It had been a letter sent to two individuals specifically, the two Yukigakure shinobi with issues each their own. It had been briefed to her that one of them was a lackadaisical sort while one had trouble fitting in among others. Kaiya wasn't sure whether she could ultimately assist either of these two individuals.. She was neither good at motivating people nor socializing... But if she was called upon she would do her best to help, the encouraging words of the one who had asked for her assistance prodding her all the more. Agreement was given and those two notes of request were sent out the day before they were meant to meet. Perhaps sounding like a demand.. but for anyone who knew the Masahiro, it would have been impossible to picture such.

For while she was a girl wrapped in armor and brandishing a sword, her demeanor was always soft, bright eyes of blue watching with a gentleness and easiness that was rare if not impossible to find among Yukigakure shinobi, and gracefulness of movements that made her seem just as dainty and fragile as many other parts of her... Comparison to fragile plants something that had been almost a joke among her family and clan since she was young...

It was this girl who called upon them. Armored, prepared, and standing in the midst of the training field. Her weapon drawn, but only barely. From its sheath and blade into the ground, her hands folded over the grip as she waited. Blue eyes watching over the skies as fleks of snow and winter would wisp around her. She had arrived early... even trained some for the hours previous, but for now she rested and waited for these two individuals hoping silently she could live up to the expectations of those of the village and assist, even if a little bit.

The letter in truth had vaguely freaked out Hinata when he had received it. Was he in trouble? His blood was cold, well, it was already quite cold but now he was freaked out and it had gone colder. As if that were possible, either way, it certainly felt this way. The young man mustered up the courage to get dressed then for the supposed training that he would endure by this mysterious figure and once he had done so, he would be on his way.

It was a fairly short walk to the training field, the speed of his walk only delayed by his own anxiety as he eventually trekked up the snow mounds through a more cleared out road to a field... That was not really any less white than the rest of the village.

The academy student paused and looked around tentatively, before giving a nervous hand wave towards the girl standing in the snow. A nervous smile tugging at his features as he approached.

"Um.. Masahiro, Kaiya-san?" He called out, hoping that he had not just walked upon the wrong person and blatantly assumed who she was. That would have been utterly the worst, and he might have to implode on the spot.

[Yuki Kazu]

Getting a letter was definitely not how Kazu thought his day would start. The letter said that he was needed at Training Field 2 before noon. "Ugh, more work to do." The boy said to himself. It's not like he could just not show up, that'd probably have repercussions. So he gathered his stuff, heading out around an hour prior to the designated time. The walk was about thirty minutes long, mainly because Kazu was in no hurry to get there. 

Upon arriving, he saw a blonde woman prepared for battle, armor covering most of her body. She stood in the middle of the training field, so Kazu introduced himself, if only because she was his superior, "Yuki, Kazu reporting as ordered er... ma'am?" Kazu wasn't really sure what to call his superiors in all honesty. He didn't spend much time with most of them so he wasn't used to talking to them outside of missions really. Then, he noticed Hinata was there! Thankfully that meant he knew someone else here, and it wasn't a one on one lesson. He waved to the boy, though the two didn't know each other very well, it was still comforting to know someone else that was here. "So what did you call us here for?" The boy asked, trying to get this session done with as quickly as possible.

Through her peripherals the forms of others approaching would soon come… Blue eyes still focused up towards the skies as snowflakes were carried by strong winds, twirling about in a pathway that would eventually lead to the ground and their final resting place.

Two boys from the Yukigakure clan… They were all of relatively the same age but each of them differed. Though Kaiya would find faint surprise in the fact that the one she had dubbed as the more subdued in energy didn’t appear quite so much as he approached. The nervous one? Pinpointed almost immediately… The hesitation in his voice and even questioning who she was. Though easily enough, the blonde lowered her gaze to focus directly on Hinata. A simple nod given to the neutral expression of the girl and then those same eyes traveling to the other; Kazu.

Raising her blade from the snow, the point of the weapon visible once more as she’d tug it quickly out to the side, raise it before her, and in a flourish hide it once more within its sheath. Slow steps towards Hinata first with a soft yet faintly curious look as she’d inspect him, the girl’s eyes forever docile and gentle despite how she was meant to teach them…. And even when turning towards the other and giving him the same sort of looking over, all to end in raising her hand in a small gesture out to her side with palm raised as if offering her next words out..

"I have been tasked to train the two of you this session and perhaps further if we don’t meet the expectations I have set.”

Taking a few steps backwards, putting some distance between them, and her eyes moving between one and the other as she did so. Just as unimposing and unimpressive as the young girl might have looked, the gentle sway to her movements and the almost cutesy look to her existence, her voice was almost akin to a quiet dove… Phrasing more mature and similar to that neutral expression, but almost childlike in everything else.

