The mist weaved between the buildings and all living thing constructs. Nothing remained untouched. The mist, its village, had touched many hearts and lives in its long existence, but perhaps the most interesting thing was what went on within the mist, hidden from view. Many had found groundbreaking discoveries in secret, and kept it so just to use it for the village whenever the need arose.

Kaguya Meiko was no stranger to those things that went on below the surface of Kirigakure, though she was no Hunter nin. Just like the mist hid many things, she had to keep many things hidden, a special ability of hers, as well. It had been discovered and developed in the civil war and had been of  much use to her then. Less so now, though. However, when word got around someone else was tampering with something similar, she couldn't help spending her free time shadowing this person. Just a little. In time, she sent a letter. A mysterious note with some directions and enough information to let the other know that she knew this person was tampering with things she might not know enough about. Push too far and you'd burn yourself right up. 

Meiko had donned a cloak and her gear, set out in the night and set up camp in the mountain stretching to the north of the village. It ws remote. It was safe. Here she trained. Here she waited. Every day from when the sun was almost at its zenith, she would sit on a ridge high up, gazing out while remaining well and hidden from prying eyes below. No one she sought had shown up yet. But... Perhaps today would be the day. Her vacation time was running out and her gate guard and prison duties would soon call her back once more.

For the last few weeks Asuka had been training to try and get a grasp on the 8 inner gates and the manner in which they functioned, in her quest to do she had overheard stories about a genin who had opened them in the heat of battle and since then has been working to hone those abilities.

This intrigued her; she'd been attempting to figure out the technique on her own for some time now but hadn’t fully figured it out no matter how hard she tried she made small strides of progress but never anything of major significance. When she tried to reach out to her she was told that she had made her way towards a mountain. She had no leads and no way to find her but using her honed sensory abilities she’d make her way towards one of the highest peaks in Kirigakure where she felt a signal.

It was a long journey to find it and an even longer one to make the climb but when she finally did try as she might there she stood overlooking the peak a thumping in her heart as she looked upon her form. "She’s beautiful, she looks like Lady Minako..” she’d think before standing up and then looking to the woman. "Excuse me…are you Meiko-chan?” the girl would state. "I’ve been looking for you.” the girl would state addressing her politely.

With the rigorous training that Asuka had to endure as she honed her body to levels of perfection rivaling that of any martial arts master. Asuka's strength has increased 10 fold to the point where she is able to crush stoned within her grasp and breaks bones of lesser individuals with ease. And while she still has much to learn as a chunin. The youth's power is not one to be challenged lightly, as she is able to perform physical feats that would seem inhuman to even most shinobi.

Hijutsu: Kinu no Eikyō:
Asuka is a member of the Waruichi clan and as such has the ability to control a special chakra infused silk that was forged by a special group of silkworms that feed on the corpses of dead clansmen. With it Asuka can craft and shape the silk to her will and uses it in a mostly supplementary fashion to aid her in battle alongside her powerful taijutsu skills.

Iron Burst:
As a sole practitioner of Taijutsu Asuka has relentlessly pushed her body against itself for spectacular results: her strength carries over into her speed, and as such alongside the control she exerts body in spirit and in mind, she is intensely faster than those of a similar level of strength and maneuvering expertly as if the air were an extension of her own body.

A Disciplined Iron Bull:
During Asuka's time as a genin the youth had begun to realize that in order to excel as a shinobi she needed to learn how to properly utilize her chakra. And while she doesn't posses the greatest of reserves the youth has learned through rigorous meditation how to keep her chakra still and calm. As a result she is now able to wield it with a great deal of control and is able to channel only the necessary amounts of chakra into the few jutsu she uses in order to make the most of their abilities whilst still being able to keep up in a fight.

A grin split her lips, her heart and chakra jumping for a brief moment when she saw a shape appear on one of the paths. They were not well travelled, but it seemed the woman had found her anyways. She  had heard something about her being a sensor, as well. An interesting combination, but useful, surely.

