Spread about the village, a list of dates and a brief description had been provided, written in handwriting on paper and adhered to various surfaces. It vaguely described the need for a combatant and trainee partner for a Genin - and a few dates and places that the person would be. At that place, would be Hotarubi: he needed people to fight. The Chunin exams was coming up and he needed to learn a bit better about his own skills, he who had risen - but had some time to go. He had avoided putting his name out there in case other people saw it... and he wanted to do all of it discreetly. But, he was in one of the more traditional training grounds... he felt like he was worth that much. Fighting was something he loved and lived for, to give domination to others: even better. But, he was.... kind of human. And humans needed socialisation, and that was not something he had had in recent time given he was no longer welcome in his old home - forbade it by his own father. But - in order to get any good at what he needed, his clear idea of doton mastery was on the cards. That required him to get down into the dirt... he hoped someone would show up.

Careful What You Wish For

We're no hero inside, we're the monster you need.

Well, everyone is entitled to one good scare. The girl thought as she looked over the flyers. At first, she paid little to no attention, but as she continued, the sheer number got to her curiosity. While there were many others more suited to be a trainee for a Genin, even their own sensei, there has been a noticeable dip in her absence regarding Genin and applicable team leaders. Sure it irritated her but it was better she lent more a helping hand at times, not like she could do much else at the moment. The girl made mental note of all the applicable dates, times, and places, prior to putting the flyer back. Surely if the kid was this desperate enough to do this, anyone - or anything - will do. The girl stretched out her limbs and cracked a small smile. I'm going to enjoy this a little too much. She has to admit, the kid has way more spirit than her for doing this.

Who could be as bold as this to send out calls to potentially anyone like this? She didn't question it too much, but, it did make her all the more curious to find out who. A time close to know seemed available and the teen took it upon herself to head to the local. Getting closer, she was only partially interested that the boy took a more traditional training spot, it wasn't that impressive, it was better than putting civilians at risk at least. Once she completed her journey and was at the other end of the lot. Her eyes honed in on her supposed trainee, a rather large fellow, but with the looks that he had a strength more than an average kid, despite his build otherwise. The way he held himself up was rather notably similar to another she had met when she was a genin. My, my. How the tables have turned. She just stood there, watching him, taking in every detail she could, there wasn't a point in hiding for he had requested a combatant, not an assailant.

The girl took a few, slow steps closer and closer. "Really bold to shout out to an entire village, never know who you're going to get." Kunikunosaku called out, never taking her eye off the kid. Although she reckoned this kid was older than her, she could guess his current potential was lacking. In her eyes at least, she could still call him a kid. "Two questions, why are you doing this, and do you believe in the Boogeyman?"

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

He continued waiting and a bit more time would pass but eventually? Someone did show up. That was good. There was a yelp of internal victory as someone had taken it on board. In truth, he had not expected that anybody was going to show up. It was a small, meek woman though. Was that any good? Was he being misogny- misgnyishic? Thought she was weak because she was a woman? Yeah. That one. He had seen and been fought with many Kunoichi Yamakira who had certainly earned their stripes. It was when she got closer that Hotarubi began to reassess the statement. She looked... horrible. His head tilted - quite significantly so as she spoke. She was small, but small usually could be telling. If he wasn't compacting himself, he would also have been substantially larger. His eyes narrowed at her. "The fuck is up with your face?" She looked like a misaligned puppet show gone wrong. Or moss had grown over her face? Maybe mould? Either way, even Hotarubi had to admit it rustled a few of his jimmies that she looked like a horror. "Err. Sorry. Hotarubi. I'm doing it because I need to be strong, and that depends on who you're asking. Folklore an' that..." He did hold his gaze, and drop it. The body horror wasn't for him. But - fighting? Sure. Good lord he hoped he hadn't attracted a psycho. Was this a bad idea? Maybe it was. But at least he'd learn from it!

