The evasion of the fall had given Yanji a bit more confidence, allowing him to be slightly more comfortable in the upper heights of the trees. His small beady black eyes jutted back down towards his companion whose laughter echoed throughout the training grounds. Yanji was unsure what was so funny as he only served to look down towards the boy writhing in laughter with the same aforementioned blankness that arrested his face prior. Before long his acquaintance had managed to collect himself before uttering something unintelligible due to their distance apart before departing altogether.

With a curious shrug the greenhorn genin diverted his attention back to the task at hand. He would slowly rise from his frog-like position and begin slowly walking up the side of the tree. Yanji would repeat this for a few more hours before the concentrated stride became easier. For added difficulty Yanji would now jump between trees, sticking himself horizontally to their trunks to train his focus for instant chakra control. He would save his upside down repetitions last for obvious reasons, but once he got around to it the following attempts weren’t nearly as nerve racking as the first time.

Several hours would go by again and the sun would finally begin to set over the training grounds. Yanji would now be found drenched in sweat as he finally descended back down to the ground from the height of the trees. After walking back to the base of the first tree he started with, Yanji would collect his large scroll before plopping onto the ground in exhaustion. He would lay there uninterrupted as he stared at the canopy above with his chakra mostly depleted after an entire day of concentration. He had wasted a lot of chakra before boasting any efficiency, but he had done it, he’d managed the tree climbing technique somehow. He also supposed he owed a bit of gratitude to his acquaintance, maybe if he saw him again (assuming he would remember who he was), he would thank him for his helpful advice.
