Fucking damn it! Kunikunosaku thought back at her room. It was an embarrassment. The Taki Genin made a mockery of herself while her teammate went to get disqualified. Leaving her to redeem not only herself after that defeat but redeeming her village's reputation after Wasurete's fuck up. Again, after getting her frustration out and leaving the room, Kunikunosaku made her way back to the bunker where they had gathered at previously. Unlike the day before, the participants were shuffled differently. This time, it was easy to get a faint idea who they'd face but once again, the question remains what. The girl had at least one idea, there was no more jins nor anymore Wasurete arrogance.

Again, it felt like awaiting a century but this time, the girl watched the fights more closely, both to pass the time and pick up various strategies. Not to apply to a singular target, but to apply to her style as a whole. Kunikunosaku's main goal was not just one of redemption nor of honor, this was her chance to prove herself a threat. If the first fight wasn't her chance, this next fight certainly will be, it had to be. The girl wasn't going out there to prove a show, she wasn't going out there to save Wasu's honor, and she sure as hell wasn't going to go out there to lose. The girl looked at her arm as the stitching into it came undone, letting the threads hollow out a section of her fore arm. Placing an explosive tag in her arm and watching as the threads stitched perfectly back together. The girl heard her name called and stood up, clenching her right fist as she feigned sighing.

Walking out the designated doors, the girl was still shocked how they unchanged the set up of the arena. Well, tactile strategies will remain... not regular shinobi conflict but whatever. Kuni thought as she made her way into the arena. Within decent eyesight, the girl bowed, making the seal of confrontation before clenching her fists. No words needed to be said, they both knew why they were here and here wasn't meant for formalities and even what she gave was more than enough.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

The second rounds, he was irate and disappointed in the way that he had performed in the last round. Though, he was unsure how the judges ultimately had decided who had won and who had lost. After all, the two of them had barely landed any hits on each other. Minako was probably disappointed, the only person that he had ever sought to impress probably regretted taking him under her wing, passing on her name to him. He berated himself for the rest of the first round, sitting there and soaking in the rest of the battles in abject silence. Eventually, he turned to severely focusing on the task at hand...

In the end, he was the only one of the Kirigakure attendees to have lost his battle. He found it unacceptable. So when his name was announced against Kunikunosaku for the second round, he stood to go.

Toru knew that his battle had been mostly a secret, whilst hers had been quite out in the open. She would know nothing about his fighting style, while he knew enough about hers. She appeared to be invincible, or had an extremely high tolerance for pain... She also could detach her limbs and throw them around freely, so he had to watch out for those. He was unsure of what it was... He also knew, that he wouldn't be making any silly mistakes like staring directly at the girl, he did that last time, no more genjutsu triggers. At least not ones he could see, so when they stepped out onto the field he glanced down to Kuni's feet, a hand to the hilt of his sword as they were told to begin. Of course he had no idea if she had any genjutsu, but he wasn't going to even risk it. Not worth it... He lowered his stance a bit, as he prepared for the beginning of their match.

Toru had a great deal of knowledge when it comes to weaponry, but his love lies in swords. As a genin his skill and movement with a sword is unparalleled and akin to a prodigy. The sword is just an extension of his body and who he is. When a blade is in his hands he strikes his enemies down quickly and doesn't seem to hesitate when he does so. The form of his body is that of someone who has trained in the art for quite some time, and it is no surprise when he is able to go toe-to-toe with chuunin have never swung a sword.

Speed Like Wind
Toru uses his lithe frame to move around quickly and his training with kenjutsu combined with his desire to be faster has brought to the point that he is at today. In top physical form, he is much faster than not only the average genin but can parallel the speeds of chuunin going at their very quickest - this is generally only true of those have not trained and honed the skills that he has. In more plain terms, Toru can match the speeds of genin who are bukijutsu and taijutsu primary specialists and easily outrun and untrained chuunin.

