Things had been not going to plan exactly. Months have gone by and unforcedly Azarea hadn't been receiving her presents from his crows and they would return with their gifts. Well, it wasn't like he had to spend too much money on the gifts since technically it was the same single gift each time cause he wanted to make sure she got them before he made the next purchase, but it was like she disappeared from the face of the village. He tried looking for her himself, but to no avail and he was honestly getting worried. What if CROW got rid of her already? Was he in trouble now? How did they get wind of his plans already? It wasn't like they even had gotten very far into the plans so how? Takame was getting a tad paranoid to the point he even spent less and less time with his crow friends because he was beginning to doubt their delightful chirps and concerned coos. Today was almost no exception. He was sitting in a courtyard at the compound away from most people's eyes and sulking. The crows flocked to him in masse wondering what was wrong with him or asking for food. Each crow of the murder had their reason for being there, but it coated the courtyard in ebony making him stand out even more despite wanting to simply just disappear from the world. Plus with their incessant nagging, Takame could feel his frustration rising more and more each second. Eventually forcing him to blurt out, "Just leave me alone already!" Waving his hands around like a maniac. Some of the birds closest to him would jump in fear or annoyance and fly away while others would stare at him pointedly. Risi was in the compound for an update with the Inshi family about the goings-on of the Kumogakure ninja, still believing the dark-haired young man to be the same dark-haired young boy they'd all but brainwashed into being their spy. Such meetings were becoming more and more stressful daily, and although he never smoked, he was considering picking up the habit just to settle his nerves. He was one of the few Kyuumu that actually lived outside of the compound, since he was supposed to be more closely aligned with Kumogakure than with the Kyuumu by all appearances. He'd not brought his scythe this time around, so he was mostly unarmed, though he always carried his weapon pouch. It helped that it also contains his favorite bag of tea.

During a break in the debriefing, he'd chosen to go out into the courtyard; after all, most Kyuumu didn't seem to appreciate the sunlight all that much. It allowed him some time to himself, or so he thought. He jumps a bit when he hears someone yelling, turning his head quickly to see what at first seems like some kind of lunatic waving his arms about while the crows nearest him fly off, showing their disapproval in their cawed out words. Then Risi recognizes the other person as the Inshi heir himself, Takame. He feels his stomach twist in knots, and he pulls the tea bag from his weapon pouch, allowing the delightful scent to de-stress him, letting him relax gradually before fixing his red-eyed gaze at Takame once more. He seemed quite stressed himself, though he couldn't imagine what about. He fixes his top hat a bit as crows fly past him and nearly topple it over, with the metal of the Kumogakure headband flashing in the sunlight while it's fixed around the tower of the hat.

His choice of hat wasn't the only dapper thing about his clothing, wearing a sleeveless white shirt and frilled cravat underneath a black waistcoat with silver buttons on the front flaps, connected to the black mantle over his forearms. His skirt is adorned with belts all around his waist, one of which holds his weapon pouch, but it's currently latched closed down the side, since he's not really planning to do any fighting today. He also wears black boots and arm warmers, as well as fingerless gloves on both hands: a white one on the right, and black on the left. Overall a dapper look, and with such a pale expression as he has, Risi might look like he's just stepped out of a black-and-white photograph from a bygone era.

Risi approaches the other Inshi family member, not sure if he should address Takame as his cold actual self or as his more bubbly outward personality, then decides on the latter. Being cold and emotionless wouldn't really ensure his safety around someone who seems to be going through something at the moment.

"Takameeee!~ Don't scare the birds off like that, you nearly knocked my hat off!"

He knew he shouldn't take out his anger on the birds especially since they were normally his only comfort when he was alone, but each time he looked at them all he could do was think about her. Where was she? What was she doing? Had she decided to abandon him or did she simply need time to herself? He didn't have the answers and it worried him. He had even spent some time looking around the village with his eyes in the sky hoping he could find some sort of sighting of her, but he always came back with nothing. It was frustrating to be ghosted in such a way and it made him realize why he steeled his heart from so many people before. They all sucked.[break][break] His anger rose and annoyance was fueled by the sound of a bubbly voice calling out his name. Looking up he would see the eccentrically dressed Risi and honestly, Takame wasn't sure if he had the energy to deal with this person. He knew all about them from the reports he had to study as the heir. A spy for the family to keep track of the village's going on and reporting back to them to make sure the village wasn't doing anything against the clan's wishes while also simultaneously making sure none of their clan techniques became public knowledge. Still, it wasn't the boy's fault for his sour mood so he tried to be polite like he was taught to be, "Sorry about that." Granted his voice was more of a mutter and grumble than actual remorse behind it. "What do you want?" he would also add hoping whatever Risi could want could be resolved quickly and Takame could brood in relative silence. Risi feels a bit disappointed internally when it sounds like Takame isn't really all that interested in having a conversation with him, but that was probably understandable considering his noticeable aggression earlier. It was rare, in Risi's mind, for a Kyuumu to really show much emotion; they were a fairly reserved clan for the most part, even among one another. It was honestly why Yamatsu was such a breath of fresh air for him. When Takame asks him what he wants, he still takes it as an invitation to approach the other Kyuumu ninja, even if Takame himself did not mean it in that way. His more bubbly outward personality takes a back seat for now, since they're close enough that he can lower his voice to a much quieter sound. He only reveals his real self in rare occasions when it's necessary to show he isn't as ditzy as one might think from the way his outward-facing persona speaks and acts.

