Kunikunosaku unzipped the bag given to her by her clan, almost like they prepared for her trip for her. What the girl found put a smile on her lips, the first genuine one in a while. The girl took out the new clothes and went to the restroom to adorn them. Minutes later, Kunikunosaku came out, tendrils poking through her arms and flailing in the air. While it was definitely more revealing then her previous outfit, it definitely allowed more usage of her hijutsu. A knock on her door caused the tendrils to shoot back in the girl as the sealed the holes they came from. Kunikunosaku waited for some assassin, an attack, something of malicious intent but the voice of a womn dictated mail, as well as a note paper slid under her door.

"Uh. Thank you!" Kuni stated as she moved to the paper, ready to go home. Picking up and reading the note crushed the girl's hopes. There was a storm that passed overnight, causing a snow in and keeping trains from coming in or out of Byakuya... no one was going home and it wouldn't be cleared in time. The girl crushed the paper in her fist and eyes narrowed. "Well, there goes my plan of going home." Guess we have to stay here and train. You're right, but where? Anywhere wandering eyes are not. Kuni and Kōi were finally talking for once, not shouting. Maybe a breakthrough in their relationship occurred in the Exams.

Kunikunosaku walked over to her window and opened it, deciding to take the express way, she made her exit. Landing on snow, the girl began wandering for somewhere she belonged.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Snow crunched as the girl made her way to the back outskirts of Byakuya, in between the town and the mountains surrounding it. Finding the place comfortable and hidden from casual view, Kunikunosaku raised a hand, threads shooting out to create a near perfect clone of herself. Kunikunosaku watched as the clone in essence came to life and moved closer to the girl. Don't punch it, don't punch it. Kunikunosaku thought to herself as it seemed as if the two were sizing each other up. The clone didn't take long to throw the first punch to which the girl blocked with equal force. The blow was but for a moment before pulling back in to deliver a side kick.

Kunikunosaku looked at the leg, lost what to do before raising her own leg to block the blow. In haste, Kuni grabbed the clones leg before spinning to throw it a distance. Like the girl would, the clone recovered in the air, coming back to the ground without a scratch. The girl glared at her clone. Their taijutsu skill is equal, a perfect match, but there are ways they are not. Kunikunosaku growled as she ran toward the clone, launching an offensive side kick which the clone dodged. The Genin watched, surprised at the clone's reaction, but before she could pull back, her leg was caught in a lock. While the girl had a chance to counter attack, she allowed the clone to smash its elbow to her knee, breaking a leg if it was able to. Releasing the leg, the clone walked back almost mocking the girl as she growled in frustration, letting the threads pull back.

She needed a way to trick or deceive the clone, over power it with the least amount of chakra. Something that wouldn't destroy it but blind it, the girl sat in the snow to think.

DESCRIPTION:
By expelling some of her their threads a user will create a rough clone of themselves. They have a lifespan of roughly three posts, and can be made in fairly large numbers. Along with being able to be made in large numbers, the clones are able to use their threads to wrap and skewer opponents before they dissipate. Like many elemental clones they are unable to use anything bar Taijutsu. When the clones either dissipate or are destroyed any surviving threads will attempt to return to the user.

She could just throw a flash or a smoke bomb, but what if like last round, she didn't have those? What then? It was at that moment Kunikunosaku remembered seeing her clan kin creating smoke or some kind of ash with Katon. Before Kuni could get up, a heavy kick to the back of her head knocked her down. The girl was quite frankly annoyed with her clone already. Amassing her chakra, Kuni got up and tried to kick the clone, a feat easily blocked, the girl frowned and threw a right hook, knocking the clone back. Expecting it to dissipate, Kunikunosaku stood slightly surprised the clone rose back to its feat. "Oh I see how it is, if I hit you, you stay. But if someone else does, you explode! Heh... Bring it!"

The white haired Genin found a new wind to fight this clone, or at least a new sense of how hard to train. These were the Chūnin Exams, Kunikunosaku couldn't risk going easy, so this chance was great. The two ran at each other and collided arms, both watching where to strike. The clone instantly crouched to unleash a leaf whirlwind, Kuni knew how that technique worked but instead of avoiding it, she followed through with a hammer strike, interrupting the clone as she grabbed its neck and slammed it to the ground.

