"Yes, that would be no problem at all," Asuka assure the boy while he spoke of her Byakugan. She wasn't surprised that he knew of its uses and he had come up with the idea even before she herself did. She guessed this was because of the missions Mairusu had taken with Shigure. The girl followed her partner into the shrub of trees, concealing herself in a rather uncomfortable position. While she tried to position herself well enough to see through the tall grass, the girl activated her Byakugan, veins forming at the corners of her eyes. Immediately the whole scene changed, the once colorful and beautiful land was now just grey and black. She would kneel next to the boy, hoping that they would be able to stop whoever was going to stop innocent travelers in time.

The girl placed her trust on Mairusu.

And the opportunity would come faster than she expected, as a couple of merchants neared the bridge. No sooner than they step foot on the bridge did a whistle sounded, presumably from somewhere close by. Her ears picked up the faint sound from the distance but it was her eyes that really helped make the final call of whether it was indeed a whistle from an unwelcomed individual. The girl strained and squinted her eyes, helping them focus. Being a Genin made it tougher for her to see when the subject was far, as it would be easier for someone like Shigure. But there was one thing that there would be no mistake, there were unwelcomed guests, and more than one. "Yes, I think so...I can also see faint outlines of more than one person too..." Asuka said in a low whisper, wanting so much to point in the direction she could see outlines but knowing that any movement could blow their cover.

"What should we do?" The girl turned her attention to Mairusu once again. There was really one thing to be done, but timing was key in situations like this, almost as important as teamwork. Working with the boy meant that they would need to be on the same page, to ensure flawless execution. "We need to at least gage that they are really the bandits...I think. I imagine that if they are, they'll be making a move soon." she thought to herself out loud, "I'm a Taijutsu person so am good at close combat. What about you?" She realized that she never asked anything about his abilities, a basic mistake for any joint operation.

While his suspicions were confirmed that there were people approaching the bridge there wasn't any confirmation of how many there were or what exactly was going on which was a bit of a bummer. They only had so much to work with and making the wrong judgment call could have possibly blown their cover, but if they didn't act and these were indeed the bandits then some innocent people were about to get robbed and they'd surely disappear into the hills once more. Tch, troublesome.

The boy rubbed his chin in thought as Asuka asked what their next steps would be. It was a tricky situation but he felt that the time to act was now though they needed a plan before just running in blindly. She'd then add that her specialty was close combat which wasn't a surprise and Mairusu wished he could have complimented it with medium or long range attacks but truth be told most of his stuff was up close as well. "Mostly up and personal, too, so it'd be kinda tough to get the jump on them from all the way back here." The genin replied trying to come up with a solution. He had a pack full of weapons he could have used for a sneak attack but without knowing who was who it'd be too risky to possibly injure an innocent person.

Decisions, decisions...

Then, an idea! If they needed to get a closer look at the group then that's exactly what they'd do! "How about we transform into a couple of older people and act like we're trying to cross the bridge? That shouldn't make them suspicious and then we can really see what's going on." Mairusu would offer as a possible plan. A simple henge should have been enough to trick the bandits into thinking the pair were just another mark to steal from all the while allowing Mairusu and Asuka to get in close.

Asuka had truly not thought about using Henge no Jutsu to transform into someone else to get close. It was ingenious and for the first time, her eyes lit up at the idea, rigurously nodding her head. She wondered who she was going to transform into, which with her Hyuuga clan eyes, would be difficult to put off any way. "Ok, let's do it!" she thought excitedly, continuing to crouch, she almost crawled a little farther away from their current hiding spot. She didn't want their transformations to be spotted by the enemy and wanted ample time to get to the main road so that it would seem like they had simply gotten there by chance. Looking back at Amirusu to see if he was following, the girl stopped behind a tree, before performing the necessary handseals for the jutsu.

"Henge no Jutsu!"

Almost immediately, she saw that her clothing changed, and the imagery she had had before creating the hand seals were now on her person. The hair had grown slightly longer, her red ribbon replaced with a loose bun that was tied with a bow at the back of her head. She felt physically taller, and her body was quite a bit more defined than her younger counterpart. She sported a kimono of black and red silk, with a matching obi. Asuka would glance at Mairusu to see if he was ready. If he was, the girl would continue with the plan that he came up with. "Ok, we're going to pretend to be merchants and walk along the bridge. If you don't mind getting the two merchants out of the way far enough from harm, I can act as the distraction while this happens. Just join me when they've been secured."