"Takame. What's wrong?"

He was legitimately curious, and that did bleed through into his real internal voice. It was far less bubbly and ditzy, and much more serious, making him sound like he was far more competent than his previous voice suggested. His red chough-like eyes were focused on Takame now, bright and focused as he waits to see if the heir answers his question. While it might have seemed that he was ignoring Takame's question, his own question could be considered answer enough: he'd noticed the other Kyuumu's actions and knew that something was wrong, and he was showing a rare interest in the hardships of others. Perhaps Yamatsu was rubbing off on Risi more than he thought; he probably would never have done this if he'd been fresh out of the Inshi family's brainwashing that doubled as a form of training in order to become greater spies.

Risi seemed to only get closer when Takame tried to push him away which honestly sort of reminded Takame of Azarea's rather persistent personality. Sure she still gave Takame his space when he needed it, but she had a way about her that just pulled him closer and closer to her. It frustrated him at times, but he always found himself going back to her and much like birds when they are fed food from a stranger he found her inviting despite his sour attitude. So was it possible Risi could be another one of those Takame could get close to despite not wishing to? Well, the only way to find out is to try.[break][break] "It's nothing," Takame would mutter aloud with a hint of embarrassment in his tone as he unconsciously pulled out the box that held the ring he was gonna give Azarea. A proposal ring that was part of the plan for his escape, but only now brought sour memories and bittersweet thoughts to him. He wasn't even paying attention to his hand that was fiddling with the box as he found himself staring off at the crows lost in thought. [break][break] He would sit in silence for a bit thinking about what to say next because honestly, his thoughts were very cloudy and dark right now. He wanted to ask for advice from someone, but he didn't know how to express his concerns and it wasn't like he could go into full detail about the plan because of the clan's ideologies. If he indeed wanted to be safe from their persecution he would need to figure something out, but he simply felt trapped now. Like a bird locked in a cage and their wings clipped he just wasn't allowed to fly free anymore. Looking down he would catch a glimpse of the box in his hand and sigh deeply. Leaning back on the bench he was sitting on he would look up to the sky, but cover his eyes with his arm to block the world around him as he asked, "What do I do now?" He didn't give insight on what he was asking so maybe Risi wouldn't understand what he was thinking especially with how vague his response was, but something inside of him hoped that maybe they would understand based on the context clues his body was giving. Risi is slightly annoyed, but only internally, when Takame seems to be unwilling to share at first, and he considers leaving it at that; if he doesn't want to share, then Risi should avoid getting involved, most likely. But Risi had been dragged out of his rather low point by Yamatsu, and although he was only interested in his wolf boy at the moment as a partner, that didn't mean he couldn't extend a similar but ultimately different courtesy to others, particularly in the Kyuumu clan, whom might be going through a similar low point in their own lives thanks to the meddling of the Inshi family in particular. So instead of leaving when he's told that it's nothing, he crosses his dainty, feminine arms across his dainty, feminine chest and watches instead. The sight of the jewelry box is certainly odd. He'd never heard anyone discuss a potential marriage for the young heir. That said, he couldn't really see what was actually inside the jewelry box, but what else would be in such a small velvet box like that? So, a wedding ring. But not for a political wedding, perhaps? Was that what this was about?

Ah, judging by the way he sighs and his body language as he languishes on the bench and plays with the jewelry box, it's almost certainly about some significant other. So it wasn't "nothing", but it isn't something with which Risi had much particular experience... Yamatsu was his first and so far only person that he had confided anything in, much less his love and his heart. He tries to put himself in the position he assumes Takame must be in: that he has a paramour, but that he's not allowed to be with his paramour, probably because of the Inshi family's meddling. He thought of himself and how he would feel if the clan tried to interfere with his relationship with Yamatsu, and made a real statement to the heir, a firm declaration that he felt through his own outward-facing mask that made him look and sound like a ditzy klutz, and pierced straight to his real self, the confident and competent Risi that gave him the foundation for his capabilities as a spy and as a shinobi.

"Whoever they are, Takame, you should be with them. Choose them over the family, or the family will consume you forevermore."