And Meiko couldn't care less. It only meant she would be able to see chakra whirling and warping. It was something else to open the gates and to master yourself to such a point. Nonetheless, Meiko had her own motivations for this meeting, as well. Time would tell if Asuka was even capable fo handling the strain of the gates. Though their places might have been reversed had Asuka been a few years older - old enough to have been an expendable soldier in the daimyo war.

Meiko rose to stand, gazing down upon the brunette, her smile grew and she leapt from the ridge, her chakra whirling to increase the strength of the bone in her legs, causing the earth and rock to crack at her landing. She couldn't help being relieved the woman had decided to find her despite the strangeness of their meeting. 

"Yeah, I have been waiting on you, Waruichi. I'm glad my letter did not go ignored." Hazel eyes took in the woman, studying her. Strong, yet clad in the softest of silks - its softness was treacherous though and Meiko needed no reminding of that. The dichotomy of it all was amusing and her face revealed it as she turned on her heel, motioning for the other woman to follow her. The rock here was sturdy, so utilizing it as a training tool would only hurt them and make them stronger. She shook her thermos and found two cups, "tea?" she offered, pouring one cup for herself regardless. "I hear you have been playing with the gates? Foolish endeavor, if I am honest, they are not for everyone." It was said with a joking tone, though that might escape Asuka, they were not familiar with each other, after all.

As the girl spoke Asuka would look to her, her voice was calm and present she seemed unlike everyone else in the village, she had told her that she had been waiting for her offering her a thermos of hot tea something welcome to her tired muscles, as she drank it she cold feel the coarseness of the stone beneath her bandages. She’d take a seat looking up at the woman she looked to be a few years Asuka’s senior but not as old as Kyouka or some of the more experienced Jounin within the village.

Something about her kept her off guard it was a nice feeling she felt as if she was near a kindred spirit with her around. Perhaps it was because she never had a real teacher. As she finished her first cup of tea she would be told that the girl had heard she was playing with the gates and how they weren’t for everyone. "I’ve been trying to figure them out for months now Meiko-chan, I abandoned it after some time but never wanted to give up.” she’d say a determination in her voice.

"I can’t call myself a master without it and I don’t want to give up on that pursuit.” she knew the risks and had learned them from each of her different endeavors. "But even still I’ve only managed to crack the surface of the first gate.” she’d remark.

Meiko listened to the young brunette as she tapped the side of her tea cup. Cracking the first gate... It haunted her dreams at times, still. It was years ago now, but sometimes something struck a cord and the memory and loss was just below the surface once more. She supposed it might be harder to break through the first gates limits when there is little to no stakes. She was far from suggesting Asuka was incapable or that the situation simply was not ideal for breaking the dam. 

A master title was often sought after, but as Meiko kept reaffirming for herself it often meant she only became increasingly aware of how little she knew. Of course she had some expertise in some areas others had not. But to call herself a master, she would not dream of it. Not yet. Maybe in her older wizined age? She chuckled at the thought. 

"The first step is always the hardest - in any endeavor, I think. I can train you, but first I need to know you are aware of the risks. That if you push yourself too far, you will die. It will be painful. It will burn you up in a way chakra exhaustion or chakra fire could never hope to. They will save you and your friends when you are facing down an opponent far greater than you. It will feel great, but keep using it and you will feel the effects of it. My master was no spring chicken but his body was far older than himself due to the use of the gates... Do you understand that you will be putting your life on the line every single time you open a gate? With each gate opened you decrease the chance of you recovering. The final gate, however powerful it is, is most certainly a death sentence."

It was heavy words, but it was in the same vein as the spiel she had been given by her old master at her sickbed. Meiko finished her tea and stuffed the cup back into its pack and plopped down on the nearest seat, her hazel eyes locked on to Asuka-chan. 

"It is not the first time a gates user is in Kirigakure, there is a style dependent on the gates, the Oninken, it is one I am pursuing so if you wish to train following that style, I can teach you.

