With the different squads now completely assembled together it seemed this first encounter had been dealt with completely. Granted, there had been a few enemies who had managed to squirm their way into safety but Ouritsu figured they'd have another shot at 'em before too long. Whatever those puppets were protecting was obviously important enough that they'd be forced to fight again so it was up to the chunin to be prepared for them. It had become clear midway through the fight that some of his skillset wasn't well suited for this type of enemy and he wondered for a moment how much help he could be against what he assumed were going to be similar yet stronger enemies; if they moved any faster that the ones he had already fought it would be even tougher to hit them with his jinton, and with his genjutsu already useless there was only so much the Nohime could do.

Still, there was a reason he had been placed on the advance squad and he wasn't the type to roll over and give up once things got a little tough so he'd find a way to adapt and contribute best he could. Listening to Tsusho, Isamu, and the Ishi forces decide on the best course of action it seemed they'd be heading down this long, dark tunnel that no doubt led further into the mine and closer to the mastermind(s) behind all of this, while the support squad would set up a camp of sorts to tend to the injured. Ouritsu winced a bit as he rubbed the arm that had gotten struck by one of the large puppets and while it did hurt he felt it wasn't worth wasting anyone's time over.

Seeing yet another spider be summoned, the Nohime had a growing suspicion that they were all grumpy little critters but at least this one wasn't big enough to crush him without even noticing. Now with a light source and the command to watch their fire should something pop up Ouritsu prepared himself to venture forward.

InitiationImmortal Machine Say less sug...wasn't thinkin we'd be dancin alone down there..."" Himari would remain beside Isamu as she nodded in his direction, moving into the cave alongside the assault team. With the darkness being more than enough warning of a possible ambush, it felt as if there were far more eyes upon them than what could be seen before them. Despite her being aware of the possibility of an ambush, it did little to settle her as she remained guarded and prepared for an assault that could come. Even with the assistance of her own military ration, she'd feel herself on edge just moving into the unknown space. It was closed in and with the remainder from Tsusho as to not go in full force, the SP.Jounin kept her wits about her in checking every space as they walked in. There were noises about them, sounds of the environment and the subtle clicking of likely their mechanical opponents. Though with the regain of her stamina, she felt more prepared to react should the squad leaders worries come to pass. In the end, she had to trust that everyone was ready for what came next....be it as it may... There was no sense in worrying now...they were hopefully now in the end game...only having to deal with what remained of the stragglers and hopefully...the ones who had started all this. Yet, in spite of this, she would always come up with a way to win in the end, despite being at the disadvantage. This has much to do with her reflexes, capable of moving around her targets attempts and finding the openings she needs to take them down. More often than not, this serves as her means of protection in it being difficult to hit a someone that you can't accurately engage against. Though it operates on her instincts, it can be unreliable in some situations. Especially if Himari has not been able to figure out the exact anatomy of her opponent. Heart of a Champion During her run within the OWA, Himari would train constantly to build up her strength and stamina. She would need both in order to complete the various techniques that were involved in her style of wrestling. As such, strength training was key in her mind as she came up with an arrangement in order to continue to build upon those foundations taught to her. While she is indeed smaller than most of the people she encounters, her size does no more than give her the appearance of being less powerful than she is. Her ability to sustain stronger grapples upon her opponents is increase through this advantage, as well as the impact of her physical attacks. Legacy of a Champion Okada Riku was known throughout the world for her speed and agility when she was in the ring. Such is reflected upon her continue run until her retirement. This trait has been passed down by to her daughter as Himari has displayed incredible speed. This has only increased over the years, alongside her training with both her mother and other shinobi. She can move swiftly across the field with little issue, using her agile footwork to get in close on a target before they can even realize it. Excelling at this, she focuses on being evasive with this ability as well, allowing for her to be just as proactive in getting in, as well not getting hit in the process. Keen Eye After leaving the life of a performer, Himari was given the opportunity to help development the next generation of wrestlers for the OWA. This required that she further study the methods and means in which to help others increase their potential safely without causing injury to themselves. In doing this, she learned about the human body, as well as points upon which one could take advantage of a target and weaken them. While this was a skill she had learned through her career, she further used this knowledge to be more accurate of calculating strategies when dealing with opposition, as well as certain situations that required a keen insight into the anatomy of an individual. Okada Tetsuo

Setting himself up near the entrance and looking in, Tetsuo considered their options as he once again cycled through the modes of his ENES to see if there was anything that stood out. For him, going down into the tunnels was going to be a tricky experience, since he was a member of the Bakuha Gundan he was going to have to be careful to avoid bringing the caves down on top of them all.

