WASURETE
Wasurete was disappointed. He had been hoping to get straight to the the Uchiha in this exam, he had heard stories about their eyes. He didn't know much about them, he hadn't been able to find information about the specifics of their abilities, but they were worth something, maybe he could rip those eyes out and catch a pretty penny for them, someone in his clan had to have some sort of connection to the right market for those devil eyes. That was something he would have to worry about another time however, tonight he'd be worrying about something much different.

Yoshioka Kouiki. He hadn't managed to grab much information about them, he was aware that they were someone from here in Yukigakure. They were probably much more used to the cold than he was. He was smart enough to wear his mission uniform for this outing, with one modification, wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath the t-shirt and jacket he'd normally wear, as well as switching to close toed boots as opposed to the regular open toed shoes. He still wanted to advance in the shinobi world after all, he'd be able to get away from that brat Hideo if he was officially a chuunin after all.

He wandered onto the battlefield with his bell in hand. Tossing it up and down as he wandered towards the center of the battlefield. He wasn't activating any of his genjutsu obviously, but this would let him do it the moment battle started. He was prepared, he wanted to end this battle quickly, he didn't like frontal fights, he was an assassin, not a brawler. He knew Kunikun was watching him, and this wasn't just for her, rather a performance made to get everyone else here on edge. "Hey, Kuni-kun," he laughed as he shouted back to her, "I'm pretty sure if we just slaughter all these people we win, so tear that Uchiha to shreds. I'll end this one quick so you can get to it."
HOLD ME CLOSE. DON'T LET GO.

At long last, Kouki finally got what he asked for; a good old-fashioned brawl. The survival portion was interesting in some aspects, but the rabbit chase was tedious and annoying. This was Kouki’s bread and butter. Shisen Wasurete…Kouki only herd the name coming into the exams but that was about it. He really had no idea how his foe was going to fight. The good thing was Kouki was going to have no intention of figuring it out. That is to say, he wasn’t going to give his foe the time to show off whatever it is they can do. It was fun to see all of these foreigners have to put on more layers of clothing and shiver in the cold that Kouki was very used to. He needed nothing more than his typical shinobi attire to weather these temperatures. He stepped out of the bunker and saw his opponent on the opposite side. He could hear him making some snide remark about "slaughtering” the opponent to someone. That was ticking him off. "Let’s see if you can come close to that, Short Stack!” He jeered and gave a light chuckle. Overconfident people really got Kouki’s blood boiling. It was going to feel so good to beat the little punk’s face in. Wasurete looked to have the stature and power of milquetoast.

The yellow haired genin cracked his knuckles, but purposefully held his fist in his hand after finishing his knuckle cracking. This was so that the moment the bell, or siren, or flag was waved, Kouki could instantly weave some handsigns. He wanted to do everything he could to make the first move. Regardless of what his opponent was going to do, he was going to shoot out some lava globs right in his pompous little direction, whilst dashing with usagi senpo. It was time to see if Wasutete’s bite was worse than his bark.

WASURETE
There was no reason to waste time here. This blonde idiot was already pretty grating to Wasurete. This was supposed to be his chance to face someone with an ability he could dissect, a trophy he could take home and make some money off of. There was one thing that this battle would allow him to do however, it would allow him to finally to begin the goal he was truly after. Something his clan was known for. Murder. He let the dog continue yapping, because today would be the day that the good field hand would finally be put down.

The moment the bell sounded, Wasurete would have sent the bell flying towards his opponent. The benefit there being, that it was highly unlikely that he'd block out that sound, and far more unlikely that he wouldn't notice Otoko weaving a single fake hand signal. The hope would be to trap the young shinobi in two jutsu at once, one to attack his sight, and the other to attack his hearing. The bell would be to attack his hearing, and the likelihood of avoiding it was low, so Wasurete was confident that he'd atleast garner a pause before the man could finish whatever handseals he was about to attempt as the sound of ringing filled his ears, growing louder and louder by the moment.

That's where Wasurete's handseal would come in. If seen, then Kouki's next vision would be of Wasurete being enveloped in snow, and Wasurete using that trick of sight to get to the top of one of the four rocks in the arena. Besides the one he threw, all of Wasurete's bells were already attached to senbon, for ease, as well as his 5 explosive tags being equipped to a senbon of their own, leaving 6 of them free of any add on. This would be a simple attack, but one that should work in theory. With an opponent distracted by noise, and whatever nightmare he was currently viewing, Wasurete would throw two explosive attached senbon, one to either side of the blonde opponent. The idea being that they'd get caught up in the massive inferno, hopefully ending this useless fight quickly.
HOLD ME CLOSE. DON'T LET GO.

Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu - [Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique]
Activated by the user seeing a handseal, the illusion begins with the user being quickly obscured by some material natural to the location and disappearing from sight once it clears. This material could be leaves, sand, water, etc. A somewhat slower burning technique, it is still quite effective as this is a genjutsu that reveals the fears that dwell inside people's hearts. Everyone has an image of the one thing they wouldn't want to ever see. This genjutsu is a technique that draws forth such an image from within the heart and has one mistake it for reality. First, an imaginary circle of leaves will spin around and envelop the target, falling away shortly after. After a short period, the illusion will begin. This is to make the illusion more convincing, since the user will likely have moved before the illusion sets in. If the mental image is a gruesome one, the shock will be accordingly great. [2 rotations max from start to finish]
Naru Kane: Konton [Ringing Bells: Chaos]
The first technique to affect the volume of the bells. Konton is a technique that takes the ringing of the bells, and amplifies it to a near deafening volume. The sound of the ringing, in the ears of the victim, will be amplified to an alarming extent. Many under the affects of the genjutsu clutching at their ears to block out the sound. This being a genjutsu, after it's activate, covering your hears does nothing.

The proctor rang the bell, and it seemed both opponents had the same idea. Kouki let chakra rush to his legs as he began to rush into Wasurete at a high speed. As he was doing so, he would attempt to weave the hand seals needed to perform his lava glob technique. The tiny opponent had seem to fling a bell in Kouki’s direction and it was intercepting him as he was dashing towards the left. It felt like slow motion. The bell whizzed past the boy’s right side of his face, and his eyes trailed the direction of the bell to the point his head turned in the direction of the it. This caused him to stop the usagi senpo about three fourths of the distance between him and Wasurete. He naturally slid on his feet a couple meters backwards trying to brake due to the speed at which he was going. He had heard the jingle of the bell as it past him as well as the sound of the it hitting the other side of the arena. He grinned for a moment thinking a single bell was too easy, but then he realized the ringing didn’t stop. In fact, it was getting worse.

Kouki covered both of his ears and winced with his head hanging slightly. His whole body was tensed up as it felt this sound was rattling his whole body due to the volume. He clenched his fists until his knuckles went white.
"Shit! That’s loud! Just from one bell?” Was this some sort of sound ninjutsu? Even so, it was ludicrous to think the little tyke could make all this noise with just one bell. Kouki was having difficulty focusing, but instinct was kicking in. Beat up the opponent and the sound should stop…at least in theory. His eyes still wincing, Kouki glanced around and saw what he thought were the feet of his enemy on top of one of the rocks. "Little shit.” Trying to breathe more deeply, Kouki let his legs be filled with chakra again as he made another zig zag dash for the rock. The last zig zag had Kouki closing in with the boulder where he would then take his elbow and, with twist of his midsection, would send it barreling into the rock. The force most likely sending debris flying in the direction of the impact and reducing the boulder to rubble. The intent here was to throw his opponent off figuratively and literally. Maybe if he just keeps swinging, an attack will hit and the noise will stop.

Jutsu used:
x2
NAME: Usagi Sanpo [Rabbit Walk]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
DESCRIPTION:
Usagi Sanpo is the art of moving really fast, in a nonlinear direction. The user approaches the target in a zig-zag pattern, pouncing left and right while facing the opponent. Due to speed of the movement, and the irregular pattern, they are often confused as to when or how to strike, thus leaving them aghast until it's too late.

NAME: Konoha Kaigansho - [Tree Leaf Rock-Destroying Rise]
RANK: B
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: N/a
DESCRIPTION:
The user rotates and uses their momentum to smash their elbow into their opponent, using their other arm as support. The damage done is enough to send the opponent flying several dozens of meters away and can even break apart a large amount of coral or even a giant boulder into a small amount of rocks and debris.

