2 AM, Outskirts of Amegakure, Stormy Weather


The night was cold. As cold as the dark, rain filled sky above. Cracks of thunder creaked in the distance, and the wet roads made travel a difficulty. It was a particularly heavy storm tonight, and most folks had buttoned up their hatches hours ago, having long since fallen asleep or bundled towards other distractions.

Most folk, however, were not the Shinobi standing before the large, factory like construct on the outskirts of the village. The building was clearly in a half-finished state, but anyone who was sent to work on it, much like the rest of the village, had long since gotten off work, leaving only a skeleton crew of two to protect it. 

But why would such a thing need protection? Even without the crummy storm overhead, it wasn't as though bandits would want to rob a construction site. No, the truth of the matter was, there were far more... Devious, figures in the shadows, who were looking to stir up trouble and cause distress.

The mission statement was rather clear in its notes. The two Shinobi of Amegakure were to protect the construction site every night, overnight, for the better part of two weeks while building finished. It was a boring job, and one that would have otherwise been little more then a D-Rank mission, if not for the threats the foreman had received not more then half a month back, after the announcement of the building had been released to the public.

Indeed, it seemed, there were those in deep recesses that were not so keen on the industrialization of the workforce in Amegakure. While factories were usually a good sign, the change from handmade to machinery based work meant many would be out of jobs- Amongst a host of other unintended side effects. But it was faster, more profitable, and made for more consistent products- Whatever those products might be.

But, those who were displeased had left more then a few threatening notes over it. It wasn't something that could be ignored, and while it was unknown exactly what kind of muscle backed up these threats, there was no doubt that something was out there- Someone, or some people, willing to cause problems.

Which was why Taro and his companion were out here, crouched in the rain over a warm lamp, with little more then a steel girder protecting them from the torrential downpour. Well, the girder and, in Taro's case, the hood of his green cloak. They had been at this for some time- It wasn't as though this was a one night subject, after all- And by now, Taro was beginning to run out of patience.

In truth, he could sympathize with those who were against industrialization and modernization in general- But he disliked these underhanded tactics, and more then that, he hated it when his time was wasted. As easy as it would be to say this was a good C-Rank mission to get under his belt and ryo for free, it would be very unlike the teen to not want some form of conflict. After all, ryo unearned through proper work felt like a cheap cop-out.

Still, it didn't change what he was doing here. His hands were near the lamp, and he currently had some of his ration out- He'd packed enough for the night, after all. Not like there were any places open this late for him to grab food from. He was munching on the hard, crunchy bread like substance in his hand, his attention rather taken away from duty or otherwise- Though he'd hoped that his teammate was on it instead. This was his lunchbreak, after all.

"I'm starting to think those threats were bogus. Feels like we're just wasting our time here protecting jack diddly." He grumbled, as he sat back on a dry patch of ground.

"I mean, at this rate, you'd think they'd just, throw a bomb or something at the place. Unless their goal is to bore us to death before they hit the factory." He muttered, an idle through staring at the mind as he chewed on another bite of his bread.

It was looking to be another boring night, and Taro was going to add onto it with his classic complaining. How did he manage to convince someone to go on this mission with him in the first place, again?

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Sakurayashiki didn’t hate rainfall, he had spent time outdoors long enough that he was quite used to it. But even someone used to the rainfall would grow irritated being stuck under this deluge for hours on end. Even Kaede was starting to become annoyed, if the ears lying flat against his head were any sign.

The boy was in the saddle, hunched over the horse’s neck, huddled into his cloak trying to ward off the chill the rain was causing. His partner had managed to find a small dry spot and was currently enjoying a small meal break while Sakura kept a look out over the area.

Having been assigned to guard a construction site wasn’t the most exciting of duties, but it was a duty that Sakura willingly chose to do. He was trying to rebuild up a rapport after he had taken a furlough, so no mission was too low for him. Even something as boring and uneventful as this one had been shaping up to be.

He had heard about the threats towards the construction site, but there hadn’t been any activity yet. Still, there was plenty of time before morning, so who knew what could happen. He needed to remain vigilant.