"You are both of the Hyoton clan, do you know one another? How well?”

Hinata was the first to be inspected by the girl, and his gaze would drop submissively to the ground. He was not only shy, but not very good at interactions with people. To the point where he often - as a genuine reaction - would avoid eye contact with other people. Especially those deemed his superiors, which were the majority. At best he made eye contact with his family members, but even then that would also be short-lived. Oftentimes these things simply made him uncomfortable and he preferred to look away as opposed to feeling as if he were challenging the person he looked upon.

"I know Kazu-san." Hinata responded immediately before Kazu could even get a response in. He lingered in silence briefly before adding to what he said before. Realizing that his statement was likely too confining, plus, Kaiya had asked more than to simply say if they knew each other. Of course, they did, clans were fairly close-knit and the Yuki Clan was the closest knit of them all in Yukigakure. Though, that was what they would say, Hinata would beg to differ from his experiences in life. But, neither here nor there, he knew of Kazu as but a clan member. He knew little about the other young man otherwise.

"I don't know him that well, just that he's ... likely a cousin." As most clans were related. Though in the case of Hinata, well he didn't really know anyone that well and no one knew him that well. His clan had abandoned him in the years that he had not been in his jail cell he had not been able to adjust to normal life well enough to actually accumulate interesting knowledge about anyone in the clan itself.

[Yuki Kazu]

The white-haired boy watched as the other boy was inspected by what he presumed was their instructor. Poor Kazu thought he would've been done with these types of classes after graduating the academy. That was obviously not the case. After she was finished her inspection of the Hinata, she walked over to Kazu to inspect him. Since he was never comfortable with people, he avoided eye contact with the blonde girl and looked away from her.

Kazu listened to the blonde's statements, he remembered how sad Hinata had appeared when Kazu didn't remember him, it was understandable to Kazu though. His childhood was fairly sheltered after all, so he really didn't know the majority of his clan other than his parents. He waited for Hinata to finish speaking then began to speak himself, "Yea in all honesty I didn't even know we were related until recently. I've seen him around a couple times but that's about it. What are those expectations you mentioned though?" The only reason he asked was because he genuinely wanted to get this over with. The sooner it was done, the sooner he could go back to relaxing. Not the best source of motivation, but it worked for him most of the time.

They both looked away. It was such a peculiar reaction to Kaiya that she wasn’t entirely sure what to do with them… But rather than linger on it or question it, she simply moved on. The shy and lazy, to put it very crudely and simply, seemed to be unsettled by her presence which was a little concerning… Even she knew that she wasn’t an imposing presence by any stretch of the imagination.

They didn’t know one another well… Was that why she was tasked with helping them? There seemed to be a lot behind these two individuals that might have stumped their growth in one way or another… But rather than prod much further, the little blonde would give a nod and begin her slow steps backwards. Light sway, soft movements, the young girl still keeping attention back and forth between the two. How different they seemed… yet how they were part of the same Clan.

It was Kazu who had tried to rush things along in the end. Kaiya wouldn’t have quite known that was the literal reason he questioned it, but he did ask for information before she had offered it up.

"Satisfactory progress.”

It was a simple yet incredibly vague goal. They had to progress. In a way she approved of. Which really, could mean anything. And.. it didn’t seem like she was offering much more. The goals for either were different and she wasn’t quite sure how far she could progress them in a single session… A raise of her hand was given and the seal beneath her gloves would have given off its signature glow.

"The rules are that you can’t protect yourself, you have to protect one another.”

A blue form would have appeared in an instant, a structure stabilizing in the air and perched on nothing as it took the shape of the rapier she had been holding not long before. And then with a flick of her wrist at the boy… the target was chosen. A blade towards the younger of the two, Hinata would have seen a that formed blade of chakra whizzing towards him with the addition of her futon… Kazu’s need to step in had been outlined. And the blonde watched and waited, hand still poised in case… things went worse than she expected.

After getting the necessary seal placed somewhere on the body (usually the back of the hand) to stabilize the jutsu It allows the user to form any weapon out of his chakra. The appearance and the durability of the weapon depend largely on the skill of the user and their inane understanding of the weapon the wish to project. The projections of beginners are usually more fragile. Users can also channel chakra into their projections to repair damages or strengthen the weapon.

Hinata did not understand until Kaiya performed a technique with a rapier, a dazzling technique. Suddenly though, there was danger and it was coming towards him. He gasped and looked toward Kazu in a moment of desperation. Was he going to protect, or was he going to be too slow to react? Hinata could not defend himself, according to the rules and he was quite excellent at following rules. He would raise his arms in a cross to at least avoid severe damage to his main body he would brace himself and close his eyes for a moment as he held his breath with the anticipation of being hit.