Lightning Reflex
Toru has impeccable control over his body and muscles, to the point that he appears as if he might be dancing around his opponents with mockery. Not only quick on his feet, he seems to have the reflexes to go along with his speed. It takes a similarly lithe and feline-like opponent to land a proper hit on the small boy. A chuunin with similar speed and reflexes - and proper training - can tire Toru out properly enough to do so, or perhaps a genin although it may take longer. Toru is an almost slimy opponent and is difficult to pin down.

Enhanced Chakra Reserves
Gifted with a larger than normal chakra pool, Toru can easily utilize a series of jutsu without tiring out as quickly as others. Stronger and higher ranked jutsu don't drain him quite as easily and anything with a continuous drain seems to last longer as well.

It seemed as if her opponent was raring to go, and the girl wasn't gonna disappoint. Not again. Willing the threads to move the heart near the center of her core, a maneuver tried and true as she did the quickest set of handseals, feigning an actual attack as she clicked her foot to the ground, establishing the link. Grabbing a kunai from her pouch and held it her right arm, she clenched he left fist tightly as the threads pushed the hidden tag to the inner workings of her fist. Dodge this, white-haired bitch. Kunikunosaku thought, hypocritically considering. Kunikunosaku had one goal, that was win, and if this was any consolation, she had multiple strategies to achieve this, first, she needed to get as close as possible for, unfortunately, all of them.

Readying herself with the Kunai in hand, she grabbed out a shuriken to whip as hard as the girl can straight at her opponent, once that was airborne, she'd follow in suit. Moving as fast as she could, when she got close enough, Kuni would attempt to stab the side of the boy's head. A rather simple strategy with a simple goal. The only thing she again miscalculated was the distance or was she betting on it. It was time to stop thinking as a regular Kunoichi and start thinking like a monster she truly was. Kunikunosaku needed to break her limits to break her opponent. And the girl was more than happy to oblige, she needed to win, that was all.

And that is what Kuni set out to do.

Toru noted the movement of the girl's hand to a pouch, not wasting time to throw a weapon. Toru would draw his sword to bring it up against the incoming shuriken. But, Kuni was following straight after with a kunai strike towards his head, if they were going to play the game of stabbing each other's heads Toru would join her. Or at least, attempt to do so. He would step to the side, focusing on moving his head out of the way, albeit the kunai in the girl's hand still sliced into the edge of his ear and his hair. His reflexes just barely saving him.

All in one fluid movement he would lean forward and move his sword in a blur up and across, intending to have it run across her neck to completely cut her head off of her shoulders the move capable of deflecting opponents in small windows in which one could react he hoped that the swiftness and power of it would be enough to cut into the girl's flesh... Though he didn't know how handy that would be considering what he had witnessed during her battle with Issei. It would likely require more.

Either way, the attack would put slightly past her body, his back facing her back their shoulders slightly displaced. But he wouldn't necessarily stand there and wait to see what happened next, instead, he let out a shrill whistle for if his attack did not land he had to follow up.

The whistle, would or should put her under a genjutsu that would cause disorientation... Toru had learned that he needed to overwhelm his opponent from Issei, so that's what he did. If her head was not rolling, then he hoped the whistle would have her on the ground trying to get up, dizzy and uncoordinated - he would maintain it as long as possible. So that he could turn around and begin to deliver several stabs with the tip of his sword across her torso, and her head, deliberately towards vital spots - such as her stomach, solar plexus, the heart, eyes, nose, clavicle. She was resilient, after all, he was going to do his best to bring her to her knees. Though he continued to hold his gaze directly where he was stabbing, continuing to avoid as was his previous plan of getting caught in another genjutsu... Ever again. He probably would have benefitted from being deaf too in this instance, but that was not an option.