The first statement out of him cracked a smile on her lips, Oh you'll find out. Kunikunosaku made a cant of her head, and she debated whether to answer straight away. The Mikatakujira looked to the boy again up and down, as she scanned the boy who pronounced his name. Hotarubi... she felt like the name was familiar. Like the glowing clan Hotarus? The girl was pretty sure that after his next comment, he has no idea who approached him. "You might either be too young to remember or too old to give a shit..." Kunikunosaku stated as she allowed black tendrils to come poking out of her skin and arms, showing her red jacket wasn't really a jacket. "Do you remember who Yōsaiyama was?" She was now making a small chuckle as she brought a hand out in front of her, pulling the threads back, "Mikatakujira Kunikunosaku, now your trainer, no buts about it."

The girl clenched her fist and the black tendrils protruding from her body snapped back in. "Appearnces can always be deceiving, Hotarubi. The first lesson as a Genin, always expect the unexpected." She waited for a response, quite honestly, she was already pissed where she was for the past couple of months and now, she was angered all because she looked so small and frail that she was assumed to be weak. "If you still doubt me, go ahead, punch me with your full force, right here." The girl turned her head to the side and pointed at her cheek, "Then if I take it to your standards, wanna feel how hard I can go?" The girl just let out a quiet giggle, quite entertained by the thought that Hotarubi thought her weak solely on who she was.

"If you truly want, I can summon someone who can actively help you. Maybe they'll like you enough to take you on as a signer? I don't know what you're training for, but if you're scared, I can give someone to lend you a hand. Regardless, you want a competitor, when are we getting started, Hotarubi?" The girl stated, still leaving her cheek open for the boy to strike at.

The first Lady of Takigakure no Sato? Who didn't know the person who created the village? It did become evident because he returned to a normal stature. She was of Yosaiyama's bloodline? "Mikatakujira." he repeated. The other noble clan in the creation of Takigakure no Sato: they dually held the title with their own respective skills, but Hotarubi's was stronger. It must have counted for something but he was met with an unease and almost... disgust? The moving tendrils around her, not that he could accurately describe what it was - living, off her. It upset something in him, and if he weren't made of earth he might've thought that his mouth was dry. "Bit early to be pulling rank?" Hotarubi didn't like authority that much when he hadn't had his ass handed to him. She might have been a Mikatakujira but he was a Yamakira, and their ways of life was clearly different. When she offered her cheek to him initially, Hotarubi looked confused. Was this her part of the unexpected? "Eh?" His voice showed it, too. "So be it. You can have a go on me next." Hotarubi would throw a hook out at her, a very wide angle - provided she hadn't desired to move, his hand turned - earth changing shape and turning into a flat hammer like surface the same size as her head. She wasn't being hit with a regular hand, oh no. It held a larger portion of weight than Hotarubi liked to admit, but the idea wasn't to kill her, just to knock some sense into her mould-brain. Still, it wasn't a pleasant experience for anybody involved and he didn't want to have to take anybody to the hospital. Before the presumed impact, she would hear him speak. "I don't need a summon to beat people." he would really try to put emphasis in the speed of his hand turning while he was throwing a punch. That had been his focus lately, changing himself - like her - as was required of the situation. Shinobi were tough. This was almost unfair, because he was going to remain an earthen boulder and not feel a damn thing - did he feel a tinge of regret for her? Nah. Damn Mikatakujiras. He heard about her, good. Now Kuni doesn't need to explain anymore if he knows about the First. Still, she wanted to observe all the emotions she can get out of him. What she took great pride in was letting the tendrils travel free for a bit, she wished it evoked more emotion out of him, but it was pretty much normal for shinobi to have a much calmer expression, a more composed state was desirable in a shinobi anyways; the squeamish were always fun to watch. The reaction when she offered her face to punch was unexpected. But to be fair, there aren't a lot of people who did offer such a thing, size difference included.