Risi carefully and quickly reverts to his more ditzy tone, giving the other young man a vacant smile that betrayed none of his true feelings.

"If you like them, you should be with them, not moping around! Go after them, you silly!~"

He was out of it for sure because he found himself speaking without thinking. Maybe it was the fog and confusion of the past events that happened to him and the sheer infatuation he had for her or the fact the plan seemed to have fallen through, but something caused him to be more open about his feelings than he ever had been before. "It's not," he would start before sighing and covering his eyes. "I don't think the family would stop me from going for it, but rather it's a necessity." He wasn't sure what he was fully saying since it wasn't like he expressed these concerns of his out loud to anyone outside of Azarea before so putting it in words was difficult.[break][break] Taking a bit of time to try and collect him he would lean over to Risi and whisper, "It's an escape." He would let the words sit as he finally actually said it out loud it wasn't like he didn't love Azarea in fact if it weren't for their circumstances he wouldn't mind spending his life with her, but he was merely doing this to get out. To run away from the chains the family held over him so he could be free to do his things while also keeping her safe from the family's wrath since she knew things an outsider shouldn't know. Due to her ties with the previous Raikage, she got intell on their inner workings and it was slowly coming to light she did which put her in huge danger. Takame came up with this plan to help both of them be free from persecution, but something went wrong and Azarea went missing. So he was unsure of how to proceed. [break][break] Sighing he would say, "She's gone now it seems." Still not giving full sentences or information to extrapolate on since he was so used to being vague with his words due to the clan's teachings so it was a hard habit to kick. "Can't seem to find her anymore not even the birds seem to know where she is," this sentence was a bit more coherent due to the fact it was true and since they relied on the crows for communication at times it was something he felt was strange about this occurrence. Risi, as always, carefully considers the information he's been given. Not that he could help it if he didn't want to analyze all the intelligence he discovers; it was an automatic reflex instilled in the feminine man after years of working in the Kyuumu clan, and particularly as the Inshi family's spy. It really was helpful, almost a blessing most days, but sometimes it was very nearly a curse, a kind of barrier between himself and the very concept of normal social interaction. How does one socialize with someone who is always mentally weighing what you tell them? Granted, it also means Risi is actively listening to Takame, but perhaps he's inferring more than Takame had likely meant to say.

He learned not only that his paramour was a woman and that she's disappeared so completely that not even the crows could find her, but that the Inshi family would not be opposed to their heir marrying this woman. It was therefore likely that she was of some high or noble status, which made her total disappearance reach far greater distances than Kyuumu had originally considered. This was definitely something important, not just for Takame, but possibly for others as well. This was becoming further and further outside of something Risi could really personally offer his aid for, though it was also becoming more and more something that Risi actually wants to assist Takame with. After all, he'd found his own paramour in Yamatsu, and he would rather like for Takame to have a similar experience. The thought of not having Yamatsu drove a stake through him and made his stomach turn, but he hides his true feelings, as he always does.

It was perhaps a bit odd that it was both an escape, but also a pairing that the Inshi family might not have any qualms about. And an escape was certainly something Risi was interested in, though of course he obviously couldn't directly take this mystery woman's place in this plot. After all, he had his lover already, and Takame seemed to genuinely care about this woman, despite his statement that she was an escape from the most paranoid family of the Kyuumu clan. He brings his own voice down low so Takame knows that he'd be a willing co-conspirator.

"Not all hope is lost. There are still options for an escape, although I know it's not easy to start from square one again. We'll both get out of this safely; you just tell me what to do, and I'll try my best, Takame."

He was conflicted, to say the least about Risi's comment back to him. Were they agreeing to help them out because they genuinely wanted to or was it a guise for their role in the Kyuumu or was it simply said because he was the heir and they felt a need to serve them? He didn't know the answer and honestly, he didn't want to trust them, but he needed allies if he was going to escape, and if they indeed also wanted the same they could make a good ally for the inevitable fallout. So he decided he would trust them as he gripped the engagement box and put it back away.[break][break] "We need help," Takame would say his tone changing from a melancholy voice to one with a bit more determination. One of the good things about being alone most of the time is he thought of so many scenarios in his head and what plans to take to complete his goal. He may have never acted on these plans before, but maybe it was about time to get the ball rolling and if he had someone who could play double agent against the clan it could come to fruition a lot faster. Keeping his tone low so outsiders wouldn't hear he would say, "Our best bet is the Raikage as they can provide us backup in case things go south." His eyes glowing their normal amber he found himself searching back and forth around the area to make sure no one was fully peeping on them. He even shooed away some of the birds lingering around just in case of spies. "I can't go there without suspicion, but you can. So that's where we need to start," Takame would almost command with authority in his voice as the drive to escape was now fueling his heart. Risi smiles brightly at Takame when the other Kyuumu ninja seems willing to trust him, at least for now, with at least part of the plan. Risi himself had no need to question Takame or his intentions, since he himself had explicitly not sought out Risi, and Risi had originally only come to the Kyuumu clan compound to complete a debriefing on what he'd learned; if this was a set-up by the Inshi family, it was far too good for him to believe it, and Takame was the heir himself. The Inshi family would never have willingly put him in danger of meeting with someone they might have suspected of being a double agent. In a sense, both were safe from double-crossing from the other in this case.

