Kuchisake has adopted the name to lean in to her "nature". Appearance HEIGHT: 4' 9"/144cm WEIGHT: 84lbs/38kg     Pale grey skin and pale purple hair, Kuchisake consistently had an incredibly dark and creepy aesthetic that she’s leaned into over the years. She keeps her hair at neck length, with banks over her forehead that reach to just above her eyes. She has pitch black, beady eyes. She often paints her nails black as well, keeping them in sharp points.      When it comes to her attire Kuchisake usually wears a pair of dark brown boots, with capri style brown pants that are designed to look crudely patched together. She also wears a black long sleeve shirt with frills at the end of the sleeves and a white collar. She also commonly wears a pair of black gloves. If not wearing this she has an array of other outfits in gothic lolita styles. Personality Nindo: the sound of heartbeats is deafening silence     Kuchisake is someone who rarely talks. To add to her rather creepy aesthetic she has learned to keep herself quiet as often as possible, hoping to make other people forget that she’s even there. Kuchisake is obsessed with the macabre, anything that has to do with death fascinates the young one. She is the type known to pick the limbs off a spider or keep a dead animal in a spot where it can safely decay. She actually has a connection of skulls she has taken from the corpses of dead animals she’s found across the village or while out on missions.      She’s incredibly kind to people that don’t mean harm to her, but can be sadistic and cruel the second she sees someone has a threat. Despite her kindness, she doesn’t often actually interact with others. Preferring to keep to herself and her own desires. She does however take time out constantly to make sure that those she cares for are safe and happy. She doesn’t talk, but she often listens. She likes to give gifts to the people she cares for, however, do to her macabre nature she often gets gifts that exacerbate the creepy factor.  History     Kuchisake was born into the shinobi life. Her father has been an active shinobi for over 30 years, and her mother has operated as a major member of the shinobi medical corps, working specifically as a mortician for shinobi for the last ten years. Because of this Kuchisake had been pushed towards the life of a shinobi since she was young. The girl joining the academy the day she turned 6 years old.     Kuchisake has always been a good student, in school she was regularly near the top of her class when it came to things like written exams. Her abilities in combat and practical exams were not nearly as impressive however. The girl also had a hard time making friends. She had, thanks to observing her mothers work as a mortician, developed an incredibly macabre interest in the dead. The girl would go as far as to draw on her own body to make it look like she had been dissected and cut open as a corpse. She also kept herself very pale in an effort to look corpselike in her day to day life. The girls parents seemed fine with it as she still did well in school and seemed to have an interest in medical arts.      During her time in the academy she also became fascinated with puppetry. nonliving things being animated like human bodies. The girl would begin work on becoming a puppeteer when she graduated from the academy, using her knowledge of dead bodies and biology to assist in the crafting of some of her own puppets. Designing her first puppet to look like a human hand that had long been dead and devoid of blood, the girl was incredibly proud of her work.      After her 6 years in the academy the girl would finally graduate at the age of 12. She would also immediately make her way into that years chuunin exams. Though new to the shinobi world, she was convinced that she could hold her own given the opportunity, and she showed as much in the first round. An incredibly difficult test that actively encouraged the students to cheat on it, Kuchisake was actually simply well educated enough to answer the questions without resorting to cheating at all. While not in the spirit of the first round, it did mean she passed. And looked rather impressive doing so. The second round was more opportunity to show of her brains as she was put in a small group of shinobi and made to solve a riddle. A riddle which could only be answered by the working together of different kinds of knowledge. Kuchisake in many ways struggled to work together with her team, arguing with them every step of the way, but the group still managed to solve the riddle by the end.      The final round involved combat, and unfortunately Kuchisake found herself incredibly unprepared for it at this level. Her puppets were a skill that a lot didn't have experience fighting against, but Kuchisake didn't have much experience fighting at all, and in the first round a Taijutsu specialist showed her how truly unprepared she was by scoring a surprisingly quick knockout. Eliminated from the exams, but not without impressing many around her, Kuchisake still wasn't ready to graduate, but she returned to Amegakure with more skills than she had left with, which was a start in the right direction for the young kunoichi.  Fighting Style     Being a puppeteer, a lot of Kuchisake’s tactics in battle revolve around the use of her puppets rather than her own strength. She tries to end things quickly, which often involves careful observation from the distance. Thanks to the relatively small size of her puppets, it’s easy for her to get them close to opponents without necessarily giving their positions away. When this happens Kuchisake will try and strike from the shadows and use her poison to incapacitate the opponents before coming in for a quick kill.       If she’s unable to end the fight quickly, she will regularly use her puppets for quick maneuvers, darting around the battle field and attacking from multiple directions. She will constantly split her puppets up so that an opponent has to split their focus. While many wouldn't count Chakra Control on that list, but it all comes in how Kuchisake visualizes this in order to control it. Chakra flows through the body like blood does, and Kuchisake visualizes the concept of slowing her chakra down, as if one was slowing their heart rate. Because of this, they greatly slow down the rate at which they expend chakra to perform their techniques. Comorbidity [Medical Training]     Growing up in a morgue, Kuchisake has had many opportunities to view and interact with dead bodies. Her father has had her be his assistant plenty of times, and as such it's given Kuchisake a knowledge of the body beyond her years.
