Standing near the edge of the wooden ship, Kazui leaned against the railing, fidgeting with her fingers as she watched the crew mates work on loading the cargo onto the ship, little did they all know that the cargo that they were handling was fake, it was all fake, nothing of value was in any of the crates, boxes, or bags. The girl didn’t say much as they worked, instead her mind simply played the scenario that happened at the river over and over again along with the words Umetaro had told her.

She couldn’t seem to shake those particular thoughts for anything, knowing that her brother was somewhere out there without her really tugged at her heart strings.

"Is that the last of it?!” The captain of the ship finally made his appearance on the dock, he was an older fellow with years of experience put into his profession. If Kazui had to guess, he had been doing this for around 30 years faithfully. "I believe so!” One of the crewmates responded, and with a nod of his head, he would step into the ship, walking past Kazui as she was still in thought. She was dressed as one of the crewmen, figuring that the presence of shinobi would likely repel their intended targets.

Umetaro was somewhere, probably scoping everything out or simply getting on someone’s nerves, the girl wasn’t sure all that she knew was that it was almost time to get things started. From here they would be taking to the seas, headed for a port in the Land of Lighting, but their purpose was to attract attention from dangerous pirates who had been known to attack precious cargo ships just as this one.

[Uchiha Umetaro]

Now that Kazui was officially back, it seemed that Konoha wasn't going to let her rest. It hadn't been more than a week and here they were, out on a mission. And on a boat, no less! How exciting! Umetaro would have been considerably more upbeat if he wasn't still trying to attain what the sailors had called "sea legs". What could that mean? Did sailors secretly gain the powers of fish when they spent enough time at sea? It was truly something to ponder. 

Kazui was keeping her distance, and Umetaro was of two minds about it. On hand, she could be really infuriating when she wanted to be, and it was clear that she wasn't as invested in him as he had been in her, so it was kind of nice she wasn't just berating him. On the other, it was worrying: Kazui was always the type to do things on her own. She was probably planning something, and Umetaro wasn't sure she had all the pieces to jump into anything with a good measure of success. 

He was still plotting to try and break the lock on her memories, but it was slow going. And now they were dressed up as deckhands on a boat, hunting literal pirates like something out of a novel. What a strange and bizarre world they lived in!

Finally paying attention to the world around her, the girl would look up and watch as the remainder of the crewmen hurried to get onboard before the ship took off. Was it time to go already? She asked in her mind. It appeared so. As the ship was beginning to sail off from the port, Kazui would stand up straight and let her sensory carry her to wherever Umetaro was. If they didn’t speak this entire time, she at least wanted to go over the mission debriefing one last time to ensure there wouldn’t be any confusion between the two.

She moved as if she had been a sailor for decades, there were no balance issues or sickness that overcame her as they took to the seas. This wasn’t her first time on a ship such as this, and it was clear that she got used to it fast.

"Umetaro..” She spoke out softly, finally reaching his location. It appeared as if he was trying to find his footing amongst the rocky waters, but Kazui couldn’t blame him or make fun of him for it, the problem would go away over time. "I just wanted to go over this mission one last time.” She ensured no other deckhands were nearby. "As far as I am aware, only the captain knows who we are, he was up for the challenge and put his trust into us to keep him and the rest of his crew safe.” Her soft yet impassive voice explained, a soft sigh rolled from her lips as she looked around.

"Also, you might want to relax for the time being.” Dark hues looked towards the sky, storm clouds were rolling in from the distance, on the route they were scheduled to take, which called for a bumpy ride up ahead. If she were a pirate, this weather was perfect for a surprise attack on a much larger vessel. From her pouch she retrieved a map and looked at it extensively as she studied the many paths some of the pirates might take to ambush them. Honestly, she hated being a sitting duck, but it was the mission she was assigned so there wasn’t really anything she could do about it.

[Uchiha Umetaro]

When Kazui called his name, Umetaro turned on a dime in the direction of the sound. He didn't want to miss anything on this mission. How often did you get to go out and be on a ship? This was two steps away from a vacation... if the entire world would stop tilting back and forth on obliques. 