He let her come in and close the distance, most likely a close range fighter as well. It was almost a perfect attempt that didn't even need her back up plan, but as she swung her Kunai and it nicked only the boy's ear and hair, Kuni mentally sighed as she tried her best to guess when was the perfect time. Threads sent something akin to a chill when it appeared the Mist boy reached the apex of his dodge, Kuni's prepared jutsu activated and she dodged a terrifying strike before it successfully hit her. Having just attacked out of a dodge, the Toru boy was open for a left handed uppercut, sending him even higher when Kuni activated her Long Limb technique to not only force but hold him even higher. In truth, she didn't allow them to go too high, she didn't want the boy to recover from the uppercut. She held up a seal followed by the word, "Kai." If her plan work, Toru would be in the blast zone of the explosive tag hidden in her hand, quite literally, blowing her arm off in the process.

How much damage the boy would receive, Kunikunosaku had no clue, but if it obliterated her arm. It was probably a nasty injury. Kunikunosaku pulled the stud back as threads rushed to create a new arm, Kuni would watch for a crashing body and exactly when she heard a thud, the girl would raise a seal and her body would be consumed in flames before vanishing like it instantly burned up. As soon as the girl appeared next to the source of the sound, she'd weave 3 seals before slamming the ground, hopefully pining a body to the ground. Once that was done, Kunikunosaku turned to look at what she pinned to the ground.

What to do next, what to do next? The girl would think regardless of what she caught.

DESCRIPTION:

Using the fact that their body is little more than a mass of jiongu threads to their advantage, the user will quickly escape out of the path of a incoming attack by by pushing out through their feet or any body part that is in contact with the ground, the tendrils burrowing into the ground as they make their escape with them reappearing a short distance away. Much like the replacement technique, the user must prep themselves to burrow away a post ahead of time.

DESCRIPTION:
By utilizing their kinjutsu, the user will extend on of their limbs. They can then direct the limbs to attack opponents with the maximum length of the limbs being 35 meters. Along with lengthening the limbs themselves the user can move a mass of tendrils and a heart with them into the limb, allowing it to act independently from the main body.

NAME: Karada Hi no Jutsu [Body Flame Technique]

DESCRIPTION:
A technique used similar to the Body Flicker Technique. When using this technique, the body appears like it's being engulfed by flames, disappearing from view slowly. How the flames engulf the user stylistically is up to them.

NAME: Kinbaku [Bind Tightly]

CLASSIFICATION: Fūinjutsu

DESCRIPTION:
After three hand-seals, the user will slap both hands on the ground and summon an intricate spherical seal on the ground, ten meters in diameter, with the user at the epicenter. Anyone or anything standing on the ground within ten meters is then sealed to the ground itself, locking their feet in place. They will be stuck in place until the seal is broken, which can be achieved by destroying the ground it is summoned on. People who were not inside the range can move over the surface of the seal once it's been summoned without any issue.

Toru was admittedly starting to question his own sword skills with how often his techniques were being dodged. Maybe, it was time to ask Minako about it when he got home? Either way, he didn't miss the fact that the girl was disappearing and re-appearing just ahead of him and her flying limb wasn't missed either. The flying limb was hard to miss, most flying limbs were hard to miss. But this one was going straight for him.

He braced his leg muscles, tensing to jump, jumping back so that he could create distance while he threw a kunai with an explosive tag attached to it. He waited when the arm and kunai crossed paths - whether directly or indirectly - before detonating the tag. Though he was moving out of radius as he was doing this some of the aftershocks would inevitably send him back against the arena wall. Hopefully, this would blow up the arm, although it would likely also set off the hidden explosive in the flying arm as well, causing double the damage and double the crater size.

No genjutsu follow through here, just Toru moving quickly off towards his left Kuni's right, around the wall after his back met it, using the guise of the explosion to move while Kuni stood and waited for a body. If she was still in place he would send another kunai with a tag her way, he could smother her body with an explosion, though his aim was to not give her breathing space to recover the left arm she had sent out, and instead blow off her right arm as well.
Of course, if she wasn't there that would be a whole other story, he would obviously not throw a kunai and explosion tag at nothing.

In more plain terms, Toru can match the speeds of genin who are bukijutsu and taijutsu primary specialists and easily outrun and untrained chuunin.

