[attr="class","skullbody"]It was a pleasant morning in Yukigakure and after having left her cabin for the morning the young girl would decide to take a walk through the village making her way to one of her favorite places. Kosetsu coffee a small cafe located within the village near the entrance to the town. As the girl made her way there she’d see a bevy of people walking the busy streets men and women cleaning the streets and shops opening up for business on the quiet morning.

As she made her way inside the shop seemed to be abuzz with customers like normal but still somehow the atmosphere managed to remain calm as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee tickled the girl's nose whilst she waited in line eagerly awaiting the taste of a freshly brewed cup.

And when it was finally her turn in line she would order her usual cup of coffee with two sugars and cream and would take a seat beside a window as she mixed it together and would take a gander out the window watching the morning snow fall to the ground. After a moment of letting her coffee cool she’d take a light sip and get lost in it’s flavor.

"Ahh~” during such a time the girl would take our a small journal she kept beneath her jacket and a pen and would begin to jot something down, sketching something together as she basked in the atmosphere of the morning. [break] [break]

Hinata did not make it a habit of grabbing coffee in the morning, but it had been hard to find things to distract himself with recently. There were no academy classes, he had graduated. But, he was not yet to wear the headband. He had not been assigned a team quite yet, and things were in a bit of a limbo state. At least he had unlocked his hyoton finally, which he had been rushed to be examined immediately. Now though, now he was waiting, he wasn't sure for what. But he was waiting. In a quiet limbo state, occasionally taken up the government for a few more tests here and there. Physical and metaphysical ones. Hinata hated it all, but as obedient as he was, well... He wasn't one to protest.

So, coffee day. He had woken up early, as he often did and popped into the shop for a warm cup of coffee with a bit of honey and milk. He curled up in a corner of the shop, the cup cooling off in his hands almost immediately. It was still warm, but the longer he held it the colder it became. And in general, his aura was particularly frigid and unwelcoming. A sad side effect of his Hyoton that was in a hyper state.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the patrons made their way inside of the facility Jun would keep to herself with her artwork in her small calligraphy journal occasionally lifting her head up to take a sip of her coffee. As she kept her head down out of the corner of her eye she’d spot a young man who seemed to be about her age and would give him a wave. "Hello there!” she’d remark looking to him as she kept to her book but then something would strike her for just a moment looking back at the boy she’d run her hand along her chin and then speak up.

"Excuse me...but have we met before you seem familiar.” the girl would state he looked like someone she knew was he an attendee at the academy with her during her time there some 6 years ago? She had only graduated a few weeks ago but surely she’d remember someone so distinguished.

"Hold a moment is your name Hinata?” Hinata was the name of one of the boys in her class he was on the taller side and stood amongst the other students but never spoke very much but she wasn’t sure they were separated after about a year or so of classes and she never saw much of him since she was on a slightly more accelerated course than the heterochromatic haired boy. "I had a boy in one of my classes for a short spell with that name...you...look an awful lot like him.”

Hinata wasn't expecting anyone to walk up to him, if anything most people made a decent swerve around him when they came into any kind of radius of the boy as the air around him was distinctly colder, and nobody wanted to be indoors and colder. Most people sought reprieve from the outdoors by coming into places like this. Hinata, of course, could not feel the coolness of his own aura, but he knew it existed regardless of whether he knew how it felt or not. So, when the girl approached him - he didn't immediately notice as he was staring out a nearby window, holding onto his cup of coffee, not yet having taken a sip.

His attention averted towards Jun when she approached and spoke.

"Yuki, Hinata... Yes." He responded dimly. He was shy, and not particularly overly warm when it came to speaking to others. It was out of fear and caution though. The young man was always a bit paranoid that he was going to get some kind of spy put on him. He knew he was already being monitored and watched. Someone approaching him could just be some kind of test more often than not.

But, he recognized the girl. She had been in the academy not that long ago, and they never really held any conversation but they were of similar age. Albeit, not a similar trajectory. Almost no one was of 'similar trajectory' in truth.

"You're Jun?" He remembered her name, vaguely, at least her given name. Definitely not her family name.

"It is you…” she said with genuine surprise of all people she hadn’t expected to see him here, thinking on it now how she could have forgotten him. He was so...conspicuous with his scar and his height, she looked to him fondly however with a pleasant smile and a welcoming demeanor. "How’ve you been? You’ve gotten even taller it would seem, no need to be shy come sit, sit…” she’d say gesturing for him to come over.

"I was just working on some calligraphy while enjoying some morning coffee, how are your studies in the academy going?” the girl seemed to have a good deal of energy, possibly even more than the sugar she had in her cup of joe, clearly excited to meet an old acquaintance.