It was a bit of an on the spot plan but it was their best shot at getting close to the bandits without arousing suspicion. If the duo could get them to think that there was another potential score on the horizon then they'd be all too willing to let them get close; perhaps it wasn't all that bad of a plan after all. Mairusu would perform a set of seals before a small cloud of smoke would reveal an older, slightly hunched man with gray hair. Perfect bait for a group of lowly robbers.

The genin would listen to Asuka's plan to get the other people away to safety while she began dealing with the bandits and for a moment he swore he was talking to Shigure, but it was a good enough plan and if the girl had at least a bit of the skill as he older brother then fending off a few people for a couple moments wouldn't be too much a problem. "Sounds good, let's do it."

Mairusu would exit the brush and begin walking towards the bridge, moving slow to sell the act of being an old man, but in time one of the bandits would spot the pair approaching. "Ey boss looks like we got a couple more." One would speak. The de facto leader of the gang would turn from his initial victims and put eyes on the newcomers, a sly grin appearing on his features. "Looks like it's our lucky day, boys. Let em get close and we'll get all these guys at once." He instructed to the others. In time the two would reach the rest of the group before a lone man would step in front of the two genin to halt their progress.

"A toll must be paid to cross the bridge. Hand over anything of value and we'll let you pass." He spoke eyeing the two 'merchants'. "I-I... I don't like bullies." Old man Mairusu would speak as he reached back into his pouch and took out a couple of smoke bombs before throwing them on the ground. Thick black smoke would envelop the immediate area as the genin released the transformation technique and darted past the man to the civilians. "Oi what the hell?!" It was a risky move but he was hoping that Asuka would have his back long enough to get these guys to safety.

"I'm here to help, let's get you guys out of here." The boy would speak to the civvies as he began to help them turn their cart around move them out of harm's way. He didn't feel super great about leaving the girl by herself but getting these people out of the combat area was priority number one.

Asuka was happy that Mairusu decided to go along with the plan.

And almost immediately after she transformed, she saw the boy weave the same handseals to the same jutsu, instantly transforming into an old man. Asuka couldn't help but give a little chuckle at this new Mairusu, the hunched back with grey hair somehow suiting the boy. But this was not a time to admire each other's transformations, for the two shinobi quickly began walking along the main road to where the bridge was. The Hyuuga made sure to walk alongside the 'old man', helping him and playing her part as caretakers until they were within range of the other merchants on the bridge.

They walked towards the bridge and once they were almost on it, a lone man would seemingly have come out of nowhere to stop them, requesting that they pay a toll. Asuka released Mairusu's arm, listening to the man and then her partner's retort of not liking bullies. Neither did she, for that matter, and when he threw a smoke bomb, the girl knew that this was her chance. She released herself from the transformation jutsu instantly, allowing her byakugan to be in full view as she searched for the man's chakra system. It was easy enough, since the smoke bomb really didn't cloud her vision which would have already been clouded from her own kekkei genkai.

"I don't like bullies either..." she muttered under her breath, the chakra in her body focused to her hands. Asuka charged at the man, who seemed to be both surprised and not used to being shrouded with a smoke bomb. He coughed endlessly, and while he was still trying to recover, the girl was already inches away from the man, dispelling her chakra in rapid succession as her hands touched each important tenketsu. "Hakke, Sanjyuu-ni Sho" Each point she touched seemed to be light, and for a moment the man would feel close to nothing as his points were being hit. But the second he tried to hit her with chakra, he would understand the full effects of the Hyuuga Clan jutsu. And even if he didn't use chakra, the girl was almost certain that the way his body slowed in reaction to the smoke bomb would be enough deterrence.

She just wanted to make sure...

Essentially a simplistic version of a much more powerful maneuver of the Gentle Fist . However it seems to be quite effective on it’s own. It was born from the difficulty to perform the last sequence of its parent technique. It is used to close off the flow of chakra through thirty-two chakra points of the opponent’s Chakra Pathway System, eliminating their ability to use chakra for some time and make it difficult for them to move. This is done by delivering quick strikes to the enemy in a sequence.

