Naoya had been getting into the habit of changing into his gi and training kenjutsu when he came to the gardens; the last three or four times he came here he had done exactly that. So, when he showed up at his usual spot for some basic ninjutsu and control training, he had to fight the muscle memory to draw his weapon and begin practicing his forms. It made sense to come here though. It was quiet and distant from the usual spots for practicing techniques. And, as those shinobi that did frequent this more laid back area were typically of the same reserved temperament, there were rarely social conflicts or complaints.

Chakra control had always been a struggle for the young boy, his conflicting surplus of stamina always seeming to overpower any subtlety attempted in his techniques. While this was objectively a blessing, it made some things, in particular the basic academy techniques which required no great reserves, a real challenge. He placed his bag down at the base of a large willow tree as he set up close to the water.

Of all the techniques that he struggled with most, none was as difficult to execute with precision than the substitution technique for Naoya. He always seemed to put too much chakra behind the movement and send himself flying, or he'd overcompensate and push precious little energy into his legs and end up hardly making the journey to whatever object he needed to use to actually execute the technique. That in and of itself, the whole grabbing of a substitute thing-- y'know the whole namesake of the technique, was especially rough.

He checked to make sure he had plenty of space before forming some quick seals. He spotted a very reasonably sized log near him and made it his initial target. From there he just had to get wherever the hell 'away' was. In a flash he disappeared, his movement impressive for the power behind it... until he crashed over the log he meant to grab, slamming his face in the dirt.

Flooded with embarrassment, for a few moments he just laid there, praying nobody had seen that.

[attr=class,opunkibulkrule]He was getting close he could feel it. His chakra control had gotten better, but it wasn't perfect he just needed a final few more pushes. Shiori found himself learning more from the practical side of things and just using up his chakra till he was exhausted seemed to work well, but he needed to do this in more intense situations. Something that had stakes like a spar or something, but how and with whom? He could ask Uka again for some help, but he wanted to learn from other people instead of just the same person. So he decided he would find someone random to train with.

Now normally Shiori would go to the training yard or back alleys to do his training but today was a bit different. Heading towards the gardens he figured it would be a good idea to have a change of scenery and boy did it seem to be like a good idea for him. When arriving in the gardens he would find someone else there the perfect candidate to help with his training, but after watching for a second Shiori realized they were training themselves. He was about ready to announce his presence and wave them down when he noticed them stumbling over a log. "Are you ok?" Shiori would shout as he came running up to the other boy hoping he was injured.

Despite being assigned in the Crime Division, due to his newcomer status, Akirei found himself engaged in tasks typically delegated to the Safety Division, patrolling the street. It wasn't that he deemed the Safety Division's duties to be pointless or considered the Crime Division superior, rather, he simply liked the act of apprehending criminals.

And it only got worse from there… he was assigned to patrol the Storm Garden, renowned for its safety and beauty, suitable for walks and training. With a sigh, Akirei started to patrol through the garden, pondering whether his day would be uneventful. He almost lost his hope after a few hours of patrol, but his hope was renewed when a crash nearby alerted him.

"!!!” He swiftly turned around and raced towards the source of the noise, only to discover it was merely a minor accident. Suppressing a look of disappointment, he found himself facing two children. Moving quickly into his role as a police officer, he escorted the injured child to a nearby seat, offering reassurance. "Take it easy. Sit down for a moment."

Beside the injured child stood another youngster. Assessing the injury as superficial, Akirei reassured them both. "Don't worry, you should be able to resume your training after a short rest." Glancing at the time, he realised his morning shift had concluded. Nothing noteworthy had occurred… The day had been so mundane that he couldn't help but release a sigh of boredom. "Maybe I should train a while before heading home…"