Toru has impeccable control over his body and muscles, to the point that he appears as if he might be dancing around his opponents with mockery. Not only quick on his feet, he seems to have the reflexes to go along with his speed. It takes a similarly lithe and feline-like opponent to land a proper hit on the small boy. A chuunin with similar speed and reflexes - and proper training - can tire Toru out properly enough to do so, or perhaps a genin although it may take longer. Toru is an almost slimy opponent and is difficult to pin down.

Enhanced Chakra Reserves
Gifted with a larger than normal chakra pool, Toru can easily utilize a series of jutsu without tiring out as quickly as others. Stronger and higher ranked jutsu don't drain him quite as easily and anything with a continuous drain seems to last longer as well.

The girl was not expecting the boy retaliating with his own attack, this came with his own explosion as well, knocking her back rapidly, causing burn damages all over. The girl quite frankly was shocked and weaved two hand seals before shooting a large cloud of smoke and ash, the plan backfired when the explosion happened in such close proximity and at double the size, hiding in the field of smoke and ash, she hoped the explosion damaged him far worse than what she had to repair. Threads moved over one another and repaired both her arm and body, taking this advantage to think of her next plan of action. Kunikunosaku stood straight up as threads reached out her, creating a clone of threads. The threads finished and Kunikunosaku placed a tag on the back of the clone, hidden underneath the created skin.

Right now, Kunikunosaku had to end this battle right now, she was already tired of this boy avoiding his fate. Kunikunosaku looked around, trying to determine where the boy was right now, the blast disoriented it even more than the girl had previously thought as she tried to guess where the boy was, the problem with a smoke cloud, despite him not being able to see in, Kunikunosaku couldn't see out. While the original tried to feel her way to hide behind a rock, the clone looked around. Once the girl found her destination after a painstaking 30 seconds, she hid as well as she could before forcing the Hiding in Dust and Ash jutsu to cancel. "Enough games, show me your true swordsmanship!"

The clone would yell as the smoke lifted and dispersed, knowing full well this might be the worst idea in its arsenal.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

DESCRIPTION:
By expelling some of her their threads a user will create a rough clone of themselves. They have a lifespan of roughly three posts, and can be made in fairly large numbers. Along with being able to be made in large numbers, the clones are able to use their threads to wrap and skewer opponents before they dissipate. Like many elemental clones they are unable to use anything bar Taijutsu. When the clones either dissipate or are destroyed any surviving threads will attempt to return to the user.

The explosion set off, Toru moved near the wall, the second kunai and explosion tag held steadfast in his free hand as he whipped around a nearby boulder so that she could not see him even if she tried. He nibbled on his lower lip, tasting blood. Probably from one of the many cuts on his face that he could barely feel stinging - no doubt from the adrenaline - his face after the doubled up explosion. He wasn't totally caught in the blast, but the debris and aftershock did a good number as far as cutting into both his outfit and into uncovered skin. He'd live with the cuts though.

There was a lot of smoke and ash, and as he watched on it seemed to double almost suspiciously. Toru remembered the fight with Issei, he wasn't totally convinced that she was defeated. Issei had waited, and rightfully so, a normal person caught in the heart of or even in the proper radius of one of these blasts would have had a very hard time continuing. But she did not, so Toru took to his plan of overwhelming. He didn't know she was making a clone, but he would likely interrupt the process as he made his decision to continue the onslaught of destroying the arena.

Dead. Badly wounded. Making a clone. Didn't matter, Toru would whip his hand around the boulder and threw the kunai with the explosion tag into the heart of all the smoke and ash. She would see it, likely just as it was coming upon her, Toru had no way to time it other than to guess based on what he could see how large the plume of smoke, ash and debris was... So he would guess, and he would detonate while she created her clone, hopefully before she was properly out of the way. This time putting her in the middle of an explosion instead of within radius alongside her arm. This time Toru would use the boulder to keep himself safe from the initial impact and then following aftershocks of the explosion.