With Asuka's physical assault there would be one less bandit to deal with and thankfully the smoke bomb was still concealing the majority of the area leaving the rest in confusion which allowed Mairusu enough time to get the two true travelers out to safety, or at least far enough that he believed they would be safe. Going too far would make it more difficult to get back in time to help out Asuka so he'd just have to live with the fact that these guys were maybe just going to see some people get beat up, or if they wanted to continue to move away then so be it.

After a few more moments the smoke would clear revealing only Asuka standing over the downed bandit who was all but knocked out from the repeated body blows. "Aw shit one of the villages musta caught onto us. Whadda we do, boss?" Asked one of the bandits while looking over to the other man. "Whatever, it's just a kid. Kill her and then go find the our meal ticket!" He'd reply, voice tinged with agitation.

Two of the bandits brandishing rusted swords would turn their sights on the young Hyuga before dashing in at her, one from either side aiming to cut the girl down where she stood. Even if she managed to surprise one of them the girl was still just a kid so how hard would it really be to deal with her?

Asuka knew that it wouldn't be that easy. To be fair, it had been easy enough to take out the man that had been on the bridge. Of course, the eight trigrams thirty-two palms was a little bit of an overkill, to say the least, but it had done the trick to make sure that he stayed down. However, she hadn't encountered that there were others, or rather, that they would come at her in pairs. The Hyuuga performed one handseal, muttering under breath as she saw them both come near her. "Shunshin no Jutsu..." It was a relatively easy technique, dispelling chakra from her entire body so as to use what was left from the smoke bomb to shield her trajectory and move to the right.

It wasn't really hard to take on two people at the same time, in retrospect, but she really wanted to take control of the narrative of the fight. The girl took out two shuriken, aiming one at each of the armed bandits. The Hyuuga was thinking about the strategy moving forward, since she had now blown her cover that she was a Hyuuga by using the eight trigrams technique. But these were bandits, she thought to herself, which meant that they shouldn't be as sharp about jutsu and its uses as shinobi, or at least she hoped that was the case. Another couple of bandits that were standing idle were now looking at Mairusu, their own swords ready to charge at him in rapid succession. They simply couldn't leave him out of the all the fun.

DESCRIPTION:
By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

As the two bandits charged in at the young Hyuga their untrained eyes couldn't believe it when the girl disappeared before their eyes and it wasn't until the shuriken had found their mark that they realized where the girl had ended up. The pair went down in a heap which brought her count up to three and yet another hiss of displeasure from the leader. On the other side a couple pairs of eager eyes had set their sights on Mairusu who was running back to rejoin his mission partner. "Ah damn, was hoping to catch 'em by surprise." The genin muttered to himself as the distance between he and the bandits continued to shrink.

Even though they were probably little more than regular civilians in terms of training they still had the advantage numbers wise so flying in all willy nilly was just going to slow him up. What to do? Well they couldn't hit him if they couldn't see him so that was the plan of action! Mairusu would perform a set of seals while channeling chakra to a single point in the middle of his forehead before loosing a blinding flash of light that would aim to blind the two bandits. "Gaah, damnit I can't see!" One would scream out. With his plan having worked the genin would fish out a few more kunai before throwing a couple each at the bandits aimed at their heads. Perhaps overkill but after a couple missions with Shigure the boy had learned that taking care of opponents swiftly was the best course of action.

Now with his two attackers down for the count Mairusu would continue back to the bridge to join up with Asuka who he noticed had taken care of her fair share of the bandits as well. Now all that remained was the leader of the group and if the vein bulging from his forehead was any indication of his current emotional state then it was safe to say he was pissed. "You brats think you're so cool because you took down my men, huh?! Well come on then, try your luck with me!" The man screamed out to the two as he looked between them. From a sheath on his back he brandished a pristine katana that was miles above what his goons had been using.

Asuka smiled a little, as the shuriken took out the two men. She knew that they were merely civilians and had hesitated in using sharp weapons against them. But those who terrorized the innocent were guilty regardless of whether they were capable fighters, that much she understood. The girl glanced over at Mairusu's general direction, and saw a flash of light which she assumed was a jutsu. She had never seen that kind of jutsu before, and when the other two bandits went down, she knew that whatever it was that he had used had worked. He was good at what he did, she mused, remembering for later to ask her older brother about the missions they had gone on together.