Would Kazu step in, or would Hinata feel sharp impact? Each little millisecond that passed by seemed to scream of the latter, and he prepared himself for the worst. In this moment, he wished he could jump out of the way or do something, but he could not. Those were the rules, and his stomach turned to raw knots, painful with anticipation. He knew pain, but never had he stood in the path of pain, knowing it was coming, and had done nothing about it. Usually, his body moved to get him away, but not now.

Kaiya was vague on what her goal was, wonderful. Satisfactory progress could mean any number of things. Then there were the rules, what was the point of not allowing them to defend themselves? It wasn't that Kazu didn't trust Hinata, but enough to not defend himself? Then again, he did need to be more trusting of his teammates. 

Kazu didn't have time to think of how to protect Hinata, he simply acted on instinct as a blue form appeared. He created a block of ice to shield Hinata first, hopefully slowing down the woman attack. Then he tried to push Hinata out of the way of the attack, falling onto the ground in the process. Of course, now, he was closer to the attack. Though at least he was under it instead of directly in front. 

What was this lady's problem though? Why was she so serious about something so simple? It was one thing to attack, but to attack without warning. That just felt wrong. Then there was Hinata, just accepting the rules regardless of how it would affect him. What if Kazu wasn't fast enough? Did he trust Kaiya not to fatally injure him? Still though, she was his superior. He couldn't argue with her methods, not yet.

Bracing himself. Closing his eyes. A lot of trust suddenly put in his fellow clansman and he looked pretty nervous… Kaiya had to imagine they really hadn’t built any sort of relationship before. But. Now was the time. Despite the words of Raimaa ringing in her ear about placing trust in others, Kaiya had her own beliefs in building those relationships and senses of trust, even if just among teammates…

And so the die was cast, Kazu had to jump in. Which he did. A block of ice thrown up and the rapier piercing into it, which was enough of a nuisance to her attack that the blonde would have rushed forward. Pressing the rapier through the barrier ending up being needless, the blue chakra expelling slowly from the air in what almost appeared like a mist rising above. Hinata thrown out of the way and Kazu hitting the powdered snow beneath while she raced atop the scene. The unseen seal upon the back of her hand glowing again, a broader form and creation of a nearly invisible strand.

A shield was formed, simple in design and rounded the whole way about, but it too was thrust down towards Kazu, fallen in the snow and maybe not enough separated from Hinata for her liking… A jerk of her hand, an unseen string wrenching that thrown shield upwards, the maneuver meant to scoop Kazu off the ground and send him flying just a bit further from Hinata.

With that shield soon dissipating much like the rapier had… blue haze rising through the air into nothing and a simple glowing figure then in her hands. A whip. Thick and long, jagged edges marking its length into what would be a rather painful strike….

It was swung around the back of her still standing atop that ice, gaining strength and momentum, before whipping forwards towards the older of the two boys.

DESCRIPTION:
It’s a simple jutsu that requires no hand seals and very little chakra. It allows the user to project a thin string like ninja wire that can connect to the projected weapons allowing the user to control their direction to some degree.

Hinata was tossed out of the way, and he didn't land very gracefully at all because his eyes had been closed in nervous fear for what was to come. But, he opened his eyes when he collided and rolled. Just in time to see something pick up Kazu and toss him away. But Kaiya wasn't done and Hinata was already standing up. He saw the whip as it tried to hit Kazu, he would use all of the speed and might he had - because he certainly did not have a lot in the way of techniques - to put himself between Kazu and the whip. He would shove Kazu out of the way if he was standing, otherwise he would put himself directly over the top of him boxing him in with his arms, palms against the snow to take on the impact of the whip.

There had not been hesitance. Because it had been something he was ordered to do. Normally, Hinata was horribly hesitant in almost everything. But, not when it came to plain orders. Kaiya had told him to do this, so he did, unabashedly. He would protect Kazu even if it meant to the death, even if it was reckless or stupid he would do it. He didn't have what Kazu had, he couldn't use Hyoton yet he was getting closer to utilizing it, but not yet... He only had simple academy techniques and in this case, none of them would be all that useful.

Kazu had successfully thwarted Kaiya's attack on Hinata, but that left him open to be attacked. Naturally, Kaiya used that opening, using some kind of shield to toss Kazu further away. He didn't resist the attack, not that he had a chance to. Thus, he was flung farther from Kaiya, but closer to Hinata. That being said, the girl wasn't done. Similar to the rapier and shield, a whip appeared in the girls' hands. Hinata was standing by now thankfully, but Kazu was still on the ground from when he was launched by the shield.