He could not wait, he had to keep the pressure on.

Kuni didn't realize till it was too late, only having just finished making the clone, the two were bombarded by a rogue Kunai and explosion, while the clone was positioned between herself and the explosion; the force still knocked Kunikunosaku back, quickly destroying her clone as the smoke dispersed. The girl absorbed the other threads and reinforced them around her heart, once again shifting its position prior to getting back up. Kunikunosaku stared at the direction the blast came from before dashing as fast as her legs could carry her, the rocks made her unsteady, there could be any sorts of traps, she didn't know which rock the punk-ass kid was hiding behind. All she knew was she couldn't go searching every crevice. Taking out 4 flash bomb, Kunikunosaku mentally noted the arch and what type of throw was needed to gain the results she wanted. Kuni whipped her body clockwise, lobbing each bomb to hopefully reach behind each rock, dispersing and blinding whoever was trying to hide wherever they are.

Kunikunosaku watched for a reaction, hopefully it would draw the boy out, at least get him to look at her. The very instant she thought she saw the boy come out, Kuni threw her hand up as if to choke the opponent. Whether it hit or not, the girl would dash to the sight of movement, hopefully coming upon a choking boy. If not, she just wasted a good amount of time. Regardless, a game of cat & mouse right now seemed difficult and a headache when all the girl wanted was to fight and pass.

Furthermore, while it doesn't always happen, at times the target(s) are so panicked that in trying to grasp at the seemingly invisible hands they could potentially injure their selves in truth.

Explosion went off, the boulder protecting Toru from the kick back. The smoke and ash jutsu dissipated, Toru could vaguely see what was going on, Kuni was throwing a series of either smoke bombs or flash bombs all around. After seeing what was going on behind one of the rocks, it appeared to be flash bombs. Toru settled in, his eyes closing momentarily as the bomb flew in an arc and let off a bright light, he could see little bunnies... But it wasn't enough to get him out from behind the rock yet.

Instead, he would expel some water where he was, and throw down a smoke bomb. Revealing his position to Kuni. He would allow her to pursue him in this area, however if she were to run in or jump in, she'd likely find herself slipping and sliding without any footing upon the watery ground that he had just expelled. This would be hidden from the rest of the crowd for now, as he gripped his sword hard and prepared for what he hoped would be Kuni's graceless arrival.

If she did arrive whilst the smoke was in the air, he would attempt another one of his sword techniques at her head from out of nowhere while she was slipping and sliding on the water, or at least that was certainly preferred. If she waited too long and did not arrive immediately until the smoke was gone, she would find that the arena was filling up with mist again, and Toru would be totally gone from his revealed location. Though the effects of the treacherous water surface would be no less effective.

Well, at least it seemed like he was gone because if she did eventually come to his last known location he would appear slicing upwards, breaking his hiding in water as before in an attempt to behead her.

Though if she didn't show up at all, she'd be alone in the mist and Toru would remain hidden for the time being.

It was a god send that the boy seemingly revealed his location with smoke. So, the flash bomb trick didn't work?... Was, was he baiting me. Kunikunosaku walked slowly towards the smoke, a killer's intent with each and every step. Kunikunosaku willed her core to move slightly to the left of its natural position. The added defense hopefully kept it safe, especially since she was walking literally into a trap. As the girl boldly entered the smoke, it was revealed the ground was slippery as hell, Kuni found herself sliding all over the damn place before she would see the boy next, in a flash, he swung his sword at a movement she couldn't react to without a jutsu. One she was far too late at preparing. Her head falling clean off, slipping to its knees before sliding onto its chest, Kunikunosaku opened herself for another kill blow, but she wouldn't give him a chance, much like he didn't give her a chance. Without so much as half a second, Kunikunosaku's arm exploded, shooting tendrils in an attempt to grab/wrap him, using the smoke as much as a cover for her attack as it did for him.

