'm going to take lead on strategy if you don't mind, it's my specialty. Keep with the right side though cow girl, start closing off path ways. Leave the cow here at the entrance too if you don't mind." If Wasurete hadn't been handed one of the walkies by this point he'd likely just shrug before, to Miho specifically, his body would disappear, leaving only his clothing. Wasurete was in no mood to wait around, and a combination of his mind tricks and an actual body flicker would have him heading towards the left path way. Dashing as far as he could and hoping to catch sight of the rabbit again. He was going to keep left as much as possible, it's how he solved those handwritten mazes usually.

If he had his walkie, he'd keep his team mates posted about anything he saw, but otherwise he'd just dash as far left as he could and then begin heading up the path that lead him toward.
HOLD ME CLOSE. DON'T LET GO.

 Iroaseta [Faded]
Something Wasurete has simply for stylistic choices, this move is meant to imitate the Body Flicker Technique in unique style. Instead of the user actually transporting themselves anywhere, this simply fools the target into thinking they have moved. Wasurete will allow for his clothing to pass over his face and above his head, upon the clothing falling back down, He will be gone, and his clothing will remain. Falling to the ground as no one is within it anymore.

Shunshin no Jutsu [Body Flicker Technique]
By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, and any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

"Jack went left, he isn’t too far yet,” Sayua told them. "You both have good ideas, I’ll do my best to support with whatever we decide,” she said with a plain face, a nervousness in her eye as she watched the two.

"I agree with your tactic, Wasu, but we need every advantage we can get, Miho can help too,” she said as she moved quickly to get in front of the leaf genin and reached her hands out towards her shoulders. She would begin to channel a modest amount of chakra into her temporary ally, making sure to leave enough that she could still create walls. She then beckoned for her cow to move forward alongside the trio.

"Miho, I gave you some of my chakra, I could also try to bind your wounds…” she offered, unaware of the girl’s superior medical knowledge. "I know there isn’t much time, and I don’t have the supplies to do it, but… I can try.”

She kept moving as she made the offer until she came to the end of the corridor that opened up into the maze. "Hiromi, have a rest here girl,” she told the cow and patted her on the back in hopes to get it to lay down. "Hiromi carries my scent, I'll keep her near the entrance and hopefully Jack won’t think about doubling back here.”

She would again focus on her sixth sense, listening for the rapid beats of Jack’s heart to get his position.