He spread both arms out once he had made his way over to Kazui. "Catch that sea air," Umetaro said. "There's nothing like the open ocean in the morning. What's up?"

He frowned in thought as she said she wanted to go over the mission one more time. It made sense: Umetaro knew what they were getting into, but he still wasn't one hundred percent on the level with everything that was going on. Kazui was the team leader here, not him. 

"I'm doing my best as a rookie sailor," he said in response to the fact that they were supposed to pretend to be sailors, not shinobi. He was having a good time doing his best sailor impressions. 

"I'm relaxing, I'm relaxing," Umetaro said, and comically waved off her concern. "We're just two sailors out on the ocean. What's the worst that could happen?"

Everyone knows that's how you invoke disaster, of course.

Kazui looked at the boy blandly as he spread his arms out wide and spoke about the ocean air and how there was nothing much like it in the mornings. Shrugging her shoulders, the girl had to admit that he wasn’t wrong about that, the mornings were almost always a bit better if there was an ocean nearby, and being on it was even more peaceful. However this peace wouldn’t last forever, it was best to cherish it while they had the time to. Taking in a deep breath and resting her eyes briefly, Kazui would calm her nerves and relax as best as she could.

"I must admit, being out here is nice.” She started softly, her voice falling to a whisper as she continued. "It’s always nice to be out of the village.” The young teen added on. Not just because of the things that had happened recently but also the fact that being at home all the time could grow boring. The best part of their profession was the fact that they could essentially travel the world, and missions such as these often helped them explore new places.

As the boat swayed from side to side, Kazui would continue to look around, curiosity finally caused her to ask the question she had been thinking all morning. "How’s everything been going? Ya’know….with the seals.” She asked curiously. "I’ve been studying but….” The girl’s words trailed off as she clenched her fist tightly. Why were seals so hard to undo?

"Right?" Umetaro said, and grinned his classic wolflike grin. "Man, me and Issei went out into the country while you were gone, and he was so uncomfortable being out of the village. I'll take whatever little vacations I can get, y'know?"

It was gratifying to hear Kazui agree with him on something like this. It wasn't necessarily something he was expecting her to agree with, which was a nice little surprise. Talking like this, Umetaro was starting to forget that they were on a shifting boat. It was all starting to get a little easier. 

When she asked about the seals, he leaned in a little closer, and his voice got low. 

"I think I almost have it," Umetaro said, and the grin faded from his face. "Breaking the seal will be difficult, but I think I'll be able to do it. You'll need to prepare for well... Anything. I don't know what you'll remember. It's probably going to suck."

Not the most encouraging thing he could say, but he didn't want to lie. What possibly could Kazui have learned that Hotaru wanted to wipe her memories and then dump her in the middle of the desert? It had to be something awful, something he wanted to shield Kazui from.

Kazui looked around at the crewmen off in the distance working on things and making sure that the boat stays in good enough conditions, as well as watching the oceans to ensure no threats were nearby. As she watched the sailors do their work, she would listen to Umetaro agree and go on about how Issei was uncomfortable when the two of them had gone out of the country for a mission. She could definitely see it, but she didn’t understand why that would be. Maybe Issei was uncomfortable with Umetaro, however she wouldn’t think much of the situation.

"Some places are better than others, but overall I agree. I’d enjoy going anywhere really.” She said to the boy as they continued to sway ever so slightly from left to right.

Nevertheless, what the girl had asked was of sheer importance, and she wanted to know the progress on the whole seal studying. Umetaro’s response was more or less what she was expecting him to say, although it wasn’t that bad. He almost has it, he thinks, he also thinks he’ll be able to freak the seals, which was what Kazui wanted to hear. Perhaps if they combined their studies the two can come up with a solution, but that would definitely have to wait for some other time.