WASURETE
His opponent's eyes were averted following the sending of the bell, that was certainly a shame as his opponent had avoided one of Wasurete's favourite techniques. It wasn't one he had much worry about, however. That was a technique that didn't really cost Wasurete much in the way of his chakra reserves, something he was more than willing to attempt once again. At the end of the day, he was much happier that the first technique had landed, because it took a lot more out of his reserves, which seemed to be the cost for the ease at which it could be employed on his opponents. That being showcased in spades as his opponent stopped on his path to him, clutching at his ears as Wasurete smirked. To anyone watching in the arena, it would seem as if he had stopped for no reason. Unfortunately, Wasurete knew that anyone who was as analytical as he, would have observed the source of his ability. That would certainly be a shame because if one could block against the sound of his bells, they'd have a much easier time against the genin. Wasurete would still have his other genjutsu however, and this was an opportunity to test out that theory.

He could see that his opponent was recovering as he stood up on that massive boulder. Wasurete would smirk, he looked, and unfortunately he wasn't looking at Wasurete, not high enough for Wasurete to look to activate any of his techniques yet anyways. It would be a waste to try again unless he was sure it could land. That's when his opponent begin dashing towards Wasurete however. Since his opponent wasn't where he had expected, Wasurete had gotten his explosive tags ready for what, at the time, he thought was no good reason. It meant he still had all 5 however, and it meant he had too in his immediate grip. He didn't have much time, and he wasn't the fastest, but he could leap off the rock before someone else could close the long distance between the two of them. And that's what Wasurete did, as his opponent rushed in towards him, he sprung off of the rock with as much force as he could muster, and sent one senbon down towards the base of the rock.

He didn't need to hit his opponent, he just needed to have them close enough. Close enough that the explosion would send him flying. It would, at it's best, kill the welp so Wasurete could go back and watch some more interesting fights. The more likely situation was that it would hurt, a lot. Wasurete wanted to bark something at him, but he knew the dumb mutt wouldn't be able to hear much over the constant ringing in his ears.

He may not be able to hear, but Kouki could tell when an elbow demolishes a boulder. Besides rubble flying, there was nothing in front of Kouki. More than likely the brat jumped in the nick of time. Without much thought after that Kouki felt himself propelled to the right. He did not hear it, but an explosion happened a few feet away. The force of which threw him against the side of the arena. His back met the wall and knocked the wind clear out of him. The boy slid down on his butt, and took a deep breath sense the wall so rudely knocked it out of him. He stifled a cough before grunting in complete anger. While sitting he glanced to find the little turd landing nice and safely a few meters away from the now crumbled rock. He quickly fished around his jacket pocket to grab two smoke bombs. Both in his right hand, he threw the first directly at Wasurete in an attempt to blind him. Kouki then let the second drop about one meter away, 45 degrees to his left. As both exploded and let out their thick smoke, Kouki stood up and dashed to his left going clockwise around the arena. His goal was the boulder in front of the direction he was facing. To smoke bombs in their designated locations should hopefully be enough to mask where Kouki had went. His back was towards the boulder and he was facing the arena wall.

The ringing had not ceased, but Kouki was getting used to how loud it sounded. The boy took another breath to center himself. He couldn’t numb the pain of the sound. He just had to accept it. Without wasting any time, the boy pulled up his pants from the ankles and his jacket sleeves from his wrists to reveal his training weights. Each weighing a wopping one hundred pounds. Kouki was careful not to let them thud onto the ground. As he was unwrapping them he could literally feel the weight being lifted off of his body. He was feeling as light as a cloud. Weighing 400 pounds less was going to make the genin a lot faster, and he was going to make this speed boost count.

WASURETE
Wasurete caught a lucky break on that one. With the way that rock bursted into pieces, he was sure that if he'd still been on that rock the sheer shockwave would have knocked him down, left him open for another attack. Either way, the lucky escape wasn't all he had to be happy about, he had hoped to get a bit closer, but seeing his opponent fly into the distance was certainly a pleasing site to see as tried his best to land safely on the ground. The snow was still there, and as he landed he could feel his feet sliding in the snow before he caught himself.

His opponent had been knocked to his ass, and their eyes met. Wasurete wasn't going to wait around, he had one strategy this whole time, and this was his chance. His hands met in a single, fake hand sign. And Wasurete couldn't help but smirk as he felt confident that this time his genjutsu had landed. If it had, then what what his opponent would see next would be two fold. Straight from the hand sign, Wasurete used the other Senbon he was still holding, sending the second paper bomb right at him. Wasurete didn't have the best aim in the world, but it wouldn't be hard to get close to a stationary target, no ninja worth their salt would be far off from a target like this.

