Keisuke had been waiting in his office for someone to arrive to his office with him being sat at his large oversized desk that was far too big than needed to be, as usual there were piles of paperwork that needed to be finished that Keisuke should probably finish, but didn't at this moment in time, but after his meeting he needed to crack on with finishing the paperwork or his assistant would likely be cross once more, or would get another lecture about maintaining a good image of Hokage and keeping on top off paperwork. It honestly was such a chore, but he knew deep down it needed to be finished.

It was about noon or so and Keisuke had sent a Jounin to meet with his guest to escort him back to his office. Keisuke didn't send the Jounin to make sure he was on time or anything like that as Keisuke was often late to meetings so didn't expect it from his ninja either, though his assistant would be sure to remind Keisuke of the importance of getting to meetings on time. That or his parents giving him another lecture. So for now Keisuke would wait for Uchiha Kai to arrive, when he turned up the Jounin would escort him before knowing his orders to leave the room to the two of them

Hero’s "Presence”

This Hero’s presence is an ability that stems right from Keisuke’s own chakra and with how the man is around others. The man believes that he is a real hero, even though a lot of that is self-proclaimed. His belief that he is a real hero has created something truly special for Keisuke. He has developed a special aura, that stems from his hero "energy” [chakra levels]. This aura can be seen by others, though it can only really be seen clearly when he is in the thrill of battle believing he is a true hero. Out of battle his aura is faint but is sometimes present if he speaks of his hero-like desires. Those who witness his aura ‘might’ believe in him for just a second, whilst they will often deny they believed anything. The doubt is in there minds. In the presence of friends and allies, his aura will truly be seen. His aura to friends and allies will give them a slight boost in confidence and will give them the belief they can win even if they are against it. As a Uzumaki Keisuke's will is yet strengthened by his will and determination even more he will keep going until until he drops dead if he has to.

It was odd. Even though it'd been nearly a week in the hospital, and hours of work with medical shinobi, Kai wasn't feeling any better. The staff, at this point, had to let him go- There wasn't much they could physically do for him other then monitor his health from a distance and see if he improved.

But things didn't really improve. He was still waking up every night with nightmares. His hands still trembled, and his Sharingan would sporadically activate over the slightest thing that could make him jump.

So it was probably no surprise that when he finally entered the Hokage's mansion, there were bags deep under his red, spiral eyes- And bloodstained bandages around his chest, hidden only by a rather flimsy jacket.

He dropped to a knee, almost in a robotic state, as he stared forward at the ground.

"...Ah. S-Sorry, H-Hokage-sama... You... Called me in?" His voice was hoarse, and he was trembling again. The visions of his dead teammates still flashed fresh in his mind. His failure. The disaster. That woman he couldn't put quite remember.

"I apologize, I-I'm..." His Sharingan shut off before Keisuke's very eyes, yet they weren't any less red- Just for different reasons.

"I'm sorry." He muttered, his voice a bit shallow.

Keisuke knew exactly of the event that happened on what was supposed to be a simple mission, it turned out to be a slaughter for all those involved by the Wooden Reaper a missing ninja that had eluded Konoha for some time and with little evidence of her presence left behind except a slaughter in her path, maybe Uchiha Kai had an angel on his side that day, but he had survived against the odds and more likely the Wooden Reaper probably thought he had died which would be a mistake on her part, but that would be a story for another time. At this moment Uchiha Kai needed help that much was clear as this was having an effect on his life, though with time and healing he could turn this into a strength.

Then Keisuke would watch from his seated position Kai go to one need before him. Keisuke could tell the boy was nervous around the Hokage and addressed him with the use of a formal greeting. Keisuke really didn't like all the formal mumble jumble and prefer just to be called by his name. While in certain situations his formal title did make sense, this wasn't one of these times. Next came Kai trying to apologise for something he didn't do anything wrong with, added further by saying sorry to Keisuke. The man simply shook his head and rose from his seat and moved around to the front of his desk so he was in front of Kai. He simply placed a hand calmly on his forehead. " Rise Kai, there is no need to be so formal around me Keisuke is fine." Her said with a simple smile if Kai would look to see it on his face. " You have nothing to be sorry for. What happened on that day cannot be changed no hard we try."

Rubbing his head, Kai slowly pushed himself up, staring up at the Hokage with an uncertain smile. It was clearly plastered on, but at the very least, it held itself together, and he couldn't act as if he didn't feel a slight bit more comfortable around the man. It was like he had some sort of charming aura. It was pleasant.

"I... I just... I just keep seeing it in my head. I can't get it out- It's... It's like..." He glanced off towards the side, uncertain of how exactly to explain what he was feeling. Though, in retrospect, he had a potential idea.