As the girls training was set to begin she’d take another sip of warm tea as she listened to the older woman speak to her, stating that the first step was always the hardest, she offered to train her but told her that the situation is dire and that there’s a possibility that she could, wanting to know if she understood these ramifications. Having understood this, the girl would set aside her tea and bow to the woman curling her back and allowing her hair to touch the floor.

"I understand Meiko-sensei.” she stood up to her feet. To her activating and achieving the knowledge of the 8 gates was one of the most important aspects of being a taijutsu user she wanted to help her village and she wanted to be her best self and if that meant sacrificing her body in order to do so then so be it. She was going to master this she had too, she just was happy to have someone who was able to teach her and was ready to do all she needed too.

"So where should we begin.” The girl had come to train and her teachers words while intimidating instilled her with determination. Her bandages were tied tightly as much as her convictions and nothing was going to deter her from her ambition.

Asuka's reaction to her words and the building spirit of determination in the air around her made Meiko smile - not so much one of her sunshine smiles, but one with a drop of wickedness and filled with excitement. She was without a doubt the other kunoichi understood and was ready to face the consequences of the Gates. 

"Where everything evolves, that is where we begin." 

Both humans and animals evolved at some point, they were forced to in order to survive. Those incapable or too weak to withstand the Gates would perish swiftly. Asuka likely would not, seeing as she had already been messing around with it. With a grin she undid the shawl belt and slipped out of the kimono, leaving it with her other belongings to step further into the rock formation.  She waved for the other to follow, "come along, then Asuka-chan~"

The rock formed a uneven circle, the ground was covered in moss and rock. Easy footing, but made for a tough landing if you fell.  It meant her little pack and other belongings were shielded and safe. Meiko turned on her heel and kept walking, her eyes fixed on Asuka. 

"Give it your all, I want to see how you react in a fight. No jutsu, just fists, ya know. " She stretched her arm out towards her and motioned for her to advance, she herself transitioned into a basic fighters stance.

The older orange haired woman would speak her wisdom stating that where everything evolves that is where they begin. The girl would remove her clothing, revealing her battle garb and would guide her towards another place. The smile she kept on her face was one that resonated with the girl she felt a connection too it.

She would lead up the mountain towards a rock formation the ground covered in moss the surface was hard but her bandages kept her feeling too much of the toughness of the gravel beneath her feet. She would be asked to give it her all with no jutsu only her hands, that’s exactly the way she liked things she was eager a furrowing of her brow. But then she’d look down at her bandages. "Sensei, my bandages are made of a special material and I feel the advantage they provide would be a bit unfair should I take them off?” the girl would ask her tone somewhat meek like a student hoping she wasn’t breaking any rules.

If she was given the go ahead to keep fighting she would bow to her instructor and would take a stance that might look a bit familiar to anyone who practiced the style, a special form of taekwondo that was invented in Kirigakure in order to aid swordsmen in battle.

Asuka who was fond of the style repurposed it and made it her own. She’d stand with one hand facing the ground and another balled into a fist and held at her waist side moving on the balls of her feet, if her opponent was ready she’d charge forward and would raise her leg implementing a swift series if kicks that were rapid in pace due to her training with striking speed, each one much faster than the last, the flexion of the muscles in her legs apparent with each blow. If she managed to land her barrage she’d finish the sequence with a swift kick that may potentially knock her opponent back.

Bandages? Meiko considered them for a moment, eyes narrowing a smidge. She was from the silk clan. They were strong. Could she shake the academy instructor if she still had her clan heritage and abilities so readily available? Perhaps. Unlikely, but she was not one to step down from a challenge either. It was tempting and Meiko's self-discipline was tested for a moment. Ultimately it failed, as she simply shrugged and told her to do whatever she was most comfortable with. So if she kept the bandages on, then that was that. [break][break]

