A doorway slowly creaked open, and out stepped a brunette girl wearing a white garb with red accents, and black leggings. On her feet were fuzzy slippers, but she still carried the weapons of a warrior in her evening attire: bow hung to her back and a quiver of arrows fastened to her right hip.

Sayua had bags under her eyes. She had spent the entire day after forfeiting studying her next match up and looking over her notes again and again. In many ways, Zakku seemed to be more terrifying than Miho was, but Sayua had seen what she could do injured and if Jack-a-boy didn’t stand a chance she didn’t think she did either.

Nerves had gotten the best of her. She’d rather keep running scenarios through her head than try to sleep in this barracks that was barely warmer than the outside. Her defiance of sleep had come at the cost of extreme tiredness in the late evening, and she needed a little pick me up. She remembered spotting a vending machine in the stairwell when she was climbing to her place on the fourth floor.

The trip was nerve wracking. Lights would flicker and Sayua would think she saw shadows. She hurried her way down the halls past countless doors. The sound of the dripping and random noises coming from the rooms played to her nervousness.

She finally arrived at a vending machine, it appeared to have bottled drinks with high quantities of caffeine in them. Sayua reached for her wallet and began pulling out ryo when the lights flickered again, when they came back on...

Enhanced Chakra Control

Even before beginning her training in the medical corps Sayua had developed a good deal of chakra control. Born with mediocre chakra reserves, she struggled through practical applications in academy until she became more precise with her use of the technique. Practicing iryo ninjutsu has only helped to sharpen her skill over time.

Medical Training

Sayua has gone through the rigorous training regiment of Iwagakure's medical corps. She is trained in the practice of medicine using mundane tools and has a academic understanding of the human body.

Vital Sense

By utilizing her enhanced chakra control Sayua is able to feel the area around them with their chakra and locate nearby individuals through detecting their heartbeat, she can also determine if a person is wounded and roughly how severe the wound is. She can lastly detect but not identify the presence of toxins. Unlike a normal sensory talent she can not see objects or determine difference between different people unless they have something like an irregular heartbeat. Her talent requires locating chakra networks so it is still able to be blocked by those using chakra suppression, and also those who do not have a heartbeat or can hide it. She can sense out to a range of 150m when actively focusing. Within 30m she can passively detect with this ability.

The girl was fairly pissed, having been swept by a damn Uchiha. They looked different than what she was told but he was powerful nonetheless. Kunikunosaku frankly hated being in her room,she'd rather be hidden in one of the ice caves but the need of important information kept the girl in place. Kunikunosaku pulled at her hair trying to think of ways to better her performance now that Wasurete got his ass disqualified. Kuni paced back and forth in her room, letting her threads run wild as she was in deep thought. She felt the need to scout any possible competition, the desire to get the upper hand was all too strong. But, she couldn't risk being seen.

Kuni remembered how the earlier note came to her, telling her how to get to the bunkers. It also showed how they delivered mail into the rooms. The girl couldn't help but smirk as her window of opportunity arrived. The girl got close to the ground as the threads ran wild, unstitching and restitching until the girl became an otherworldly serpent. Slithering noiseless and fast up the mail chute and out her room. It seemed liKe the lights were flickering, only an aid to the black snake as it slithered to the first of many obstacles. Slowly, it used the same chute to peer in through the doors, noting some were thinking and others were already sleeping. The serpent continued its research with each flicker, scouting what can be seen. Towards the end of the hall, the creature saw a girl and a bow in toll.

Sesshoku came? To watch me? Why is she here? Could it be she came to tell me how she was disappointed? Kuni would think, she needed to get close and fast, she couldn't chance her leaving, no matter the reason. The girl wanted - needed someone to help alleviate the weight on her back. The serpent still used the darkness to hide before sneaking past the girl's legs. It waited behind the vending machine until the lights flickered again before quickly breaking her form and reassembling in the corner. Just in time for her gaze to meet Sesshoku's when the lights flickered back on.

"Sesshoku, you came!" Before Kuni could put 2 and 2 together, she was already reaching for a hug, after just coming out of the shadows like a ghost, a demon, like the monster she was cursed to being. If the girl could cry, she would, instead, she tried to bury her face into Sesshoku, "I really need someone right now."