The explosion, if Kouki was still near it, would be more than enough to cause some serious damage. But that was much less important to Wasurete than that hand sign he had weaved. To Kouki, it would look as if snow had obscured Wasurete from vision. In reality, Wasurete would be obscured from vision by the explosion of smoke that had just surrounded him from Kouki's own projectile. Something which Wasurete wasn't happy with in the slightest. But he'd be in better shape than Kouki would be, as Kouki would be caught in his own nightmare, whatever image it was that scared Kouki more than anything else in the world.

The intent to get to the next boulder was apparently a figment of Kouki’s imagination. By the time he had glanced to the left to ensure his second smoke bomb wouldn’t go too far. He looked to the ground to see a senbon half a meter to his right. "Oh Shi-!” Instinctively raising his right arm to his face, the bomb’s explosion was even closer than the last. Not only was there a blast to push Kouki away, the proximity of the blast’s heat blew off the whole left sleeve and tattered the right side of his pants. Whatever skin that was exposed was burned as Kouki took several log rolls over to the left. His plan was still in affect even if he did get blown up. The blast got him about halfway to his destination. The remainder of his time was then jolting upright and making a mad dash for the boulder. The genin dodge rolled into the back of the boulder. He clenched his right arm and winced for a moment. The shock of the event leaving being replaced with the reality of the pain. At least Kouki was very used to pain. His goal did not change. Kouki wanted these weights of immediately. Still making sure he lays them down without noise, Kouki was taking deep breaths to focus back into reality. He’s going to be even faster now which should buy him more time and reduce the amount of error in his landing of taijutsu.

The ringing was still making no sense. It was one bell thrown, a tiny little bell at that. Plugging his ears earlier didn’t work either. Perhaps it was genjutsu? It would make sense as it wasn’t necessarily the volume of the sound but the nature of it that doesn’t add up. Two explosions later and the bell ringing is the same. Kouki could barely make out the explosions at all. Ringing bells don’t just blot out explosions. If Wasurete really was a genjutsu user, Kouki might need to be just a little more tactful in how he wants to advance…no matter how much he wanted to punch this kid.

Tough as Nails (Physical Durability)
Always being the one to dive head first into a fight, Kouki has had his fair share of bruises, cuts, broken bones, you name it. All this has culminated into his body becoming very durable. He can take quite the beating before his body will give out due to physical damage. He is still susceptible to damage to the mind and genjutsus.

WASURETE
Things were going well so far. He was keeping a good distance between him and his opponent, and while from the sounds of things, he didn't think that his visual technique had landed at this point. Wasurete at this point was covered in smoke however, and he needed to take care of that first. He wanted to head to the center of the field, because he knew that his opponent had been pushed to the outskirts. At this point it was for the best that Wasu had himself in the center, leaving him as many routes as possible open for escape from this kid. Based on his speed and strength against that boulder, he was well versed in Taijutsu, so keeping distance was important.

Wasurete was a strategist at heart and he needed to keep that route available. Escaping from the center and getting to the top of the center boulder. Wasu looked out at the field available to him. One boulder destroyed, no cover to the left of it, and yet Wasu couldn't see his opponent. It wasn't impossible he had a speed to go to the right most boulder, but it seemed unlikely after only having just recovering from an explosion. So there was one option that seemed most likely, there was one boulder he was likely to be behind, and Wasurete was going to keep his attention set there. He stood up on the boulder, he knew that his opponent wouldn't hear him, but he was having fun at this point, "C'mon out Kukkī!! A couple little explosions aren't gonna stop you are they."

Wasurete took two more of his paper bombs out and threw one at either side of the boulder he was on, placing one at the center, facing the boulder he was sure Kouki was hiding behind. With that, Wasurete simply knelt down on top of the boulder, and put his hands up in the symbol of the snake, nt releasing his chakra yet, but sitting in wait. Ready to activate the bombs, and lying in wait to activate his hell viewing technique, whichever was necessary in the moment.

As soon as she heard Wasurete say her name, Kunikunosaku's attention locked on Wasurete. How would we manage to kill everyone? Hell, how do you think I can- wait, it's me. Kuni nodded, watching Wasurete go to his match. As soon as the door closed behind him, Kuni focused her attention on the windowed wall that allowed the other contestants to view the match. Sitting in her seat, the girl held her thumb in her fist as she locked her eyes on the approaching yellow haired giant. Is this some kind of joke? Is that a real Yuki? The Taki Genin thought as she continued her spectating role. Straight off the bat, Wasu did the same strategy when they actually fought. Kuni crumbled against the ringing and this boy seemed to rage out, crashing into rock after rock.

