He held the point to her chest for quite a while, the fire disappearing and soon enough the stinging on his face was a bit too much so he lost focus. This allowed the girl to retreat, he got down on a single knee, not thinking she would be returning immediately after a vital point was hit. It took her a while to regain her head too, instead Toru would pick up snow and water and press it against his cheeks and neck to cool down what was painful. After that he would look over his outfit, patting out any parts that had embers before he started to wander.

She had not returned, which was a curious thing. He must have injured her well, so it was her heart that was weak. Good thing he had a sword. The majority of their last encounter was in the smoke and behind a boulder, so it was unlikely that the audience had seen much of their fight...Or the whole world now knew her weakness was her heart. The majority of their fight had occurred in the cover of soot, ash and debris... He didn't even need to summon the mist this time a great deal of what he did was hidden regardless, or simply not utilized. Good, he didn't want everyone to know everything he was capable of.

After some wandering - not very long at all since she had gone behind the boulder and buried not far from there - he would find an awkward mound, he raised an eyebrow.

It wasn't moving, but there was a hole nearby, trap or not it seemed to be snuggled inside. Toru decided to take a risk, one more final blow or at least try... He'd stab his sword directly into the mound in the dirt and snow.

If it received absolutely no reaction, then he would likely pull his sword out and jump back to avoid a potential trap... Though he'd also use a kunai with an explosive tag to see if something a little bit more concussive could do the work, once again he would disappear behind the boulder he had been using to avoid the blast itself.

Toru had a great deal of knowledge when it comes to weaponry, but his love lies in swords. As a genin his skill and movement with a sword is unparalleled and akin to a prodigy. The sword is just an extension of his body and who he is. When a blade is in his hands he strikes his enemies down quickly and doesn't seem to hesitate when he does so. The form of his body is that of someone who has trained in the art for quite some time, and it is no surprise when he is able to go toe-to-toe with chuunin have never swung a sword.

Speed Like Wind
Toru uses his lithe frame to move around quickly and his training with kenjutsu combined with his desire to be faster has brought to the point that he is at today. In top physical form, he is much faster than not only the average genin but can parallel the speeds of chuunin going at their very quickest - this is generally only true of those have not trained and honed the skills that he has. In more plain terms, Toru can match the speeds of genin who are bukijutsu and taijutsu primary specialists and easily outrun and untrained chuunin.

Lightning Reflex
Toru has impeccable control over his body and muscles, to the point that he appears as if he might be dancing around his opponents with mockery. Not only quick on his feet, he seems to have the reflexes to go along with his speed. It takes a similarly lithe and feline-like opponent to land a proper hit on the small boy. A chuunin with similar speed and reflexes - and proper training - can tire Toru out properly enough to do so, or perhaps a genin although it may take longer. Toru is an almost slimy opponent and is difficult to pin down.

Enhanced Chakra Reserves
Gifted with a larger than normal chakra pool, Toru can easily utilize a series of jutsu without tiring out as quickly as others. Stronger and higher ranked jutsu don't drain him quite as easily and anything with a continuous drain seems to last longer as well.

You know what your problem is, you care too damn much about your pride when you should be worried about survival. It'd be a hell a lot better than working together. WASN'T THAT YOUR IDE- The argument had been going on for quite a while but immediately came to a stop after the crunch of snow intensified with each step, stopping just beside the mound. Silence had fallen in the crevice of her mind, a fear unlike any other consumed the thoughts of the girl, and for a second, they plagued and danced around her; the next, a sharp pain quite similar to what she felt earlier pang through her small body.

In full shock, the threads shot out of the snow and reconstructed Kunikunosaku's body as is. It appeared as if the sword Toru had cut clean through the girl's stomach. A second felt like an eternity and that is what it felt like to the girl. If the metal blade moved even an inch, both Jiongu and the pain would cry out another set of heart breaking words. "I give! I forfeit! He won!" The Taki shinobi fell backwards, if it could cry tears, it would; instead, the girl rolled to her side and sobbed through the pain, through the loss. Such a strong being broke in anger and sadness, "YOU HEAR ME! I GIVE UP, GO AWAY TO YOUR FUCKING SHITHOLE OF A LIFE!" The girl shouted as the sobs came out in full. The weight of the world on her shoulder's came crashing down and the same thoughts came back, and anger swelled in her mind. Not only did her teammate get disqualified, the girl failed again to live up to any expectations set on herself by herself or others.

She continued in her grief regardless of the world around her. Her attention turning to Jiongu as she spoke once more, holding back tear-less sobs.

"Just let me die."

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Toru pulled the blade out when the girl fell backwards, he too stumbling a bit. Just barely catching himself. What was she? It was such an oddity. Was she even a human being? She was crying, but there were no tears, though she was clearly upset. She shouted her forfeit and Toru sheathed his sword, he really needed medical help.

"Get up..." He grumbled, not wanting to show a great amount of favor towards the girl. But, he also didn't like the emotional explosion she was displaying, emotion wasn't exactly the most near and dear concept to Toru who preferred to lock his feelings away. Now that the supposed danger had passed Toru let out a trembling exhale that he had been holding steady, and turned to walk away. There was a bit of a limp to his walk, his face was quite red, and now more than ever he could feel burns where he had not felt before from the fire. Medical attention, now.

Toru moved towards the bunker, walking through the archway and indoors where he would hopefully get immediate care whilst the next few fights would occur, Toru would watch after his face was properly cared for, along with his leg and a few other noticeable burns. Cared for early on there would be minimal to no scarring and there were jutsu for scars too.

He didn't know what kind of care the girl would get, but he didn't know if she required any care at all.