Such a fine cut was no major injury to heal but the girl could definitely feel herself weaker, the process of unification was quick, the tendrils from her head and body reached together, at contact they would connect at frightening speed while simultaneously, the girl would pull Toru to the ground hard enough to hopefully trip him on his own jutsu. If the tendrils locked his arm, Kunikunosaku would slide and roll on the slippery floor, using her hold to pull him to sit on Toru. If things worked out great, the girl would begin using her EGF-enhanced strength and use her opposite arm to punch the boy's face, over and over, the strikes would come, almost feeling heavier with each strike. One rogue strike would go to crush his wind pipe, an attempt to keep him from screaming he'd forfeit, extra insurance called her to almost sprinkle her hand above his face, trickling ash and burning embers down his mouth, nose and eyes.

If by some miracle, he found a way to signal he forfeit before her attempting to prevent such a thing, she would stop as per fight rules. If not, she'd just keep striking heard, nicking his eyes, shattering his nose, dislocating his jaw, just keep going until the boy was too dazed or unconscious to do anything but lay there for minutes on end.

Toru was going to call these exams a time of firsts, he had never thought he would see someone being beheaded, their head rolling off of their shoulders and then them reconstructing that very head back onto their shoulders. It was so, disgusting - less frightening since he had seen decapitation and much worse before - that he unfortunately allowed it to get the best of him, momentarily. The hand of the body grabbed him, but this brought him back to the moment immediately. His reflex causing for his sword to activate immediately the insignia glowing blue as he braced against the body slipping and sliding towards him. The sword was quickly brought in a horizontal motion from its relaxed state to point forward, he almost moved into the uncoordinated body with a half lunge, but this was just to try and seal the deal.

Unlike before where he had been chopping away at her head hoping that this would be enough, he went for another vital spot, her chest, her heart which was arguably the easiest trajectory as well. If blowing her up, and attacking other vital parts of her body wasn't going to be enough, maybe this would be. Though he didn't really have his hopes up, the girl seemed truly impervious to everything in this instance.

Either way the sword came just as she came, to have her impale herself upon the sword, but if she decided to pull away it didn't matter because Toru's half lunge would extend his sword for ten feet to catch her like a shish kabob. And with how she was slipping and sliding he really hoped that this would be all he would have to do, to end the fight.

Toru had a great deal of knowledge when it comes to weaponry, but his love lies in swords. As a genin his skill and movement with a sword is unparalleled and akin to a prodigy. The sword is just an extension of his body and who he is. When a blade is in his hands he strikes his enemies down quickly and doesn't seem to hesitate when he does so. The form of his body is that of someone who has trained in the art for quite some time, and it is no surprise when he is able to go toe-to-toe with chuunin have never swung a sword.

Speed Like Wind
Toru uses his lithe frame to move around quickly and his training with kenjutsu combined with his desire to be faster has brought to the point that he is at today. In top physical form, he is much faster than not only the average genin but can parallel the speeds of chuunin going at their very quickest - this is generally only true of those have not trained and honed the skills that he has. In more plain terms, Toru can match the speeds of genin who are bukijutsu and taijutsu primary specialists and easily outrun and untrained chuunin.

Lightning Reflex
Toru has impeccable control over his body and muscles, to the point that he appears as if he might be dancing around his opponents with mockery. Not only quick on his feet, he seems to have the reflexes to go along with his speed. It takes a similarly lithe and feline-like opponent to land a proper hit on the small boy. A chuunin with similar speed and reflexes - and proper training - can tire Toru out properly enough to do so, or perhaps a genin although it may take longer. Toru is an almost slimy opponent and is difficult to pin down.

Enhanced Chakra Reserves
Gifted with a larger than normal chakra pool, Toru can easily utilize a series of jutsu without tiring out as quickly as others. Stronger and higher ranked jutsu don't drain him quite as easily and anything with a continuous drain seems to last longer as well.