Sakura risked a glance over at Taro as he spoke, grumbling about the situation they were in. He huffed out a small laugh but secretly was worried they were provoking fate with the bomb comment. He really hoped the dissidents' dislike of technology extended to large explosives.

Kaede snorted, pawing at the mud in displeasure. The horse shook his entire body, sending water spraying from his mane and tail, futilely trying to get dry. Sakura would have to spend horse rubbing him down after this, probably would have to give him a bunch of treats as well.

"At least it’s been quiet tonight," he said, patting the horse’s neck. He would take a boring mission where nothing happened over a difficult fight. But when was he ever that lucky?

Born into the Muten Branch of the Tenchi Clan, and despite being of mixed heritage, Sakurayashiki was lucky enough to be one of the few members graced with the blood mutation that allows him to wield the element of Shōton. While he is able to create the crystals at will, he's not the best at ninjutsu which effects the potency of his jutsu when he does use them.

Unlike others in his clan, who's Shōton manifests a pink color, Sakura's crystals appear pale green in color, similar to jadeite. This is simply an aesthetic change and doesn't effect the strength of the crystals.

『Crystalline Control』

While not born with the largest of the of chakra wells, Sakura has spent a majority of his younger life learning to properly mold his chakra so he didn't waste any of it when using techniques in combat.

He's turned manipulating his chakra into a fine art, rivaling the control of medics or puppeteers, and he doesn't misuse even a tiny bit of the energy on unnecessary flash. He's able to last in battle for quite a long while, compared to those without control, thanks to this control.

⚠ Random Scenario ! Thunder rumbled, and lightning filled the darkness. Then, it rumbled again, louder this time and without light. It was peculiar, and there was a strange burnt smell in the air. Then, a boom. That’s right, a boom. Both genin would come to realize that the sound was far too loud to be thunder. Something nearby was exploding. It was Taro who would see him first. A figure soaring through the sky as if they were launched out of a cannon, in the middle of the air with a trajectory that was moving straight over the security fence of the under construction factory and past their post. They were wearing a blue garb with a strange white helmet that had a little pink bon bon sort of antenna that was bouncing in the air. Sakura and Taro would both clock him as yet another explosion rocked through the air, pushing him forward even further. The bushy browed man in the helmet tilted his head to the side, and glared at them as he passed overhead. He began curling up his legs towards his chest, preparing to make a landing some twenty meters behind them. There were still a few seconds before he would reach the ground, and he seemed as if he might be open to an attack if either of the genin were to take the initiative. The storm was the perfect cover for his activities. There was no doubt the mysterious rocketeer was using the natural thunder to keep more distant authorities from being alerted too quickly. Meanwhile, an additional figure’s head briefly popped out from a nearby offsite rubbish pile. They had mud smeared on their face and wore a straw hat that kept the rain from them. The glint of glass from a pair of binoculars would meet with a flash of lightning in the distance to reveal his position for a passing moment. Sakura would spot this, but would it be wise to pursue interest in the watcher while Taro faced the bombastic brute that was upon them? Startled by the sudden explosion, Taro nearly dropped what he was holding in his hand as his eyes shot up towards the sky. That was no thunder- And his suspicions were all but confirmed as he saw a flash of something go off in the air. His eyes caught the appearance of someone rushing through the air, and for a moment, time slowed down.

Taro was no tactical fighter. His way of battle was upfront, forward, and often throwing himself into danger. But even someone like him could see the danger in fighting anyone using bombs up front and center. There was still time before he hit the ground. He had to think fast if he wanted to catch this man off guard. 

Suddenly, an idea was sprung to mind. Flinging his cloak off with his left hand, Taro began the short sprint forward to meet his opponent. A few quick seals, his hands flung out, and... In that instant? A splash of water beneath where the opponent was assumed to land. 

A nice, slippery landing for the overhead opponent, as Taro aimed to crack the distance between the two. It was a simple way to start the fight, but at this point, Taro assumed words didn't need to be traded- This guy meant business, which is exactly what Taro meant, too.

