The three individuals would receive a scroll with instructions. The shinobi they were hunting was to be brought in dead, or alive. Alive was always preferred, but sometimes it was simply impossible. If the trio was met with an overwhelming amount of resistance then they were to kill, but to incapacitate and bring back to the village for investigation was what was most desired by the village. Either way, their scroll also read the information that was known about the shinobi they were hunting, this only barely more detailed than that of the standard-issue bingo book. They had a personality, name and looks, and some other ratings/rankings that they would likely need to know. But unfortunately, it was incomplete, to be expected since this individual had not been seen for three years. A lot could change in that time.

So the three would find themselves at the beginning of the road in Takigakure no Sato. And a long road ahead of them, it would be hard to find who they were looking for as he reportedly looked quite plain, which did not help the situation. But, at least they had a direction to move in - the deep and most unknown reaches of the rainforest within Bonchi no Kuni and they were looking for missing individuals, still alive or otherwise.

This was simply by far, the best mission request Kunkunosaku has ever received. Detailing the story of a former Takigakure shinobi, one named Suzuki Kaito. This said he was a Chūnin grade nuke... a really old Chūnin, one that was hopefully still in the area. So, it seemed her patrol didn't catch everyone, nor did it catch everything. No matter, this time, she can right her wrongs. Over the death of a coward, the lament of a stranger. Of course, the Chūnin held to the deal she held to Ryū, refrain from wanton scavenging and any criminal needing death was hers to take.

Meaning anyone not of the village with any ill intent was free game. The girl reread any and all recorded details regarding this hunt. There has been records of sightings but most vanish with these sightings. Probably a coincidence... This guy's personality reads cowardly... well, it actually says he's ambitious but I think from what we have, he's a deserter. So an ex-Taki coward. He likes to punch but also likes to Wasurte people... fuck. Kunikunosaku grabbed her shinobi pouch, measuring her optimal tool kit prior to putting the daggers in the threaded chambers Jiongu made in her forearms.

Making her way out of her home, Jiongu outfitted her signature outfit. "Here we go killing again, so anyone else?" Kuni muttered to herself before taking out the mission scroll, glancing for names aside from her own. Sesshoku and Yama- I'm excited and honestly pissed. The girl thought as she put her scroll near her leg, letting the threads pull and hide it. Akira, she considered a friend no matter their vices, she isn't even aware if they had any. If the Yamakira is who she guessed it may be, well, this'll be another interesting team dynamic. Kunikunosaku arrived at the gate and only had one thought, Fuck.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Leaning on one side of the gates with crossed arms Takeshi was waiting for the final member of the impromptu team to arrive. When he had gotten the scroll the Yamakira had mostly skimped noting down the important bits of what the objective was and that he would be going alongside Akira for the mission. There had been another name but he had written it off fairly quickly besides nothing that it was someone from the Mikatakujira clan.

Being fairly quick to gather his things naturally the next step had been to find Akira and pester her while she got ready and then of course drag her towards the gates. As tempting as it would have been to just go on directly from there to search for their target Takeshi had instead opted to be nice and actually not leave behind the third and last teammate. Though maybe he should have when he finally noticed who exactly it was.

As his gaze went to Kuni understanding flashed through Takeshi’s face, as he recognized her, while he snapped his fingers and spoke. "Ah the weak brat.”

Pausing he allowed her to join them at the gates before speaking to her once more "Quick heads up if you decide to be troublesome and obstruct us, this time I will rip off your heart Brat.”

Nodding self-satisfied at his own thoughtfulness he would turn to Akira and say "Right Let’s get going then.” Before moving to exit the fake Taki village and start heading towards the location where reports of missing people originated form since supposedly it was connected to the missing nin.