While this amused the girl, it irritated her to no end. Wasu... that arrogant prick of an aristocrat... why wasn't he ending it? "Damn it Wasu, you missed three damn chances." Kuni muttered, pulling at her thumb enough to tear the stitching before letting it recover for her to repeat. She can't hurt herself that bad, it seemed like Jiongu was trying its best to keep the girl from accidentally killing them both, which is understandable given their history. Kuni continued staring at the fight as Wasu wailed an explosive tag at his opponent. The explosion's force seemed to hit the opponent and push him violently, making the girl groan in frustration. "Just kill him." The Kunoichi grumbled, looking away.

Kill this bastard and don't let him kill you, that's my job. Kuni thought, feeling a sense of worry and caution. Why? Did... The Mikatakujira don't take murder attempts lightly, he tried killing the clan apprentice; tried killing her. It tugged at her mind, just, why did she exactly care. This entire experience, this whole time, she showed him she actually cared for him a rather great deal; watching him now, watching him use his precious genjutsu and tactics in a solid attempt to stop, even kill this Kouki bitch... it was nerve-racking. Kunikunosaku watched as the fight shifted to a smokey waiting game. It irritated her it was taking this long, he missed so many chances, so many opportunities to send this fool to hell. The girl rested her arms on her knees and buried her head in her hands. "Hurry the hell up!"

... and don't die.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

He may have the chakra for it, but Kouki doesn’t necessarily enjoy long, drawn out fights. It always feels the best when he and even his opponent just clash into each other and someone comes out the victor. The Wasurete fellow is the opposite. Genjutsu users are boring as hell in Kouki’s mind, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous. The yellow genin knew he had nothing in his arsenal to combat illusions…an example being the ringing in his ears that just won’t stop. This was a good reminder to attempt to learn Kai later down the road. He felt pathetic. Here he was cowering behind a rock while that short, cocky turd is probably feeling pretty sure of himself. As those thoughts began to whirl inside himself, he thought he could hear a faint chuckle coming from somewhere. A chuckle that was somehow going through the ringing in Kouki’s ears.

"You’re pathetic…you know that right? Could uh beat the hell out of that little tyke but instead you’re in uh little corner whimpering like uh baby. I know that’s what you’re thinking. I can’t read minds but I can read you like uh book.” The biju’s words cut like daggers and the whole scenario was starting to feel jarring to Kouki. What was this beast’s deal? He’s just fighting in a match. Albeit Kouki was a little worse for wear in the moment, the genin couldn’t understand why this was the time the demon inside decided to rear its ugly head. Kouki was too annoyed by his situation to really be fearful of the biju. "Oh what GREAT wisdom you have imparted upon me…anything else? Or are you just around to see me lose?” This conversation was all happening within the boy’s mind…his mindscape to be more specific. Kouki found himself at the entrance of the great castle he has seen in his dreams, but he has still never set foot in it. Luckily, the monster was plenty loud enough. "Just melt the brat. We both know you can’t do this with your fists alone.” The low growling voice was dismissive as if the answer was so clear that the biju was annoyed Kouki didn’t think of it sooner. "I don’t. Need. Your. Help.” Kouki stared down the almost endless darkness coming from the entrance. Suddenly the loudest of guffaws barreled out of the doorways. It was like a strong wind pushing Kouki back slightly. A slight pause of silence happened afterwards, and Kouki was still reeling from the volume of it. "….Don’t kid yourself, Boy.” The monster said plainly. "You’re nothing without me, so just go kick the twerp’s ass already.” The boy’s face grew hotter. "You know what?! FINE. But NOT because you told me to!!” "Heh…whatever kid…..”

The vision of the castle faded as Kouki was brought back to the real world. The sound of the ringing never actually leaving his ears the whole time. The boy gritted his teeth, the idea that the biju was right was slinking into his mind. The yellow-haired boy very slowly peered out his head from the side of the rock. He made sure to only let his nose and right eye make an appearance so as to try and hide his location. Kouki caught a glimpse of Wasurete’s legs on the center boulder of the arena. The moment he saw the other boy’s legs he retracted his head. He took a quick, deep breath.
"Genjutsu…can I even look at the brat then??” Kouki weaved the handseals he needed. He felt the hot chakra form within his gullet. As it built up he closed his eyes. With that done, he turned towards the center of the arena and made a slight jump and propped himself on the top of the rock using his elbows whilst holding the last handseal. Making sure to mold enough chakra, Kouki expels 4 lava globs from his mouth. The first was centered, the second went slight to the right, the third went slightly to the left, and the fourth was back at center but behind the first. The globs soared over to Wasurete in a diamond-like pattern. With Kouki’s eyes closed, there was no way to ensure the accuracy of the globs and if they would hit Wasu, but the biggest point of these globs was to throw the genjutsu user off sense he had never seen Kouki use his ninjutsu before. With four heading his enemy’s way, one was sure to at least hit the rock and melt it down, and the other three could merely splatter onto the battlefield to reduce his enemy’s area to move in. It was time to put Wasurete in a corner.