Luckily in his position as Lieutenant of Structures he was pretty much the most well equipped member of the group to do such a thing. 

"Looks dangerous down there.... pity we can't just drop the whole thing on them..." he muttered as he prepared himself for what was to come. Considering what these things were capable of, trapping them beneath tonnes of stone probably wouldn't be enough to actually kill them, and they'd come back to cause problems again at some point.

"Could trap the tunnel, though that might be risky for us," he mused, weighing up options but not really able to make a decision even had he been team leader. There was just too many variables right now for that. He'd just wait to follow Tsusho's lead on this one, knowing that there wasn't much he could do on his own in this case.

While not flaunted, Tetsuo has a genius level intellect and can be counted amongst the ranks of prodigy shinobi currently alive. Tetsuo's memory is excellent and he can recall events and information with rich details. and his mind works at an incredible speed, able to do calculations even during the stress of combat. His memory is nearly flawless, and he is quickly able to determine weaknesses in his foes. He is not one to show off, nor point out his own intelligence, rather allowing others to see it or not of their own accord. He doesn't have time for such nonsense after all.

Okada Agility
While not enthusiastic about his clan's primary profession, Tetsuo has been trained in the physical styles of the Okada. For him in particular this has manifested in a brutally graceful agility that does not strain his muscles, which are now capable of handling his body weight and swiftness in battle. Due to this, he can move around with near-perfect movement precision, making so that no wasteful movement is used, and his body moves at full efficacy. This allows him to move without any momentum, giving him an advantage in combat.

This ability, which helps him to maneuver without being hampered by his own body, makes opponents of similar level have a terrible time landing a blow on him.

Immortal Machine: Tunnel Strike

Tunnel Strike after Support Squad

Proceeding forward for those that do, they'll be Scavengers hiding. As you move forward they're hiding behind pillars and rocks. Awaiting those to come to either pass or move close enough to just swipe. Attempting to wrestle and scratch whoever is closest. Due to their relatively lacking skill in comparison to most of the group, they'd not be a lethal threat to anyone. If no one addresses them individually though, it'll be counted as them injuring someone, then an Ishigakure shinobi will put them down.

After going deeper into the tunnel, it'd actually widen until a subdivision was found. An almost inner cave room, which lead to a rather enlarged mining shaft going practically straight down in two directions. As three almost level paths pointed, left right and across from where the initial tunnel had led. All of these more level tunnels seemed more recently dug up, but it was also clear the old digging of the past civilization had been far expanded upon by these machines. Likely how they'd gotten the metal for their bodies.

The tunnel which went left seemed to shift and bend towards one of the stone nations cities, as the one which went right actually seemed to shift towards Tsuchi no Kuni's wall cities. Going straight would lead towards the underground pyramid, two larger puppets stood guard until the shinobi came into sight. They'd immediately jaunt back into the large structure, where they'd stood was when the tunnel shifted from jagged rock cave walls to a perfectly cut and smoothed almost marble looking stone walls and floor.

[Tantetsu Tsusho]

    It wasn't the darkest of places Tsusho had ever climbed through, but it was far from brightly lit, though Kioshi stayed first on top of the puppet as they kept moving forward, lighting the way best he could. He assumed had he gone in alone, this would be a mostly quiet place except for the movements now and then, but with the caravan behind him, it was an echo of footsteps, breathing, and the occasional cough.

"Hold your formation, I can see more movement up ahead."

    It wasn't too obvious at first, but there was something hiding just behind one of the pillars he was moving towards, as he slowed down some. Between him and those behind him was a decent amount of space, as he had one large puppet in front of him and one behind. Once they were further into the cave he was forced to disperse all of the clones he had created, leaving him with only the two large puppets he had from the beginning. The smaller had been left outside for now, but he still had all the smallest of his puppets inside the two with him. As they moved closer to the pillars, something started to creep from behind, and he wasn't about to try and get attacked from two sides so easily, crouching down some and connecting one of his stringers to the Romu puppet in front, and pulling at a large back panel.