Was it wrong for her to smile when he accepted, probably, but that was what was on her face when he did. The look of his fist was rather odd but she knew exactly what this boy was. He wasn't from the Firefly clan, he was a Yamakira. One of the great cofounders of the village, mighty as a mountain, fierce as the former mercs they were. However, her prior experience with another, well, it made her blood boil. The girl got what she requested, a wild haymaker and despite her shinobi instincts crying to dodge, she remained in place, taking the full blow. To say it didn't hurt would be a blatant lie but it was a lot less than when she fought with Takeshi. The weight behind the strike and the speed behind it was pretty damn hard, for anyone else. Still, her face clearly deformed slightly and threads on both her neck and face tore. She remained standing in her place. Slowly looking back after his follow-through with a half smile on the good side of her face. The threads rapidly went back to work to replace her neck and facial features with fresh tendrils.

After the quick reformation, Kunikunosaku made a small hand clap. "I always wanted to pay Takeshi back, but I think you'd do just fine~" The Mikatakujira looked at her arm and the tendrils that had protruded early came back out as she decided what to do next. "I'll be fair and just hit you normally." The girl stated right before she moved her foot slightly behind her, chambered her fist, and punched him square center of the torso region. Provided he stayed in that burial state of his, she'd most likely punch a hole through his chest, well, even if he wasn't, the chances were extremely high, she wasn't holding back, exactly how she told him he didn't. If she got lucky, maybe even a slight lift but given what she knew of their hijutsu, that was a long shot, she'd just be happy with a blown torso, Takeshi survived it, so why shouldn't this kid?

"Oh shit-" He had expected better than that and he'd only went and fucking killed her, god damn it - her face and throat were fucked up and he stepped back a few, wondering what on earth he was going to do. He couldn't lose his shinobi-rank already! But she hadn't fallen by that point, and he stood there in waiting, body frozen in a position of his arms being up passively: and she responded. The smile, firstly something that nobody in pain would have done, and like they had their own wretched body. "People don't do that." Ignoring the fact his own body was made of earth. It certainly worried and disconcerted him, though. But, he was glad she was alive and OK. He'd offered to let her do the same and that wasn't an issue so he waited while she... repaired... whatever that meant. But when she spoke and moved into her own punch it took him too long to understand what it was she'd said and as he started to reply, she had punched him. "Takeshi?" His blood ran cold while he was pushed back. Hotarubi was a heavy individual. Four times than the average human male, so he'd recalled. It demonstrated awareness of his unique situation... if it was the one he was thinking of, they were the creator of the group - that he himself was almost never a shinobi because of it. He had to take some steps back, nearly falling back - regaining his posture by the use of an arm going out to push back against the floor. He stood up: looked down. Hole in his chest where earth was meant to be. "The Yamakira? You have beef with Takeshi? Me too. Fuck that guy." His chest began to close up from all around, the hole growing smaller visually as he used some earth to move it around. He definitely didn't weigh as much. Hotarubi looked behind him, seeing indentations in wood and bark where his stones had effectively become projectiles from her punch. "You're pretty strong?" he crossed his arms at her. Still disconcerted by how she wasn't dead, but he could move along that body horror for now. He hoped.

In all seriousness, the punch had both the impact power and speed behind it to make a bloody mess out of most people. She would have never agreed to this if Kunikunosaku didn't harbor an unfair advantage, but when the punch came it wasn't really that ability to offset the pain. Kunikunosaku was no stranger to being decapitated. Why her first meeting with another genin on her team quite literally saw her decapitated. Usually, those would hurt drastically and slowly mitigate over time. With her boosted defenses, it was so much easier to ignore the pain. And the sheer amount she could ignore could win trophies. But, clean decapitation honestly hurt less than messy, partial attempts. While she was more than certain this wasn't the boy's main goal, it still hurt like hell. If she would have fallen, she would have aggravated the wound and only made the pain worse. It was already an active trial to remain composed but a few seconds was all she needed to kick-start the threads to repair and mitigate enough of the damage to start ignoring it.

