Landing behind him, Kunikunosaku turned towards Hotarubi after reflecting upon his condition, eyes focused greatly on his bisected form. The Mikatakujira rose to stand tall watching as one side of him turned to dust and the other fell. Oops... I think I did it, fuuuuuuu- Kunikunosaku's mental thought was cut off by watching this boy not rebuild but replace, and in doing so, he became much smaller. I hope this isn't fast mode... The girl thought as her tendrils pulled the dagger back into her arm as she examined Hotarubi. Instead of kicking him while he was down, she was just thankful he was still kicking, even if it meant he didn't get the whole experience he craved. Crossing her arms, she waited as the tendrils of the clones crawled back to her. Not restoring her energy, but rather reloading her kit of expendable threads. "Some enemy shinobi will be dumbstruck you can reform, for training purposes, I'll stand in place since my move set as you've seen is more designed to kill than offer a fair fight. That said, I am not sure if you are like me in the sense of having an extension of your arm shield your face, or simply you could have cut loose the arm you saw me run up on and regrow a new one, that is why you are a midget now. But, I'm guessing, you are still learning how to use the full extent."

Helpful tips (?) coming from probably the least helpful person was something. Even if she didn't understand all the Yamakira hijutsu. She watched the small monster freak run at her with clear intent on continuing to fight. She had to wonder if her more fight worthy moves had opened up now that he at least looked lighter. She dashed forward in his charge to trick him to commit earlier into an attack, force commitment if you will. In this moment, she ducked low to deliver a succession of kicks, the high meant more a faint while the real kick was more at his open lower legs. Upon succession, Kuni would transition to stomping on the ground to release a scythe and deliver a powerful rising slash, breaking the entirety of the scythe in that singular blow, hopefully getting the air she needed. Finishing her combo if the opportunity came by throwing a long limb to wrap around him in mid-air. The Kunoichi raised her arm before snapping it to the ground. Flinging the Yamakira straight at the ground he called home before coming to rest.

Sure, being connected to the earth might have made him stronger, but the more violent her attacks, the more she need him on the ground in case he was on death's door. She wasn't done with him yet. Afterall, he ran the show, Kuni just played a really good antagonist.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

In this case the weapon made is a scythe with a one meter blade. Because the weapon is made entirely of rock, it is heavier and therefore more difficult to wield.

It was the roundabout method to being fast: Hotarubi had principally ensured that his weight didn't stay his speed, in a fight that made so much difference if he couldn't catch someone running away from him. So, no weight: more speed. Not that those thoughts were going through his head, he was more worried about his own chakra usage at this stage already. He had a lot going for him, but it quickly waned away in the face of any actual danger. She was providing helpful fight tips, to which he sort of stared. He would have paid more attention if she hadn't been doing the tentacle hentai whatever it was in front of him. "That's perverse." He pointed out. It was weird watching something get sucked up into her. The Mikatakujira were fucked, and he was saying that as a person who was made out of dirt and rock. "Ah. Makes sense. I'm also not looking forward to someone who continues to attack when I reform." He wouldn't make reference to his own smaller stature if she didn't. Some people were better equipped to deal with it, and that was why he was working on his ability to form into physical sizes quicker: as well as his own metamorphosis abilities in general. "You're right." Hotarubi was not yet thinking like a shinobi who had every means of his body at his disposal: someone like Kunikunosaku, he could imagine had been a tentacle freak for a really long time and as such had learned all of the associated benefits that came with it. He, who had to spend several years working in a noodle shop, had certainly not done as such. He might've been older than her (not that he knew that point either, since He did continue his rush at her for the intent to smash her face in and had no intention or desire to not commit. He missed - given she had ducked and would out-Taijutsu him, the kicks, didn't bother him: barely moved him. She seemed intent on bisecting him again - just to see what would happen. He continued trying to attack her, much of it being defended. Up he went; and back down. His arm would thin out on the left side: becoming more of a stick, aiming to impale her with it in her midsection, and for her own sake, he hoped that she did not get hit by it. If they are successful, or chose to: can make the end of the piercing weapon grow into a mace like weapon about a foot in diameter, effectively ballooning an individual with spikes from the inside out - resulting in a nearly sure death. This does not specifically require a piercing weapon: but is best a weapon first placed inside someone for this technique to be effective.