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

This technique allows the user to become also fluid with their movements. Their skin and body structure becomes serpentine and detaches as they become almost a slithering mass of tendrils. This allows them to become flatter and more nimble. They are able to move as an otherworldly serpent-like creature. In this form, the user is able to move vertically along surfaces and swim quickly. As well, the user can separate their hearts from their body to cover more ground. While this technique enhances the user's stealth it does not prevent them from being detected from a keen eye or other types of tracking.

She had been detecting a strange heartbeat that almost seemed absent from a normal anatomy throughout the evening at different points. She had stopped paying attention to it, thinking it must have been some strange animal running around in the pipes or walls.

When the scarcely clad girl appeared before her Sayua stumbled back from the machine and goosebumps trickled across her skin. For a moment she thought that she was seeing a ghost, until her time looking through the slotted glass during the matchups came to her. It was that girl who had fought the Uchiha boy. She had done something to turn her body into a wiry mess. Now that she was closer she understood what she was sensing before was the strange biology of the wires, but she couldn’t find human anatomy other than the heart outside what she could see on the exterior. Was she even human?

Paralyzed with fear she could not stop the being before her from embracing her and venting her sadness into her shoulder. Her first reaction was to withdraw in fear that she was about to be bitten, but something in the agony in their voice made them seem less a monster than what her senses dictated to her.

Hesitantly, she put a hand on her shoulder. Cold to the touch, which was to be expected given what she was wearing, but Sayua wasn’t sure if this girl was ever warm.

"...There there,” Sayua said in a soft tone. "Is everything alright? Who is…”

She cut herself off. She was worried what might happen if she surprised her this close and vulnerable. She would give the girl a moment to vent if that was what she needed. Sayua had always been supportive to younger girls.

It took a good minute for Kuni to realize she was now seemingly as tall as Sesshoku due to the intense growth brought about by her increasing control. The White Haired Kunoichi was careful not to apply her strength, last thing she wanted was to hurt a friend, especially right now; she needed someone. As the girl moved to let go, the other spoke and caused the Mikatakujira to freeze. This wasn't Sesshoku... It seemed as if a cannon went off in her head, simply dictating Kuni to run. The girl let go of the other and jumped back against the wall. "Wh-Why do you look like Sesshoku? Who ar-" Kunikunosaku stopped herself, it felt, it felt soothing around her. "What- What the fuck?" Kunikunosaku whispered as she gripped her chest, slowly sitting down.

The Genin took a second to recompose herself, "You're that one girl, right? Suika told me how her team had a girl with a big shuriken and one with a bow... Didn't- didn't you forfe-... oh yeah... I did too." Kunikunosaku first asked confidently, then slowly mumbled off, speaking softer and softer. The girl hugged her legs. What do I do, do I run? Do I fight... no, the rules, and the promise. I already told her, might as well finish. Kuni released her legs before sitting on her legs, pushing herself up, to be back at face level if Sayua hadn't moved. "As you know, I'm Mikatakujira Kunikunosaku... Kuni for short." The girl admitted, before placing her head in her hand. "No, I'm not alright."

Kuni wrapped her arms over each other again, threads poking through her skin and slowly swaying in the air, "I already had the stress of not letting my team, my village, or my friends down. Since my dumbass teammate got himself disqualified as you saw, all of his expectations fell on me. And I lost... I let everyone down. I let my Lord down, I let Wasurete and my other teammate, Hideo, down. I let my sensei, Etsuko, down. And I let my closest friend, Sesshoku, down. I thought she came here to talk to me. You reminded me of her, you looked exactly like her and even you have the same bow." Kuni covered her mouth, letting go with a heavy sigh.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I have a lot on my chest and I needed to talk to someone. Sesshoku, she helped me when no one else would, and she protected me when I was stupid... You reminded me so much of her, I feel like I'm talking to her by talking to you." The girl admitted, trying hard not to trip on her words or break down. "It felt nice... Is-is it okay... is it okay if I can get another hug? Please, I don't know what to do, who to turn to. I never felt more alone."

Sayua watched carefully as the little black threads danced around her. She could tell that her mental health was not entirely sound, and though she was terrified of this being she could not help but feel pity for her. She felt the same stresses that Sayua was feeling and the stresses that she knew that Suika was feeling, though her teammate had no inclination to share her grief.