When her turn came, it was fast, faster than what she was capable of back when she was avidly younger. It was night and day to compare her now with her genin self, just like it was to compare Hotarubi with Takeshi. But she did so anyways, it was quite fun to play role reversal. She was quite proud of her feat, not only pushing but by small technicality breaking the Burial Technique they commonly used, Kuni's eyes merely hyper-focused on the hole she made, bonus points making the unmovable mountain skirt back a bit. It pleased her a great deal knowing she outdid her former self by eons. Though she still had to watch it, while she was certain she can go fairly rough without the fear of injuring these mountain boys, just how rough can each individual go. Well, today seemed as good as any.

Resetting her posture to take in what the boy was gearing up for next, the Mikatakaujira was unbelievably pleased to see the boy move his earthen body to repair the damage, and quite truthfully if the girl had blood running through her, she would have blushed at the strength compliment. Now she knew why tearing through that girl's shoulder was relatively easy. Didn't she lose the whole arm? Kuni couldn't remember, that day was so emotion-filled and fast... not to mention a distant memory now.

The raised intonation at the end did make the compliment less impactful and more of a factual statement. "You could always find someone stronger, but we're kinda spread thin... surely you can settle for me unless you want someone with a better chance of accidental death? Kind of selfish, if you ask me, especially since I came out of my way to answer your call. I'd seize this chance to train whatever you want without fearing you'll hurt someone. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. Evil Doesn't Die; It Changes Shape.

It was a nice feeling that the Yamakira decided he could be good with just her. She had doubts from the punch needing such an augmentation boost that this was going to be fair. Granted, her version of fair was extremely skewed out of years of fighting and years testing herself against the strongest of opponents in the fiercest of challenges. She wondered though, what was his desire, every shinobi wanted to grow but did he have the conviction, given he was a Genin, there was the question of how would attain a higher rank, how far will he go to take the next shot? She found it kind of cute he was so timid. or was it abrasion, that he continued to doubt her. She knew firsthand, regardless of rank, organic matter was malleable compared to stone. She had one disadvantage, although, she was sure enough that things will be different this time.

When asked whether she won't die, the Mikatakujira just grinned. Mouthing the words, "I promise." It was odd answering the question of double negatives, her only workaround was to reinforce the words she stated. Then came his desire, he wanted, craved to fight. To get the experience. What was curious was the fact he wanted to use his hijutsu without repercussions. Do I have to actually put up a full challenge? She was rather hopeful that doing so was unnecessary, that the skill level of someone of equal strength was needed. She shouldn't be as confident, as she was only slightly better despite ranks above his own. She wasn't as well-rounded as Jōnin, her skills were more specialized. So, she can still deliver what he desired, put she didn't need to adjust too much. "So be it." The girl confidently stated, narrowing her eyes in anticipation. The boy bowed a few times and she felt at some point she was taller than him, but only for mere seconds, she didn't fancy adjusting her height, not a matter of she couldn't but a sentimental matter that this would be Kuni's max height given she was only 4'10" at 13. It was a bit a shame she didn't adjust her height, as the boy became much more familiarly demonic.

All she did in response was let the black tendrils out of her body, flailing around her like snakes on a temper tantrum. "You tell me what experience you want." She slid back as she did ten surprisingly quick hand seals before charging forward, bringing an arm ready to punch, but she seemed a bit far back. The tendrils around her arm spiraled around her fist before a massive whip, almost a demonic arm shot out from her fist. The girl let out a laugh and if the demonic tendril shot through the boy, immediately upon piercing through the tendril broke into multiple threads, all of them them trying to wrap around him tightly. If her maneuver worked, she'd quite literally try to throw him, forgetting the fact these behemoths weighed so much more than an average human.