"It's like a needle constantly poking you, reminding you..." He hissed, rubbing his head. "I feel guilty. Not only am I alive, but... People are looking at me, Keisuke..." He said, turning his head upwards.

"They are looking at me because of my eyes. I can see it in their own too. I can feel it. They are judging me- And I don't know why. I think- It's part of the Sharingan, I just..." He shook his head. It was a lot of guilt built on him.

It certainly didn't help matters in anyway that he was still pretty badly wounded. That chest shot was not doing him any favors.

"But... You called me in. W-Was there something you needed out of me?" He cleared his throat, trying to put on a brave face, despite the thousand yard stare in his eyes.

Keisuke could feel that this young shinobi before him has been suffering from the wounds that still plague him, but also of his mental wounds that might take years to repair depending the extent of the damage it had on Kai. Keisuke knew that the village will support him going forward with whatever he needed to help with the transition. With what Kai tried the explain with words with how he had been feeling since the incident it was clear that his troubles ran deep which was part of the reason why Keisuke had called him into his office today, but maybe Kai could get a little bit of closure from it.

" Well I called you in my office today so we could have a talk about what happened as I have had the reports of your progress with your recovery, but also I would like to help you if I can even if that might be small steps to start with. As it's my job to care about the future of our ninja." Keisuke said with a small smile. After speaking Keisuke simply looked at Kai again for a second before speaking to him.

" The images you are likely seeing in your mind is the trauma of the experience you went through. It comes and goes often and it's something that you are highly likely to experience often going forward and more so if you think about it. You also don't need to feel guilty about what happened. As much as it seems like you are to blame you are not because what happened no one could have predicted. " After speaking Keisuke paused before continuing.

" You have to remember being a shinobi this is something we sign up to do, but at the same time, it doesn't always run as smoothly as we would like. It has happened to me before as well and pretty much every shinobi in Konoha. As for your eyes while I cannot speak much about them as I don't know all the workings of the Sharingan, I do know that people were highly likely not staring at you for those reasons, maybe they were surprised, could have been out of care for you since you were badly injured, No one can judge you unless they speak it by words. It was the same with me when I was younger so I know what you are talking about minus the Sharingan.

In his mind, those same images flashed, as Kaisuke talked. In truth though, it was the words the elder brought down that gave him relief. It wasn't his fault.

Sure, he'd been told that before, but anyone can be told things weren't their fault by clanmates or teammates. Well, maybe not the second one, he didn't really have those anymore. That said, it meant something else when it came from the actual Hokage himself.

Still, the frustration was there. It had mounted like a growing anguish, and while Kai placed a hand to his heart, only some of the words made their way through.

"I know it's normal... For a Shinobi to go through something like this... But that... That doesn't make it any easier. I... I still have so many questions, about that day- But..." They weren't exactly questions Keisuke himself could answer. After all, the Uzumaki only showed up after the bloody battle had died down, leaving only corpses and echoes in its wake.

All that regardless, Kai looked around for a chair to sit in. Standing as he was, while not painful, was still a little exhausting- At least mentally taxing. Plus, he was looking for a safe space- And standing made him feel vulnerable.

It didn't make it any easier having lost all your teammates before your eyes and the stench of death on you for weeks afterward is not something that easy to overcome, the same had happened to Keisuke when he was younger with the death of his closest friend when she had been killed by a group, but instead of leaving it alone like his superiors at the time said to do while they investigated it, Keisuke set out on revenge which wasn't the wisest thing for him to do, but did it anyway. It had been dangerous but did get revenge for his friend, Keisuke didn't feel any better after he got his revenge though while he wouldn't change the actions he took on that day would he recommend the same to others now that he is wiser, the after to that is yes and would not recommend it. While Konoha will try to investigate what happened and try to bring the person responsible at large.

Kai looked to be closed and needed some space, so in Keisuke's office there were plenty of seating available if he wanted to sit down, he could even sit in his Hokage's chair if he wanted to Keisuke didn't mind. " Why don't you take a seat some place in the room wherever you want to sit? Keisuke said offering the chance for Kai to take a seat knowing that Kai would calm down a bit once he had settled to a seat of his choosing.

Kai sat down, his eyes drifting around the room, a looming dread over them. There was... A sense of wrong. And it was pungent in the air. Still, it wasn't as if he could do anything. He could seek revenge- There was no reason why he shouldn't- But right now, he wasn't properly in a state where revenge seemed like any sort of good option.

His seating was really just, corner of the room, but at least it protected him. From what, he wasn't sure. He wasn't even sure if there was anything to protect. Anything really left of him.

"I think... I'll live, I just... It's just..." Time. He needed time. Time to sit, to relax, to think. To... Look the other way.