WASURETE
Wasurete stood in wait for what moments he could. This was already getting tedious. The constant drain of keeping this ringing up was eating away at his chakra. He could keep going for awhile, but if he drained all his chakra, he wasn't sure how much he'd have recovered for his next fight. And keeping energy up for those Uchiha was important. He could make a pretty penny off of those eyes of theirs. This kid had just shown himself to be some blonde idiot, ramming himself into things needlessly. He had already been caught by Wasurete's explosions, and those had been tossing this kid around like he was a rag doll. It would have been funny if this hadn't been going on for too long.

That's when things finally seemed to get interesting. The kid hopped on the boulder, Wasurete groaned as he saw him with his eyes shut tight. Smartest thing the kid had done yet, Wasurete let his hands fall, his trap still set with explosives if the idiot ran at him. Wasurete did smile however, if his eyes were closed, and his ears were ringing, he wouldn't be able to know when Wasurete was coming towards him. The smartest thing this kid had done may have been his stupidest after all.

Wasu contemplated his plan of attack. Should I use that jutsu? he contemplated for a few moments before shaking his head. He had to save it. If those damn Uchiha saw it now, they could prepare for it, and he didn't need them doing that.

Things changed quickly though. The moment that Wasurete saw three balls of Lava forming around his deaf opponent. Wasurete rolled forward off the rock quickly, and smirked. Those explosive tags were still attached to Senbon after all. He ripped the first one off the ground and kept forward, happy to be, presumably underneath those globes of lava. If the direction of that Lava didn't change too much, he'd be smooth sailing, but he kept an eye on them just in case. He kept his momentum straight towards his target. His first move was that when Wasurete was about 3/4 of the way to the target, he went to send that Explosive tag straight into the blonde idiot. He knew that he had survived some of these explosions already, but he hoped a point blank explosion could finally get the job done.
HOLD ME CLOSE. DON'T LET GO.

WASURETE
Wasurete had gotten lucky with the balls of Lava. He hadn't seen the fourth one hiding behind the first, and was just lucky in the fact that he had been low enough to the ground that he was able to avoid all four of the balls of lava. The fact that there was this intense lava was certainly making things far more fascinating for Wasurete, as it meant that he had the opportunity to finish the attack he wanted, and send a massive explosive right into his opponent. The explosion singing through the arena as Wasurete let his smirk spread across his face. The injuries that his opponent was facing at this point had to be intense.

Wasurete knew that the pain could theoretically have been enough to break the genjutsu, and even if it wasn't, Wasurete was prepared for the scenario in which it did. An explosion sending his opponent once again crashing into the walls of the arena, and Wasurete snaking around the boulder, this time not giving his opponent the chance to recover. Wasurete locked onto his opponent, and his mind was too far gone to console. His thoughts from before vanished as he desired blood. He snaked a kunai out of his gear, eyes locked onto the prone opponent the entire time, his body likely still racked by the multiple explosions he had only recently recovered from.

This was no longer play time for Wasurete, he was no longer in the mood to keep his bloodlust in check. His one eye was filled with this intense bloodlust, and the energy of it would have been palpable to anyone watching him. He was going straight in on his opponent at this point, driving the kunai into  his opponent's chest if it was visible, but regardless, going for a major part of his torso.
HOLD ME CLOSE. DON'T LET GO.