"I’m as prepared as I’ll ever be, I don’t care what happens, I just need to know.” The dreams that plagued her thoughts at night often offered her ideas on her interactions with Hotaru, but those were just dreams, nothing to take seriously. "Well, we should probably focus on the mission. I don’t want any of these people bothering me about not working.” She said softly.

After what felt like a couple of hours of doing absolutely nothing but watching the ocean and waves, the storm that the crew had been expecting had formed, and the ship was as rocky as ever. Most of the men we’re holding on for dear life as the waves continuously crashed into the side of the boat. They all yelled out to one another, directing each other of what and what not to do. The winds were heavy as well, but luckily it didn’t appear to be a storm that would last for long. It seemed as if it were just a brief and subtle reminder from Mother Nature that she was always in control.

Hmmm. Kazui claimed that she was ready. Umetaro wasn't so sure. How ready could anyone really be for that kind of revelation? Perhaps you simply had to look back at it with a painful kind of nostalgia. But the people deserved the truth, whether Konoha or Hotaru liked it or not.

"A sailor's life for me!" Umetaro said in sing-song, and returned to the ruse he and Kazui were performing. 

In another life, could he have gotten used to this? Taken the path of the sea, left the shinobi life behind, being someone completely different than the Uchiha Umetaro he was? It was hard to say, but it was certainly a much more interesting diversion than merely staring out at the grey and roiling sea. 

Where were they going, anyways? Somewhere in Kaminari no Kuni, the land of lightning, right? Umetaro had never been: that nation was so far away, it required a boat ride to get to and from effectively, so it wasn't really high on the list of place Umetaro's family had been keen on going after the death of his father. 

At least now, he'd get to visit once they were on the other side. Score one for Uchiha Umetaro!

While heavy winds blew, and sizable waves rocked the boat causing many to fight for their footing, Kazui simply closed her eyes as she used her chakra to lock her onto the deck of the ship, so even as the boat swayed back and forth, the girl remained anchored down. She was focusing her chakra outward, letting her senses grow further and wider as she sensed the areas around the boat. There wasn’t anything yet, nothing suspicious that the girl could really point out.

The waves eventually settled down a bit more than before, so the ship had a more level footing which allowed the crew to return back to work, sort of. "Is everyone alright?!” One of the veteran sailors called out from the main sail’s mast where he was stationed. Most of the deckhands were still recovering, but they managed to yell back to him that they were fine.

Kazui said nothing, as she continued to focus her senses on the waters, an unknown group of chakras were quickly making their way towards the vessel with haste. "Umetaro!” She called out, once she stood next to the boy, she would speak. "There’s a ship coming in from the east.” The girl pointed in the direction. "They’re moving rapidly towards us, so keep a lookout and stay alert.” She couldn’t tell if they were the pirates, or normal sailors who had gotten disoriented by the storm and lost their way. Regardless, they would have to be vigilant.

Annnnndddddd there it was. Of course this wasn't going to be a smooth voyage: that was the entire point of them being there! Still, Umetaro was hoping it would be a fluke and there wouldn't be pirates sizing them up from the side. Kazui said that they were coming from the east. What did that even mean in this context? Objective East, like the cardinal direction, or was she just using a fancy term for "to the left". It didn't matter, because Umetaro swung his head in the direction she was facing, and his eyes turned even redder. The single tomoe swirled in his eyes at the first sign of danger, almost always. 

He could just make out something on the horizon, and it was getting bigger and bigger, fast. Oh boy, pirate battle time! Why had no Genin team he'd ever been on do things like this? This was way more useful than catching stray cats or doing paperwork for the Hokage! 

"Prepare to board~" Umetaro said in sing-song, and then grinned wickedly. 

With Kazui around, Umetaro felt... different. More confident, perhaps? It was different than being around Issei, or even that horrific sparring match travesty with that medic woman, Miho. Maybe being attacked by the long thought dead brother of your clanmate will do that to you. 

Umetaro bounced back and withdrew into the shadows. He put his hands into the Snake hand seal, and then vanished from sight.

