With Taki having recently returned from a mission, Taki kept letting something specific come into her mind a phrase that Souma had said that kept running through her mind over and over.

""You see, with a precisely measured application of chakra- which is of course a specialty of mine!- one can create tremendous sustained or momentary force!"As the girl stood within the training field in the sage compound amongst a sea of trees and her sage mode active she had a rather interestingly elaborate set up a series of wood planks all positioned a few feet away from each other. Her goal? To see if she could amplify the range of sage fist by applying the same principle to her attack.

She kept going over how the girl punted that small rock hundreds of feet with a simple Kick, Taki herself was pretty powerful and could perform the feat on her own but had figured that maybe the girl was on to something it made her wonder if such a feat could be replicated using sage mode in order to improve the idea. She had already trained herself in different ways that she could take advantage of sage mode to increase her normal abilities but what about being able to increase the techniques she can only use in sage mode?

She went over it for days and days thinking on various different aspects, even going over some training that she did with Sabishi a Nohime she had met some time ago. "The sage fist technique can use senjutsu chakra in orda to give me an extra bit o power but can I do more wit it? I ain't awl dat wit ninjutsu maybe.” the girl would wonder. "Well let’s give it a go.”

With the girl fully transformed she’d charge towards one of the pieces of wood and leap into the air and would perform a dropkick stopping just short of the wood causing a shockwave to be released from her legs that would knock the wood down but only to a smaller degree. "Hmm…it’s got decent range, but I wonda if I can increase dat.” Taki wasn’t the best with ninjutsu and often used techniques that were better for immobilization to keep opponents at bay but as a result didn’t have a lot of range.

After thinking on it for sometime she postulated a theory about a way that she could add range to her attacks using the sage fist but hadn’t exactly figured out how. And so she opted to visit Fudo to see if he could provide her with some answers. "So you want to know more about the sage fist technique?”he would state looking over at his student, the ape himself sat up in a tree climbing trying to gather himself a fruit that was perched up at the top.

The gorilla was intrigued by the idea and in fact knew exactly of a way to accomplish such a feat and figured if he was going to teach her he’d start small. "Well then we’ll start with the fundamentals. Let's recall how the move works.” After a moment Fudo would successfully grab a piece of fruit from the tree and then flip off of it onto the ground, after landing beside her. "Go ahead and enter sage mode.” Taki would nod to the elder gorilla and would take a moment to gather some of her chakra slowly taking it all in and transforming into her sage mode state, her body taking on even less animalistic features than before.

Fudo would bare witness to this seeing how her transformation was coming along.Fudo would state acknowledging how her transformation was coming along it had began to look much less animalistic and more human, she seemed to be improving more and more by the day. He kept his expression hidden but deep down he was proud of her and knew that her teacher would be too. "Very good…” he would look towards the tree and point towards it with two fingers. "Now then go and use the sage fist to strike the tree.” Taki would nod too her teacher and would then dash forward and strike the tree, the force from the blow blowing a hole into the tree.

The gorilla would formulate his hand placing his middle finger against the base of his thumb, Taki seeing this would look to it and do the same as he asked. "Okay…so what’s da plan here." the girl would raise a brow as she looked towards the gorilla. Taki would look towards him and nod her head. "I want you to focus your chakra into the tip of your finger and release it, if done correctly you’ll create a massive funnel of energy that will produce a shockwave.” the girl seemed excited by the prospect and would would funnel the chakra into her finger and attempt to flick her finger forward but as he flicked her finger forward she’d feel something coarse against her palms upon realization she’d see that her fingers were slowly beginning to petrify.

Noting this, Fudo would quickly swat her on the back of the neck reversing the petrification process. "Did I ova do it.” the girl would say as she looked to the larger ape. "Indeed you did…you lost control of the chakra you were funneling, try again.” the girl would nod her head and give it another go this time doing a bit better focus herself.