    Two dog sized metal balls rolled out before he closed the panel, and as soon as his chakra strings connected to each of them they unraveled into a miniature version of the large puppet he was walking between. As he got closer to the pillars, he saw one of the creatures, similar to what they were fighting earlier, reach out and try clawing at him, as he pulled one of the puppets closer and used it to strike back to fend off the attacker. He wasn't sure if was completely taken out, but it seemed to retreat at the very least. Once more something attacked him, this time from his other side, as he controlled the largest puppet to swing down at it with a heavy metal leg and attack it with the smaller puppet on his right with rapid strikes.

"Watch your sides, they are trying to ambush us or catch us off guard."

    The small puppets would jump, walk, and crawl next to Tusho until the area widened finally, leading to what looked like multiple pathways. Unfortunately he couldn't move back if the group was attacked behind him, and simply tried his best to move himself and his puppets into the more open area to make sure they could get there and out of the reach of the swiping creatures. Once he could see more of the group, he started to move again, making sure he could be seen as he motioned for the path that would take them towards the underground pyramid, which he assumed was their main goal.

"Follow me, keep your guard up."

    He moved a bit slower as they moved down the path until they got to the front of the underground pyramid, about to motion for the group to stop when he spotted the two large beasts who immediately turned and retreated. With one puppet still leading, and the other behind, and now flanked by the two small puppets, he began walking forward slowly towards the structure.

"Speak up if anyone senses anything I need to watch out for. I believe this is our main target."

The tunnel wasn't a tight squeeze for anyone except Tsusho and all his puppets, but where the contraptions couldn't cover such a wide area as they had done before it was somewhat made up for by the fact that everyone who had ventured into the tunnel was close enough to cover each other if need be. Ouritsu knew it would be difficult --no, deadly-- if he tried to use jinton in such confined spaces against an enemy that was agile as they were good at hiding; instead the chunin would simply akimbo a pair of kunai and remain at the ready for anything that tried to strike at them from the shadows.

The trek through the darkened tunnel was not free of peril but thankfully most of the attacks had been repelled by the two smaller puppets the team leader had brought out and combined with the might of the added Ishi forces the creatures were cleaned up without too much trouble. At the end of the tunnel a light would greet the group giving them a sight that no one would have seen coming: three paths leading to wildly different areas with a giant pyramid sitting in the middle! "What the hell... this thing's been down here the whole time?" Ouritsu questioned more so to himself than actually expecting an answer.

He had little doubt whatever resided in the large structure was the source of these crazed puppets and his theory only grew stronger when he saw the two large puppets retreat back into the pyramid. Whatever was hiding in there it was clear they wanted to protect it which surely meant another fight was on the horizon.

Seeing the pyramid like structure that seemed nestled in the heart of the subterranean habitat of the machines, the blonde would allow her jaw to slightly slack down, though soon enough her senses returned as she began to follow after the others towards it. While it's guardians appeared to be in retreat, she imagined this was only for the moment as to give word to whatever force laid in wait within the structure. Considering the surrounding puppets that had been dealt with by Ishigakure's forces and also Tsusho, it would be no surprise if there were more that were awaiting them. Still, with having come this far, it seemed like there was hardly a point in turning back. "Guess we're enterin thunder dome then..." Keeping her eyes peeled on her footing and surroundings, she'd continue to check for possible blind spots that they might miss on their venture forward, her gaze attempting to see as much as possible within the dark. Though while she had a keen sight, the lack of clear light made it near impossible to really tell what was down there. All she could hope for was that perhaps they wouldn't be left alone for much longer. Or that maybe these machines had perhaps finally given up the ghost and were considering their next move, clustered in one place. It would certainly be easier to collapse the structure upon them if that were the case... [Kita Isamu]

Isamu brought up the rear of their little group, eyebrows slowly raising the further they went. When another group of the skavengers attacked and swiped at them, he held out his weapon and proceeded to bring it down harshly on anything trying to grab at him. It wasn’t ideal to use such a huge halberd inside these tunnels, but it was clear his katana was useless against the majority of these beings, and the halberd could do more damage.