As she spoke she’d finish the last touches on her drawing the sketch having taken the shape of a fuinjutsu seal that reads the word "weight.” Obviously it wasn’t active but it looked beautiful each brush stroke a painting made and as she turned about the delicate artwork could be seen on display in her notebook, a testament to the girls practice in the artistic nature of fuinjutsu.[break] [break]

Hinata was already sitting, but perhaps Jun had meant to get closer to her? Awkwardly he would do so, practically curled in on himself. The moment he would sit across from Jun though, she would likely feel the air shift, the area around them becoming significantly colder, plummeting in temperature. It was a surprise that frost did not regularly form on the pale boy's features. But it did not as if he were immune to the cold.

Mismatched eyes would stare at Jun a moment, but only at her neck. He didn't make eye contact, he wasn't very good at that sort of thing. It made him severely uncomfortable.

"They're not. I passed my graduation exam..." Hinata murmured with a shy and withdrawn admittance. He would take a few sips of his sugary, creamy coffee before placing it down on the table. His fingers gripping the edge gently, not so tightly that he would crush the cheap wooden table, but enough to hold onto comfortably mostly for support for the discomfort of himself in these sorts of situations.

"But, no team assignment. So I'm... Somewhere in the middle," He explained politely, glancing at the bubbles forming at the top of his coffee.

"How are you doing Jun-san?"

She’d flip her page and would practice a different seal this time it was one she hadn’t been familiar with the seal for smoke, making certain that each piece of the lettering was nice neat and elegant. As her companion got comfortable in his seat he spoke of how he completed his graduation but was waiting for his team assignment, which sparked more enthusiasm from the girl who had yet have their final cell member.

"Oh congratulations! We’re waiting for the third member of our cell as well so by some luck we may end up on the same team!” she’d say excitedly turning to him with a smile, before noticing his mannerism, but before she could say more she’d notice a chill in the air.

"Oh my did it just get colder?” she’d look over at the glass window and would notice as she spoke that she could see her own breath and would begin to rub her shoulders and zip up her jacket. "There must be a draft...winter is rather unforgiving this year?” the youth would think. She’d then take a sip of her coffee to warm herself up, letting out a pleased sigh as the heated drink warmed her up.

"So what brings you here?” the girl would ask, as she looked to him reclining in her seat and stirring her drink, her notebook still opened out on the table, her art still in view. "I just so happened to stop by to start my morning before heading off to train.”

"That would be interesting," After all sometimes teams were created from the graduating pool. But, perhaps if a team was already missing someone it would be filled in with a brand new person. He wondered though if he would be at a significant disadvantage in comparison to the rest of the team, seeing as they were most likely more experienced and likely bonded to each other. He would be a brand new inexperienced genin. He could only wonder if it would work out, or if he would be placed somewhere else entirely. He was terrified that it wouldn't work out, that he would be sent back to the academy for more monitoring by the scientists. He had to do well...

With that in mind, he took a sip of coffee.

Her mentioning a draft and pulling her jacket up and a little closer Hinata's face turned ever so slightly redder than before.

"Oh, sorry... It's..." He waved towards himself awkwardly, sheepishly. "I radiate cold, all Yuki's do... Mine is apparently worse though." That was thanks to the experiments, but not something he would tell Jun. It was an underground state secret, and even Hinata at his rank was sworn to his own secrecy.

"Just wanted something warm to drink and relax, don't have a lot to do nowadays." His coffee was getting a lot colder now though. He glanced at the book then, still hadn't made eye contact with Jun once. "That looks complicated."

"Should we end up on the same team I’d like to have as much knowledge as possible.” the young tactician always liked being two steps ahead and upon hearing of such a foreign concept to her she wanted to know exactly how it worked. The youth would click her pen and would eagerly hide her face behind her journal. "Go on tell me everything!” her amber eyes would pop up towards the young man as she took a sip of her coffee, setting it down and ready to get to work.

"Kekkei Genkai," He explained his voice remained quite meek but at least he was speaking. But, of course, Hinata was a fairly polite boy with a good set of manners, even if he was shy. He didn't want the girl to think he was being rude, so he continued to force himself to converse even though his natural instinct was to run away.

"Touta combines three basic elements. Ours only combines two - suiton and fuuton." Hopefully, that was enough of an explanation. She could easily find a book or scroll over the Yuki Clan at a library most likely. The clan had originated in this village, and their abilities were just as biting as the winds outside. Though for most Yuki, they had adapted to feel almost no cold at all, and in truth, Hinata found the outdoors pleasant whilst others might seek to bundle up.

"I don't. It's usually just around me, not far enough to cause any damage." He watched her finish her coffee, she sure drank fast. Odd excitable girl when she told him to tell her everything Hinata panicked a little bit, his shoulders slumping forward he wasn't the best at this sort of thing. Far from it.

"I.. I don't know what to tell you. I can barely use it."

"Yuki clan, Kekkai Genkai...yes...yes...resistant to cold, range minimal.” she’d pop her head back up but keep her ears open to make sure she wasn’t missing any information that he had to relay. "Does it have a name your release that is?” she’d ask, wanting to get one last bit of information.

