"the lone wolf dies".
"A man who can't uphold his beliefs is pathetic, dead or alive."

RESOLVE

Once he came back, he saw the distress in her eyes, which was followed by a respectful bow to him. Iruhi said she failed him, and he sighed deeply, shaking his head. "A beast like that can be intimidating. Perhaps I should've started with a D-Rank Mission. That's not on you Iruhi." he sighed, glancing over to Pakkun. The miniature pug approached and nodded. "No more wolves, Toshi-kun. The situation is now under control." he reassured the man, and he nodded to the dog, before turning his eyes to the girl once again. "Of course you can't allow yourself to freeze in battle. If I wasn't here, you might have died or seriously injure yourself. However, that's why we usually send squadrons to missions, so they can protect each other. What I did here is what every shinobi is expected to do, so don't grovel on that." his tone was serious, yet there was a hint of kindness there.

He knew deep inside that, if it wasn't for the fact that she was his daughter, he would be more likely scolding the person, but even the man known as a Demon had a soft spot for the child he neglected most of his life, and only now was being able to build bridges. "In due time, you will steel your resolve. This is what your team is for." he added with a firm nod, turning on his heels after that. "Now let's go, we need to report the success of our mission. And you are still the Captain." he added as he started to walk back towards the town.

Pakkun would approach Iruhi and nudge her with his head. "Come on, Iruhi-chan, it's ok." he would say in a rather kind tone, trying to lift the girl's spirits, even if just a little.

"You can train a dog with food. You can buy a person with money. But there isn't a man alive that can put down the Will of Fire. Some things will never change. The Will of Fire will never be extinguished"

He forgave her, but she still felt a lingering sense of shame as she made her way back with her father back to the village, and she didn't feel it was right to really say anything. She messed up, and she would stew and reflect on that, and over the passing day would steel to herself that next time, she'd do what she had to do, no matter the circumstances. Still, it was rough, and it seemed to be something that she kept to herself, for a while. That was until she came to try to hold her father's right hand with her smaller left one on their way back. The mission was completed, and while she didn't prove herself in this instance, not yet anyways, she thought about training when she returned home. Prove her prowess and worth further. Keep on growing and developing to that next threshold. That sounded like a plan.

"Thank you for taking me out on my first mission Tou-San" She says with a soft shade of pink on her cheeks. While they walked home, she wondered what he thought of her, what he was feeling all the time, considering he sounded stern, and solemn, and likely had so many high expectations in the future, though he didn't voice any and such. He seemed interested in her as an individual, and she in a way was kind of afraid of his thoughts and impressions. How couldn't she be? He was a man from a fairly prominent high position, and he said that he was her father. That was something that was blowing her mind, and she couldn't wrap her head around it.

Especially seeing she didn't talk to her own mother about it yet. "The next time, I'll do better." She promises, and with it, she looked to head back home as she experienced slowly growing up, little by little as she sought to advance her career as a Genin of Konoha.