Chakra surged through her body. Her blood pumped and her heart skipped a beat in excitement. She was likely about to get her ass handed to her, but if she had to spend a few slow days behind the gate desk, then so be it. With an almost cocky smile tugging at her lips, she waited for the special jounin to charge her. Would she be faster than expected? Would she force her to open a gate or two? Good thing she had those pills in the pack and rations she had brought with her. Would she even be able to would the younger woman? Not too badly, she hoped. When Asuka charged Meiko steadied her soft and flexible stance, memory and experience granting her the body of stone she defaulted to in a fight, and her muscles twitched into action, charging at Asuka with a raised fist and ivory bone seeping out to cover her hands and forearms. She didn't waste chakra on the heavy-duty gauntlets but put her trust in the strength of the bone beneath her skin and the gauntlets.[break][break]

As they were about to crash Meiko swirled to twist around Asuka and aimed for the woman's kidneys, though any spot on her body would do. The spiked gauntlets would surely do some damage or demand some action from the special jounin. It was a bit of a trick, resulting in a slight smile on her face and a mischievous glint in her eyes. Asuka was strong. That much was apparent. Muscles were defined and big, clearly built for strength rather than endurance. In the past, Meiko would have given a lot to look like that. Now she was content with the strong dancer's body she seemed to have acquired. Though she could throw a punch as well as anyone.

The gauntlet has spikes on the knuckles which increase the users punching power as well as the blunt force of their hits, the user can block ordinary knives(non-chakra enhanced weapons) as well. Raiton attacks are weaker and lose a great amount of power if they make contact with the gauntlets before the kekkei genkai user. The density determines the cost, a pair of gauntlets with the highest density will be heavy and costly, while a pair of gauntlets with the density of a normal kunai will be a low cost for those of genin rank and above.[break]

A maneuver best used as a parry or feint when the opponent is also going to strike back. The user rushes at the enemy with a fist raised up and acting like they're going to throw a punch but when they are half a foot away from their target they quickly pull their body into a spin and twirl around so that they are behind them. Once in position they release their fist into a hard strike into the center of the enemy's back.

As the girl made her way towards the woman readyin herself to perform her barrage she’d see the woman also make a move towards her, attempting to make a spinning feint. Spotting this, Asuka would retaliate by turning on her back leg and intercepting her perceived feint with a precisely placed kick to the girls shin. Kaguya had strong bones but Asuka had equally strong legs and would hope that her strike would be enough to cause some degree of stunning pain.

If she managed to succeed she’d perform a quick jab to the girls chest, curling her fingers into a knife edge with her knuckles to try and stun her if she succeeded in dazing her opponent with her high speed barrage she’d then once again return to the well with a strong barrage of kicks once again. The woman would banter in her direaction and while Asuka wasn’t always one for talking in the middle of a fight but appreciated the girls tenacity returning her teasing words with a spirited smirk of her own.

"I don’t call myself the Iron Fist of the hidden mist for nothing!” she’d think to herself stealing her resolve letting her actions speak for themselves, only letting out a guttural "Raaah!” as she charged into the fray. Thus far she’d note that the chunin most certainly had speed on her side but Asuka was stronger and faster and was going to put all she had into this battle.

DESCRIPTION:
Utilizing chakra in the feet, ankles and legs specifically. It is a small amount of energy, but used precisely on reflexes and timing. This technique is gauged this way. When timed, the user can twist themselves abruptly out of the way of an attack. Like a speedy side-step, but a rotation of one's body to the side. A spin-move. This is only attacks in an immediate vicinity(three meters) anything else is too big an attack. Usually Taijutsu, but sometimes this technique is effective against close-range ninjutsu.

With the rigorous training that Asuka had to endure as she honed her body to levels of perfection rivaling that of any martial arts master. Asuka's strength has increased 10 fold to the point where she is able to crush stoned within her grasp and breaks bones of lesser individuals with ease. And while she still has much to learn as a chunin. The youth's power is not one to be challenged lightly, as she is able to perform physical feats that would seem inhuman to even most shinobi.

Hijutsu: Kinu no Eikyō:
Asuka is a member of the Waruichi clan and as such has the ability to control a special chakra infused silk that was forged by a special group of silkworms that feed on the corpses of dead clansmen. With it Asuka can craft and shape the silk to her will and uses it in a mostly supplementary fashion to aid her in battle alongside her powerful taijutsu skills.

