After her question. Shizuha lilsten in on what Granny Shuka has to say. It ‘s not to often she get’s to hear examples on how to fight with someone knowing how she fights. Although Shizuha is mainly a Ninjutsu user she does want to try and attempt to know how to use other style of fighting and with the ability of knowing someone that uses Genjutsu it was one of the styles she was interested in trying out and maybe throw into combat here and there if needed.

Understanding what your opponent is. It’s always nice to analyze there ability before going gun blazing with techniques. Although for Shizuha he’s only good at using ninjutsu. So including in some genjutsu into a battle might throw off the opponent to a point in keeping at a distance or even better into a trap that she would create while in the process of fighting them.

"I see. I was thinking about asking around the village for help with some other style. I feel like if I can find a way to throw off the balance of the fight because of the fighting style they might forget that I mainly focus on ninjutsu and I can set them into a trap”

Shizuha’s main objective when it comes to fighting other skilled shinobi is to stall them out and try to tire them down before trapping them inside a corner by either a genjutsu or an actual trap. With this genjutsu it could work very well for what she’s wanting to try and do as well as prepare for a full out offensive if things are going towards that route.

orking with multiple styles and different varieties of jutsu was always a good thing. Though being a master of one thing and putting your attention there was often suiting and ended with the best results, it still paid dividends to learn every area of study. This was why she tried to branch out her techniques a decent amount. Genjutsu was her favorite branch of jutsu to use, of course, as she preferred to settle matters before they even began when she could help it. But she was careful to learn ninjutsu, taijutsu, bukijutsu.

"That is a very good idea," Shuka agreed. "There is a reason we encourage jounin to learn every branch of technique at least slightly if they can. Having a variety in your repertoire is very important to succeeding in the shinobi world. The element of surprise will always be the most powerful tool you have," she explained.

"There is an interesting fact for your consideration," she continued. "Keep this in mind in battles. People tend to lead with what they are most comfortable with. If someone attacks first with a punch, they are probably a taijutsu specialist. If someone first tries to entrap you in a genjutsu, they are probably a genjutsu specialist. You can use this to determine your opponent's strengths. But even more importantly, you can use this to fool you opponents. If you begin a fight with a genjutsu or a sword strike, you might trick them into thinking your specialties lie in that area, then surprise them with a powerful ninjutsu."

She listens to Shuka as she explains different scenarios on how to trick their opponent. Obviously as a Genin they would rather feel comfortable in using something they’re good at. In Shizuha’s case it’s Ninjutsu.

"I see. I’ve been wanting to learn different techniques for the exams coming up just to throw off the opponent a little more. So, I figured if I can learn genjutsu and maybe some bukijutsu I might be able to throw off the opponent enough to use a strong ninjutsu.”

She went on and explain what she meant even though it was already discussed.

"Like you said I do want to throw in a couple of genjutsu’s and bukijutsu’s with my main source of ninjutsu. I know from my own experience that I would feel comfortable using my ninjutsu over anything else. But forcing myself to try and trick people might get me a better opportunity to catch them by surprised. Like what Ryuunosuke told me as well. Use what I’m good at in return with something I’m not. In the case with him showing me some bukijutsu techniques. Use my ninjutsu to distract them as I go in and try and use bukijutsu with to catch them off guard. Either they’re going to get hit by a strong ninjutsu or get hit by a weaker bukijutsu.”

Her explanation didn’t include genjutsu as for there’s another scenario, she could use with that which could insist of instead of ninjutsu she could use

actical thought was one of the things about the battlefield that tended to interest her. More than raw strength, more than rivalrous combat. She was always someone who liked to consider her actions thoroughly before taking them. Diplomacy, battlefield tactics. They were not very dissimilar and they were both incredibly important, the best skills one could possibly hone if they cared to elevate their village and protect themselves on missions.

"I think that sounds like a very good idea," she agreed with Shizuha. The way she was thinking was already very good. It was still relatively simple layers, but that was what was expected of Genin. She would not be able to weave greater webs until she had more battlefield experience and more techniques under her belt. This was just the beginning of her journey as a soldier.

"One of the most important things you can do as a shinobi is create no-win scenarios. When facing an opponent, you want to give them a choice between two bad options. Set one trap behind and one to the side, force them to move into you and face a direct attack. Always try to create that scenario and avoid having it created against you. Having a variety of tools will help you significantly in this. If you ever need me to aid with more training, please let me know. I will be happy to help."

It was quite a bit of a conversation on what the two Yuki’s were talking about. But from the sounds of it, Shizuha had the same mindset like Shuka. Although just like what she said with the lack of experience. Shizuha is wanting to make Yukigakure a better place for the people living in it and in general to the people around the world. And the best way to do that is to think of a strategic mindset throughout the time as a shinobi for this village.

"I appreciate the help and the offer you gave me today in learning the technique as well as some other pointers for the upcoming exams.”

With that though she would gather her things before helping Shuka get back to the village before heading off towards the clan’s compound hoping that her father wasn’t too worried that Shuka was going to be rough on her.

"Would you like some help? Besides It’s getting late anyways I probably should go back with you just in case something happens.”

Shizuha wasn’t to scared but you can never be to cautious now a days with how things have been going in between the villages and some of the routes between the towns.

he training session was wrapped up and they were able to move from their current place. It was good not to try to integrate too much knowledge at once. Shizuha would need time to practice this technique and see if she could better utilize it, get warmed up, prepare for the chuunin exams. Once a training session reached a certain point, there was little more that could be learned. Information needed to be allowed to settle, to rest in the mind and become part of the person's internal knowledge. That was when it was truly learned.

Once back at the compound, Shizuha offered to help her back to the castle. Young people really did tend to have such odd perceptions of her. It was good to be cautious with the Lady of the village, naturally, but some level of caution was overabundant.

"I will be fine, I assure you," she encouraged Shizuha. "My bodyguards keep a careful eye on my position at all times, even when I am quite a ways away. Asa would never allow me to come into harm while I return to the castle. I hope you enjoy your evening and get decent rest. Remember to practice the jutsu I have taught you and come to me again whenever you need. Good job today."