Was it humorous that Kunikunosaku was offering tips to improve Hotarubi as she was going all out? Yes, very much so, but it had a deeper meaning, one the boy seemed to be picking up on, even if he was a little slow to the trigger. In the mind of the Mikatakujira, this was probably the best advice she could give him at this very moment. She didn't really know what was going through his mind as she connect her attacks to form a rather difficult combo compared to if she actually practiced taijutsu. Still, the fact she got proper lift only made her contemplate more about what tools were now available to her. The joy of slamming Hotarubi back to the ground, while it probably gave him strength, great joy knowing she was absolutely crushing him. What she wasn't ready for was his rush as soon as she gave him back to the earth.She was too full of herself to track all the movements and because of her lacking tracking, she suffered the impaling. She felt her core swell as something was growing fast and she sighed as again she had to split herself apart, revealing a full network of threads guarding three fist-sized orbs. Not showing they were hearts, but they could probably deduce that considering the grown mace forced her the separate entirely. Again, she came back together around his arm just past the mace.

"There you go, faster learner than me." Kuni gripped the rest of his arm in a vice grip and used her own strength and the mace as a counterweight to pull whatever of Hotarubi out of the ground. Leaning back further to gain more leverage, Kuni grunted as she weaved six seals and outstretched her arm, a wave of Doton-enhanced tendrils would consume the boy if successful and bind him tight all around, their grip getting tighter and tighter as it became clear this jutsu was meant to crush through anything grasped till that thing was unrecognizable. Of course, being made of stone bought him a bit more time, but she doesn't know of anyone being caught in this jutsu.

DESCRIPTION:
Similar in concept of Hellish Grasp, but a variant of the application. Upon completion of the handseals, the user shoots out hundreds of tendrils up to 10 meters that tightly ensnare and bind a target. Once bound, however, the user unleashes Doton chakra through the tendrils to crush the opponent to death. Capable of crushing even blocks of iron, the point of the jutsu is to utterly crush the opponent. If one is capable of great speeds, the tendrils cannot move faster than the current rank of the user at full speed.

Even in spite of his defeated positioning, poor attacks - he had been right once and had it been anything other than who he was currently facing (unless it was another Mikatakujira!) then they would have had their insides ballooned and finished off with. Thankfully, if he did it quick enough it would be a fantastic addition to his ongoing arsenal. But it did not, and he pulled a face that even from her own figure - split apart, disgusted him. It wasn't even hidden in the way that he showed his dismay. It creeped the hell out of him, which was a lot for a man who was made of dirt and earth. But his was ... natural? Ish? He would be thrown around. He was even trying to see how his own constitution fared against physical acts. Of course, it didn't hurt him at all. That would have been a miracle if she had figured it out! He broke apart. But, even though he broke into numerous fractions of what was formerly himself, she would have cause to not be too worried. An irreverent hollowed voice spoke from the broken earth in front of her. "If only I knew how to fight like this." His voice was actually quite positive, for he had found himself someone to measure himself on. He began the slower process of reforming, only because the expenditure of chakra was not something that could come lightly. "You free at least once a week?" He said while waiting for his body to come together, as it seemed to slowly pool its way back toward the central depository of earth.

The kunoichi was really not expecting him to get a handle of using his whole body so quickly, but he had, and forced her to even split apart more than she would have liked. So dangerously spread out that even her hearts were vulnerable to quick attacks but she was quite thankful that seemed to be his one trick. Closing around his arm once more, Kunikunosaku positioned Hotarubi for her quite damning counter. People in general, it was life and death to be ensnared. She almost killed a Senju with this same exact technique and would have killed him, if a certain someone didn't save him. Watching the tendrils get tighter and tighter, breaking off his arm mace and the sound of rock being crushed. Kuni tilted her head and wondered if she went too far. When the jutsu concluded. She watched as the rock crumbles fell to the floor, her arm resetting itself as she broke the remaining mace in her.