Picking the clone back up, she threw the clone again. This time, as hard as she could. Kuni thought how she was to create smoke/ash. It couldn't be that hard, right?

Weaving hand-seals, Kunikunosaku allowed the chakra in her to build in her mouth. All the clone could do at this point was charge at the girl and hope it would stop her before she released a jutsu. The girl prepared to blow smoke or ash, instead, Kunikunosaku ended up weaving the seals to launch a fireball straight at the clone. Within seconds, the threads the close was composed of lit ablaze, Kunikunosaku simply watched the whole thing in shock and embarrassment. "Well, that was unexpected... Maybe I should try lighter." The girl admitted, realizing how lost she was without any materials or guidance. The Takigakure shinobi tapped her finger against her upper lip, resting her palm on her chin as she tried to think.

There must be a simpler way. Kunikunosaku tried weaving less seal to expel this would be jutsu. Unlike the case of misfiring a different jutsu, Kuni set off no jutsu. What are you doing? Trying to learn a new jutsu. No, you're failing to learn a new jutsu... What are you trying to do? God, you can be su-... Sorry, see, remember when our clan member created that big cloud of smoke then made it explode? I'm trying to learn that or at least how to make that smoke. I don't think you can just learn that exact technique, he said he didn't learn it till he joined Shukan. Which means he didn't learn it till he was at least Chūnin, we are still Genin. Can't we just rest, or rather you?

Kuni listened to Zangyaku Kōi, she was making sense yet, it was very limiting of the duo, something both have seen to not work in there favor. Kunikunosaku stood up, "No, I'm gonna learn something we can use against these runts."

You are dense. Move over, let me try. Kōi mentally shouted before closing its eyes. In a snap, Kōi grabbed a smoke bomb and threw it hard against the ground. Quickly, the container exploded and a giant plume of smoke shot out. Kōi crouched to examine the shell, noting the inside looked completely burned, but there was no clear source. This wasn't black like burning smoke. It was an ashen gray akin to an artificial conduit. That alone was a major difference between the two. Another was the lack of burning embers, Kōi concentrated as it reached for a new bomb, hearing Kuni's objection in its thoughts but paying no attention to her.

Kōi took the little bomb, and placed it in its jaws. The creature stood back up before snapping the bomb's shell with its teeth. Smoke instantly filled the body of Kuni to no damage. The figure mimicked the clan member's movements and released the smoke from inside. It seemingly covered a larger area than normal, and independently, was much thicker than a average smoke bomb. What exactly did Kōi do? Well, in essence, as the smoke was being ejected, Kōi laced the smoke with chakra, using pre-existing smoke as a conduit. A trick so impossible yet executed with ease.

"Hey... what were his hand-seals again?" Kōi coldly asked, almost holding back a ranting rage. The exact seals or the number?

Both Kuni! Both! Fuck, calm down... Umm... Snake, Rat, Snake, Dragon, Dog, Tiger. I think, I know six in total. The order gave the creature a sense of what it wanted. There was a cloud of uncertainty, however, that is what made the thing worth it. Zangyaku kōi concentrated once more and slowly formed Snake and Tiger seals, chakra seemingly reacting within the beast, surging and molding. Opening its mouth in an attempt to blow out smoke, only embers shot out of Kōi. Quickly place a hand to its chin, the creature began to pace in thought, trying to figure out what went wrong. Kuni walked forward, concentrating anf amassing enough chakra to cause the tendrils to poke out and start flailing; weaving the seals, Kuni expelled enough chakra to spit a small gut of fire. Yelping in surprise, Kuni covered her mouth, looking side to side. Less chakra! The internal voice of Kōi yelled at Kuni.

Alert to what she needed to do, Kuni nodded and simply muttered, "Acknowledged."

The Genin proceeded with the technique and expelled a small puff of smoke and embers. Kunikunosaku cheered before a booming voice silenced her. That won't even help against Hideo! How do you think that'll work against these Chūnin prospects?! Gah! Fine, fine, fine! I'll try again, just stop fucking yelling! The two fought again as Kuni recomposed herself once more, allowing more chakra to come to the surface; weaving the seals again, Kuni felt her upper body fill with vaporized chakra. Expelling the matter caused the girl to be surrounded by black ash, 10 meters in all directions.