Closing his eyes was a double edged sword. On one hand he reduced the risk of a visual trigger. On the other hand, he didn’t see the paper bomb whizzing past his head. Just as Kouki was dropping down from the rock and opening his eyes…it was too late. The blast slammed him chest first into the boulder and obliterated his jacket and torso giving him 3rd degree burns in the process. Kouki dropped to the ground. He couldn’t tell if the ringing in his ear was from the genjutsu or now the recent explosion. There wasn’t any time to think about that. As he was trying to recenter himself he could only make out the outline of what was most likely Wasurete. Slumped with his back against the boulder he was feeling a strange kind of numb all around his body as he could feel himself slipping into unconsciousness. He meekly put his arms forward in self-defense, but the kunai his enemy had drove itself right under the bottom left of his ribcage. Suddenly the numbness was replaced with a white hot pain in his chest as the boy reflexively grabbed hold of the very arm he was stabbed with. Eyes widened, Kouki glanced at the bloodthirsty eye of Wasurete and then let his head drift down to the scene of a kunai plunged into his body with his hands around the arm that did it. A small dribble of blood came out of the poor genin’s mouth.

Suddenly it was as if his vision was zooming out with darkness replacing the corners until there was nothing left, and just as it turned black, his vision somehow returned zooming back in just as fast but now he was seeing the entrance to his mindscape yet again.
"I told you.” The low voice bellowed, "You were never going to win on your own. Come…let me out…let me…help you…” There was an almost decadent sweetness to the tone that had Kouki intoxicated with the thought of power. His pace was slow but it was as if he was going at a lightning pace through the torch lit tunnel of this mountain castle until he was within a large chamber. Unlike the tunnel, the only thing lighting the large dome like room was the lava bubbling underneath the cavernous drop in the center. Kouki peered his eyes forward to see the silhouette of a monstrous entity. He could barely make out what was there due to the dim lighting only coming from the ground…but it was big. It seemed somewhat humanoid with four tail like appendages swinging around. Was it…bound up? There was no ladder or bridge that could get Kouki over to this thing. There was only a simple post in front of him with the depiction of a seal that was oddly familiar. "Is this…?” "Yes…the seal that binds me here. Just press your hand upon it to make the bridge you need to reach me dear Kouki.” The sweet tones of the beast were jarring compared to the typical boisterous and load ramblings Kouki was used to hearing. The biju was up to something, but Kouki didn’t really seem to care. The biju had a solution after all. Just press the seal and he will have the power to kill Wasurete. Kouki extended his hand but flinched while he was only inches away. "Do-…do I really want to kill him?? I just want to beat him in a fight…I’m not some killer!” The biju smirked in the shadows. "Poor boy…you’re in no position to simply defeat your enemy. If you do not kill him…you die instead.” The next few words chilled Kouki to the core. "You don’t want to die…do you, Kouki?” The boy wimpered at the thought of his life ending right here and a bead of sweat formed and fell off of his face. He was trembling like a leaf. With his head forlornly drooped, he inched closer to allow his palm to make contact with the seal. A low rumble rippled throughout the building as the lava rose ever so slightly and bubbled with more ferocity as if it was dancing with joy at what was about to happen. A large and long piece of stone arose from the lava to bridge the gap between Kouki and the monster. Everything went numb around Kouki. His head still drooped and his arm still extended and placed on the seal, he seemed like a mannequin with his eyes glazed over. A loud jingling of chains occurred as the monster’s right arm was freed from the large prison cuff that was wrapped around its wrist. It slithered out of the cage and onto the bridge that was newly formed. With a strange and almost lifelike movement, the cuff lunged at Kouki’s right arm and snapped around his wrist, magically shrinking to fit the boy’s much smaller arm. Ever so slowly, the chain retracted and was pulling Kouki towards the cage. "It begins.” The beast uttered a happy growl with a toothy grin.

Back in reality, Wasurete would most likely come to realize that the grip Kouki had on him was not loosening…but tightening as if an anaconda was wrapping around the waterfall genin’s wrist. He would also probably notice his snow shinobi enemy was beginning to have a strange orange cloak surround the suspected-to-be unconscious Kouki. Kouki would begin to mutter a few words that were indiscriminately quiet even though he and Wasurete were so close. The words would become louder as the bubbled out in a low growl through the blood in his mouth. "
K-..ki-…kill…Wasur…te…Kill…Was…surete…” As he was muttering, a tail-like appendage began to sprout out of the back of Kouki along with the boy’s lemon blonde hair shifting into a deep shade of red. The boys face shot back up and was staring Wasurete right back at him with two glowing, orange eyes as well as what appeared to be Kouki’s canine teeth having become virtually tusks. The snow genin roared, "KILL WASURETE!!!!!!” With that deafening roar it would become apparent to anyone who knows what a Jinchuriki is that Kouki…was indeed one as well. Both of Kouki’s hands began to tighten even harder around Wasurete’s wrist to a point where it would most likely break it. Kouki shot up in a standing position and proceeded to attempt to toss the other boy with all his might into the wall of the arena…screeching as he did. The sheer volume of Kouki’s yelling was sending air currents rippling around the arena creating gusts of wind. If the flinging of his enemy was successful, Kouki would go into a gorilla like stance and pant heavily awaiting to see what became of Wasurete as the supposed dust would clear. If he would see the boy or anyone else alive and kicking where Wasurete would have been, he would most likely roar and charge in for another assault. If only someone could stop this tirade before it was too late for either of the genin.