"Why do I have a feeling you are not dead yet?" The Mikatakujira stated prior to the broken mass speaking... echoing. "It takes a while, stone-face, I have years under my belt and I still sometimes forget but I know you'll get it down." It might just be the most reassuring thing she stated since being free from prison, it was the truth though. Fighting Issei was the one true moment she cast her vision of a mortal coil and fought how she truly is and that, well, it scared her. Her eyes moved to where rocks started forming and she just made a soft smile, he was okay... somewhat.

Kunikunosaku sat next to the reforming Genin. "Normally yes, I don't get a lot of emergency missions as I guess I'm saved for the nuclear option. Yeah, we can do this again. For now focus on regenerating, I'll make sure you get that properly down. I think that is your guys' big vulnerable state, not your weakness but some can come up and ruin your day, I'm going to sit here and make sure that doesn't happen, if that's fine." She hid a smile, he was no Takeshi but knowing she wore this Yamakira out was enough to make her happy and feel stronger that she could do something like this. It was payback in a way, and a part of her was grateful this kid allowed her that chance, but it was something she wouldn't say to his face.

It was a good assumption. No, he was not dead. But - it would only add to his arrogant tone of voice by the way of his response. It was positive, and self assured. He didn't seem deterred - this was training. That was the important feat here. "You wouldn't have stood a chance if I had the years experience. How old are you, anyway?" Hotarubi would ask, wondering. It was hard to tell if the loli was a Genin or a Jonin, faster than him? Certainly. But - because he lacked the practical real world experience he didn't have an accurate judge of what the Jonin were capable of. "That's fine." Hotarubi would only respond to the latter half of the statement, his silence prior to that. Of course he wasn't going to reveal whether it was the weakness. Sure, he'd been honest - but the information he provided wasn't much different from the presumed fight with the dickhead. That and he was actually regenerating slowly in front of her... so.. it wasn't much of a hidden thing. "Takeshi's gang is the reason I wasn't able to join the academy sooner. Kunikunosaku could not really believe he had the idea to gauge her age, realistically, she died at 13 so she could easily say that; however, in the eyes of anyone else. Kunikunosaku was pretty much the age she was supposed to be. Kunikunosaku looked up as she let tomb stone do his thing. "Sixteen to put it simply." Kunikunosaku added no more nor less, she still had more to talk about while only fragments of time for any other detail. He was fine to her sticking around, which is good. She wasn't asking if she could but quite literally if he was fine with this fate.

Kunikunosaku plopped on the ground, keeping one of her daggers at the ready. He extrapolated that he was late to the academy party due to Takeshi's gang. The girl was aware they were a rowdy bunch but not to the extent of full knowledge. The similarities besides age and kind of abilities ended there, anything she heard of the Yamakira sounded like a folktale with no subliminal lesson; she just stared at Hotarubi. "That sounds like some grade-a bullshit, Hotarubi-san." Kuni stated instinctively without even a thought... She looked him over to gauge his recovery state. "Yeah, we're going to whip you in shape. When you can beat Takeshi, then we'll look at who can take you further, until then, hope you like vindictive training, and hope you're a fast learner. That reason alone is why I am tired of clan relations."

Kunikunosaku just sighed and looked at Hotarubi again. "How taxing is it to, you know, repair yourself?" The Mikatakujira tilted her head, something akin to a lesson plan formulated in her head.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

Even if it was objectively unfair, Hotarubi would tut and shake his head at her assessment. "Sounds like a weakling who got their toys taken from them." He would never understand people who did not respect or understand hierarchies. Power was so ingrained to him, that it was natural to be deferent (even then, to a degree) to those more powerful, and more gaudy to those below them. "Depends." Hotarubi would answer honestly. He was answering proportionately to her understanding, which she could see plainly in front of him. "How long is a piece of string? It's relative." He could suppose he went into more detail as his legs began to reform. "Generally speaking, earth is earth. It's here - there... so it's not difficult for us." But then again - he didn't directly answer the question about tax. And that was all he would provide on the subject. "When do they put the... whatever it is? In you?" The reverse question could be asked, because he had no understanding of who did and didn't get it from the Mikatakujira clan.