But just when the going was getting good he stopped as if there wasn’t much more for him to say. "Oh good good, I’ll be sure to stud these later! If it’s not too much trouble would you by chance allow me to visit your clans compound o-or perhaps you could train with me. I was just about to head out anyway, but I’d love to document more of your people’s fascinating kekkai genkai.” she’d remark with a wide smile towards the meek boy, she was absolutely giddy with anticipation.

And I want to be there to see it, you never know when it might be necessary.” the girl was thinking of the possible strategic possibilities that she’d be able to take advantage of having someone like him on her team who knows what they could accomplish. "Hyoton." He didn't realize that the Yuki clan was such an unknown thing, at least in terms of powers and the like. But, maybe it was just Jun? He didn't know for sure, but he didn't know a lot of things 'for sure'. The world was mostly a mystery, and people were too. It didn't help, though, that Hinata had spent almost ten years in a jail cell interacting with no one other than following commands adults gave him for the sake of their experiments going well. It was far from the best situation, and it certainly destroyed Hinata's ability to communicate effectively as one might at his age. But, he was a good soldier. Very capable of following orders, though not much else.

"I don't have that kind of... ability to give you access to the compound. Perhaps you can ask aunt Shuka-sama." She was not the official leader of the clan, but she was the leader of the village, and frankly, that superseded the clan's authority by a long shot. Jun could get permission from her directly if she were brave enough to interact with the woman.

At this point with all the scribbling and high energy excitement about learning more she was reminding him more and more of those scientists that had kept him, and exuberantly kept documentation on him. Hinata wasn't all too pleased about it.

"Ah, yes Hyoton good, good.” she’d keep penning it down but would look over towards home when she was told that he couldn’t get her into the Yuki compound. The youth would frown but she understood. "Unfortunate but I understand, my clan wouldn’t exactly allow me to invite strangers into our lands either, perhaps I’ll take your advice and speak with the Yuki Lady at a later point.”

In response to her request to train he agreed and this only lit the girl up even further. "Ahh, Excellent I’m quite excited too-” the girl was then asked to put her pen away. The young man seemed a bit uncomfortable by her constant scribbling, this made the girl's face sink a tad less for his well being and more so for herself.

"My pen? Sure not like it has a place on the battlefield, at least not yet. My apologies if my questioning was a bit eccentric...I tend to get excited about pursuits of knowledge.” the girl would put a final period on her notes and would place them back in her jacket. From there she’d stand up from her seat and would look to her companion one final time.

"We’ll meet at the training grounds in 1 hour. I'll need to go home and grab something, I’ll see you then and please do be punctual.” she’d then exit out of the door with a slight pep in her step as she made her way home.

Hinata had come across some easily excitable people in the past, but Jun had to take the cake. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it did make him a little bit nervous. He needed to figure out a way that he could just feel confident and comfortable in the situation. But, currently that wasn't so much the case he was just meekly smiling over at the white-haired girl, uncertain of how to properly respond. Interactions with people, it was just not something that came easily to Hinata, perhaps once upon a time but in truth he had a very adverse reaction to people anymore.

She was in a hurry though, clearly wanting to get to the training area - whichever one - as quickly as possible.

"Alright..." Hinata never had an issue being punctual, but if the girl insisted on it he would be extra punctual. There were a few beats and he would reach out with his hand just a bit in question she was trying to run off on him or something. Was she really that excited about getting to train with him? He was barely out of the academy, and he had a few ideas of how to do things related to Hyoton but not that much.

"Er... Sorry.. Which training field?" He asked awkwardly.

"Oh, right I was so eager I forgot to mention.” she’d stop by the door and to look back at him. "The training field here in the village, it’s not too far from here just north of the academy.” the girl would say with a smile. "I’ll see you then Hinata.”

After sometime the girl would head home and arrive to the training field with her staff strapped to the back of her jacket, giving her staff a few quick twirls before stamping it into the ground. She’d then take out her notebook and would begin looking it over. "Now then let's review these notes...Hyoton a Kekkai Genkai that allows the users to passively emit an aura of cold air in the environment that lowers the temperature of the area around him...range unknown capabilities unknown.” the girl would get lost in deep thought, with her notebook having several questions written underneath about many of the other things that she didn't understand.

"It feels like there's so much he could do with that based off the assumptions that I could make, but how does HE use it. I should watch him carefully during our training session to see what I can discover.”

Jun would then remember when she first discovered her own special hijutsu and how much she was fascinated with learning all she could about it, even if it ultimately led to her downfall. However after that moment of excitement she’d shut her book and put it away, in her back pouch.

"It's only a matter of time before he arrives, and it'd be best not to have this out, He seems to dislike it when I take notes. I can't imagine why?” the girl would then smile, seeming rather giddy as she waited for him to arrive, he still had more than enough time before being late.