She'd repeat the process as best she could in order to try and nail the technique, only making very tiny strides barely able to really make any significant progress but due to the nature of the technique and the toll it took on her reserves when firing the youth would fire off one last concentrated blast getting a solid feel for the technique as a whole but despite getting another half decent shot the girl would eventually find herself collapsing to the ground her finger trembling from the constant repetitive motion and the amount of chakra and force she was making herself expend in order to perform the technique.

"Ahhhh...” the girl would say as she laid on the ground "I think that's enough for now, you're inability to properly perform the technique seems to be drawing on your reserves you barely have enough to sustain sage mode as it is.”

"I ain't done yet...” the girl would say glaring over at the old gorilla as she turned her head towards him whilst she was on the ground. "I gotta nail dis...technique...!” she’d shout but just as she lined her fingers up for one more shot her body would give out just as she funneled the last vestiges of chakra causing her to fall to the ground her hand trembling from overuse.

After a short time, Taki would find herself sitting down on a wooden bench as Riku would apply a splint to her hand. "Dammit…I passed out didn't I…?” the girl would say to herself. "As per usual...now hold still the nature of the injury is rather complex for a muscular strain., I'll need to bandage it up since the skin broke from the intense whiplash.” with that the girl would lean her head back onto the bed groaning.

You want to save your uncle...but you can't save him if you're dead.” Taki would look towards the well dressed gorilla who had just finished conjuring up a concoction for her that he’d set in front of her. Taki would growl to herself she deep down knew that Riku was right but didn’t want to admit it, her mouth began to furl as if she were scowling not wanting to hear everyone telling her to slowdown she couldn’t if she did who knows what could happen if she became complacent who knows what could happen. "It’s awl I can do! I'm already 2 years too late…he could be dead! I just I can’t afford it…!” she’d shout. As this went on Riku seemed to be making some sort of medicine for her something to help ease the pain she's feeling in her hand.

"Taki I'm not telling you to give up, but rather then wrecking your body or worse risking petrification, but you’re letting your failures get to you…and the last sage who did that found themselves a statue in the garden of the forgotten.” Taki would take the concoction that was left in front of her and drink it down.

It tasted terrible as evidenced by the girls wincing as she drank it down. "Gross…Ms. Midori already told me da same thing, I gotta do whatever it takes Riku.” the girl would remark, after a moment Taki would stand to her feet and exit out of Riku’s treetop office. "Now head home…and get some rest, I know its a difficult task but it’s important.” "Yes sir…” With that the girl would make her way towards the camp a melancholic feeling overcoming her.

As the girl made her way inside she’d lay on her bed the room was small but cozy she had a large vanity mirror and a decently sized mattress. As she laid on her bed resting the youth’s eyes would get heavy and she’d drift off to sleep as the sun kissed her cheeks, her mind taking into a dreamscape where she was remembering the last time she’d seen her uncle just before his capture.

Taki’s life was so much different all those years ago she was the star of the Junior division and in a few years would’ve had a promising career as a main roster talent, and then from there she’d take over the organization and lead a nice normal happy life. But on that day nearly 3 years ago everything changed when he was taken from her, and that want and lust for vengeance had been her only driving force for the last few months. She’d reflect on how far she’d come since then having attained the powers of sage mode as well as taken on two new students.

It was nice but in a way she had also found it to be a slight distraction keeping her away from her goal she knows Riku is right and she shouldn’t focus on something she currently doesn’t have the power to change, but that was exactly the reason why she became a shinobi was so she could have the power to get her uncle back and everytime she was told to wait or put in a situation she couldn’t work past it made her frustrated. She kept thinking of all of the obstacles she'd been up against so far and how far she'd come but no matter how hard she tried things seemed so far away.

She had no idea what could be happening to him at the moment what those monsters from the south were doing to him and she needed to be there she wanted to be there and as time drew closer it became harder and harder to cope with everything, just how much more time did she have left to bide? "Man..." the girl would say as she glimpsed over at her damaged hand.

