The fight had been hard and long, well at least to Takame's standards, yet he emerged victorious. Granted it was by mere seconds as he had suffered quite a few injuries himself from the fight, but his opponent was so difficult to handle. Summons were quite frightening and the fact he had dispelled them was probably purely luck. Still, he was proud of what he did, but now he was in recovery sitting in the medical tent offered for those who finished their fight and need to be recovered before the second round of the exams ended.

Takame was healed pretty quickly by the medics but was asked to stay back a bit so they could monitor him a little longer while they took care of others. One of the others they were caring for was his opponent from the match who suffered from a concussion from the fight. Takame had to admit he was impressed by the other boy's fighting style and could learn quite a bit from him, but he would need to wait for the boy to awaken before he could talk to him about his training and technics. So Takame would merely sit and wait for the blue-haired youth to awaken from his slumber.

Konsho had found the fight satisfactory. He gave it his all, and though he lost, his opponent apparently went down with him. Had it been an actual mission, it would have been a joint loss- which is much better than a total loss. His mind still did it's annoying habit of pointing out how he could have done things differently for a better outcome. But he was certain that was the best outcome he could have gotten. Speaking of his mind however, the pulsing pain told him it was time for another dose. A swig of water, some floating pills, and a quick annoyed gulp. Another few minutes and the pain would fade.

Konsho was currently nursing a concussion, much to his annoyance as a person who's mind felt barely connected to his body. Which meant long periods of rest. Soon after the pills Konsho closed his eyes and would return to the sweet wonderful short lived experience of death that was unconsciousness. When he awoke, the boy could hear a couple of birds calling outside, a comforting noise he had almost forgotten in his time away from Tsuchi no Kuni. That reminicing however was lost when he noticed a new presence in the room. His opponent.... this was new.

Of course in the weirdness of this all Konsho forgot to actually say anything to the boy, merely staring in seeming confusion.

Time would pass and things were getting boring sitting here waiting for Konsho to awaken. Takame ended up taking to conversing with the birds to pass the time. They were interesting, to say the least as they had different conversations than the crows from back home. Not as talkative, but much more receptive to him being able to converse back to them to some degree. unlike the crows back home which were a bit feral and would mostly ask for food or treats these birds seemed wise beyond their years. Probably from the environment being so drastically different from back home in Kumo.

Takame wouldn't notice that Konsho had awoken and would only notice when one of the birds coo to him and alerted him of him being awake. Turning to Konsho he saw the boy staring at him and crossed his arms in defiance before asking, "Why are you staring?" It was a direct question because honestly, Takame didn't like the whole idea of being watched by another especially since he had been watched all his life by other clan members. So seeing someone outside of the clan staring was even stranger to him. At least this wouldn't lead to him being in trouble so there was some silver lining to this.

Konsho seemed unfazed by the other boy's bluntness, even if deep down he appreciated it. Right now, the shinobi was more confused as to what was going on. "Why are you here?" Konsho would pause for a brief instance as he tried to wrap his brain around it. "I doubt you're here because you like birds too. As far as I know you don't really visit someone after you fight them unless you either did something wrong or you have the time to gloat and little else. You were the victor so you didn't do anything wrong, and I don't think you are the type of person to have the lack of self respect to do that." In fact if that were the case he would have done so by now. "So... you have to be here for something. I don't really see why you'd visit me over other members of your village or anyone else." Now that he was regaining his faculties, Konsho also thought of the fact that this boy was here to learn Takigakure secrets. But playing dumb was a simple but effective way to avoid that- especially when you're famous as 'the ape boy'.

He was direct with his question and honestly Takame could appreciate it even if the two were just facing each other in a match. So he couldn't blame him if held animosity to Takame for ending up the victor in the match not that Takame felt it was much of a win. If anything it was pure luck he won their match, but he would take it as a win was a win, but if they had been both in perfect fighting conditions the results would have easily been different.

Konsho even commented that someone being here would only make sense if they had ulterior motives which made Takame chuckle a bit. Something rare coming from him, but he couldn't help and be amused by the statement. There was some truth to it that Takame would probably gloat to his opponent if he had thrashed him or even ask questions if he had lost, but honestly, he was here for the same reason as Konsho to heal.

"Relax I'm here because they wanted me to stay to monitor my recovery. Your summons did a number on me and the medics wanted to make sure there weren't any lasting effects." Takame would turn his head over to where his cot was pointed to it to give Konsho some sort of ease on his reasoning for being here. "You wouldn't be wrong about the birds though," Takame would add as he gave the bird a slight pat before it flew off. "I tend to favor the company of birds than most people so they tend to flock to me in return," Takame would say as he leaned against the ledge of the window peeking out at the sky and wondering just what it was like to fly free above the clouds like the birds his clan watched over. He would take a deep breath as he closed his eyes thinking about how free the birds were.

The boy's answer was... well an explanation but a poor one. He could have easily stayed in his room as he recovered from their match, there was no need for him to be in the same room as Konsho. But the answer itself silently told the actual answer- he wasn't telling Konsho why he was visiting. The subject was closed and even if Konsho did care he was in no shape to pry. Although, there was the chance that the boy simply was not aware of why he felt the need to visit consciously. Shaking his head Konsho would not bother to pry, understanding the want for privacy. What followed did serve as an interesting opportunity for bonding though, as it seemed Takame also had a love for avian creatures. "I have a similar bond with apes- although mine can speak like you and me."

Pausing for a few seconds, Konsho would straighten himself in his bed as he listened to the singing birds outside- blissfully unaware that his opponent could make out actual words in their titter-patter. "I missed their songs. An old friend once taught me about music. Since I've been able to hear the music in anything- even nature. Even the chaotic screeching of frightened crows has a melody to it. It's relaxing." Perhaps it was unwise to share this information with a potential enemy, but it was a page of Konsho's life that was closed and mattered only to him. It gave his opponent no advantage.