This jutsu needs only the snake handseal, once it is done the user fades out and becomes invisible to the human eye completely not even their shadow is shown.The user has to constantly focus on only the jutsu and cannot attack or make physical contact with others at all while using this jutsu it is used only for recon missions and nothing more.

This jutsu cannot work on anyone with the Sharingan,Byakugan or Rinnegan it also doesn't work on Shinobi who can track scent or summon animals who can track scent.If a user attempts to draw a weapon , attack physically or stops focusing their chakra on it , the jutsu will deactivate automatically.

Despite the fact that they were more than likely getting into conflict, Kazui was glad that there was something or someone nearby. She didn’t want to be on this ship and have nothing happen, she, Umetaro, and the rest of the crew would more than likely have to run this same voyage over and over again until someone finally decided to bite the bait. When she said east however, she meant east, so it was coming from their right but at an angle. The ship left Port City and began heading northeast towards Lightning Country, and the mysterious ship may have departed from Whirlpool Country.

After explaining the situation to Umetaro, the girl would look at the grin on his face as he spoke. Ready to board! A nod of her head would signify that she was ready as well. Dropping back as the boy disappeared, Kazui would begin focusing her senses directly on the unidentified ship that was closing the distance with great speed and velocity, watching them as they grew closer and closer.

"Ship to our right!!!” One of the watchmen called out as he peeked through his binocular scopes. Little did he know that the observation was already made. As Kazui continued to sense the boat, she was able to discern a good number of chakra signatures, and the Captain of the ship was leading the charge as if he were a pioneer. Before they knew it however, the enemy ship was already beside them, and their crew of pirates quickly set forth with their plan, locking onto the cargo ship with grappling hooks and forcing their way on board.

The first who tried to step foot on deck however was met with Kazui’s shoe to his face, a leaping back kick sending him free falling back onto his own ship. Many of the deckhands took to arms with whatever they could find and began fighting against the pirates as well. Down below, the pirate captain watched.

Luckily, Umetaro had been daydreaming about this exact scenario. The Listening Spirit Technique had many, many drawbacks, which is why it wasn't a commonly practiced art. Still, invisibility was a tool that could never been overlooked. Kazui would surely be able to sense him with whatever strange techniques she had learned: but she also had the Sharingan, which would allow her to also keep an eye on him. 

He had been working on his speed a lot lately, from training with Yamanka Tomomi to fighting in the sparring arena. He didn't need ninjutsu to ramp up his speed enough that he was able to use the very same routes the pirates were using to attack their vessel to board their own. He cleared the jump easily, falling into a spin as he hit the other deck. Prepare to board, indeed. 

The illusion vanished as Umetaro unleashed the power hidden within tengubi. He spun in an arc, and Tengubi responded, flaring to life with a solid blade of flame. A rush of flame came behind the strike, easily singeing anyone who dared come close to Umetaro. With Umetaro on their side of the boat, and Kazui holding defense on the merchant vessel, it wouldn't be too hard to keep them at bay, right?

Chakra Reactive [Katon]- By utilizing hien to channel katon into the gunbai the next stroke of the fan will unleash a small wave of fire capable of igniting clothing and causing second degree burns to those in a five meter cone in front of the user. The immolation itself is not incredibly severe and will peter out on its own after two rotations without intervention.

DESCRIPTION:
The user funnels their chakra into a blade which can absorb chakra easily. The materialized chakra is shaped like a blade whose length can change with the right chakra control. The chakra is dense enough that it becomes visible and can cut through solid rock and iron. What makes this jutsu so versatile is that one can apply elemental chakra into it, which can greatly change the effects of the technique.

As things quickly went into an almost chaotic state, Kazui would sense her teammate as he leapt from on ship and went crashing into the next. Kazui herself wasn’t the type to do such a thing out of the blue, but she needed to get down there and help him. He was so close figuring out the seal, she couldn’t have him getting hurt now.