He didn't get enough time to stand either, as Hinata would rush over to him and put himself in between Kazu and the whip. Kazu was boxed in, if he moved it could cause Hinata to get more injured. But if he stayed still Hinata would be harmed for sure. There wasn't much Kazu could do in this situation, but he wasn't just gonna sit there either. Without needing a handseal, he used Sun Tōketsu [Snap Freeze] to form a senbon, using Kuikkurōtēshon [Quick Rotation] in succession with it to get in front of Hinata. Then, he fired the senbon at Kaiya's hand. It might not hit her, but it would at least be a distraction. Not to mention, it would still be used to protect Hinata, which was the objective she gave to Kazu.

DESCRIPTION:

Utilizing chakra in the feet, ankles and legs specifically. It is a small amount of energy, but used precisely on reflexes and timing. This technique is gauged this way. When timed, the user can twist themselves abruptly out of the way of an attack. Like a speedy side-step, but a rotation of one's body to the side. A spin-move. This is only attacks in an immediate vicinity(three meters) anything else is too big an attack. Usually Taijutsu, but sometimes this technique is effective against close-range ninjutsu.

NAME: Sun Tōketsu [Snap Freeze]

RANK: C

CHAKRA USAGE: Low

CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu // Kekkei Genkai

ELEMENT: Hyōton

DESCRIPTION:

Without needing a hand-seal, the user will create a single senbon ice needle in the palm of their hand and send it flying towards their opponent. When the ice comes in contact with a person or object, it will snap freeze whatever it touches in a half a meter radius. For example, if it comes in contact with an arm or leg, it will freeze the limb, same goes with a sword of Ninja tools.

They were trying, at least. Protecting one another quickly rather than not doing anything at all. There would have been some part of her that wondered if Kazu would give up on the assignment as it seemed too difficult or not worth the energy, he had been presented to her as a more lackadaisical male. Hinata she assumed would put his all into it… but in the moments to come her concern towards him would come to play. Self sacrifice without hesitation..

The older girl’s actions went through without a hitch. Flinging the boys separate from one another so they might not already be a single target together. Her armory to dissipate into nothing while a new weapon formed. A whip. Jagged across the edges, practically thorns along its length that would have torn through attire and flesh without resistance. It was flung towards Kazu, rushing through the air and begging the other boy to stop it.

Which… he would, one way or another. His body thrust in front of the other, protecting him as a human shield, even as that weapon was sure to tear him apart… That didn’t mean a flicker of approval wouldn’t rush across the girl’s face. Shielding his comrade, Hinata had given Kazu some motivation to do something more than sit there.

A senbon thrown her way, one of the Yuki Clan’s namesake. Frozen and rushing her way, the whip to vanish into those fluttering particles before meeting its target, the rise of another soft blue light to come instead. A gauntlet to gather about her hand, small bit of armor created by her chakra, even if it overstated her own armor.

A soft sound to come, one of surprise even in that little coo of a voice. The [armor projected] would have been struck by that ice, immediately overcome with that frozen burst, and the chakra to die away as she made no use of upkeeping it.

Did leap from her perch though, heading for the two boys and a hand taken to grasp the rapier at her hip and bring it from its sheath. Readied and obvious, to come towards both targets she hadn’t bothered separating that time.

"Both focus. Realize you work together.”

Without calling out an individual name, Kaiya wanted Hinata to realize that he didn’t have to just throw himself in danger. His blocking had worked well, they worked together, but she wanted to make sure the intent was to work together, get openings, and continue rather than sacrifice.

Her forward momentum hadn’t halted and would have given them at least enough time to regain their bearings. Whether that to run while she gave chase or to remain where they were, the young blonde girl would have needed a new target to bring them together… If they hadn’t gotten up, Hinata was sure to find her coming down upon him, rapier stabbing in a strike towards his knee.

Hinata flinched a bit, but several things happened that allowed for his safety. He wasn't expecting it from Kazu. But he was glad for it. He didn't really want to be hit, after all, it definitely looked like it had hurt and he had doubted for a moment that Kazu would help him. But now the doubt was at least marginally gone. Hinata was still hesitant with this particular exercise. It seemed dangerous, especially when he had no access to most well, anything as an academy student.

Kaiya spoke as she rushed at them, the two of them now adequately paired together. Hinata stood up, stumbling before he reached down to offer Kazu a hand. He had an idea, and it was stemming right from their instructor's words. They work together.

"Fly at her," He whispered to Kazu. He was fairly strong, he could throw the other Yuki towards Kaiya as she made her approach. If there was even any indication that it was alright, Hinata would use the leverage of pulling the other up and put more strength into it spinning like a top before tossing Kazu straight towards Kaiya to stop her approach. Though Hinata would hardly stay still though, he would string some hand seals together before he would begin his approach towards Kaiya, the goal was to flank her, if he could while Kazu went from the front.