Lots of information was missing. There were guesses and estimations of locations, but nothing was set in stone. It was something she wasn’t a fan of in the least.. But her task was assigned no less. So much lacking information and searching for an individual in the midst of unknowns simply meant that it was going to be a very exhausting mission for her… So even while preparing after those summons, she’d find herself accosted and bothered by a very familiar presence… Yamakira Takeshi. One well known to her household and took her window as a door far too often…

It made it easy to finish preparing and head out. Pants snug to her legs with a similarly form fitting top that covered the archer’s body from tip to toe. Extra padding wrapped around her torso in protection of her chest with gloves over her hands. Hair tugged up, bow over her back, and equipment set in place, she’d be alongside the Yamakira even until the Front Gate. Mostly quiet as they waited, though perhaps with little quips back and forth. Short and simple, until their last teammate would show.

Greeted as per the Yamakira’s lovely self. A glance his way and bow smoothly slipped from her back to lazily send a swat towards his head.

"Charming as always.”

The words coming after he would have stated he’s rip out Kuni’s heart. Her little jab towards him and then slinging that bow back in place. Assuming he still mentioned they should head out, there’d be a brief nod then a look towards the other girl.

"Let’s succeed.”

A bit of encouragement there, in her own way, eyes of the Sesshoku looking over Kuni and giving a soft nod again as if approving. But soon to follow Takeshi, their steps taking them towards where information pointed. Sketchy information… but one must start somewhere. The deep of Bonchi no Kuni…

The trio would set off into the rainforests of Bonchi no Kuni that surrounded their home village. Wandering would do no good, instead, it was likely best that they head straight to a village that had known disappearances. Unfortunately, there was no knowledge of where he actually was, Bonchi no Kuni was possible though since that was the last known location and a few rumors had spread as far as Takigakure that there were in fact more and more disappearances. Perhaps the coward had grown bold and had come back to his native country to continue carrying his operations out there?

A bold coward, that was ironic.

Either way, after some walking, the trio would come to a split pathing in the rainforest. Both led to different places. The one on the left to the capital city - Nishama-jo. The one on the right led to Outpost 132. Both had civilians, though one had fewer than the other. Both could be worth checking out for potential disappearances. The capital would certainly take longer to inspect though might yield more result. However, the outpost was closer to the border - though still quite close to the capital as the first line of defense - which meant that it could very well house their culprit as well.

Once Kuni arrived at the gates, she was greeted by the sight of Takeshi and Akira. The former having choice words to say to the girl. She hasn't seen him since the training before the CEs, it was a sight he hadn't missed. His words caused Kuni's face to change from a small smirk of excitement into a stale, nonchalant face holding back anger. Teeth were clenched and threads popped and flailed from her shoulders. Sesshoku spoke of sarcasm aimed at Takeshi, the threads stopping their movement as her gaze shifted to her. Kunikunosaku looked back at Takeshi, threads resuming their flailing as Takeshi turned to Sesshoku, stating that they should head out. As more directed at her living peer, Kuni quietly nodded before hearing and turning to Sesshoku's voice, her small quip of acknowledgment made the frail grin just flash for a second before returning to an apathetic appearance.

The threads of the Mikatakujira crawled back into her as the male took the lead, followed by Sesshoku. Kunikunosaku followed right after, eyes far more narrowed as she tried to connect the dots. Is Sesshoku tired of this teammate? Do not tell me they are like Wasurete and me. Kunikunosaku's day started so pleasant, the thrill and rush of finding out she could hunt and possibly kill a Nuke was ruined by the face of one teammate and the possibility she might be tuck with awkward love birds. If the latter was true, what the fucking hell did Sesshoku find in Takeshi, if it wasn't the case, the girl was hopefully worrying over nothing. Kunikunosaku did her bet from keeping in line with Takeshi, more trying to keep in sync with Sesshoku, positioning herself so her superior? Peer? was in between the two. Clan-wise, they should be akin to friends, at least tolerable acquaintances, instead, Takeshi was the one exception that made Kunikunosaku pissed and placed a haze over clan standing and personal rivalries.