He didn't even notice the person watching them. Hopefully Sakura was picking up what Taro was putting down here, because some non-verbal communication was going to be absolutely key here if they were to defeat this one, sole threat that totally didn't have anyone else getting involved.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]The loud sound of an explosion had Sakura sitting up straight as Kaede neighed loudly, pawing at the muddy ground. His hand was immediately on his bow, drawing it up as he also came to the same conclusion of the noise not being thunder. Turning his eyes skyward, even against the pouring rain, he could see the foreign shape moving through the sky.

Flying people. Why?

He pressed his knee into Kaede’s side and the horse wheeled around with a snort. But as he moved a flash of light that wasn’t lightning caught the genin’s attention. It was enough to make him pause in his pursuit after Taro, and as he focused through the rainfall, the shape of a person with either goggles or binoculars came into view.

That posed a conundrum. Looking wasn’t illegal, and Sakura had no idea if what the onlooker was doing was nefarious, or just mere curiosity. In Sakura’s opinion, keeping an eye on them while focusing on the current threat would be the best course of action.

He kicked Kaede with his heels and the horse took off after Taro, easily gaining. As they ran, Sakura pulled a steel-headed arrow from the quiver at his side and knocked it into his bow. The bonus about the flying guy using explosions is that it made them a decent target. Pulling back the bowstring and aiming, compensating for the wind and rain, he would let the arrow fly towards the man, hoping to hit him before he hit the ground.

"Taro," he called out over the storm. "We got a watcher on our backs." He needed to make sure the other boy knew about the other possible threat. Sakura grabbed the reins and brought his horse to a halt and pulled out a wooden arrow, knocking it and readying it to fire in any direction he could need depending on what happened next.

DASTARDLY BOSS

While the figure was in mid-aid, he noticed an arrow flying towards him when he looked back towards the guardians of the factory. He tried to throw his elbow downwards to shift his trajectory, but the projectile shifting places caught him off guard. He gave a pained groan as it embedded into his upper left shoulder. Then, as he came to land, he slipped on his landing and did a mixture between a baseball slide and a wipeout.

Eyebrows flared, the shinobi sprang to his feet and faced his new foes. His eyebrows scrunched together showing frustration, he spit on the ground and formed a single hand seal. Appearing next to him was another version of himself, minus the arrow, that shadow clone turned and started running towards the factory.

"You had better stay out of my way, I don’t have time for mercy today,” the original said, not budging from his spot. He appeared to be sizing the two shinobi up, and watching carefully to defend against whatever tricks they might have planned next.

His strategy became clear. The original was going to prevent their pursuit of the clone, who continued forward moving in sporadic zigzags to attempt to avoid any attacks that may come. These genin were not their objective, merely obstacles in the way of it.

There was no apparent movement from the potential scout hiding nearby.

The Kage Bunshin technique evenly distributes your chakra between one or more clones with form and substance.

The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.

When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

DESCRIPTION:
Usagi Sanpo is the art of moving really fast, in a nonlinear direction. The user approaches the target in a zig-zag pattern, pouncing left and right while facing the opponent. Due to speed of the movement, and the irregular pattern, they are often confused as to when or how to strike, thus leaving them aghast until it's too late.

An arrow shot past Taro's head and into the opponents shoulder. He was still closing the distance himself, but it seemed his opponent had stopped and begun to talk.

Now, a good man would take clear advantage of an opponent speaking in the midst of combat. A good shinobi might even capitalize on it. But Taro was not quite an experienced Shinobi yet- Nor was he really that great at his job.

"Heh... Good. I was about to say the same thing." Of... Course. Taro stopped and confronted his would be opponent. His eyes were still on the clone, but he could spare a moment to speak to the injured enemy.

"Make sure that watcher stays off our backs. I'll deal with this chump." He shot back at his ally. If nothing else, Taro certainly had a level of confidence. Whether that was unfounded or not, well...

Charging forward, Taro knew he had to act fast, but clever was how he was going to play this. Slinging out two blades, he'd match distance with his foe. Taro's act was to get in close. It was a risky thing- Dangerous, even, as he seemed to be leaving himself completely open for a counter...

But there was a method to this madness. As he broke within just a few meters, Taro would thrust one of his blades forward. This moved in body in the way he needed- As one of the grappling hooks would fly out of his ODGM. It's target was the clone.