Takame could understand the other boy and his bond with the apes since he had his bond with crows or with any bird for that fact. So it was nice to find someone with some common ground even if it wasn't in the best of circumstances. So there was a bit of kinship between the two of them that went unspoken due to the similarities they had. It certainly made Takame feel more at peace inside than he normally was around other people. It was like the turmoil that afflicted him from Azarea or the sense of isolation he got from his family. This was something nice and different, but also familiar.

Konsho would begin speaking and talking about the songs of the birds. Calling the bird's manner of speaking screeching and melodic. This honestly made Takame chuckle slightly. "Yeah they can be something," Takame would respond knowing full well often not their squawks were either them courting with themselves or yelling at people to get away from their territory. Most birds weren't that friendly with humans so the fact he probably didn't understand them made a lot of sense to the bird boy.

A bird would fly into the room as he spoke and land on Takame's shoulder. One that he had used during the exams. Grabbing into his pocket Takame pulled out some bird seed and spoke to the bird, "There we go eat up little guy." The bird seemed to understand him as it began pecking at the food obediently. He would then turn back to Konsho and say, "Got to repay this one for the help he gave me during the first round." Sure the bird probably didn't need to be thanked, but it was polite and to Takame it deserved a lot of praise for its help.

Konsho was surprised to see the boy who had been so vehemently fighting him earlier having such a tender moment with a small bird. The blue haired boy was certain he had misread the other genin at this point- which was certainly not a first. Konsho was never good at reading people; their facial expressions, reasoning behind their reactions, unnamed rules- it was all a mystery to him. Often his social interactions felt like playing a song without any of the notes, electric shocks filling your muscles any time you make on misstep. He despised them somewhere deep within his core, and hated them all the more for his reliance on them for mental stability.

Yet in moments like these; with all the pompous expectations, idiotic pride, and anxiety infused railing stripped away. Replaced with soft, calm emotion, an acceptance of the life around them. There no expectations, no thoughtful consideration of word choice or physical action required of either. There was simple the two of them peacefully existing in the world they inhabited. In Konsho's mind, these moments caused the lifeless materials around him to fade into mere detail work, while the living world around him flourish.the wind swirling from creature to creature, the trees' breathing in tune with that unseen zephyr. During such moments, Konsho would simply observe the world around him, letting the silence speak through the rare intimacy within the unfeeling cosmic existence that the world was. Words were distractions, and these moments were to be felt; for as long as they would last. Life: simply as it is.

Takame wasn't sure why he was being so open about how he was around birds, especially with how prickly he was around other people there was just some sort of kinship between him and Konsho. An unspoken bond that Takame felt pulled the two of them together. Had they been in the same villages growing up they probably would have been very close friends, but sadly fate had other plans in mind. Still, the small moment they were having here today was something that would go down in Takame's mental history even if he was more paying attention to the bird than to Konsho.

As the bird pecked happily at the bird seed in Takame's hand other birds seemed to fly in wanting in on some of the action and a genuine smile appeared on Takame's face as they kept swarming him. As if they were looking for more food a few would nip and peck at him searching for food to gather from him. A few would nip at sensitive spots in his body and he couldn't help himself from laughing. "St-stop it," he would say lightly waving his free arm at them to gently swat them away only for a lot of them to think he was playing with them. "You can all have some food just be patient," he would say laughing still the presence of Konsho practically leaving his mind as he was now in a world of his own.

One of Konsho's crooked smiles would slowly make its way across his face, a rare treat in the young adult's life. As a small swarm of birds approached Takame, yet another rarity would find its way to Konsho's form; a brief chuckle at the strange event he was witness to. His past hospital visits had been laden with focused studies and disease or major injuries- the scars on his ankles being evidence of those incidents. To have such a strangely whimsical and heart warming event play out in a room he associated with recovery and unforeseen circumstances was a beauty to behold.

The young shinobi would make no commentary on the events plays before him, even as the birds chirped in a strange song of play and demands. Konsho felt a kinship with Takame, certain his exterior expressions were just as straight faced as Konsho's own, and so he would leave the genin to enjoy the moment- just as Konsho would silently ask of others. Konsho could see a nurse currently undergoing a silent crisis as she figured out how she should handle the situation, the red eyed boy hoping she would simply let it be. Takame seemed to have a bond with the birds, one that had Konsho certain he could wrangle the birds if they caused any trouble.

He wasn't aware of his surroundings at all and the fool he was making of himself with the presence of the birds. His guard was down rather than up like it normally was and this was dangerous. Yet Takame didn't care the birds never judged him and he had caused Konsho to vanish from his mind as he played and enjoyed their company, but that wouldn't last long. The noise the bird's chirps would make along with Takame's laughs and comments caused a sort of commotion in the room. This attracted the attention of one of the nurses who peeked their head into the room causing the birds to scatter.

Takame's smile faded quickly as his bird friends flew away from the unsolicited visitor. Putting his hands in his pockets he threw so bird seeds out the window to let the birds pick at them when they felt comfortable again, but Takame's mood had turned foul now. A scowl back on his face he looked at the nurse and practically shouted, "What?" The nurse would apologize and say she was just checking on the patients in the room, both of them, before continuing on her way. Takame watched the woman leave the room and then turn to Konsho becoming well aware of what he was like in front of the other teen. His face mixed with embarrassment and disgust as he muttered, "Whatever." Then he stormed out of the room to get away from another possible embarrassing scenario.