Hotarubi admitted: it had been the first time that he'd used this form, he'd seen it in his minds eye but hadn't actually actualised it. It wasn't like he could do it to any regular folk, and his brother wasn't available either given their own situation regarding becoming a Genin. Besides, Hotarubi wanted to extend the gap as long and far as he could between the two of them. He himself had never been on top... "You can pretend I'm that fuck Takeshi for now," Hotarubi grinned. "I wanna fight." The blackened oni-like structure that he'd adopted wasn't slow, but it was heavy. She took the first shot, and he got to see in reality what the Mikatakujira had in their arsenal. His eyes were so widely open as he stared, his first true combat experience. This was adrenaline rushing, thrill seeking behaviour at hand. If he was in a human form it would have already been over. She was effectively trying to turn him into the head of a hammer, and would find that it would be a lot harder to lift him - much more than what she would have expected for Taki. But even still, she would lift him - and his grin disappeared. That was not cool. But, he found himself enamoured by her, even if creeped out. "You're so cool-" His voice betrayed what his appearance would show, and his form crumbled a bit more as he started to get lifted off the ground. He pointed at her with his five fingers, palm parallel to the ground. Out of it, without handseals: five pellets shot from his body and at her. Again, a first time of him using the technique. Where did he try? It was for her center mass. Had Hotarubi been more developed, had he been smarter rather than brutish: there were methods of metamorphosis that could have been better to use, but he was still in learning. She was out of range, so how did he get in range? His right arm started to form into that of an axe: so that he could try and slice off the tendrils at the root. But - he would be mid way into the air before it was even attemptable. This technique can be used with up to 5 fingers at a time to increase its effectiveness. An important note is that the larger the user is, the more powerful this technique is. Kuni thought as she looked at the blackened oni-golem thing in front of her, he was definitely talking big, but easily her language. If he wanted her to fight him like he was Takeshi, who was she to deny it, after all, she did state she would accommodate to his word. If he truly wanted this fight, it was fine but the girl did wonder how the boy would fare, but the thought quickly faded. The Yamakira were just like her in a way, living but dead, well, sentient. Either way, she didn't hesitate to make her first move. The Tendril she unleashed was so perfectly executed that if he hadn't been in his earthen state, Kunikunosaku might have gone back to solitary confinement on the grounds of killing a Takigakure nin. Wouldn't even have count as a training accident, just immediately straight to jail.

He was heavy when her tendrils moved to hurl him. By god he was heavy, but Kuni was able to get a bit of him off the ground. She was focusing so hard to throw him, she missed his comment. It truly would have earned him a grin, maybe a taunt; but nothing was returned, nothing besides the small grumble, "Heavy fucker!" Her comment was instantly met with the piercing of stone, embedding deep in her chest and her tendrils recoiled faster than they launched at Hotarubi, just for her to place her hands over the holes. By the time she realized that her hearts were still intact was the time she noticed Hotarubi's axe swing towards the tendrils. Rather, where they used to be. Had she been so absorbed trying to move him and her concern over her hearts that she lost sight of the world around her? It certainly seemed so as the tendrils quickly pushed the pieces of stone out of her and reformed to appear like no damage was sustained. Kuni pounded a fist on her sternum and within her, her hearts began moving in erratic directions, harder to damage a moving target and if this kid wanted a full-on battle instead of a training spar, she was going to treat it like one.

The Mikatakujira raised a single hand in the air as tendrils shot out to form two clones besides her, just like her, they were made by threads, but unlike her, they paled to her arsenal. Each of these black clones raced to strike at him from either side with a chambered punch to strike their hardest at him. The girl herself just weaved a set of thirteen seals, "Jigoku no tsume [Hell's Claws]!" She yelled out before slamming her fist into the ground. Being a sole, her ninjutsu would reach Hotarubi before the clones even could, and like earthen spikes, several hardened black tendrils shot up to skewer Hotarubi, if they were to succeed in puncturing Hotarubi, the clones would change from trying to punch him to jumping at the boy to ensnare him in a multitude of black threads, all while the girl herself was left with her fist still in the ground, maintaining the spikes so the clones had time to bind him in a rough net of threads.

By expelling some of her their threads a user will create a rough clone of themselves. They have a lifespan of roughly three posts, and can be made in fairly large numbers. Like many elemental clones they are unable to use anything bar Taijutsu. When the clones either dissipate or are destroyed any surviving threads will attempt to return to the user.