Now, Taro didn't know if the clone was a normal clone, or a more advanced clone. But considering it was running away from this guy, it had to had present some kind of danger, especially with the movements it was making. And if it wasn't, well...

Then Taro was gambling on missing. Because if he missed his shot or hit, it didn't really matter. A hit would be great to bring down the opponent- But if it missed, or went through the clone, it was still on a steady trajectory behind it to the side of the building.

And as the rest of his body moved in closer to the opposing Shinobi, Taro would suddenly reel the line. The intent was clear at that point- One blade would aim to cut across his opponents chest, while the rest of his body rocketed forwards towards the building, or the clone. Whichever was hit.

The first attack, the primary one, had been merely a distraction to shoot the grappling hook forward. And the second attack was simply a follow up of the reel-in. This of course left Taro with an opening where he was a pretty good target- But he was hoping his unconventional tactics would grant him the window of opportunity he needed to escape danger.

-Reeling in the pulley system while in close range with the opposing clone, using his momentum to try and speed past his opponent while potentially striking him across the chest. (Light Constant Drain)

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]The corner of Sakura’s mouth twitched up into a grin as his arrow seemed to strike its target, sending the strange flying man tumbling to the ground. But he quickly sobered up, nocking his second arrow as the man wiped out on Taro’s slippery surface.

Kaede snorted, pawing at the muddy ground, but Sakura kept him steady, not letting him move forward. Even though he wanted to charge, his rider didn’t want to risk the stallion losing his footing by accident on the slippery ground that laid ahead.

The moment there was talking coming from the man, Sakura took advantage of him announcing his location by loosing the wooden arrow at him. He hoped that it would give Taro the distraction he needed to go after the clone unhindered.

He glanced back at the watcher at Taro’s command. Whoever it was hadn’t made a move, he could still see the glint of glass whenever the lightning struck. There wasn’t much he could do without leaving Taro to deal with the flying man and the clone by himself.

He couldn't do that. Instead, he pulled out two explosive arrows and twisted in the saddle, letting Kaede watch the boom man and he fired them both, one to the left and the other to the right, before setting them off. The smokescreen spread out from the points, most likely obscuring the watchers view. It wouldn’t last long, with the wind and rain, but it would buy a little time.

As he whipped back around, Sakura molded his chakra into his mouth and fired five crystalline green needles at the original man, trying to catch him off guard and debilitate him. Hopefully, Taro could handle the clone.

The explosion is comparable with a powerful explosion tag, sending sharp bits of wood and metal in all directions around it. Blast zone is roughly 10 meter radius.

This technique doesn't require the use of hand seals, instead, the user must simply knead chakra within their body, which is transformed into a Shōton shaped senbon that can be expelled at a high velocity from the users mouth. The user can knead one senbon at a time while aiming for the target's vitals or expel all five of them simultaneously in an attempt to catch the enemy off guard.

The nukenin began moving to intercept Taro, which became difficult as he began moving with his ODMG, but self preservation kicked in as he saw the mounted archers arrow fly. He brought up his arms, which seemed rather bulky, and blocked the first arrow. Sakura would be able to make the determination that he was wearing some sort of gauntlets that were designed to help him block incoming projectiles, and perhaps protect him from the shrapnel of his own jutsu.

"Watch out!” he yelled.

As the explosion kicked up a smokescreen around him, he took advantage of the lack of sight on him, even as his ears were ringing. He made four hand seals, and three additional clones appeared next to him. Two of the copies ran after Taro, and two of them began bounding towards Sakura. They ran in a zig-zag pattern, trying to increase the likelihood that they would miss.

Taro’s launch towards the shadow clone was successful, but the shadow clone had heard a warning from its original and turned to face the coming genin. He pushed his hands backwards, and the sound of a small explosion ripped from his hands and propelled him towards Taro. The speed of the explosion made him move like a bullet towards them, head first. The strike itself would be quite physical, and if it hit Taro the impact would be on the hardened helmet he wore on his head.

In the distance, the scout popped up from his hiding place. They drew an arrow back and shot it towards Sakura, taking careful aim.