Kunikunosaku just looked at him. She didn't feel like telling him that officially, she died at 13, and her afterlife form which is Jiongu at 3 turning 4 soon. It was easier to explain the age of what she'd be rather than introduce variables and concepts that would surely confuse his rock brain. She just waited for the answer to her question and Hotarubi gave her the answer she expected. While others would complain of its ambiguity, Kuniunosaku saw the exponential and gradual strain repairing would be. She too had that same answer, she also knew it became quicker as she got stronger and the painful time and strength of coming from death's door became more like a tickle in a relative sense.

Still, such a process made her wonder if the two were at a disadvantage because they couldn't die normally. It reminded her that in a sense, they were both immortal and everyone around them will age and die but they will stay young and exist, a somber thought she didn't want to think about but got anyways. Hotarubi got her out of her somber thoughts by relating the process to strings. That portion confused her but his clarification of how bountiful earth was, it made the process almost not that taxing. It wasn't that far in the conversation that the Yamakira asked when they gave Kuni Jiongu. The girl sighed. "There's no set date, it is whenever the head chooses for the Apprentice. During a time when our previous Apprentice proved they were good for literally nothing, I volunteered to become the Apprentice, not knowing this came with it." As she spoke, her arm ripped apart into a mass of wrangling black tendrils. "I... It was my 13th birthday present. Losing my humanity and getting Jiongu. How earth makes up you, it's how Jiongu makes up me... I am Kunikunosaku... but Kunikunosaku died almost four years ago now... They don't put this in you, it becomes you, but... it needs to kill you first."

The girl willed her arm to reform before looking back at Hotarubi. "If I recall, Burial Technique is your hijutsu and why you're like that... What makes me isn't a technique... It's something more... evil, I guess." Kunikunosaku laid on her back, staring at the sky. "Why do you chase power, Hotarubi-san? For your own personal view?"

He stared with blank eyes. So it wasn't every one of them? She was introducing concepts which were foreign to his brain. Just because he understood them did not mean he comprehended them: and it would be evident in the way his eyes lost their gloss as his earthen form was returning to itself. They were uninterested. But, he had asked. "So you're not a person anymore but a thing?" That was the easiest way to put it. He was a thing: made of earth. Human? Secondary to earth. She had a point though, she was something biological. But that something could kill her: in some ways it was superior. She would eventually outlive him. If he were conservative with his 'human' use, he could have probably lived longer but... well. All biological things died right? Hers had a shelf life too. It was hard to tell. Hotarubi scoffed. "Power is order." That was a tenet in their clan. "We -- the Yamakira, we see it. Someone with more power steps over the top of you, those beneath you bow below you. It is all things ordered, categorised... whatever you might want to call it. Which, surprises me that there hasn't been a Yamakira Lord yet." He was directly thinking of himself there. "No people strong enough, I suppose." But, he started gathering his things. He was out of chakra for the day. "If you aren't... Kunikuianu, then you should pick a name that is more fitting for you. Later." And that would be allf rom him, for her to mull over.

It was always hard to tell people the truth about herself. Whether it being a specific topic or part of a casual conversation. The technical nuances ran deep, so much so that Kunikunosaku actively tries to avoid discussing them when she can. Saying you're dead but at the same time not dead but not even in your body but that created by something else cannot justly simplify it. There was no universal way to do such a thing. Something the Yamakira boy will soon come to learn with time. Maybe he'll be slower to it than others, maybe not. But in response to his question, she gave a nod of confirmation that it was the case without imploring and extrapolating all the weight such a topic has.

She questioned his drive, his motive behind why he was so eager to learn. And the answer definitely didn't surprise her, a certain mutual Lord seemed to believe that. Power is order. Kuni wasn't entirely sure she vibed with that answer but it was his answer. All she was doing was learning and she had her own belief system. It almost amused her that his sentiment of lack of a Yamakira Lord was a thing. "Blame Yosaiyama for that." Kunikunosaku was right, the main reason was that the first Lady just didn't expire. The boy announced his exit and Kuni just waved a few fingers of her hands. "Be here next week, anything comes up, I'm really not hard to miss." His recovery was complete and her job was finished, at least more or less.

Kunikunosaku rose, seeing he was done. She didn't mention what exactly happened with her moniker 'Zangyaku Kōi', but she knew that persona was suppressed deep. Maybe, one day she'll let it officially lay Kuni to rest. But, for not, the Kunoichi will always be Kunikunosaku... even if she only feels like a shell of her.