She only spoke when spoken to, hopefully not at all by the Yamakira. Kunikunosaku would be infinitely more at ease when speaking with Sesshoku if that would come up. If neither spoke, the snow-haired Chūnin was more than happy to travel in silence, her mission was to hunt a Nuke, not befriend another asshole, she has enough of that with Wasurete. Soon enough, the trio would approach the crossroads that divided their path and their choices. Kuni's nonchalant voice pierced the air, "They wouldn't know anything we don't already know. Word of mouth travels quick, I think we should go to the capital, try and find matching stories. We're hunting a coward, no way they'll present themselves during the day, nor be dumb enough to go near an outpost." The Chūnin stated her thoughts, folding her arms below her small bosom.

Unlike her teammates, she was toned to be a fit, athletic shinobi, rather thin and frail-looking compared to her peers, there was, however, no denying the latent and current abilities, well, Takeshi could all he wants, Kuni couldn't care less of whatever his advice remained, she graduated and was more or less on par with them. All that really mattered was the mission at hand and if he didn't appreciate the team dynamic, he was more than welcome to go elsewhere on his own.

Takeshi’s only respond towards Akira was a snort of an amusement followed by "You know it.” acknowledging her comment but not returning his attention again towards the Mikatakujira after his promise to her. After that they would proceed in venturing further down the road. Once they reached the crossroads they would stop.

It seemed Kuni had opinion on what they should be doing and Takeshi being the considerable person that he was listened to what she said and then even mulled it over what she said. Obviously, what she said was wrong but he allowed her to voice it before tuning her out. Turning to the only one that could actually give sensible advice the Yamakira threw a question to Akira.

"We should go to the outpost. If there were disappearance there it would be easier to gleam things for you due to being less densely populated with civilians. Besides the officials there are bound to know if things happened in the capital anyways seeing in what capacity the outpost acts as. What do you think?”

It was one of the things Takeshi had taken to doing after his training and joining of Anbu being almost tactful and actually planning and talking things out with people without being too forceful. Well, it was actually just Akira that he did that with and the rest he just listened to before correcting them and proceeding to do his own thing most of the time unless they were stronger than him.

It was already starting off to be a little tilting to be with these two on this mission… A missing nin that had been gone for three years was set before them and the subtle squabbling and less subtle insults would prove to make a rather dreary atmosphere. Takeshi perked up fine in his own way, the arrogant prick he was would laugh and take it all as some glorious compliment to himself. While Akira was pretty sure that the Mikatakujira was on her last nerve already. Great…

The travel was at least bearable to some degree, mostly due to it being silence. Not much speaking between them and reaching a crossroads. This was going to be a rather difficult mission for the Sesshoku, she could feel it, yet deep breaths were taken and she pushed on. Information was vital… and she was one who could attain it.

And there it was. Where they’d cross. Naturally the two aggressive personalities pushed their way through with their own opinions with Akira’s own split in that personality starting to bubble and seethe. Why did they think they should talk before her? Damn straight Takeshi should ask her opinion. But fought back… subdued, and hesitation from the girl as she looked to the Yamakira.

"I’m under the impression he hides in plain sight. Unassuming. He could very well be anywhere and seem like he’s not a threat. People only talk about what they think they should, but not everyone knows what questions to ask. That’s where we come in.”

Mostly answering her female teammate, but reaching to her belt and pulling out a scroll. Unrolling it and setting it on the ground, she’d press her hand to it briefly and summon two wireless radios.

"I think there would be more to find out at the Capital, the issue is locating it in the larger area. Whereas my skills are more effective where I can focus. If there is no objection, we’ll split. Kunikunosaku to the Capital, Takeshi and I to the Outpost. In six hours we’ll check in and go from there. Be sure to head towards the edges of the Capital, the range is going to be tricky for these.”

A mouthful… but spoken with a little bit of an edge herself. These two were aggravating… and her mind was just enough shoved over the edge that the normally backward and awkward girl was being thrown off into one of her more furious and aggressive counterparts. Rolling up her scroll, she’d mean to pocket the radio.

"Takeshi.”

They should go. And she’d be on the move. Surely Kuni could have changed her mind and gone with them, but otherwise it would be the two on their way to the Outpost to locate someone to offer them more.