Iron Burst:
As a sole practitioner of Taijutsu Asuka has relentlessly pushed her body against itself for spectacular results: her strength carries over into her speed, and as such alongside the control she exerts body in spirit and in mind, she is intensely faster than those of a similar level of strength and maneuvering expertly as if the air were an extension of her own body.

A Disciplined Iron Bull:
During Asuka's time as a genin the youth had begun to realize that in order to excel as a shinobi she needed to learn how to properly utilize her chakra. And while she doesn't posses the greatest of reserves the youth has learned through rigorous meditation how to keep her chakra still and calm. As a result she is now able to wield it with a great deal of control and is able to channel only the necessary amounts of chakra into the few jutsu she uses in order to make the most of their abilities whilst still being able to keep up in a fight.

Having honed utilized various Taijutsu such as Kirigakure Taekwando and the Iron Fist styles, Asuka has grown to be considerably more proficient with her striking ability allowing her to land her blows on opponents with expert precision without sacrificing power. Due to this Asuka is better and devastating her opponents with her powerful offense and seldom ever misses her mark even against opponents with the most honed reflexes, making her a peerless striker.

Heh, nice... War experience surged forward and the gauntlets and the bone beneath her skin hardened even further, nearing their peak. She was definitely going to get a run for her money in this one. Might even get to actually test her own limits. A nasty thought danced across her mind as she gritted her teeth as she blocked the strike for her chest. The gauntlets had cracked and small spiderweb fractures crawled across them. Little Miss Asuka was no joke, it seemed. Certainly strong enough to attempt the gates, for sure.[break][break]

She would enjoy having her as a sparing comrade if the other was so willing.[break][break]


Her heart pumped and her shin pulsed with dull pain. Cracked bone armor and bruised muscle below. A lovely new input. Something to revel in. She would need to get her hands dirty to make this kunoichi nervous. She got up once Asuka made the least bit of room for her to roll away and find her feet. She drew in a deep  breath and found the switch, her chakra pulsing and radiating off of her body, no visible display like the one Kasumi was capable of, though. As Asuka charged, Meiko flipped the switch for the first gate. The thrill and the high it produced were pure bliss. She felt energized and strong. She flew towards the special jounin, ready to pummel her into the ground with a well-aimed kick to the abdomen. Pieces of bone flew all around them from the cracked gauntlets. If Asuka-chan had a baseline for the chuunins strength and speed down, she would be in for a surprise. If the kick landed as it should, Meiko would follow up with the rest of Ishi no Yasuno. Chakra had hardened the bone armor beneath her skin nearly to the highest density she could manage. [break][break]

As they crashed to the earth, Meiko pulled back a little, she was not trying to kill Asuka. So her full strength was not deployed in this attack. She had some focus on limiting the motion, rather than driving her elbow through her opponent, she simply sought to drive it into her. The landing on the ground would not produce the full crater, but simply make the ground shake and crack below her. Meiko would seek to land on the ground by Asuka and dance backward a few steps.

Kaimon [The Gate of Opening]
By opening the first gate located in the brain, Meiko removes the restraints on her muscles by a 100%, severely increasing her strength, compared to an average shinobi her taijutsu attacks become lethal to most. It is no wonder her strength easily matches or even exceeds that of sole taijutsu practioneres ranks ahead of her. Fatigue overtakes her once the gate burns out, but can be overriden by opening another gate.

The user opens the first of the Eight Gates before lunging at their opponent, delivering a winding kick to the stomach, the user quickly follows up the initial attack by launching their opponent into the air. Immediately following this the user uses their near Body Flicker speed to get to a height over their opponent and descend into an elbow drop combined with their more-strength to blast their opponent into the earth creating a massive crater. The user is exposed during the elbow drop part of this jutsu due to coming down mid air with no way to escape without using other means to dodge.