Upon opening it up she’d find a scroll at the foot of her door. On it a list of techniques all based upon the concept of the sage fist, Taki would look it over and then down at her arm remembering what Riku had said to her. She was never the most book smart person choosing action akin to studying, but even she knew if she kept going for too long it'd only hurt her more. She was angry, but she knew when to switch things up. "I can’t just not train, man dis looks like a lot.” Upon looking over the scroll the girl would see various different ways in which she could take advantage of the sage fist technique, but with her hand being out of commission she’d need to try something different to try and train.

"But if I can’t use my right hand, den maybe I should take Riku’s advice.” she’d open up the large scroll and begin to take a look at the information. "So I don’t bust up my left hand.” the girl would grip her fist, ready to get to work with that she’d place her hat onto a small coat rack she kept in the room and would begin to vigorously look over the material, starting with the first technique on the list. As she looked it over she would begin to break each individual ability down.

"Sage Flicka, dis technique uses natural energy to add a laya o senjutsu chakra around a small point o da users finga’s and usin senjutsu chakra will fire off a blast o compressed air towards a target.” the girl would begin to visualize the technique in her head getting a better feel for how everything would operate. Taki would think back to how she used the technique. "I guess when I did it, I was concentrating too much powa one spot and it backfiya’d on me, so I gotta maybe try to start small.” with that the girl would look over the scroll for a short while longer, diving into it. "Says ere...dat its meant to extend da range o da usa's attacks usin pure strength, with minimal reliance on senjutsu."

"Alright…I tink I gots a betta undastandin of da technique.” the girl would say as she made her way out of her bed. "Now I tink it’s time to give dis anoda go, I took Riku’s advice and hopefully it pays off.” the girl would carry the scroll back towards the tree and would transform herself back into sage mode, afterwards the girl would then concentrate as she raised her fist and flexed her fingers into the proper position. "Concentrate da chakra into da finga.” with that Taki would focus on her chakra as she gathered her chakra towards one solitary point within her hand able to feel the chakra gathering on her skin as if all of her nerves were relaxing in her finger at once.

"Transfer da energy.” the girl would then channel it directly towards the bottom of her finger "And release.” from there she’d release her finger forward and let out a small burst of air that she would feel rush from her finger it didnt really go anywhere but she was able to feel it, along with a sharp pain in her finger. "Ssssaaa…” she’d hiss, wringing out the pain in her fingers from the recoil of her attack.

She’d clutch her finger within her hand but after a moment the pain would subside from a sting to a throb. "Ahh…ahh…okay it ain’t broken…so I’m doing something right.” from there the girl would continue to fire off shots in order to try and gauge the power of each one. After about 6 shots the girl would find herself getting rather winded.

After a moment the sounds of rustling leaves can be heard and Taki would look out in that direction and spot Fudo. "Fudo…?” the girl would say. "Looks like the scroll I left you, is doing wonders for you, too bad you still haven’t hit the tree.” Taki hadn’t exactly been focusing on landing an exact strike on the tree.

"What da–” she’d look over at the tree and would notice that the ground was slightly damaged but the tree was fine. "I tink I might need ta take five.” the older gorilla would walk towards her and extend out his hand to help her too her feet. "I managed to figa out how ta get it ta woik, but I still ain’t got it down pat, got any pointas?” the girl’s hand would throb from all of the shots she had fired off as she looked to taller creature.

"I’m glad that you understand that, I would’ve given you the scroll earlier but I wasn’t anticipating you injuring your finger.” Fudo had seen many sages attempt to practice this technique early on in their training it was usually the prelude to sage fist as a whole, but with Taki being rather overzealous she must've somehow grasped the concept of the other variant first since it wasn't as detrimental to use despite it being less precise but also more powerful.

"Either way you’ll still need more practice, you’re able to fire off the blasts but you lack accuracy and control, but that injured finger of yours and the trembling in the other I suggest you pause for the day.” Taki didn’t want to admit it but perhaps now she could give herself some rest since she felt as though she actually accomplished something this time around.

"Yeah…I’ll do dat, at least now I made some progress, wonda why I neva loined dis foist?” the girl would say defiantly. Taki still had a great deal of work ahead of her in order to try and master this particular technique but with it she’d be able to have another way to take advantage of a technique she didn’t find much use for.