He's honestly a bit surprised that the Raikage is mentioned as a potential ally in their escape, and while he's slightly nervous about potentially having to meet with someone of such a high rank himself. Thankfully, he keeps his misgivings entirely hidden, a skill he's learned over a long period of time. The fact that he was utilizing training given to him by the Inshi family in order to fool the Inshi family themselves struck him as quite ironic, and so he uses that to hide his real surface emotions.

After being given his orders, he nods quickly and with a kind of ditzy energy before giving him a playful and silly-looking salute, complete with a wink of his right eye as his top hat tips just a bit to the left side with the rapid movement of his arm.

"You got it boss, I'll go straight on over to the Ryujin clan compound!"

Despite the ditziness of his voice, his left eye is clear and earnest, letting Takame know that his message is received loud and clear; while he would actually go straight to the Ryujin clan compound, his plan was to go there exclusively to throw off the Inshi family; he'd have to go and visit the Raikage herself another time, but it shouldn't be too difficult to get in to see her. Then he seems to realize that Takame hadn't actually given him any kind of message to relay to the Raikage, and so he wonders how he should word it before he asks quite simply and up-front. After all, he'd be throwing the Inshi family off the trail of the Raikage anyways.

"You don't have to call me boss," Takame mutters looking back down to the ground thinking of how this plan could easily go wrong. So he would need to keep some of his plans a secret from even Risi, but at the very least he could give instructions that were vague that he could manipulate if things went south. Though he held hope this could work out as planned. Not that he had a full plan anyway just yet because despite Takame being someone who thought things through this was something that had too many variables to be foolproof.[break][break] When Risi would then ask him what to tell the Raikage Takame smacked his head. Of course, he would need to think of a message how stupid was he not to give more information to his impromptu messenger? He would sit for a moment and ponder how he was going to word this. It had to be simple enough to get the idea across but also said in a way that a spy wouldn't be able to understand the meaning of it from face value. Thinking about how the clan used the birds and how they cared for them he figured this would be an interesting way to get his point across. "Tell them there is a big storm brewing and the crows are getting restless. Requesting aid to shelter those too fragile to fly," Takame would say feeling slightly proud of his wordplay as it was something the clan did after all with the local bird population of sheltering them during a storm so using it as a cover to ask for help him out was in his mind ingenious. Takame wasn't the type to be worried about things very often, but for once in his life he felt a sense of danger in what he was doing and fear could end up forcing his hand sooner than later. Risi smiles brightly when Takame asks him not to call him boss, but he knows that it would come off as odd if a lower ranking member of the Kyuumu didn't refer to the heir in some way that was clearly subservient. Still, he'd just have to refrain from it for now, if only to keep Takame from feeling uncomfortable. He waits somewhat impatiently for an answer to what he should give as a message to the Raikage, but at least Takame seemed to understand his intention to throw the Inshi family off the scent of who he was actually going to meet. Even if the Inshi family wasn't suspicious of either of them, the less suspicion they can bring upon themselves before this plan goes into action, the better off they'll both be.

He has to admit that the few precious seconds spent thinking had clearly been worthwhile, because the message he's told to relay is really quite clever. Risi is at least able to interpret the hidden meaning under the statement, and so he'll be able to relay it either in a similar code, or outright tell the Raikage the direct message if they happen to end up in a position where they're capable of discussing things in total privacy. The Genin nods, jauntily, twice for Takame to see that he understood the message and its underlying meaning, giving him another goofy-looking salute.

"You got it!~ I'll head off to the Ryujin compound right away!~"

With that, the other Kyuumu turns right around and runs off towards the Ryujin compound. It really was easy enough to deliver the fake, innocent-sounding message to the Ryujin, which would completely throw off any Inshi family member that might have thought their meeting suspicious; after all, it would seem that he'd just done as he was told, but Risi could turn right around and deliver the real message he'd received from Takame to the Raikage. Risi had certainly earned his position as an apprentice to the spymaster for the Inshi family, but that in no way made him loyal to the family, even if their training had been helpful; he had someone he loved in Kumogakure now, and he couldn't risk the clan's paranoia causing a rift between the two of them.

Even if some of his family members would likely be removed, he'd rather be with his new family, anyway.
