[Netsu Souran]

Souran was furious. Wasn't the entire point of having higher ranking shinobi was for them to be tasked with babysitting kids and helping them with their training? So why in the hell was he having to take on this responsibility? Sure, the genin was decent in a couple areas but he lacked the temperament to be patient with academy students who were still learning to not fall over themselves. He had protested, tried to ignore the orders and eventually been threatened with punishment before finally agreeing to help out. The last thing he wanted to deal with was word reaching those in his clan and making his already tough life that much more difficult.

So here he was, standing around at the training grounds with an absolute scowl on his face waiting for this Touwa kid to show up so they could get this over with. Apparently he needed help training the amount of chakra he could use which admittedly was tricky but there were methods to get it done; the most common of which was near exhausting one's self and continuing to push past those limits. Souran had been put through similar paces when he was younger and he was all the better for it considering his skillset. He wouldn't have been anywhere near as proficient with his air tubes with an average amount of chakra, and there was still plenty of room for improvement so perhaps the genin would use this opportunity to get some practice in as well.

Touwa approached the training grounds with a composed demeanor, his posture reflecting the disciplined upbringing he had received as a member of the Tokonatsu clan. As he neared Souran, he couldn't help but notice the simmering frustration evident on the older shinobi's face. Suppressing a sigh, Touwa plastered on a polite smile, masking the disdain he felt for being assigned such an inferior mentor.

"Good day, Netsu-san," Touwa greeted with a courteous nod, his voice dripping with feigned sincerity. "I trust you're well."

He could practically taste the bitterness in the air as Souran responded with a curt nod, and Touwa couldn't resist a small smirk at the man's obvious irritation. After all, it was rather amusing to see someone of lesser lineage struggle to conceal their disdain in the presence of true nobility.

"My apologies for any inconvenience my tardiness may have caused," Touwa continued, his tone laced with subtle sarcasm. "I'm sure your time is far too valuable to waste waiting for someone of my... stature."

Touwa's words hung in the air, thick with unspoken superiority, as he waited for Souran's response. He knew full well that he possessed a natural talent and pedigree that far surpassed that of most shinobi, and he saw no reason to hide it, especially from someone as beneath him as Souran.

In time the young student would make his appearance and perhaps blinded by his rage at being assigned to play babysitter Souran didn't notice the feigned niceness that the kid was showing. He was polite and even a bit too formal but that mattered little for what they were about to get into. "Souran works just fine." The genin replied absolving Touwa any need to speak that damned family's name out loud. He'd listen as the boy would give a de facto apology for taking up his time when there were plenty of other things that it could have been used for, which technically was true but making the kid feel like a burden wasn't on his checklist of things to do.

"Still plenty of time left in the day. We'll get through this and go about our business." Souran replied as he worked to shift the features on his face to something a tad more gentle. "So you're wanting to increase the amount of chakra you can use at any given time, huh? Only way to push past those limits is to hit your limit to begin with, so start by using the clone technique twice, three clones the first time and six the next." He was assuming the kid even knew the jutsu but surely he had to have picked up something from the academy by now, right? Even if the clones weren't the best looking the chakra would be expended nonetheless.

Touwa listened to Souran's instructions with a polite nod, though inwardly, he couldn't help but roll his eyes at the simplicity of the task. Of course, he was well aware of the clone technique; after all, even the most basic academy student could perform it. But he supposed he shouldn't expect much from someone like Souran, who likely lacked the refined skills and intellect of a true shinobi.

"Thank you, Souran-san," Touwa replied with practiced civility, masking the underlying sarcasm in his tone. "Your guidance is truly invaluable."

Suppressing a smirk, Touwa formed the necessary hand seals and summoned forth three clones, each one a perfect replica of himself. They stood beside him obediently, awaiting further instruction as Touwa focused his chakra, preparing to push past his limits.

"Shall we proceed, then?" Touwa asked, gesturing toward the clones with exaggerated politeness. "I wouldn't want to keep you from more important matters, after all."

With that, Touwa finished gathering his chakra to perform the technique once more, this time summoning six identical copies of himself. As the clones dispersed into puffs of smoke, Touwa felt the familiar rush of chakra drain from his reserves. But he was determined to push himself further if only to prove to Souran—and perhaps to himself—that he was more than capable of mastering this task.

[Netsu Souran]

The kid's sweetness was going to give Souran a cavity and it was borderline annoying, but years worth of degradation at the hand of his family meant that he'd be less the wiser when it came to noticing the sarcastic undertones. The genin would watch as Touwa executed the bunshin technique without issue and following his directions to the letter, and then once more with the increased amount of clones. While it wasn't part of the exercise Souran did notice that there was no flaw with them, a product of decent training no doubt. The student would ask --though it sounded more like telling-- if it was time to move onto the next part of the exercise and indeed it was.

