Okingshi watched and waited, crouching with his hands firmly planted on the ground. He was biding his time to manifest his technique to see what his friend would do. The sudden appearance of wild grass growing over the arena aroused Okingshi's attention, focusing his senses acutely on how it swayed in the wind. He let Ichi know that he was ready with a quick nod, before swallowing the rest of his fungus whole - 'Hoshi Gazo [Spore Image]' - As Ichi pulled kunai with explosive tags from his pouch and threw them to the side, five medium sized mushrooms sprouted between the two genin.
With the explosions set off, Okingshi watched as a fire began to light the grass on fire. The fumes produced from the burning grass and spore scattering mushrooms intermingled, combining into a dense haze of psychedelics in the center of of field. Okingshi did nothing to protect himself from them, quite the opposite - breathing them in deeply. The effects of both were almost instantaneous as Okingshi felt the full brunt of them.
For a moment Okingshi looked into the air, as smoke wisped all around him. In the depths of the smog, he saw faces swirl into existence; laughing and crying out. Colours seemed to grow in vibrancy, especially those which contrasted their neighbours. Snapping his head down to meet Ichi, Okingshi looked at his Kusagakure peer as they attempted to attack. The intoxicated Gure stumbled to dodge the kunai thrown his way, almost tripping over in the process. In response, after steadying himself, Okingshi lethargically grabbed his scythe from his back and pointed it towards his so-called opponent. "You almost got me then!" Okingshi said, while trying to abate laughing out loud. His focus shifted from Ichi to his hand as something caught his attention; the backside of his hand that held 'Silence' manifested a grinning mouth with teeth and all. "Woah" Okingshi exclaimed, as his eyes widened from the sight.
Once the spontaneity of the experience subsided, Okingshi dropped his arm down to his side. 'I can't be distracted, i have to focus on Ichi!" he thought. The genin then began his attempt to charge at Ichi. Each step was a challenge in of itself; he felt sluggish and the closer he approached to Ichi, the more the world tumbled around him. By the time he managed to get within reaching distance his vision was so distorted and warped, he couldn't possibly attempt an accurate swing. Even so, he would try. As the scythe came across the front of him in an arc, Okingshi wasn't sure if it hit Ichi. How could he hit Ichi in such a state. Completing the swing, Okingshi held his weapon horizontally in front of him in a defensive manner - only to witness his weapon bend flaccid before his eyes. Freaked out by it's shape, Okingshi hopped back a few steps to try and comprehend the situation unfolding before him, also awaiting Ichi to make his move.
Word Count: 496 Weapons Used NAME: Chinmoku | Silence RANK: B-Rank TYPE: Offence ELEMENT: N/A RESTRICTIONS: Okingshi Personal OWNER: Gure, Okingshi DESCRIPTION: Chinmoku is a war scythe that can be wielded either one handed or two. The handle is roughly a meter and a half long, made of a dark oak wood. The bottom half of the handle is wrapped in an weathered white fabric and the very end is capped with metal. It slightly bends until in it meets a metal reinforcement bar. This bar runs parallel with the wooden handle up until the blade.
The blade is roughly 80cm long, made with steel and is covered in a spider web-like green mould. The inner side is a sharp edge that curves into a fine point. The other edge of the blade is curved yet angular in appearance, with a change in angle half way down. It also has a slight hook shape before meeting the handle. Opposite the blade on the other side of the handle, a small container sits connected to the blade by a small hose. •ABILITY: -Breathless- The small container contains organic matter that cultures a mould; which then grows from it, down the hose and across the blade. Okingshi is required to clean the handle to stop the mould growing down its length. The mould itself appears green and web-like in appearance, easily removable by a slight brush or when cutting an enemy.
Should someone be cut by the blade, even the slightest nick; after two rounds the mould quickly takes effect as it festers in the wound. Once this happens the mould begins poisoning the blood and nearby tissue, depriving it of oxygen. The skin surrounding the wound becomes very sore and tender, turning bluish in appearence. While any blood from the wound turns a deep crimson purple as the mould feeds on its oxygen.
However a deep enough wound or a series of smaller wounds that remove half of the mould from the blade will induce symptoms of hypoxia. While at first it manifests the same as a minor cut, after five rounds it will start effecting a larger portion of the skin around the wound/s, turning it extremely sensitive and blue; while a shortness in breath, coughing, wheezing and a fastened heartbeat take effect. This can be quite debilitating to their stamina and durability
The mould can be removed from the wound by sanitising it, either washing it thoroughly or burning it. Once all the mould has been removed from the blade, Okingshi requires two rotations to cultivate the mould across the blade again, it can not be grown through gure techniques as no technique has or can be developed to culture the unique mould. Jutsu Used NAME: Hoshi Gazo[ Spore Image] RANK: C CHAKRA USAGE: Low CLASSIFICATION: ninjutsu ELEMENT: N/A HANDSEALS: 3 DESCRIPTION: The user grows a specific hallucinogenic Mushroom. Once grown the Fungi releases a mind altering spore that if inhaled by a target would make anything the victim sees as whimsical and vivid. Objects and people within the world would gain whimsical and unrealistic features(think Disney) that shows a non-threatening appearance. An example would be sword or armour with humanoid features such as a pair of lips and eyes. The spores travel about 10 meters away from the mushroom before hovering within the air. The strength behind this jutsu doesn't lye within the hallucination itself but in how the target would release itself from the visions. Unlike other Genjutsu that could be stopped with Genjutsu:Kai, in order to stop the effects of this jutsu one would need a medic or be a medic to remove the spores from one's bloodstream. For example, the poison extraction jutsu. The spores will metabolizes within the body in time, as such the target can simply ride out the effects the jutsu, which only last 3 posts after being exposed.