This jutsu is powerful enough to smash through solid stone and break bones. The user travels in a straight line once the technique has been activated, even the Rocket Propulsion Technique being unable to alter their course. These blasts, just like the Rocket Propulsion Technique, are very concentrated, making them unable to cause damage to an opponent unless direct contact is made with the user's hand.

DESCRIPTION:
A simple, direct, and efficient technique. The user readies a bow and arrow, sacrificing rate of fire to provide a more accurate (though not necessarily stronger) shot instead. This technique helps firing a bow mitigate other obstacles as well such as high winds or heavy rain. The focus required on this technique means it is prone to disruption, and leaves the user vulnerable in melee. It also requires them to remain stationary for its use in order to minimize the amount of factors that need to be calculated per shot.

Taro had successfully attacked, it seemed. Missed the target with the hook, but at least he still had momentum. Unfortunately, that momentum was quickly looking like it was going towards a crashing momentum of the clones own.

... This was the clone, right? That explosion, that rocketing towards Taro... Who was rocketing towards the Clone. Crap. He had no way to stop or slow this down. Only one thing to do then. Strike back. As he continued to fling himself towards this clone, he played into his own assault by slamming shoulder first into his opponents head.

It was a very, very painful thing to do. Even with his blade blocking the helmet, the sheer force was enough to send Taro flying backwards- And the pain that rippled through his arm said it was quite clearly dislocated from the strike. Left arm down. But his right was still in action, and as the clone crashed into him, Taro would aim to stab his blade right through his opponents shoulder blade. It was a hit for a hit- Taro was willing to take a stuttering blow if it meant his opponent would also have to take one!

...Even if it was just a clone. It'd buy them some time, which was just as important here. Regardless of whether his own stab went into his opponent, Taro would be sent flying backwards, crashing into the ground and flipping shoulder over shoulder a few times before he was able to right himself, rearing just close towards one of the metal steel pillars at the construction site.

Pain seared through his arm, and he had no idea the condition of his opponent. He pushed himself up to one knee, and began weaving a set of five handseals. Kicking off the ground again, and letting the searing pain run through his veins, Taro would launch himself over the metal bars with both hands as he set up a proper substitution, readying himself to intercept another one of the opponents clones.

"Just how many of you do I have to kill?!"

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Kneading chakra into his mouth, Sakura created five needles out of pale green crystal, just as the two figures emerged from the smoke cloud. Launching the needles in a fan formation, one of the figures would end up zigzagging right into the needles, while the other would manage to dodge and close in on Sakura.

Kaede’s reaction was immediate, rearing back onto his hind legs with a shrill neigh, striking out with his front hooves. Sakura would compensate for the sudden change in stability by leaning forwards, hugging against the horse’s neck.

It was sheer luck that Kaede’s movement would get Sakura out of the direct line of fire from the incoming arrow, but the two of them didn’t actually move all that far. Pain lanced down Sakura’s arm, and he let out a shout, as the arrow glanced against his back and shoulder, leaving a large gash in its wake.

Kaede landed back down, hooves crashing through the second clone, dispersing it into smoke, and Sakura kicked at his sides, pulling at the reins, and urged the horse to whirl around and begin charging at the watcher. With touches of his heels, Kaede would zigzag, not staying in one path too long.

He pulled another metal tipped arrow from his quiver and aimed at the Scout while the horse ran, taking in the wind and the sudden changes of Kaede before launching the arrow at the watcher. It’d cut through the wind and rain before suddenly surging forward with a huge burst of speed. Hopefully enough to catch the figure off guard.

Kaede would continue charging until they were close and Sakura would slide from the saddle, while forming a couple of handseals. A pale green crystalline sword appeared in his hand as he began zigzagging towards the Scout.

A metal arrow head meant to be attached to an arrow. It easily cuts into the target, the drop after the head ends makes it harder to pull out and will cause additional damage if pushed out as well.

This technique doesn't require the use of hand seals, instead, the user must simply knead chakra within their body, which is transformed into a Shōton shaped senbon that can be expelled at a high velocity from the users mouth. The user can knead one senbon at a time while aiming for the target's vitals or expel all five of them simultaneously in an attempt to catch the enemy off guard.