Chakra Shroud [1 Tail]

Version 1: The viscous shroud begins to bubble more as the first tail starts to form behind him. The most inner ring of the seal begins to glow orange to signify the Yonbi is breaking through the first barrier. By this point Kouki may as well be considered dead with the only chance of survival being if he is subdued very early on after the first tail forms. He takes on more of a physical change as his hair begins to turn orange and almost on the way to red. His eyebrows become very thick and the tips at the ends point upwards. His skin starts to become red as if he was sunburnt due to the heat emanating from the chakra shroud. His nails elongate about an inch and become like talons. He becomes physically stronger and has the strength to punch a deep indent into a tree (about the strength of a Taijutsu Primary Chuunin). He still keeps to his linear dashing but now includes headbutts into the mix.

Sword of Fortune
Jun Etsuko Avatar
groupWaterfall Shinobi
age 25 years old birthday 5/25 rank Jounin occupation

Etsuko had been watching the event with relative disinterest. Her purpose in the stands was merely to 'cheer' for her genin. She obviously wasn't the cheering type and merely observed their performance. They felt ready for this event, so she'd do her best to trust their judgement. People didn't learn or grow from being caged up and chained down, so she'd accept their desire to risk it for the chocolate biscuit. The fight between Wasurete and Kouki would be nothing but a treat, it'd appear as though her students tactics were working.

Granted things took a rather flawless turn for her students favor, as actions chained and it'd seem her student was attempting to land a good possibly killing blow. The end goal made sense to Etsuko based upon her interactions with the Shisen so far. It was kind of their clans deal after all, but usually it was a factor of annoyance more than pride. The Jinchuuriki had a moral compass strapped with magnets though, so this situation made his prime directive a logical direction to her. If he could deliver the killing blow, then points wouldn't matter. These two nations weren't animus though, so this might of been a rather dark act.

It'd work, but then it didn't kill the Yuki Jinchuuriki. Etsuko would catch sight of the cloak beginning to form, it'd pose no level of distraction. She didn't need to question what she saw, it'd be basic knowledge to her and something she'd more than mastered. It was a shroud of a single tail, so Etsuko couldn't quite discern it's bijuu number. Matatabi would recognize the tusks which formed though, "So this is Son's cell..." Usually the jounin paid close attention to anything her bijuu had to say, but this instance her pride as a teacher and concern as team leader for Wasurete's life would kick into play.

Activating her fastest wind release state Etsuko would vanish from the stands in a violent wisp of air. Thankfully Kouki wouldn't immediately take advantage of the locked into place position. As he'd attempt to use this new strength to merely toss her student at mock force against a wall. He could possibly survive the crash, but the jounin wasn't going to risk it. Especially as their was a chance the earlier grip had crushed the one eyed boys arms. Reappearing right in the path of the Wasurete projectile Etsuko would catch the male.

Her wind cloak which speed her up would create an initial cushion to slow the speed the Shisen was traveling, as to give time to line her body up with the males. As gently as possible pulling the student into her chest and wrapping both arms around him to guarantee a flawless catch. Her wind chakra projecting to further alleviate the momentum of the genjutsu specialist. However as her feet would come to touch the ground skidding her to a stop, the wind which rushed around her would disperse igniting in a flicker of flames as it did.

Matatabi's chakra releasing less like a shroud and more like a purge of hissing chakra. The fire spreading across the dispersing wind would shape into the face of nibi, as it'd seemingly let out a chakra howl before dispersing itself. The look shown in the visage would be shared by the kunoichi holding her student, as her chakra kicked all dust and smoke away from her. The hair on her head which naturally bent to look almost cat like would be standing up now more or less. A very clear appearance of a defensive feline. It'd be a reminder and open threat too, so that no rival villages attempted to enter the arena and thus ensuing chaos.
