The sounds of water cascading over each other in a race down a gravity-based fall masked the sound of a pen writing on a notebook. The writing was frantic but what was written was clear. It wasn't she was unaware nor did she refuse, the white haired Kunoichi knew she held the position of a team leader and that her duty was being called. But with a maelstrom of orders, power vacancies, and people seemingly just gone, Kunikunosaku had to work overtime just to make sure the village seemed safe for her to not care. It was odd, never had the village felt fragile but recently, it seemed like something was missing and the Mikatakujira didn't know what. Focusing back to the task at hand, Kunikunosaku let the words fall like the nearby waters. She was definitely taking a more personal approach to convey her expectations to Wabisuke Kei and Oborozuki Sei, the new members in her team. She decided to write each of them a letter, requesting their presence at the village gates of Takigakure for an important meeting.

The Kunoichi nodded as she traversed to the gate guard. As she neared the guard, the Mikatakujira explained and called how she needed letters to be sent for a planned meeting. The female shinobi proceeded to prepare for the next day's meeting well into the day and throughout the coming night. She wanted their meeting to go well, especially since Sei was also from his clan.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

Kei opened the door to two letters being delivered, one being addressed to him and the other to Sei. Upon closer inspection, the envelopes seemed identical down to the handwriting and them both being from the same person, their new team leader. The only differences between the 2 were who they were addressed to. He opened his to read and set hers on the counter next to him. "Well, if the letters are as similar as the envelopes they arrived in, we are both being summoned to the front gates first thing tomorrow for a fun little team meeting. Hope you're ready for some new friends, though you know I will be there for you as well. I guess we will see how well they play with an assassin and a reptile." After going over the letters with Sei, Kei went out to his small greenhouse out back to harvest the poison from his venom glands and fill up all his vials with it to be on hand for the next week. He spent the rest of the day cleaning his coat and making sure the rest of his uniform was spotless, wanting to start off with a good impression for the day to come.

Sei stood behind the wall at the sound of the knock her breath catching in her chest. It was to soon for her clan to be back bugging her. When Kei came around the corner with two letters she let her breath return to normal. She took the letter addressed to her sitting down on the couch as she read it. "You know I don't need any friends my love as long as you're by my side I have all I'll ever need." The letter was nothing special but she did appreciate their new Team Leader reaching out to them to arrange a first meeting. She leaned back letting her head hand over the arm of the couch. To be honest it was nice to have some order instead of being sent on random missions alone. She watched Kei walk outside her vision upside down. He was heading to his "reptile room" their little shed outside. He must have been extracting venom from himself, the act made Sei shiver so he did it outside in the shed. She sat up grabbing the pack of cigarettes off the table opening before stepping outside her self. That night she made sure her special mask was sitting on the bedside table. She had decided to bring it tomorrow since they might have been leaving the village. No matter the distance from the walls she always kept her identity a secret. A passing commoner seeing her face once could ruing the chance at an assassination later. Sei looked out the window to the moon lighting up the sky before rolling over pressing her face into Kei's back.

Spending the day meticulously preparing for the upcoming trip, Kunikunosaku found herself wrestling with conflicting sentiments regarding her team dynamics. It was still roughly 14 hours until they were to meet the next morning, however, Kunikunosaku may be the only kunoichi in all of Takigakure history to be able to afford to wait like this. Once it was about two hours from the proposed meeting time, Kunikunosaku would more obviously appear by the gate but until then, she was fine with hiding in a nearby alley until then.

Kei made sure to wake up about five hours before the meeting, making sure he had time to go check his venoms, make sure his suit was clean and clean off anything he might have found on it, and get breakfast started before Sei woke up for the day. He made sure to pack what vials of poison were ready, not expecting to use them but always having at least a couple on hand just in case something happened. After going back in, Kei got changed into his normal attire without the vest, and went to set his coat on the couch, waiting to put it on before they left. He walked into the kitchen knowing she would be waking up soon, put on an apron, making sure to keep his outfit clean, and started on breakfast, making them both an omelette full of bacon, ham, and cheese with two pancakes each on the side. He made sure to time it so it would be ready but still warm when she woke up. Once they were done eating, he cleaned up the kitchen while she was getting ready. He knew she didnt usually take long and used the time to make sure his older poisons didnt go bad, inspect the rest of his gear, and finish packing up. Once he completed packing, he put on his red coat he was known for wearing around the village, completing his look with his taki headband tied to his arm.
