The sheath it's held in is made of a brown, suitcase like material. The blade itself is 40 inches long, and after years of constant training and sharpening, it has become a very deadly weapon. The strength of the blade, in the right hands can split a boulder with relative ease, block projectiles of those weaker than or of equal power as the user, and it can harness the chakra of the user to create an even deadlier weapon.  ABILITIES: Strength Beyond Strength: The strength of the user is an important factor of how effective the weapon is, however, the sword itself is made out of a powerful steel-like alloy that is made to be strong enough to slice through flesh and bone like paper, and through rock and lesser metals with relative ease. Depending on the user, the added use of Katon not only increases the strength of the blade, but it makes it possible to cut and set the target on fire simultaneously.
