Northern fist monastery Open hearts, open hands ORGANIZATION ORIGIN: Country ORGANIZATION HEADQUARTERS: Country/City ORGANIZATION PURPOSE The Norther Fist Monastery operates as many other such places do across the world.  It is a place for orphans to find a home, and make something of themselves.  At the monastery they learn practical skills that will allow them to live self sufficient and free lives where ever they may chose to go once they've grown up and moved on. Because this monastery has grown up around and withstood so much violence throughout history, a great deal of emphasis was also placed on self defense.  This eventually evolved into the modern school that teaches a balance between mind, body, and spirit.  ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE The monastery is governed by the will of a council of 7 great an elder masters who all grew up and have spent most of their lives living within the monastery's walls.  Of these masters, the one with the strongest Kenpo is decided to be the grand master, however they are still just the First among Equals on the council. Below the Masters are the teachers, grown adults that have mastered several styles of Kenpo.  These adults that have decided to dedicated themselves to the monastery instead of moving on generally follow the direction of the masters, and organize the students into classes.  They also act as instructors, teaching classes, administering most lower level belt exams, and generally being the force that keeps the monastery's day to day activities flowing. Below the Teachers are the Students.  They are broken up into different belt levels based on experience, but every student from White to Black belt are expected to follow the same rules, and are considered the same 'rank'.  From lowest to the highest the belts are ranked as such:  White, Yellow, Purple, Red, Black.   Black belt students are not technically higher rank than other students, but they tend to be the most experienced, and also tend to be selected for special tasks like assisting the teachers in demonstrations.  In spite of the special treatment, teachers take care to watch and correct monks who develop too much pride over being singled out for such a privilege.  ORGANIZATION HISTORY The Northern First Monastery was built several hundred years ago, long before even the blessing of chakra was delivered to the land.  In those times humanity still fought each other, and natural accidents and illnesses still claimed lives.  While some medicine was used at the Monastery, over all the place was built and founded specifically to help alleviate the growing problem of orphans in a world threatened by war. It started off humble, begging for scraps from local farms in exchange of taking care of untrained and hungry mouths in their communities.  Over time the skilled hands it grew started their own farms and began to build strong stone walls to live within. Of course, the world never has found peace.  Chakra came upon the world and everything only got worse.  Wars were more destructive, clans grew into villages, and the supple of orphans ever increased. The Northern Fist Dojo re-founded itself and dropped all pretense of religion shortly after jutsu started appearing.  It devoted itself to self defense, and protecting the children in its care.  Over yet more time this new habit of strict self defense training began to produce skilled fighters, and secured the walls of the monastery. The school teaches the virtues of compassion, patience, and honesty, however most of its focus is really on physical conditioning, and martial training.  Monks and nuns of all ranks work 7 days a week, with no concept of vacation, or weekends.  Being isolated from the rest of the world, however, most also don't know anything else, and so grow to enjoy their work. ORGANIZATION SPECIALS Due to the intensive training provided by this monastery, anyone who completes their training can expect to be an expert martial artist.  Taijutsu is the singular focus of all combat training done at this school.  Likewise, talent on a farm is second, as bodies are hardened and muscles toned through endless amounts of physical labor, and martial training.  A graduate of this rather grueling experience should select the following as one of their Special Abilities: Physical Conditioning: After years of nearly constant and very intensive training, ____ has ascended beyond their physical limitations. Their conditioning has granted them rock solid muscles and steel hard bones. They have far more stamina than most people, and can withstand surprising amounts of abuse before they fall.