The smoke was populated by burning embers floating within the ash cloud. Kunikunosaku laughed joyously as the smoke and embers seemingly danced around her before blowing away. Good, you did it, now to perfect it, you dumbass. Kōi took partial control of Kuni's arm. Forcing the threads to make a new Black Clone, Kōi would resume to speak. You haven't learned a technique if you can't use it in combat. This clone will come at you, simply destroy it with that new technique. Kuni nodded in agreement before getting control of her arm again.

"Okay then, Kōi, come at me like a Chūnin would!" Kuni stated, preparing for a fight.

The time to test was finally here, much shorter than Kuni expected. She knew she was proficient in her hijutsu, but she never realized it meant she was a ninjutsu prodigy. The time to celebrate wasn't here yet though, it was the time to fight. Kuni looked at the clone with a murderous gaze, a look paid in return. The clone raised a seal and vanished in flames, Kunikunosaku readied herself and she heard the snow crunch behind her. Kuni ducked and swept her leg a full 180, seemingly knocking the clone off its feet as she raised a leg to slam an ax kick and the clone to the earth.

The clone rolled away and Kuni scoffed, "We're better than that! Try again!" The girl taunted as she readied herself. Instead of a surprise attack, the clone went for a full frontal assault, punching and kicking at openings Kuni had. Both ended up trading blows at a high speed. Each had an impact unlike any other, neither yielding no matter what the other did. Eventually, the clone got the upper hand by utilizing the Tree whirlwind technique, catching the Genin off guard and knocking her a ways back.

Crashing in the snow, Kunikunosaku laid on the ground, trying to bait the clone to come for her. Pretending to weakly get up successfully lured in the clone, what was the plan now?

It seemed Kunikunosaku failed to deliver as the clone closed in. However, the girl wasn't done yet as she weaved the two hand-seals as she pretended to fall and push herself up. The clone grabbed Kuni's shoulder to try and turn her for a knock out punch. As soon as the clone touched Kuni, she gripped the hand and yanked it to the side. Using her right hand, Kuni slammed and gripped the fist to keep the clone from moving. Opening her mouth, Kuni shot a barrage of smoke and ash at the clone's eyes, watching as the clone freaked out like a normal human, releasing what she held to dodge the clone's blinded swings.

Sneaking behind the clone, Kunikunosaku weaved two more seals to essentially turn her hands into talons. She placed one hand on the clone's shoulder, holding it in place as Kuni took her othr hand and used the Talons to pierce were the heart would be, driving her hand straight through in a swift motion and tearing through with ease. The clone's threads crawled back into Kunikunosaku, essentially absorbing what she killed.

A cold chuckle emanated from the girl as her hand turned back to normal. "Yep, I mastered it, now I'm ready to take on the world!"

Being that fingernails are made mostly of the same substance as the hair, the nails will take the keratin of the skin around them to grow out longer. This causes the skin to tighten and leads to the bulging veins of the move. The nails don't grow out long or ensnare enemies like the parent technique, instead more chakra is poured into making them as strong as steel, and as sharp as a blade. The nails grow sharp enough to mimic the abilities of Kunai.

After having succeeded in learning a new jutsu, Kuni went back into Byakuya's heart. The girl idly walked the streets, paying no attention to the looks she was given for how she was dressed. Kunikunosaku visited one of the CE merchants to resupply her tools. Once the deed was done, Kunikunosaku headed over to Byakuya's Hot Springs. after the initial check in, the girl removed her jacket and boots before entering the springs. It was to no benefit but the imagery of the springs being of any benefit was nice. Kunikunosaku closed her eyes and looked up. So, how do you think we'll fare in this last portion? Anything less than winning is a grave offense to all that we have done to get here and to everyone back home.

Kunikunosaku snapped her eyes open and looked forward. "Since when did you suddenly care about honor?" I don't even know, I'm just becoming more like you, I guess. And damn it is disgusting. Kunikunosaku sighed, "I actually been feeling more like you and it just makes me doubt what I said." You mean, back at Ogura's Lounge? "The fact you remember amazes me, Miss Atrocity."

Getting out from the springs and drying off, Kunikunosaku walked the Byakuya streets back to her room. So, the hell do you mean you're starting to doubt what you said? Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.