Being an academy student Souran was pretty sure he could have just put the boy through the paces of all the academy techs a few times over and called it a day, but he had been presented with a rare opportunity of having a live target with which to practice and truth be told some of the basic techniques were boring as all hell and wouldn't help much with what the pair were trying to accomplish. "Indeed we shall. Prepare the replacement technique and dodge my attacks." Souran replied as he worked to put a bit of distance between the two of them.

With a few meters gap between Souran and Touwa the genin would raise both of his arms, the opening to his air tubes aimed directly at the student. Channeling futon natured chakra to his arms the genin would release a stream of pressurized wind in Touwa's direction that would no doubt send the kid tumbling back a ways if he didn't replace himself with something in the area.

Assuming the student did as told Souran would look about the area until he spotted him and released another blast, and would continue to repeat the process a couple more times. Normally that technique would take a bit longer to set up but the young Netsu wasn't attacking with any kind of true haste to give Touwa time to prepare, though the attacks would still hurt if he failed to get out the way at any point.

Touwa maintained his outward facade of politeness, though inwardly, he couldn't help but feel a surge of elitist disdain towards Souran's simplistic exercises. Honestly, did this Genin truly think Touwa needed basic instruction in evasion techniques? It was insulting, to say the least.

As Souran unleashed his barrage of wind-based attacks, Touwa couldn't suppress a derisive scoff. Dodging elementary wind jutsu was hardly a challenge for someone of his caliber. With a roll of his eyes, he sidestepped the first blast with practiced ease, barely exerting himself. Nonetheless, the rush of wind brushed against his skin.

"Touwa, stop being so overconfident!" Taki exclaimed. "Seriously, if he's struggling with this, maybe he should just stick to tea ceremonies," Rui interjected, his tone laced with sarcasm, as always his lifeblade was never on the same page.

Quickly assessing his surroundings, Touwa spotted a nearby log, his key to survival in this exercise. With swift precision, he executed the necessary hand seals for the replacement technique, channeling his chakra to switch places with the log just as Souran unleashed another gust of wind.

If the switch was successful the log, would be now in Touwa's place, bearing the brunt of the attack, shattering into splinters under the force of the wind. Meanwhile, Touwa would reappear a safe distance away, his heart racing with adrenaline as he prepared for the next onslaught.

A brow raised at seeing the kid side step the incoming blast of wind instead of substituting himself with something in the area. Were the instructions unclear or... did Touwa not know the jutsu? Well that would have been awkward and definitely something the young student should have spoke up about before they began the exercise. Perhaps this would turn into a teaching lesson if that truly were the case which Souran had mixed feelings about but the kid needed to learn it at some point as everything couldn't be sidestepped. Granted, it would have been funny to see him go tumbling across the training field if he tried to keep it up.

Thankfully the kid had shown that he was able to use the technique on their next go around and where Touwa had once been standing was now a decent sized log that soon became little more than splinters on the ground. A small smirk crossed Souran's face at the sight; he knew he had power but just needed to get stronger and then he'd be able to show everyone in his clan that he was more than worthy to call himself a Netsu.

A quick look around would locate Touwa and without another word between them the genin would take aim and loose another blast of pressurized air expecting the same result. He'd keep this up for a few minutes to get the boy to start burning through his chakra so they could get to the real fun. What they were doing now may have seemed pedantic and to a degree it was considering the student was... well, just that. He was nowhere near advanced enough to do any kind of real training so all things considered Souran had to take it easy on him, but there were still ways to train without going full out.

As the exercise wore on, Touwa began to feel the strain of his chakra reserves depleting. Each substitution drained him more than the last, and he could sense his energy waning with each passing moment. A bead of sweat formed on his brow as he dodged yet another attack, the effort leaving him breathless.

Despite his growing fatigue, Touwa refused to show any signs of weakness. He gritted his teeth and pushed himself to his limits, determined to prove his superiority to Souran and anyone else watching. Touwa continued, his movements becoming more sluggish as his chakra reserves dwindled. With each dodge, he felt his strength slipping away, until finally, he found himself gasping for air, his body trembling from exertion.

It would have been easy to send the boy flying with a bit stronger of a technique, especially with his response time becoming longer with each back and forth, but that wasn't what Souran was here to do. Pushing Touwa to the point of exhaustion was the name of the game and while it was admirable that the kid was trying his hardest to keep this up it wouldn't be long until his substitution failed, then the true training could begin. Actually... why wait? The genin was getting a little bored of sending menial puffs of wind and he had a hunch that Touwa was probably tired of using the same technique ad nauseam. Well, not that it was going to change but maybe a little spice would make things a little monotonous for the boy.