When Kuni asked for another hug, even though she now knew Sayua was a stranger, the brunette did not hesitate to reach out to her. She wrapped a motherly hand over the back of her head and did her best to hide her fright that she was making herself vulnerable to those tentacles.

"Your life is worth more than a rank,” Sayua told her. "You did the right thing. There are worse things than disappointment… I am sure Sesshoku would rather you come home to her.”

She had no idea who this person was, but she could not help to offer comforting words. In truth she was really speaking them for herself as well. She spoke justification for her anxieties in battle into existence.

"It can be hard to fail, but you can learn much from it…”

She thought she probably sounded like a self-help book at this point, but she hoped that her words would calm Kuni.

The girl obliged and Kunikunosaku held on close to her. Sayua was an easy person for Kuni to hug, she just felt comfortable and at peace. The Taki shinobi gathered enough resolve to pull the threads back in her body. Feeling the Iwa shinobi's hand on the back of her head, Kunikunosaku's eyes widened before softening to a soft, almost heart-breaking gaze and moved her face to a place no one can see her silent drowning. Sayua's words cut through her, a sudden realization that she is right. That ranks didn't matter in the end and that what Kuni did, that her forfeit was the right decision. Kuni had her doubts about that but it was wiped away by Sayua's words, that Sesshoku would want her to come home.

It's been so long since those words got to her and the first time in over a year that they felt true. Kuni felt hopeless but mostly sad. In a drive for power, to finally increase her capabilities, she forgot that she was still human, or at least, part of her was. Despite dying and turning into a weapon, in a similar concept that Yosaiyama faced, Kuni retained more of her humanity, unlike her predecessor. This was the division that split the girl's psyche in the first place but only now did she truly realize that even beyond death, the girl continued to make an impact and touch the lives of others, a feat no one else could say.

"Sayua... ar-are you sure you're not Sesshoku?" Kuni asked, cautious of her words, uncertain why Sayua would help her. "You're a great person, thank you." Kuni adjusted her embrace to be less awkward, to hug Sayua more comfortably. "I know we barely know each other, but your words make me want to get to know you and I'll show you Sesshoku... you'll see why you remind me so much of her. If you'll let us get to know each other." The Genin stated to the other, hoping she will oblige the actions, at least consider the idea.

"I do have to ask," The Kunoichi began, holding onto Sayua still. "How are you handling the exams?"

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

"I’m definitely just plain old Sayua,” she told Kuni with a warm smile. "I am flattered that I remind you of someone you seem to hold so dear, though.”

Her thoughts turned back to the exams, and the trial ahead of her tomorrow. She was giving Kuni advice but had some of the same feelings that she did. She was full of anxiety about the day ahead of her, and dread that it wasn’t even the last. She wasn’t going to let Kuni get down in her spirits though.

"Woo, it has been an experience,” she told Kuni. "Someone played a trick on me and I ended up hauling a cow through the first exam. I don’t think i’ll ever drink milk again,” she joked. "Then I met your comrade, who seemed more interested in killing us than in the second exam.”

She was a little bit more somber now. "Then Miho. She was so fast in the second exam, even with an injury. I knew I didn’t stand a chance... " she said with a sigh. ‘Forfeiting was my best chance to gain an advantage, but then I drew Zakku before we left today… I don’t think I stand a chance against him from what I saw. I’ve been trying to think of a way all night…”

Assuring Kuni that the girl was indeed Sayua, it only made the girl's hug tighter. she unloaded so much on a complete stranger, something that the girl was indeed suffering, however, Sayua just listened, letting the girl unwind her worries. Before she started explaining, Kuni finally let go of the girl and listened to her tale of the Exams thus far; keeping an arm across her chest, the girl balanced her adjacent elbow in her palm. Raising the opposite hand to her cheek, Kuni was surprised to hear Sayua's initial reaction. It grew quite apparent her first round was... taxing as she had a cow in toll. The girl continued onto her second round and how she met the dumbas- how she met Wasurete and his bloodlust. It was certainly amusing to the girl that she does not believe she'll drink milk again... Granted that Kuni never has to drink or eat again.