By focusing the Doton chakra within through weaving the seals, the user slams their fist into the ground to activate the jutsu. During the entire duration of the jutsu, the user is to maintain this position due to its nature. In a 50 meter radius, the user can launch a multitude of spikes created by both the tendrils, strengthened by the Doton chakra utilized. Only a meter wide at it's base, these tendrils can extend upwards to 5-meters, dependant on the users' skill in Ninjutsu, they can summon anywhere from 3 to 7 of these hardened spikes, all pointed to eviscerate and tear the target apart. Their skill also varies the speed between an average shinobi jog to a movement that is nearly as fast as an eye blink.

Even though Hotarubi was distinctly a person of lesser intelligence to others, even he noticed that she took some time to check her own body: and for the Yamakira, he who saw things in binary strength or weakness identified that there was something to target should he have wanted to go further. They were so used to the mannerisms of their other Yamakira (and something that Hotarubi had been subject to for a long time) is that if they wanted something, they took it. If there was a weakness to be exploited, the other Yamakira would find it and exploit him. Most noticeably, Hotarubi. That same sense passed itself down to Hotarubi, apparently. "Got something in there? A little mini human?" Hotarubi sneered, he had the internal imagery that there was something piloting whatever this skin suit was - and it was extremely cool. It was like something out of a mangaka. When she called him heavy, he gave a toothy grin. "Yeah!" he took that as a compliment of pride over his weight. That fun and joy from his voice vanished a bit when she formed more clones, he held his axe high - aiming to try and bring it down on her head, but her ninjutsu was faster. Yes, he would be skewered: but he would simply thin out his own body to increase the range to his limbs, and like a standing axe - it would begin to fall from the joint of his shoulder where she was and if she didn't move, would be bisected. He was being a lot more lethal now, in belief that she was invulnerable, made up of tendrils, or whatever nonsense it was: but she was like him. It made sense that the other noble clan of Takigakure no Sato would be like this. Immortals, at heart. Did he worry about being skewered? A little bit - but there was more relief and superiority over his bodily composition than the concern. The concern of being tied up, being unable to use his abilities - a fuinjutsu that stopped him? That he didn't like the sound of, and nobody could tell what was up another ninja's sleeves. He needed more Doton techniques. Because the substance being manipulated is part of their bodies, it uses less chakra than its counterpart. The size and durability of the construct is restricted by the amount of earth/stone the body part has and the amount of chakra used to make the construct.

Evil Doesn't Die; It Changes Shape.

He was observant and what he said did get a chuckle from the kunoichi in an otherwise tense situation, it wasn't odd, to her, if she laughed in combat. Kunikunosaku still stuck to the plan and he seemed rather upbeat for in all essence, proving unbeatable to Kuni's initial plan. That of course meant even if just simple training desperate measures HAD to be taken. After all, her parents did oddly name her "Last Resort". Even in her retreat during her planned attack, Kunikunosaku watched as it dawned on her she messed up somewhere, watching his axe extend to enormous lengths, clearly not out from the fight.

The Mikatakujira had a quick flash from Takeshi. Using her whole body as a weapon, prove the world the monster she was and the Doton hell claws lowered into the ground faster than hell calling destiny back. It did appear that Kuni was bisected, but upon closer inspection of those mere seconds. The Kunoichi split her body, literally separating herself right before impact, hence the claws retreating. But her clones had him ensnared by the looks of it, and the girl's smile was seen as she reassembled herself on his extended axe, standing on top of the limb with a delicate, almost inhuman balance. She started walking the extended arm like a balance beam. Out of instinct, she started to repeat the words of Takeshi to Hotarubi with unique, personalized touches. "Do you understand why It was only the second part of your reactive plan that managed the draw a reaction? It’s because you stopped thinking like you are normal and used to your advantage the ability you possess." She weaved on a recognizable seal and her tendrils hardened around her body, taking on a subtle mix of tendril and stone-like appearance. She progressed her walk to an all-out sprint, moving down his arm with a clear difference of rank, experience, and power.