However, that was far from the end of it, as they approached a pyramid-like structure with two more shippai guarding the entrance. Their retreat drew a frown from Isamu, this definitely didn’t feel right or fun in the slightest. ”This definitely feels like a trap,” Isamu pointed out to Tsusho. Having spent so long in the field, the man had no doubt that what they were about to walk into was going to be awful. ”If we really end up needing it in there, I should be able to get rid of most of these things at once… but it is an S ranked jutsu, and if you stand too close you’ll probably be drawn in too. If you see me summon a giant boulder, get as far away as possible as quickly as you can,” he warned, not quite able to sense what awaited them in the structure.

Did these creatures have access to sensory blocking? There could be anything from a couple dozen to a couple hundred enemies laying in wait, and every single instinct Isamu had was screaming that this wasn’t going to be good. He glanced at their team, taking in each individual (including Moriko) with a grim expression. This was it.

Given no instructions to do anything to trap the entrance, Tetsuo shrugged and followed the rest of the group into the tunnels quietly, not really adding anything to the conversation as he continued to scan their surroundings for anything of interest or note, changing between the various vision modes of his ENES to make sure that he didn't miss anything. While the others dealt with the various minor enemies that were emerging, Tetsuo's attention was focused primarily on examining the structural integrity of the caves and the massive pyramid that was in front of them.

Considering his role, he was well versed in what was needed to bring things down with his explosives, and so while it might take him a while to do so, it didn't hurt for him to look into what would be needed to destroy both the structure and the underground tunnels with what he had with him.

It would be hard, but probably not impossible? Of course, that would likely be a last resort scenario, because it wouldn't exactly be safe for any of them here if he did so until the last moment. Still, perhaps something to consider if they managed to successfully clear out the enemy from the location. To make sure there was nothing left, that would be safer.

Souma worked, and tension built as the situation stabilized.

She understood what Isamu had been going for. Ryoko was drained, and leaving her entirely in the care of their allies wasn't ideal. But by the same token, there didn't seem- with the assistance of hindsight- as if there was any sign of another attack on the surface.

The gel-haired girl got antsier and antsier as she stood staring into the lack of movement in the darkness of the cave, and finally marched to the head of the Ishigakure team.

"I need a cliplight. May I borrow one from your contingent? I aim to rejoin the others. With what we heard about the concetration of our enemies below, it is going to get worse, not better, and I believe they will need all the help providable."

It was a simple ask, and quickly met, and- with a fresh battery popped into the light, Souma headed into the cave with haste.

Those puppets still lingering in the caves likely made attempts to stop her, but the result each time was the same: a crushed chassis, immobilized puppet, and a medic in motion.

While the sound of moving metal might concern the advance party behind them, the light clipped to her chest likely dispelled the illusion of an incoming puppet, and further still when she closed ranks with them.

"Forgive me, but everything I can do on the surface has been done. I cannot isolate my talents there when all further injuries will occur down here," she stated softly as she joined the rest. "I will do my level best to prevent any more from being incurred."

"Don't work smart, or hard. Work smart, then hard."

Taki "Bakudan" Okada

A loser like you ain't got no guts!

Having been somewhat winded from everything she had taken on prior in regards to her chakra consumption and sage mode Taki lagged behind the others. "You overworked yourself Taki...are you well." she'd nod to her gorilla companion. "Yeah I am now...gotta catch up with the others." She'd make her way once again towards the group, getting towards Isamu.

"Sorry for lagging bahind how's it lookin we awlmost at da objective?" the girl would ask as she kept beside him everyone else seemed particularly winded from their ordeal as well but for now it was all they had and this was the best they could do at the moment. "Fudo, think you cold back me up just in case things get hairy..." she examined the large cavern as they made their way forward.