Pulling out a handful of shuriken from his pouch the Netsu took aim at the boy, the thought of him grabbing some training weaponry beforehand darting through his head but oh well, no time for that now! Besides, so long as the kid didn't snitch then everything would be fine. "Alright, time to switch it up a bit. Push yourself or this is gonna hurt." Souran spoke before throwing the shuriken towards Touwa. But that wasn't all! He'd raise his hands and loose a blast of wind increasing the speed of the projectiles. They'd be on the boy a whole lot quicker than usual and if he let his fatigue get the better of him he was gonna end up looking like a training dummy.

Touwa's muscles ached as he strained to maintain his composure, his mind racing to keep up with Souran's ever-changing tactics. As the shuriken whistled through the air, propelled by the force of Souran's wind jutsu, Touwa's heart skipped a beat. This was it, the moment he had been waiting for – the true test of his abilities.

Touwa's breath hitched as he saw the final onslaught of shuriken hurtling towards him, propelled by the gusts of wind. With his chakra reserves dwindling and his body already pushed to its limits, he knew he had to act fast.

With a swift series of hand seals, Touwa executed the substitution jutsu once more, disappearing in a puff of smoke as the shuriken closed in on his previous location. In his place stood a nearby training dummy, its wooden frame bearing the brunt of the incoming assault.

As the shuriken embedded themselves into the dummy with a series of dull thuds, Touwa reappeared a few feet away, his chest heaving with exertion. Sweat dripped down his brow as he struggled to catch his breath, his muscles screamed in protest, the strain of maintaining the substitution technique taking its toll on his already depleted chakra reserves.

"Is that all you've got?" Touwa's voice rang out, tinged with defiance. "Come at me with everything you've got, Netsu-san. I'm ready for more."

Yet, Touwa's knees gave out as he collapsed to the ground.

Souran could tell the boy was about ready to keel over from all the chakra he had been using, a hefty amount in rapid succession no less, and part of him wondered if the kid would have the strength necessary to avoid becoming a human pin cushion? The genin watched as Touwa replaced himself just in time as the wind aided shuriken came to rest embedded in a training dummy. While not the most fun sight it was the one that came with the least amount of explanation as it would be much easier to explain why the kid was exhausted compared to why he returned home with a bunch of puncture wounds.

A brow raised at the command for more training, a ballsy request that nearly elicited a response from the Netsu as he was always ready to show what he could truly do with the air tubes, yet just as quickly as the student spoke he was on the ground about ready to pass out. Dumbass kid. "Maybe after a couple days rest, I doubt you can even see straight." Souran replied as he walked over to Touwa. "You were consistent in your techniques and pushed yourself when it really counted, so you got that going for you. Don't lay out here too long, otherwise the crocs will think you're dinner."

With that Souran would turn to leave, his assigned duty now complete leaving him free to.. well, take a breather himself. Using his techniques over and over had fatigued him more than he had let on and truth be told a nap sounded really good right about now.


Tokonatsu Touwa

Touwa's body was protesting against every movement, but he knew he couldn't push himself any further. He collapsed back onto the ground, closed his eyes and felt the cool grass beneath him. Souran's words echoed in his mind, urging him to rest, and for once, he knew he had to comply.

"Maybe... you're right," Touwa managed to say between ragged breaths, reluctantly accepting the advice. "I'll... I'll call it a day."

With a heavy sigh, Touwa forced himself to relax, allowing the weariness to wash over him like a comforting blanket. He knew he had pushed himself to his limits, and perhaps even beyond, but he also knew the importance of knowing when to rest.

As he lay there, surrounded by the sounds of nature, Touwa couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Despite his exhaustion, he had faced the challenge head-on, pushed himself to new heights, and learned valuable lessons along the way.

With a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips, Touwa closed his eyes and let himself drift off into a much-needed slumber. Tomorrow would be another day, another opportunity to train and grow stronger. But for now, he allowed himself to simply rest, knowing that he had given it his all.

The Araikettei clan's KKG allows the user to obtain and wield the Life Blade - Ruiteki. The blade has its own consciousness and is capable of acting on its own. Regardless, Touwa and his Life Blade are inextricably linked to life and death. When one dies, the other dies, and thus anyone who is not Touwa is unable to wield the weapon.

After investing a significant amount of time Touwa has achieved an understanding of his lifeblade. As a result, he has unlocked the ability to establish communication with them. This newfound connection enables Touwa to effectively manipulate and mold the lifeblade according to his desires. Harnessing the power of the Araikettei clan's hijutsu, Touwa now possesses the capability to skillfully utilize various techniques through the embodiment of Ruiteki itself.