"Now show me, lumbering golem, if you have what it takes to live in our world. Will you lay done in the face of a superior foe or will you fight?" Upon finishing her words, Kunikunosaku was close enough to swing an earthen-chakra-enhanced kick to his face. It wasn't intended to be a fight finisher, no way a kick of a lesser technique to the Burial technique would win her a fight. But the fact it was so wide open was a chance she could not miss, one of the things she truly wanted to do to Takeshi. She swung her arm up as her dagger shot out from her arm into her hand. "Don't die." Chakra engulfed the blade as she allowed herself to fall to the ground behind him, swinging her blade and the incoming chakra wave arc vertically. Most likely freeing him but she assumed that maybe repairing all that damage would tucker the kid out, making her think just how the hell she was gonna lug this boulder someplace to recover. Did she have a chakra pill to give him?

The Special Jōnin had a lot to contemplate about, including the fact she used up a sizable amount of chakra in such quick succession. It wasn't enough to inhibit her but it was definitely a not to keep in mind. She just knew her small dip paled in comparison to what this kid was probably doing, especially after all that, she didn't kill him, right?

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

Description

This provides greater defense against attack and will also strengthen their arm to increase their striking ability. Like other Doton based jutsu, it is weak against Raiton attacks. It should also be noted that this version is much, much weaker than the Taki clan's true embodiment technique.

Employing the use of chakra flow, the user runs chakra through their swords, extending both the reach and cutting ability of the blade while allowing the user to fire crescents of chakra whenever the blade is swung on command. This released chakra is capable of great destruction as these projectiles are capable of completely penetrating large stone pillars and still travel in their intended direction.

That was. Ew. The feeling he felt earlier was back - though it was cool, the reality was that she was this fucking weird thing made up of... tendrils. Nope. It tickled the part of his mind that was not used to the bodily horror, even if he knew the same atrocities would be performed on the people he killed - he didn't pay that too much mind but having the front row seat to the stranger things was... unnerving. He dry heaved for a second. She did reform herself, causing him to stop - and she was atop his... large thing... "Thanks." He appreciated the feedback even if it wasn't working out the reason behind his success. She was telling him, be more of himself: rely on his inheritable traits. It was something to work with, and that was all he wanted. That blasted technique. That inferior form. Most Yamakira knew of it, and didn't like it - it was like poorly copying and imitating them. One might have construed it as a compliment that one wanted to be like another: but they didn't. At least, that was his own experience of the technique. The grin from his face was gone. "Aw hell no-" he started to reform - but he was slower to the jump. Or her jump more specifically. She bisected him back. He lost control of one side of his body, and sighed internally. The "lumbering golem" thought about what to do, whether to knit itself back together, or else. Reforming and reconnecting costed a lot of chakra - pulling it back into himself. Or he could do something entirely different. The latter occurred: it was a taxing thing to do, to have to rebuild, so he did the next best thing: one side of the rock turned to dust. It started crumbling away, until the other side fell to the floor. The side that apparently his consciousness was in control of, and the clones would have nothing to hold down. The main disadvantage of the technique was that he couldn't do anything to her while in this form, and the time it took to turn back into rock and able to harm someone was time that they could spent preparing and attacking them whilst they did turn back, but it was a side effect he would have to deal with as he began to reform in a much smaller version of the giant he had been moments earlier: still the same style of appearance... except much less menacing as he was now half the size, smaller than before - having only half of the rock and dust to work with. Maybe it was time to try and do a bit of Taijutsu? He was going to be much faster without all of the added weight humans normally had - it was worth a try. Provided she didn't stop him from reforming or changing his mind, he would race at her to attack. This dirt has no offensive capabilities whatsoever and is used to slip through places a human body normally can’t or through phase through attacks. They cannot phase through liquid-related attacks nor can they actually attack while in their dirt form. As such, it is more suited for reconnaissance and espionage purposes.