"Tsk, shinobi everywhere," An unassuming individual mumbled, wandering through the streets. He appeared as anyone else did as he moved past a crowd. Those patrolling the streets did not notice him, and all for the best as he shuffled along with a small smile curling onto his features, in truth he was tailing someone. Who? It was hard to discern in the crowd, but he was.

Back at the road junction, the three would argue, Akira being mostly the voice of reason before they would exchange wireless radios and be set on their way - if everyone agreed - the two more agreed ones to the outpost and Kuni in a solo effort towards the capital. Was it the smartest idea to send the most inexperienced chunin all by herself to potential enemy territory? Time would tell.

Traveling to respective locations would take approximately thirty minutes for each party, a little more a little less depending on the speed with which they traveled. If they ran and exhausted some of their stamina early, less time, if they walked wasting time, no doubt fifteen minutes more. Choosing an even pace would have been ideal but it was up to them.

The outpost would be well-guarded and the two shinobi would find themselves having to check-in as well stating their reasoning for why they were coming in, to begin with. Once inside they would be immediately greeted by a plethora of civilians wandering around some peddling merchandise, others playing board games. A few children. A few of the very elderly. The outpost was sizeable, but nothing the two could not easily cover if they put the effort in. There was nothing of great interest, though the two might benefit from asking the merchants a few questions... There was a potato merchant and one empty stall over from him was another merchant selling jewelry.

Kuni would arrive at the capital city, guarded but the guards were spread more thinly - unsurprisingly - she would still have to move through the checkpoint though she would be asked a lot less in questions since it was a capital city and she was a shinobi, she did not necessarily have to have a reason to visit. Once inside, she would be met with an endless bustling crowd. It would be hard to figure out what to do here at all. The western parts of town were mostly residential, the eastern parts were mostly commercial, straight ahead on the other side of the gate she stood at would be the epicenter alongside some of the largest buildings housing lords and ladies of Bonchi. Where she stood now? Mostly a transportation area. She could choose any one of these locations to start looking through, but it was unsurprisingly overwhelming especially for one person.

I think you're an idiot going to an outpost our shinobi watch. They would have sent more details or clearly sent a notice they captured him, they are not as dumb as you think, Takeshi. Kuni thought as the Yamakira spoke more and more. She tightened her jaw, almost gritting her teeth to keep quiet. The Mikatakujira turned over to the calm one, or at least the more quiet of the three, her voice of reason quelling Kuni, but unbeknownst to her, keeping Takeshi on a leash. This momentary spot where Sesshoku spoke led the Chūnin to nod her head in agreement.

Explaining her plan to split up, Kunikunosaku's threads changed her appearance from her revealing signature look to that of the formal black. Tight on her body, yet, much more conservative much like a typical civilian. "Gladly." Kuni spoke as she grabbed a radio, walking past Takeshi without so any noise effectively splitting the group awkwardly and leaving the Mikatakujira on her own. Walking a way before the sight of her was no longer possible Kuni took out her own wireless radio to set the correct channel, frequency, and amplitude, effectively creating a third radio outfitted by her clan for her to use without hindrance to her hijutsu. She turned off the input volume of the radio given before placing the radio near her ankle, threads reaching to grab the given radio and pull it into her leg while Kuni put her own in her pouch and the ear-piece where it should be.

There was a reason she did this, not only to have a backup if things go stale but a cookie trail. She wasn't as dumb as that bastard thought. Kunikunosaku eventually reached the Capital, Nishama-jo. The questions, most of them, were answered by her headband around her neck. She still gave a name and the sole reason of the Taki Lord sending her on a mission. It was partially true, mostly, in the most hollow of sense, but it was enough to give her the okay to go. The Capital was so much larger than the girl thought. Her clones were no help, they'd dissipate way too fast for a search of any kind.

And using a black Grudge would scare the people past hell. No, Kuni had to do this subtly, walk with crowds hide and pretend to talk with groups while she listened for gossip or rumors. At least, that was the plane as she headed to the residential district. Off she went, to the West, hopefully, she will have luck.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Tilting his head Takeshi listened to the input Akira provided and mulled it over internally. Unsurprisingly she did agree with his plan though she was also trying to console the brat something that the younger chuunin didn’t deserve. A huff escaped him as his eyes drifted towards Kuni but being a good teammate and a professional that he was the Yamakira decided not to react beyond that and also resisted the urge to rip off the Mikatakujira’s arms.