A sigh escaped from her lips as she quickly dug into a pouch and pulled out a single scroll. Unraveling the paper as fast as she could, the girl would lay it flat onto the deck and pour her chakra into it, and in a poof or smoke, her blade would appear over the seal that was scribbled in the scroll. The girl wouldn’t waste much time, the crew members were doing their best to keep the pirates from boarding the ship, and Umetaro was taking care of them as well. Grabbing her blade the girl run along the side of the ship, cutting the ropes from all the grappling hooks and sending those who were trying to climb, tumbling back down. Without missing a beat, Kazui would take one super leap forward from the cargo ship to the pirates’ ship, landing as lightly as a feather on the end of the ship adjacent to Umetaro as lightning danced and crackled around her sword.

Dark hues quickly spun into a crimson shade as she stared down a number of pirates, both men and women as her opposition. It appeared the once oh so brave captain who led the charge seemed to have disappeared from the crowd once he saw Umetaro take to the ship and he saw that he was a shinobi. The man quickly scrambled behind his guards and ran to the lowest hatch, floors beneath the surface of the vessel for protection. It didn’t matter though, Kazui knew exactly where he was so there was no hiding.

Wedging her sword into the wooden surface of the deck, Kazui would form a number of hand seals and just as the mob of pirates went to charge her, the teen would take in a deep breath before exhaling a roar of flames that took the shape of a massive orb and engulfed them all, a few were fortunate to be tossed overboard from the impact, the rest were left to burn along with that end of the ship.

After performing the seals, chakra is kneaded inside the body and converted into fire which is expelled from the mouth either as a expeditious massive orb of roaring flame comparable to a comet or as a continuous flame-thrower. The released flames will engulf their target, and leave a crater in the ground's surface. In its comet form, this technique is capable of going as far as 40 meters. [Uchiha Umetaro]

Okay, things were escalating quickly. Umetaro was more than a bit taken aback by Kazui sudden shift into abject violence. Umetaro also knew the Fire Ball Jutsu -everyone in their clan did once you got past a certain age- but he wasn't planning on just incinerating everyone on the ship. Wasn't their stated objective to capture the captain so he could be interrogated? If he burned to ash along with the ship, what information would they be able to glean from his corpse?

It took everything in Umetaro's brain to not just stop and stare at the burning ship: crimson and yellow against the grey-blue of the ocean. This was the kind of thing they made masterpiece paintings out of. Fire truly is the way the world was meant to be...

Where did the captain go, anyways? The ship was burning, and he fled somewhere into the ship. You'd think he would have surrendered or something by now. A rampaging Uchiha Kazui was not easy to go up against. Umetaro would have made a mental note to not make her mad, but the two of them had spent the majority of their childhoods making each other furious over anything and everything. It was a little late for caution on that particular battlefield, now. 

Kazui most likely had a bead on him. That strange chakra sensing ability she had would make it easy for her, if she had gotten a good look at him. Umetaro could get the guy to talk once they found him. He had to have gone towards his own quarters: was there something he needed to protect?

The girl watched the chaos that was a result of her fireball wrecking one portion of the ship, knocking wooden pallets from the ship’s exterior and leaving the corpses burning alongside them. The flames flickered in her eyes as she stared at the dancing hues of orange as well as the smoke that quickly took to the skies, she was frozen in place, mesmerized by the outcome as if she hadn’t seen the fireball’s work a hundred times, this time for some reason it was different. Did she regret doing that? Not even a bit. Even if she had somehow managed to send the captain up in flames alongside his crew, there would be no sense of rue or any pride lost in her heart.

Nevertheless, the girl exhaled as she grabbed the handle of her blade and began stepping over the bodies and towards the hatch. "Umetaro!” She called out, as she lifted the lever and opened the hatch. "He’s down here..” She spoke, entering the opening first and then descending. "I think it’s best if you handled him..” It was clear that the reason she didn’t regret killing those people was because doing so helped alleviate her anger at least in that moment. It felt as if everything she had been going through, all the pain, confusion, and sense of betrayal, it was all released in the form of a fiery comet of destruction.

"He’s behind that door, there’s two guards with him.” The girl explained.