"I gots a bad feelin about dis place." her hunch might've been correct but without her access to sensory ninjutsu any longer she was at something at a loss in the current moment, but carried on. Those creatures out there was somethin fierce but this on in particular could've perhaps been an even grander threat so the young sage needed to be ready for anything. She'd overhear Souma talking up ahead and rush towards her and place a hand on her shoulder. Fudo was practically clasped to her back as she did so during this time she'd whisper something in Souma's ear a plan she had seeing the familiar face.

During Taki's training she learns that she has a significant amount of energy and after graduating to the rank of genin she began to learn how to properly make use of them under the tutelage of Midori Chizawa. As a result the girl is now able to perform a bevy of powerful techniques for longer periods of time without tiring as quickly as others.

[Heavyweight: Super Strength SA]

With the rigorous training that Taki's now able to throw down with the best of them boasting monstrous strength fitting for her professional wrestling background, having combined that with the training she performed at the academy has now made her able to performs ridiculous feats such as being able to crush stones in her grip causing concussions and snap bones with her powerful strikes and holds. Taki has also increased the amount of weight she is able to lift by a massive margin in a way that makes her an even more fearsome taijutsu practitioner than before.

As a result of her training, and advancements as a genin. Taki's grappling ability has increased even further making her wrestling based techniques far more difficult to deal with and escape from. As a result, her slams, holds, submissions and suplex's are far more damaging and harder to escape from then that of a genin who is not trained in these particular abilities.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body and overall Taijutsu prowess increase exponentially most notably her grip strength allowing her to take hold of someone with a painful amount of power amplifying her already proficient ability to grapple with an opponent making it significantly harder to be broken out of as well a deal a considerable amount of damage.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body Taki is able to use nature energy to harness her powers in order to make her more physically imposing than normal adding to her natural affinities with Taijutsu allowing her move faster and hit harder heavy items thus adding a good amount of power and heft to her attacks allowing her to snap bones with much less effort and outpace a good majority of her enemies with her monstrous charge.

✤ The Immovable Force [Durability]

Due to the coarse strength of a gorilla's skin Taki is able to withstand a good amount of extra punishment allowing her to be able to withstand blows from most enemies that most shinobi wouldn't be able to normally withstand. As such blows from strong fighters are reduced by a considerable amount and when struck feel like colliding with a considerably immovable force.

Ryoko was tired, but she was not fully drained. It only took a couple drops of her energy to wave a hand and cast a single string out. It attaches to a ration pill as they are being offered. A wiggling finger beckons the ration pill closer until the thing lands in her hand.

She eyes the bit of tech with a sigh. Ryoko was not a fan of ration pills, they made her antsy and only masked her exhaustion. They did not truly sustain her as a good meal might, but they were better than sitting on the sidelines. She pops it into her mouth without comment and chews it to little bits. Upon swallowing she feels a familiar, if unsettling, rush of energy recharging her.

"Gross.” she mutters quietly, her lips pursing with displeasure. Another wave of her hand brings the doomstar back to life, the massive shuriken rising from the ground nd levitating to it’s place at her shoulder.

She dusts her hands off afterwards and gives another glance around those gathered. There wasn’t much she could do. She had no real medical training and there didn’t seem to be a fight brewing here. Spying Souma again she manages a little grin. She had the right idea.

"Hey yeah, me too! Souma, wait up!” She shouts after Souma’s announcement of departure. She dashes over to catch up to the medic, and then followers her towards the cave. Feeling her chakra replenished gave her a little boost of confidence, however she still refrains from indulging her immediate desire to turn into some other animal. A bat or snake, perhaps, something more suitable for the darkness.

"Dang, I shoulda got one of them lights too.” she mutters, offering Souma an amused smirk once she’s caught up. She’d just stick close to Souma’s light for now.

Immortal Machine: Tunnel Strike

A little disheveled in their entrance the group would all proceed unharmed. Isamu's Halberd though hard to swing would be guided with the knowledge of his sensory foresight, so with essentially a single planned stroke it'd bring one scavenger down. Tsusho's combined puppet assault would also manage to strip apart of scavenger, as well as aid in others later strikes. A more patient laid back scavanger would find it's end to Souma joining in late. The Ishigakure shinobi proving themselves not worthless as the other three would be dispatched by them.