Miho was apparently a speed demon even when injured, which amused the Kunoichi, Is everyone a budget me? Kunikunosaku mused catching her spiel that her best chance of survival was forfeiting. Sayua expressed fear against her new important, this Zakku fellow. After she was done, Kuni took her turn, "Yeah, that's Wasurete. I'm sorry about his behavior." The girl stated, apologizing in pace of her teammate as the her folded arm shivered seemingly. Kuni stared at her arm in anger and the movement instantly stopped. The girl silently sighed before turning to Sayua. "I'm sorry, still a bit jarred from my fight with that damn Uchiha."

"My first round was a breeze, except running across an ocean... we don't talk about that. My second, I met up with Suika again and we ridiculously chased a rabbit, but... the girl, she literally split in two to make a clone. It was weird." Kuni stated, despite being the host for EGF and essentially, living, black ramen. Kunikunosaku narrowed her eyes, "The boy with the red glowing eyes fucked me up, it was pitiful and I feel like a disgrace. He brought everything down and I swear I will kill him if I fight him again, watch out against him." The Mikatakujira stated, gritting her teeth as the threads flailed more aggressively momentarily. "So, how did you get seasoned with that bow? Are you some kind of hunter?"

She felt sorry for him and the other boy that had been disqualified, though she didn’t quite understand the reasoning behind it.

The mere mention of the ocean biome caused Sayua’s eyes to glaze over in horrific memory for a moment. She came to in time to a second later as Kuni was talking about Suika and then the boy with the red eyes. Uchiha Issei. She nodded her head when Kuni told her to be weary of him. She wouldn’t say it, but she was weary of everyone here. She didn’t think she was cut from the same cloth. Kuni was talking about killing someone, and the thought of shooting to kill made her sick to her stomach. Maybe she wasn’t cut out for her current line of work.

"My mother was,” Sayua told Kuni. "I always wanted to be like her, but my village needed a medic more than it did an archer. I just did a lot of practicing on my time off… when I really probably should have been studying.”

She withdrew and caught another glimpse of the strange black threads. She tried not to stare but her eyes were drawn to them, reminding her that the girl’s physiology seemed impossible.

"Do you need something to drink?” Sayua offered as she turned her attention momentarily back to the vending machine.

It was great to learn that Sayua was as easy to get along with as Sesshoku, Kuni felt comfortable and for the first time out of the proximity of friends or village, Kunikunosku finally smiled authentically. While it was only brief, it felt kind of nice. Something that she wouldn't casually do again. Sayua then corrected the Mikatakujira's observation. Sayua was not a hunter, but her mother was; because of that, the girl trained to copy her and be one. However, her home needed more medics and thus became that instead. She would still break from her studies to practice with the bow, a feat Kunikunosaku admired. Even though she had a dream, she gave that up to help out her home.

Kuni shook her head and her right hand looked like it was literally falling off, hanging by a black thread. "I have to decline... See I come from a clan of medics but we were leaderless for a bit. The apprentice... the next head, he failed and was executed. I'll get to why." More threads reached from her arm to pull and reconnect her hand, stitching her skin clean as she held it out for Sayua to see. "This is our gift... curse... the power that our heads and future clan heads get. I became the next candidate through volunteering, but it comes with a price." The poor lighting still flickering periodically, they really needed to fix that.

"To get this power, you need to let it kill you. And it'll remake you for a price." Kuni placed a hand where hearts normally are. "In exchange, we don't need to eat, drink, sleep, breathe, we can't get poisoned, we don't need medics or medicine, and we're virtually unkillable." The White-haired Kunoichi stated in a somber tone as a look of pain crossed her face, but nothing else. "Let's just say my father is gone and my mother hates me." Kuni finished before sighing her troubles away. "But yeah, just get what you need. I'm good." Kunikunosaku actually thought of prying the machine open, if anyone, she can, but why? "Uhm... so... if you are an Iwa shinobi... Nevermind, it's a stupid question." The Takigakure shinobi stated, before shaking her head. "Sayua, if we make it through this, mind coming to Takigakure? Meet my friend and maybe teach me how to use a bow, if it's no trouble."

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body

As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

It was actually somewhat comforting to hear that it was some sort of extreme body modification that Kuni was under, a subject that she was at least passingly familiar with, though even with being able to see the system beneath her body it was still beyond anything she could truly fathom. Still, understanding that there was a science behind what was going on made it less foreign to her, though she was saddened to hear that it killed her normal biological processes. She understood now why she seemed to be having a hard time dealing with stress. Topping that condition off with an unstable household must have been hard.