He actually tried to strike back, fucking how. Dodge after dodge, no punk could dodge forever, and of course he went for another sword strike. If he behead her without so much as a wink, she was fearful of what he had in store behind that blade. Ashe began the movement, she prematurely separated her body in order to dodge what was coming at her. If she could in time to avoid what ever trick he had in store, as she pulled back together, she'd weave the handseals to fire a point blank fireball. Hopefully, the attack would not only injure him, but blow him back, stopping the jutsu, it would be then she used a Long Limb to grab his airborne leg to hopefully, whip him as far away as possible or even out of the arena if she was lucky.

If she was unable to dodge, she would simply lay there yelling in pain until the jutsu ended. Once relief came, she'd reach and crush a Smoke Bomb in her hand, releasing its contents at once before using her variant of body flicker to hide behind a rock out of view, turning into a serpent to bury itself in the snow, hopefully, she can just recuperate enough for her defense to restore. In dreaded pain from the nick to her heart, the serpent that is Kuni froze in fear.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. She disappeared in a poof of tendrils which was highly annoying and also vaguely gross, but his momentum already had started and while he was quick enough to stop himself, she had re-appeared directly in front of him so there was absolutely no point in stopping his trajectory. His lunge continued forward head-on just as she spewed forth a fireball. The extension of his blade was already in motion however, so the fireball and the water would collide dividing the fireball's trajectory and diluting it slightly, as a result Toru would be able to continue forward without being blown away completely, pushed back, yes, but not swept off his feet. His goal and trajectory was her chest, her heart and he was going to get to it. He wasn't sure if he was doing an adequate enough job of overwhelming her, but he had sliced her head off and she still continued to breathe, an abomination if one had to ask Toru so he sought to eliminate her.

The fireball's diluted path would still make its way to him though, heating up the metal of his sword, catching swatches of his outfit on fire, and burning parts of his face and neck. Fueled by adrenaline, he felt the pain, but didn't stray from his path, he could collapse and tend to his wounds later... It pushed him back but the trajectory of the water extending from his sword aiming to pierce her heart remained.

As far as he was concerned the girl was clearly trying to kill him - as per her attempts to stab him in the eyeball, and explosive tags - so he would not do any less. Despite the pain, as he grimaced at the parts of his body that had been burned by the fireball, he was lucky that his clothes took the brunt of what remained after his sword pierced the fiery technique. It also slightly helped that he was still standing on a swatch of water.

Kunikunosaku smiled as it appeared the fireball hit and did the damage, but something did't feel right as she could still see a faint silhouette. Fuck. Kuni suddenly felt her body pierced by the sword? A Juts- Kunikunosaku screamed in pain as the girl reached for a smoke bomb. Holding the bomb, Kuni was trapped in pain. Not sure when the jutsu would end, only that she had to get out of there now! The girl crushed the bomb, instantly releasing the contents of it as if another jutsu was fired. If reprieve came, if his jutsu saw an end Kunikunosaku would activate her variant of body flicker, getting the hell out of there. If successful, she would reappear, hidden behind a boulder, bending over and grabbing her chest in pain.

If Kunikunosaku could get away, she forced her threads to shift her make up, turning the girl into a serpent. Once the threads solidified, the serpent slithered into the snow, burying itself as deep as it can go. You can't beat him, you'll kill us, give up. No! I can't show my face back home until I comeback Chūnin. You won't make it if you die... THEN OBVIOUSLY I'M NOT READY! I won't bring shame to my home or my clan if I give it my all. I can't show my face to anyone. Better to show your face in defeat than not go home at all. The serpent froze in place hidden under the snow, allowing itself to recuperate and unfortunately allow her identities to argue.

This technique allows the user to become also fluid with their movements. Their skin and body structure becomes serpentine and detaches as they become almost a slithering mass of tendrils. This allows them to become flatter and more nimble. They are able to move as an otherworldly serpent-like creature. In this form, the user is able to move vertically along surfaces and swim quickly. As well, the user can separate their hearts from their body to cover more ground. While this technique enhances the user's stealth it does not prevent them from being detected from a keen eye or other types of tracking.