It was a close thing but his tremendous patience won out and he didn’t even do anything as they split off and Kuni brushed past him. Moving at a moderate pace towards the outpost Takeshi turned a bit towards Akira "The brat is lucky I’m in a good mood and that you are here. I just know you’ll give me that grumbling look if I had antagonized her.” obviously brushing past the fact that he had in fact antagonized her before that already.

The check in was annoying but after stating that they were on a mission the guards would easily let them in. Looking around Takeshi’s face scrunched up for a moment though for a different reason this time before once more speaking towards the Sesshoku "We should question the merchants if they know anything then probably the guards as well if they have seen or know where the disappearance happened. It…It would probably be better if you were the one leading the conversations though.”

It still stung a bit to admit that and that maybe his otherwise flawless personality might not lend itself to conversing with the civilians but on the other side of things Akira was the only one he would even admit that to. It spoke about the trust he had in her in a way and the fact he was willing to allow her an avenue to tease him as well.

Things had barely started but remained in a relatively tense mood. It ate at her nerves… why the two had to be so uptight and aggravating was beyond her. But the usually timid and hesitant girl would have those remaining personalities swirling inside her, unfolding and reforming within her mental scape. She got through her own opinion, they’d reluctantly agree to being half agreed with. And everyone would move on.

The girl was a chūnin now. Like it or not, just because she was new didn’t mean she had less responsibility. Genin was for learning. Chūnin was for leading. Not that Akira didn’t hold bits of worry at being the one that parted them all… if something happened she knew she’d bear the guilt. Regardless, side by side with Takeshi. A place that was both familiar and tiresome, their pace swift without frantic, but neither of them would have been happy with a walk.

"My nerves are thing, Takeshi. It’s going to be a long assignment for me.”

A warning, but thinly veiled request for his help. He knew her strengths and limitations, she was very certain she’d be pressing at the lid of what she could accomplish before exhaustion set in. And what was more… Even the slightest use of her abilities could shatter that fragile mind of hers. A thought that still ever permeated her thoughts.

Arrival at the outpost was as expected. Security and questioned. The Sesshoku taking the backseat to Takeshi’s lead, but forthcoming when addressed. They were certainly on a mission, one assigned by Lord Ryū. And if there was contention with that they could certainly bring it up with him.

His suggestion was set forth once they got through that security though. Merchants then guards, with her leading the way. A moment of pause would be given and the girl looking to him, uncomfortable but not altogether disagreeing… Takeshi was an asshole. She might be uncomfortable around people but at least she didn’t typically want to grind them into a fine paste and let them know that… A hesitant nod given and the easiest one for her to approach would come first….

"Your produce seems well kept, do you happen to deal with the Sesshoku Kioku? My family often had me transporting goods for our clan to the merchants in our area.”

A little bit of conversation made and opened up, trying to gain some ground and basis with the merchant. Potatoes. She’d lugged countless sacks across Takigakure… A time or two the irritating and heavy mounds would tear the sacks in the middle of her trip… But none the less, seeing how they might respond and hoping to follow up with further questioning.

"We’re in the area over concerns of missing persons. Have you heard anything of the sort?”

SImple questions…. Right? Her skills with people were not the most honed and she wanted to punch Takeshi in the face for making her go… But simple hopefully, maybe they’d find something quickly…

In the residential district, there were high buildings, some were cleverly built into the cliffside where waterfalls fell, others were strewn about in more traditional fashion. Some were apartments, tall buildings that even a shinobi could not clear with a single leap and bound. Others were quite short, some homes were gated, clearly belonging to the wealthy, or even some nobility. The streets here were mostly empty during the day, with the exception of children - younger children - playing in the streets. Stray play balls and the like laid abandoned, whilst others were in heavy use. Kuni could choose to ask one of the children, though as most of them were around five years old or youngsters with their siblings it was unlikely that she would get much use out of this area at this time of day. Though, there were a few grandparents gardening in the more sequestered homes... Maybe a question could be asked of them, about any disappearances or anything remotely similar to that?

