Mairusu almost felt bad for the pirates as he watched the last of their ships go up in flames and wondered if those guys would have tried it had they known this ship had a good number of shinobi on it. Unfortunately, their surprise appearance had woken the boy up from his sleep so his well of pity had run dry. Eventually, as if Yaki had been wrestling with the idea of answering his question, she would retort that even though she knew the foundational shinobi jutsu and a couple others relying too heavily on jutsu instead of the basics of a shinobi was foolish. The genin didn't agree completely --mostly because he was part of that targeted group-- but understood his fellow apprentice's point nonetheless.

"Yeah that makes sense I guess." Mairusu would reply while surveying the immediate waterscape around them. Between what lighting their was on the deck of the ship and the burning wreckage around them it was a wild sight and amazingly enough didn't cost them much in the way of chakra. With their pirate adventure done before it could even really get started there was little else to do aside from get back to doing what they were before: sleeping. "Yep, don't have to tell me twice." The boy replied with a nod, more than ready to try and get back the zzz's that had been so abruptly taken from him.