Sayua put money into the machine and a fizzy red soda would land at the bottom. She pulled the bottle up as Kuni invited her to her home. At first she was taken back, but she smiled. She knew of Bonchi no Kuni from stories of her mother’s adventures and a large boar head that to this day was mounted on the wall in her families’ curry shop. She wondered if she could snag a trophy of her own. Just having someone to talk to at the moment was nice, really.

"Have I the freedom to do so, I will come to visit!” Sayua assured her. "Sometimes they send couriers your way, perhaps if I make chunin I could get permission. I wouldn't mind helping you learn to shoot.”

If she made chunin. Her stomach churned with anxiety over the trials ahead at the thought of how big of an impact it would have on her.

"You said you don’t need to drink… But maybe… maybe you’d like to taste?” Sayua said, offering the bottle to her. "It’s okay to indulge in things you don’t need sometimes, it is good for your head.”

Perhaps it was a stupid gesture. For all she knew it could be harmful to someone of her physiology, but she was sure Kuni would know if it was.

Born with mediocre chakra reserves, she struggled through practical applications in academy until she became more precise with her use of the technique. By utilizing her enhanced chakra control Sayua is able to feel the area around them with their chakra and locate nearby individuals through detecting their heartbeat, she can also determine if a person is wounded and roughly how severe the wound is. She can lastly detect but not identify the presence of toxins. Unlike a normal sensory talent she can not see objects or determine difference between different people unless they have something like an irregular heartbeat. Her talent requires locating chakra networks so it is still able to be blocked by those using chakra suppression, and also those who do not have a heartbeat or can hide it. She can sense out to a range of 150m when actively focusing. Within 30m she can passively detect with this ability.

The girl felt happy at the answer Sayua said, and even happier at her idea how she could get there. The girl ultimately smiled upon hearing the other Genin state how she wouldn't mind teaching Kuni how to shoot a bow. She watched as the girl seemed squeamish a bit, Kuni didn't quite know why but it seemed odd. She doesn't remember ever being like that but maybe people changed in the year she wasn't. Sayua did recall a point Kuni raised earlier. She didn't drink but maybe she would enjoy the taste of what she did, stating it is okay to indulge in things she doesn't need, clear her head a bit.

Kunikunosaku knew she had no need for it and honestly no desire for it. But she did recall the outing with Raika and how drinking that tea was meant to make her feel more human. Raika knew somewhat how it couldn't take any taste. In the end though, it was relaxing in the fact it made her feel human. Kuni covered her mouth and sighed; uncertain if this would really even worth it. "If you insist." Kunikunosaku took the bottled drink and winked at Sayua. She took a quick swig and took her time to ingest it. Closing her eyes to feel the liquid slide down her throat. It so much as far barely passed the center of her chest before the threads consumed it, ruining the feeling. Still, it let the girl feel what could be considered human in an odd way. Handing bad the liquid, Kuni explained. "I can't even taste, well I can but it's all bland. I already forgot what things taste like. It makes me still feel... human."

Kunikunosaku placed a hand on Sayua's shoulder and in a light but serious tone told Sayua exactly the advice she needed months ago. "Don't ever lose or think you lost your humanity. I did and it destroyed me, I'm still, I'm still having trouble trying to fix that. I wish you luck." Kunikunosaku's final words to Sayua before she gave up on her mission, this was better for her anyway. The girl would walk away, heading other room for hours long meditation if the other had nothing more to say; if she did, Kuni would stay put and face Sayua, holding her attention solely on Sayua.

[attr="class","plzSharp55"]When Kuni told her not to lose her humanity, Sayua was reminded of advice given by one of her sensei’s peers, Akira. He told her not to stake her life on these exams. While Kuni’s advice fell on the opposite lane of things, it seemed like two pieces of a whole.

She felt reaffirmed that these trials were taken too seriously, and at the same time could understand how the adrenaline could get the best of them.

"Good luck Kuni! See you on the other side,” Sayua called to the girl as she made her departure. She took the bottle to her side and began making her way back to her room, through the flickering lights. She’d have to get Kuni’s post information to send her a letter once they got back home.