The girls strike would land cracking the bones of the woman’s gauntlet’s that raise up, bringing another hefty smirk along her face she was enjoying this, not many could take a punch from her and she was getting lost in the fun, afterwards she’d fire off her kicks adding more fire towards the girl and blasting her with a final series of kicks knocking her away.

The girl would wait for her opponent to stand being gracious to her adversary however during this time the Kaguya would blitz her with a powerful degree of speed allowing to get blasted with a strike to the gut before she even and then would be launched into the air moving as fast as a body flicker she barely had time to process all of this but as she remained sustained in the air she would realize the benchmark that she had to strive for and smiled for a brief moment. In an instant the Kaguya would appear above her with a fiendish smile seeing her strike Asuka would attempt to raise her arms in order to defend herself bracing for the blow but would be inevitably blasted down towards the ground.

Thankfully the girl hadn’t used the most of her strength but the strength she did use was immense powerful leaving her dazed as she landed on the ground. The girl would stand up to her feet taking a moment to reacclimate herself as her arms and back pulsed from the throbbing pain she felt in her now bruised arms, but despite it all she'd look to her with a smile. "That was amazing sensei, was that the true power of the first gate!?” the girl would say as she removed her bandages from her back pocket and wrapped her arms and legs, she had only every scratched the surface but never really got to see a master at work.

"I apologize for underestimating you.” she’d then look to the woman giving her an eager smile. "Okay let’s go!” the woman would say. Her breath heaving with excitement and pain from the sting of the strike that she was struck with. Too much stress to her muscles took a bit out of her but she had only just begun. With that the girl would blitz the older woman once more, putting a spin on her strike with her fist aiming to crush her sturdy defenses but with the speed she had shown her it might be harder than she would’ve realized.

Thankfully the younger kunoichi was not made of glass and did not shatter completely from the impact. Meiko clenched her fists at her words and readied herself. Now she knew what to expect. Now all she had to do was survive and defend herself against the improved speed and strength of the chuunin. "This is just half of what you can expect of the first gate, Asuka-chan." She surged forward to meet the younger woman's strike, Meiko herself twisting and turning to avoid her strike. A well-aimed strike towards the point on Asuka's back between her shoulder blades. If it landed, she would seek to strike again with another series of kicks. The combination was taught in the academy. Predictability might aid Asuka in her defense, she hoped. If she recognized the pattern, of course. [break][break]

Meiko would continue to challenge the jounin with yet another series of strikes and kicks. Whenever an attack or counterattack was launched from Asuka, Meiko would seek to parry and evade the woman. With her striking speed and general movement speed... She would be a sight to behold with the gates in her grasp.[break][break]

The dull ache of where Asuka did connect with her, from before the activation and from the times they clashed in parries, only seemed to spur her on and she had to rely on her steel self-discipline to keep herself from letting loose and coming at the woman with everything she had in this gate state. [break][break]

After they parted after a series of strikes, Meiko exhaled deeply and took to circling the other woman, taking the moment to speak to her;[break][break]

"Push yourself further than you ever have before. Demand more of your body, ignore your chakra. Demand more strength, more speed, more reaction from your muscles! Every fiber in your body needs to be activated and willing to sacrifice itself to defeat me!"[break][break]


Meiko surged forward, looking to blitz attack her once more with a similar maneuver from before. If it landed, she would look to launch Asuka toward the ground with a circle kick. Usually, the lotus would be more convenient, but death was not the goal here.

As the girl continued to fight the older woman would she’d charge towards her using the same pattern as before but Asuka recognizing this would follow her using her chakra senses and would launch her foo backwards with a snap kick towards the woman’s abdomen with the added heft of the bandages allowing her to deal an extra bit of damage however she’d pull back the forcefulness as to not hurt her teacher but with the speed she had on her side she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to properly land the strike.

She’d heed her masters words however and attempt to tap into a small amount of it’s power in essence to try and feel it out a bit more letting it break slowly over time, rather than a snap opening; it's how she’s been practicing the technique after all. "I need to pace myself acclimate my body to the power and push myself past it.” As she kept fighting she’d feel do her best to break that barrier her body feeling that much sharper and faster if only slightly as the gate creaked.