But for now, the leader of the pack, who was obviously irritated, hissed at them, saying that they should come at him in tandem. That was of course not a problem, and as Mairusu joined her side, she nodded her head at him, giving him a smile. They had perhaps planned that from the start, and judging from how he was taunting, she expected a better fight than what his minions had been capable of. This was a test of how well they worked together sans planning, her eyes switched between him and the leader. "Are you ready...?" she whispered to her partner, weaving handseals as she spoke. She focused her chakra to her fingers and dashed forward. Mairusu would see that she was aiming for the man's vital tenketsu points. Regardless of if he was a shinobi, she knew that it was an effective approach to at least wind the man.

Two against one, the odds were definitely in the genin's favor yet looking at the man's face there would be no signs of fear or trepidation. Men could be bought and replaced and it would only serve to bolster his reputation if he could claim to have taken down a couple of shinobi. Whether they were young or not mattered not as they had picked a fight with him so whatever came their way the pair deserved in his eyes. Mairusu, now back to the side of Asuka after escorting the civs back to a safety and taking down a couple of the bandits, wondered just how they were to go about this.

Past missions either had him working solo or even if teamed up with someone completing an objective on his own, but it looked like this time both he and Asuka would be fighting together. He figured they could have both sped right at him but that ran the risk of getting in each other's way so one of them would have to take the lead while the other followed looking for an opening. "Yep, let's get it." The boy would reply with a nod as he watched the Hyuga begin to prepare some kind of technique.

The bandit leader, scowl etched onto his face, would grip the hilt of his katana tighter as he watched the young girl weave signs. She was up to something but what it was exactly he did not know. With the confirmation of their readiness solidified Asuka would dart in towards the man aiming to jab at his tenketsu like she had done with the others though as handy as that technique was it's downfall was being too straightforward. As she closed in to strike the man would turn his blade horizontal aiming to block the girl's attack; a dangerous move was only dangerous if it hit so all he had to do was make sure those tricky little fingers of hers didn't connect.

With their opponent seemingly distracted by Asuka it was time for Mairusu to strike. He'd fish a couple more kunai from his pouch before throwing them at the bandit leader aiming to hit him in the legs. If he could score direct hits, even one, then he felt that it would throw the man off his game enough to let his mission partner deal the final blow; but even just distracting him from the Hyuga's frontal assault was good enough.

Asuka would note the second she darted at the leader of the bandits that she had made a mistake. It wasn't a grave mistake, in the grand scheme of things, but it was one which she hadn't accounted for. Of course, she hadn't used the Tenketsu Needle technique before in a spar, other than during her training with Azarea and Shigure. And that training had been quite simple and straightforward. The girl had learned the jutsu and practiced it on Azarea. The only problem was when they had trained, Azarea had been completely still and allowed Asuka to connect.

This was a different scenario altogether.

The girl saw the man draw his blade, and before she could retract her chakra-filled fingers they would connect to the metal portion of his blade. He swung the blade at her horizontally, and had she been just a tad slower, her entire midsection would connect with it. The man was being ruthless and unforgiving, perhaps now understanding that he wasn't dealing with two mere children. The top of his sword scraped the girl's sweater, creating a small slit in it near her abdomen. It was her favorite parka, she thought to herself in anger. She would throw two shuriken, one to either side of the man and distance herself from him.

It was then that Asuka saw that Mairusu had thrown two kunai of his own, aiming at the leader's legs. So now, the man would find himself dealing with two kunai to his legs and two shuriken at his shoulders. He would have to take one of those hits, she thought to herself, and would be thinking of her next steps. She dashed forward once more, having seen that there were now diversions to distract the man and aimed another tenketsu needle at his abdomen, to make a sandwhich attack of sorts.

Treating the bandit leader like he was just some easily disposable nobody was going to cost the two genin and his sword strike nearly hitting home almost brought that line of thinking to fruition. With the Hyuga creating space it allowed the man to see the incoming kunai aimed at his legs and it took took little more than a quick side step to let them harmlessly hit the ground, eyes darting at the boy who had attempted to underhandedly take him out. A couple swings of the katana would deflect the shuriken Asuka had thrown but she was at least brave enough to use them as a diversion for another attack; unfortunately it was looking like a broken record in that she was coming straight at him again.