"Grandma! Look at how that girl is dressed!" One of the boys shouted, grinning from ear to ear. He had never seen someone so scantily clad, and even as a youngster, he was able to tell that Kuni's choice of dress wasn't exactly normal, not normal at all. Most individuals dressed more modestly, that was for certain.

The pair had arrived in the outpost, and had chosen to approach the potato merchant. Who was peddling his wares by shouting to attract customers. However, he would quiet down when the two shinobi approached a smile on his features as he was intent on selling his potatoes!

"Oh yes yes, they're quite good! And yes! I have worked with Sesshoku before," He nodded, lifting up taro. "How does this one look, hm?" He was about to try and offer the girl to hold the potato when she asked him a question about missing people.

The man's eyes widened and he would immediately motion for her to lower her voice.

"Shh.. We've all heard of disappearances...They're.. Well they're becoming more and more common around these parts, but.. no one knows where they go. Sometimes they disappear in broad daylight, other times, in between checkpoints in the wilderness... Rumored to be a whole huge gang of kidnappers. Don't tell me you kids are planning to go after whoever these criminals are?"

Finding herself in the belly of the beast, Kunikunosaku looked around in awe at how well built the residential district was. There were homes that were vastly different than Takigakure and others that were more humbling. It was quite a perspective change, especially when comparing it to the home she grew to know and love. While the spectacle was surely amazing, it wasn't why she was here. As she dove deeper into the district, the Chūnin was greeted by the sight of children playing on the streets. While it was definitely sweet to see, Kuni couldn't care less. She has grown numb to the sight of children and irritated by them, it was as if their playing and racing hearts were stirring Jiongu.

Kuni did her best to shut the voice of the boy that called her out, any cheers and jeers would be met by silence. The girl clenched her teeth as she spotted individuals who could talk to her more coherently than any child could especially be of better use. If they weren't prunes and would talk to her despite appearances, Kuni only went as far as the street would let her before it would start becoming private property. "Um, excuse me. If you have a moment, I would like to speak to you." She grabbed and pointed at the headband around her neck, "Lord Ryū sent me." The girl followed up with.

Her goal was simple if they were willing, she would try to converse with the elder citizens to ask about the disappearances, a common theme, where they were last sighted but more importantly when were they last sighted. Establishing it isn't a mistake of eyes and making sure it was exactly the nuke they were hunting. If they refused to give her an answer or downright refused to give her a chance, she'd just go somewhere else, maybe there are people there who can help her. Hey, what time is it?

Takeshi heard her words and knowing what pressure she was under due to the nature of her ability decided that maybe he should try and be a bit more diplomatic once they met up again with their other teammate or well maybe in general for the mission. The thoughts still felt like biting into a sour lemon but honestly not as much as they once would have. The things he did for her.

A frown mixed with a bit of worry formed on the Yamakira’s face while Akira was busying looking away for a moment before smoothing away. He knew she would probably see it in his memories but it was still better to not show it currently. That was why he even allowed her to take the charge since well she doing the opening was better.

Nothing happened as they entered the checkpoint and moved to question the merchants. For the most part Takeshi just hovered over his teammate’s shoulder as she began talking with one of the men peddling their wares. Nothing too important was said though he could do without the doubt being thrown their way.

It was for that reason that the Yamakira finally butted in the conversation with a smirk on his face.

"Hah don’t worry about us. We are shinobi of Takigakure and I am an Yamakira. Nothing can stand in our way let alone a few kidnappers right Akira?”

Directing the last beat at his friend Takeshi briefly grinned at her before once more turning to the merchants and spoke.

"So, do you roughly know where these kidnappings happen or at very least where the last one did?”

It was straightforward but the Yamakira hardly had the patience for it and hey was being polite enough already. That and he had confidence Akira could jump in and smooth things over or add questions that might prove more fruitful.