"Okay…here I go!” with that she’d charge towards the woman and execute a series of strikes two towards the face and a final one to the nose a dizzying display, this fighting style was one of many in her repertoire but one she was trying to distance herself from to a degree clearly she had much to learn. If she was successful she’d turn towards her teacher. "Yes Ma'm! I’ll do my best.” she’d charge towards her instructor using the rabbit walk technique in order to obscure her motions.

[DESCRIPTION]

The user throws out two rapid palm strikes One to the cheek either left or right followed by another strike directly to the nose. This attack is meant to use the first blow to disorient the opponent and then follow up with a quick strike to the face with depending on the strength of the bandage this attack could potentially cause a concussion or even break the bones of the opponents face.

Heavy Handed Iron Fist:
With the rigorous training that Asuka had to endure as she honed her body to levels of perfection rivaling that of any martial arts master. Asuka's strength has increased 10 fold to the point where she is able to crush stoned within her grasp and breaks bones of lesser individuals with ease. And while she still has much to learn as a chunin. The youth's power is not one to be challenged lightly, as she is able to perform physical feats that would seem inhuman to even most shinobi.

Hijutsu: Kinu no Eikyō:
Asuka is a member of the Waruichi clan and as such has the ability to control a special chakra infused silk that was forged by a special group of silkworms that feed on the corpses of dead clansmen. With it Asuka can craft and shape the silk to her will and uses it in a mostly supplementary fashion to aid her in battle alongside her powerful taijutsu skills.

Iron Burst:
As a sole practitioner of Taijutsu Asuka has relentlessly pushed her body against itself for spectacular results: her strength carries over into her speed, and as such alongside the control she exerts body in spirit and in mind, she is intensely faster than those of a similar level of strength and maneuvering expertly as if the air were an extension of her own body.

A Disciplined Iron Bull:
During Asuka's time as a genin the youth had begun to realize that in order to excel as a shinobi she needed to learn how to properly utilize her chakra. And while she doesn't posses the greatest of reserves the youth has learned through rigorous meditation how to keep her chakra still and calm. As a result she is now able to wield it with a great deal of control and is able to channel only the necessary amounts of chakra into the few jutsu she uses in order to make the most of their abilities whilst still being able to keep up in a fight.

First, a kick. Snapping and blitzing to anyone but those who had devoted themselves to the art of taijutsu. Those who honed their bodies beyond any standard found, those who would see the strikes, would see it and act upon instincts and their extensive experience with hand-to-hand combat. Meiko met the special jounin with the same spirit and fire, her kick was narrowly avoided, but Meiko went free of the damage it otherwise would have delivered. [break][break]

As they fought Meiko could not help the inspiration and motivation welling up inside her. The way Asuka's hits snapped from their standard position and into action was impressive. It was swifter than any she had fought before. Had she not unlocked the speed the first gate granted, then she might not have been able to see, let alone dodge the hits Asuka was dishing out. Meiko listened to her, barely. She figured the young woman was simply talking to herself, reminding herself of what she had experienced in the past when she was playing around with the gates... And she did indeed improve. If it was some hidden reserve she had stashed away and was afraid of using against an ally, then she had been holding back quite a great deal. With everything taken into account, it was likely not a hidden reserve, but exactly what they were out here digging for. The Gates. [break][break]

She was so close. Meiko kept the same speed as she had before when Asuka advanced. Thrilled and focused, Meiko dodged to the best of her ability, Asuka grazing her. Darn, that will sting... A shout and a follow-up charge, zigzagging toward her Meiko leaped backward "Come on! Don't dance around the gate, break through and demand to use the entire power your body possesses!"and then she surged forward again, hoping to give Asuka a bit of pause and therefore interrupt her train of thought. Meiko went on the offensive and would launch flurries of kicks, elbows, sweeps, and punches at the special jounin, turning up the speed and strength, just a little more and she would be going at full power... Hopefully, Asuka would pull herself together, break the dam, and finally step into the rush the first gate granted.