Cho'onboya [Arrow Sonic Boom]

The user charges their arrow with chakra and then fires it using a bow. During midflight on command the user will have the arrow use up the chakra. The chakra will create a sort of burst behind the arrow, almost like a wave which the arrow will "ride" forward. This burst wave will double the speed of the arrow, making it a sudden trap that could prove deadly for an opponent who is not expecting it.

Born into the Muten Branch of the Tenchi Clan, and despite being of mixed heritage, Sakurayashiki was lucky enough to be one of the few members graced with the blood mutation that allows him to wield the element of Shōton. While he is able to create the crystals at will, he's not the best at ninjutsu which effects the potency of his jutsu when he does use them.

Unlike others in his clan, who's Shōton manifests a pink color, Sakura's crystals appear pale green in color, similar to jadeite. This is simply an aesthetic change and doesn't effect the strength of the crystals.

『Crystalline Control』

While not born with the largest of the of chakra wells, Sakura has spent a majority of his younger life learning to properly mold his chakra so he didn't waste any of it when using techniques in combat.

He's turned manipulating his chakra into a fine art, rivaling the control of medics or puppeteers, and he doesn't misuse even a tiny bit of the energy on unnecessary flash. He's able to last in battle for quite a long while, compared to those without control, thanks to this control.

The shadow clone that attacked Taro dispersed shortly after the impact of the attack thanks to the blade managing to dent the inside of the helm and cause a minor wound, sending its chakra back to the original.

Taro’s interception of some of the clones running towards Sakura would end with the first one he came into contact with dispersing. It wasn’t a shadow clone like the previous one, something more like the academy jutsu but with further refinement that made it more realistic.

The second stopped and grinned. "Unlucky for you, you found me. You are already wounded, you won’t be able to pull that off again, idiot.”

There was something laced in the air, chakra that Taro had no means to detect.

Then, he made another shadow clone. The original moved to engage Taro, attempting to grapple and grasp him into a hold rather than hit him with his fists, while the shadow clone once again began running towards the factory.

Sakura’s evasion would be quite successful, as both of his pursuers were revealed to be simple clones without substance. The scout that fired upon him previously stumbled back and fell over as an arrow struck the ground an inch from his foot. He dropped his bow and scrambling to pick it up as he tried to run off.

But they had no chance of outrunning a horse. They were perfectly visible now. They were probably no older than Sakura, had black warpaint smeared on their cheeks. Their hair was dirty brown beneath a camouflage cowl. They panted and realized their hopelessness, and drew another arrow.

He fired it off, but it was a shaky shot that flew high The youth was standing in the open now, with nowhere to run and no arrow knocked.

Kaiyowai Omoi is an interesting and ever useful technique. This genjutsu triggered by the user calling the target an idiot while lacing their voice with the appropriate level of chakra. The effects of this technique can be devastating and can easily turn the tide of a battle. This technique causes the target to envision every idea they have failing horribly. For example if a ninjutsu user considered utilizing the Mountainous Earth technique, they might envision the user being able to escape the area and them being out of chakra afterward.

He got another clone. Sheesh, just how many clones did this freak have?

Taro was about to lose it and go after yet another clone, when a voice called out to him. He had no sensing properties or ability to tell about Genjutsu, so he couldn't distinguish what was being used on him in any way what-so-ever. This put him at a rather severe disadvantage- He'd never seen such a jutsu used before, so it went right past his head.

Well, right past his head and into his brain, that is. At least that previous clone wasn't real, so he wasn't completely broken by the attack. Still... Talk about up against the wall here. He was suddenly grabbed from behind, an opponent trying to keep him held down as he scrambled to get out.

"Damnit, let go of me--" He was stuck, trapped as it were. This guy was going to wrestle him right into an early grave, and there wasn't a whole lot Taro could do to stop it. His last trick was just that- One trick. The guy, as much as Taro hated to admit it, was right. There was no way he could pull off the same thing twice. Not while he was injured, anyways. At least, that's what the Genjutsu had done to him, having very successfully pulled off its little trick.

So Taro would need a new plan for that. For now though, he was more focused on the clone that was grasping his arms, trying to wrestle him to the ground.