What changed this time however was that he didn't have his katana to try and block the strike as the swinging to deflect the shuriken left him out of form and exposed. The sharp almost ethereal strike nearly doubled the man over but he wasn't going to let a single jab do him in. "You little punk.."

An opportunity! With Asuka staggering the bandit leader Mairusu knew this was their best shot at taking him down before he could regain his senses and take another swing at the girl. Racing forward the boy would perform a set of seals while charging his hands with raiton. "Asuka step back!" He'd call out to the girl not wanting her to accidentally get caught in the crossfire of what was to come next. Thrusting both his hands forward he'd grab onto the man unleashing a wave of intense electricity that would surge throughout the man's body.

"AAAAHHHHHHFJFHFJFJHEJFNJEJE!!!!" The bandit leader screamed out before collapsing onto the ground, fingers twitching randomly as the current lingered in his system. A sigh of relief left the genin as he thanked the heavens his idea had worked. He didn't have the reflexes to avoid a katana strike with the man looking right at him so he needed a distraction, and Asuka had provided a perfect one. "Looks like all of 'em. How bout we tie 'em all up and call it a day?"

After the handseals are completed, the user will generate a large amount of Raiton onto their hands which could be discharged onto a person or object they are in close contact with. The electricity from this jutsu has enough power to intensively damage and electrocute the opponent. Due to it's short range, conductive materials are often used to lengthen it's range, and even improve the electrical power of the technique. Methods such using streams of water or ninja wire are common ways to improving the jutsu's range.

The headstrong straight attacking style that Asuka had was definitely not a smart one. However, it would take her a good moment before she would truly learn that this form of attacking was one which was not only not smart, but also opened her up to counters more. As a taijutsu specialist, this was especially detrimental. Yet, it would surprise her when the man seemed to be able to dodge both the kunai and the shuriken, dodging the kunai and then blocking the shuriken with his katana.

But then, as she was starting to feel disheartened, her tenketsu needle miraculously connected with the man. And as he doubled over in pain, she heard her partner tell her to back away. At first, she had been confused, but then realized that perhaps he had seen an opportunity she did not. The girl quickly backed away, her legs carrying her backwards as fast as she could, all the while watching what Mairusu was doing. And the next second she would be amazed, somewhat baffled, as a surge of electricity surged through the bandit's body.

Raiton chakra?

Asuka had never seen a raiton technique before. To be fair, her natural chakra was suiton, so all other elements were interesting and new to her. As the man fell forward, she nodded to her partner, a smile on her face, a small one but still a smile nonetheless. "Yes, we should be able to round them all up! I'd say we make a pretty good team, don't you think?" A rare moment of lightheartedness could be felt and seen on the girl. Although she knew that Mairusu had done most of the work, she would like to think that they made a good team.

With all the bandits either knocked out or in too much pain to put up anymore of a fight it wouldn't take long to round them up and tie them with ninja wire. "Yeah we had a couple cool combinations. I'm glad it worked out well." Mairusu would reply with a smile. He was still young and learning his way around being a shinobi and that inexperience had shown itself during his spar with Miroru but each experience --even the bad ones-- was an opportunity to grow. He had learned from that battle that indecision would be his downfall so this time around he had to think fast and act with purpose, and wouldn't ya know it things worked out well! However, even a successful mission still offered an opportunity to improve and while nothing came to mind immediately Mairusu would surely look back on this mission and find some way to better himself.

The girl nodded her head to the suggestion of taking the bandits to the nearby city. She agreed that leaving the bandits there until someone came to pick them up was not really the best of choice. She looked around, thinking of how to tie them up to transport them. "How do we tie them up?" A seemingly dumb question, but not one without reasoning. She noticed that one of the leader's henchmen squirmed, to which she simply kicked him. Aggressive, but it did the trick, since the man's body went limp once more.

The trip to the nearby city wasn't that far at all, as Asuka noted to herself after the fact. Mairusu had been a great help, although this mission had taught her much about herself. Her seemingly over eager desire to attack straight on in a spar had landed her in tough spots before, but never when it came to with others. The girl struggled to think of ways she could manuever this, since being covert was not part of how she fought at all. She made a mental note that she was going to ask Shigure when she next had the chance. Despite her understanding of using weapons and tools to help with the covertness, she wanted to focus her attention on Hyuuga techniques, especially given her current status in the clan.