However upon making it to the fork in the road, it'd become apparent to the head of the Ishigakure shinobi this had a large scale then he expected. Those side paths leading to relatively largely populated places, it'd be bad if he didn't send forces to aid those in possible peril. "I think we should split up here, I'll take a couple of my soldier down that way, you have one of yours lead the other pair down that other path. The rest of you seem more capable in handling these living puppets, I'd suggest you guys go ahead and sabotage this enemy structure. Otherwise we need to break down those two tunnels and just pray no reinforcement is needed down those ways..." These would be the suggestions of the Ishigakure shinobi.

Thankfully Iwagakure's finest had an eye for the necessary arts of demolution. Tetsuo who'd been observing the surroundings to their best ability with cave in's in mind. He'd have noted on their way in the initial tunnel traveled wasn't exceptionally built. It was an almost ancient structure, which thankfully meant it was time tested, but with enough will on any of the pillared supports would close the tunnel they'd come from. This room which split in multiple directions was a bit better structured. There were specifically two clearly built into the tunnel pillars. These reinforced shaped pillars of what looked like marble almost were quite logically placed in mind with keeping the side tunnels safely open. A lot of explosives and force would be needed to close the immediate entrance to these tunnels. Decent though impossible force would be need looking briefly down them, though it'd require exploring to know if it got suddenly worst.

No matter the structural condition of this cavernous room or the cave tunnels leading out, it'd seem any real structural damage here could risk the surrounding earthen ceiling, but the odd underground pyramid was seemingly quite well made structurally. Especially at the entrance and even the first look into the pyramid structure, it'd appear to be designed to survive a military siege. The halls into the pyramid had green dim lights running down the ceiling. They're shaped similarly to that of hanging lanterns, their light making the halls path mostly visible. It seemed it went in, then down then in, then down though at that second dip the angle blocked further sight. The two guard shippai not chased would seem to have hustled into the pyramid as neither would be visible.

OOC Notes: Due to us losing Rebel's participation I am honestly using this moment as a time to pull their character from the thread. I feel I will be a little overwhelmed RPing both opposition and the Ishigakure shinobi, so with most of you back to posting, I'd like to have you all proceed in. That stated if you're worried about the opposition ahead and need me to, then you can close the side tunnels and I'll put on my best Ishi glasses going forward.

Posting Order: There will not be a posting order due to the majority vote siding with a 72hr posting period.

"It's either a trap or it's a nest of metal and anger, or both."

    Despite his cautious steps, he didn't slow down, pushing ahead to lead the group inside this fortress like pyramid. He had to be on his guard now as he was leading the group physically at the very least, and he was their eyes as he was at the front of the group as well.

"Head home Kioshi, this is likely to get dangerous."

    Talking to the glowing spider, it turned, making a hissing noise instead of simply replying, and unsummoned itself. The light didn't so much fade but darkened immediately as the spider was now gone, but it let him focus more in front and not stare at the ass end of a glowing spider. Turning back to see how close everyone was, he took a deep breath and release it as a heavy sigh and pushed inward.

"I'll need to focus on my puppets if a fight breaks out, so someone or multiple someones need to keep their eye on the group. Please, whatever you do, don't start throwing giant fireballs or explosives or area of effect jutsu unless we have to. We aren't in the open down here, so spatial awareness is far more important."

    Perhaps it was common sense, but he knew well enough the reaction to simply start trying to hurt whatever was heading at you, especially when you are less experienced. Best he could do was try and lead by example and soak up as much aggression as he could from whatever was waiting ahead.

Souma glanced at the others, multiple of her clansmates among them, at the call for someone to lead the second trio into the side tunnel. She wasn't sure precisely who the group would assign there, but all things equal, her instincts as a medic made her feel more at home with the largest contingent near the greatest threat.

"I will remain by you, Tsusho-sama. It is recommended for medics to remain off the front lines when possible, and regardless, I should be able to peel any threats off of your person while you coordinate the puppets." She paused to consider, and added one thing.

"... that will, however, limit my ability to move to where the wounded are. So, if anyone else feels up to safeguarding Tsusho-sama while he focuses on his puppetry, it may be optimal to assign yourself to his protection, instead."

Either way, she proceeded with him as he pushed forwards.

"Don't work smart, or hard. Work smart, then hard."