"Fine, you want a handful so bad? You better hold on tight, punk!" He still had his equipment on. He couldn't stop the other clone at this point, but he could stop the one that was grabbing onto him by firing the hooks of his ODMG forward, letting them slam into the ground, and then using the pulley system to tear him forward and directly into said ground.

It would likely be painful if it hit, but he was hoping whatever crazy clones this guy was making would be enough absorb most of the blow.

If not? Uh... This was going to hurt. A lot.

"Sakura, Help!" He couldn't take the clone heading for the building on his own though, so he did have to release that quip as he sent himself hurtling forward.

As they neared the scout, Sakura saw the other boy, shakily raise his bow, probably not expecting a large animal to charge him down. Pressing down against the horse’s neck the arrow sailed high, missing the shinobi by a mile.

When Kaede was practically on top of the scout, Sakura would pull on the reins to make him turn sharply so he could slash downwards with his crystal sword. He aimed for the enemy, hoping to strike him down or debilitate him enough so he couldn’t continue to fight back.

But even if he missed with the sword his horse was still in motion, and Kaede would whip around and strike out with his back hooves in a vicious kick that would definitely do some damage if it connected.

Then the call for help sounded across the battlefield. Sakura barely heard it over the sounds of the storm and hoofbeats, but it was there. Taro was in trouble. Hoping he had done enough to the scout, he kicked at Kaede’s sides and the horse launched forward with a shrill neigh. Shattering the crystal sword, Sakura pulled an arrow from Kaede’s quiver and drew it back, aiming it for the person running towards the factory.

He sent a pulse of chakra into the bone-tipped arrow and launched it forwards. The arrow would sail through the air and just when it seemed to be falling, another burst of speed would blast from it and send it hurtling forward the entire distance, hoping to strike the man running towards the factory in the back.

He pulled another arrow, a simple stone arrow, from the quiver as his horse continued to charge. Pulling the bow back, he would aim for the one near Taro, firing the arrow the moment the man got clear from his companion.

He could see the clone getting closer and closer to the factory which meant he only needed to worry about this child before him. This nuisance of an idiotic child who threatened the whole operation, he needed to get rid of him here and now. Yet even this child seemed to be doing their best to put up a fight as they sued their equipment as a propulsion system to slam him into the ground. The hit would cause the man to gasp for breath from the quick pain, but he wasn't about to give up either. Putting his hands forward he would yell, "Eat this!" He would then blast close-range explosions at Taro's face as a way to launch the boy away from him and once the boy was flying away he would concentrate explosions into his feet to push him away from the ground and back to standing.[break][break]

The scout was in shock to see his arrow miss as his body began to shake and tremor from the wild beast approaching him. He didn't sign up for this type of ordeal he didn't even want to be here, but he was and he was reaping the woes from this situation. He saw the sword come slashing his way and in an attempt to block it, he used his bow as a shield. The sword slashed it in half making it worthless. That wouldn't be the only damage the scout would take though as the horse would then kick him with their hooves sending him flying and knocking him out of commission from the fight.[break][break]

Once out of the grips of the brown-haired youth the the man would take notice of the scout having lost his battle and their opponent charging his way. "Great, worthless child," he would mutter to himself as his impatience was growing thin. This was further pushed when his clone heading to the factory was pierced by an arrow by the archer whom his scout failed to distract. He needed to get rid of at least one of these children if this attack was to be finished, but he wouldn't have much time to react as the horsebound child would shoot an arrow his way. The man needed to get out, so he coated his body with flames and flashed away from his current location. Once in a safe location, he would again rely on his clones this time creating two clones. This time he was going to do things himself and run for the factory while his shadow clones would take care of the two children. [break][break]

The clone that was to target Taro would focus chakra into their legs as sparks of ration would begin surrounding them. In an attempt to paralyze the boy out of this battle, he would aim a kick straight for the boy's chest to put him out of commission. The clone headed for the horse rider would do the same technique as the clone that went for Taro, but instead of aiming for the child, it would aim for the horse. The creature was proving to be a menace and needed to be removed completely. Aiming for a kick toward the legs of the creature to stop the wild beast in its tracks.[break][break]
