Today was the day when everything could turn on his head. The day in which Koki started his first day as the new Kazekage's assistant and also the day where he first gets to meet his father face to face. He had withheld this information when he applied for the position and outside of his mother no one knew he was related to him. So it was a bit nerve-racking if he was honest to approach this stranger of a man, but if he did this right maybe he could get to know his father and change the political structure of Suna for the Katsue's benefit. It could be a win-win situation for all involved he just needed to open this door.[break][break]

After a few seconds of calming any nerves inside himself, Koki would gently knock upon the Kazekage's door before pushing it open and entering. "Sir," Koki would say giving him a bow as he entered to show him respect for his position before handing him the scroll with his information with his reason for being there. It was most likely he had already been previously briefed about his new assistant and the fact that Koki was, but he felt it was important to give that information to him himself just as a courtesy.

[Chikamatsu Kiyoshi]

     A good breeze was blowing through the village today. The shutters and the windows had been opened in the Kazekage's office and Kiyoshi was enjoying himself, despite the subject material. As was expected of him, as had been of his two prior predecessors, he was reading up on the entire diplomatic history of Tori no Kuni and Tsuchi no Kuni.

     He heard the door open and a man's voice greeted him. Kiyoshi looked up from the page on Shakar with his usual smile, but was unexpectedly silent for a moment. The face of the younger man, in his mid-20s, gave him pause - he looked oddly familiar, though he could not place it.

     "Thank you." he finally said as he accepted the offered scroll. Opening it, he saw the name at the top. Ah. "Katsue Koki. My new assistant, yes? I've heard good things from your sensei. Chuunin Exams of 1013? 1014?" He said with a grin and pondering hand gesture. "Welcome aboard."

     A personal introduction on his part was unnecessary, perhaps, but he gave one all the same. "Chikamatsu Kiyoshi," he said with a small bow of his head. "it's good to meet you. I'd typically offer that we grab food, but as you can see -" he motioned to the stacks of paper that coated the table. "- I'm rather swamped at the moment. And if you're going to be my right hand man, you've got plenty to learn as well." The fact that that was what he expected of his assistant went unsaid.

     "Yet I'd be remiss to do away with any questions. I often find I don't work well with strangers." he gestured to the smaller desk against the wall. "Pull up a chair, Koki. Tell me a little about yourself. Says..." He glanced down at the scroll. "you spent a few years in Kusagakure as an ambassador?"

Kiyoshi was very talkative to Koki who was used to others being a lot more verbal than he was. It was a familiar situation he was used to all his life growing up since he wasn't much to speak his mind or say much even more so since he departed from Kusagakure. So he let Kiyoshi steer the conversation as he deemed fit. Which was fine since he was to be assisting him anyway so simply following the commands the Kazekage gave just seemed appropriate to Koki.[break][break]

"Katsue Koki," he would respond in turn to the introduction of his father's name which Koki knew before coming here. Kiyoshi would then point towards the paperwork piling up around him while also apologizing about not being able to take him out for food which honestly hit a rather sore spot to Koki. After all that was how he got his mother to get with him that night so it felt a sorta weird parallel to Koki. "Of course sir," he would say nodding at the paperwork knowing full well he was probably gonna be playing secretary for Kiyoshi most of the time.[break][break]

Now came the part Koki was dreading a bit. The questioning. This was practically another round of interviews that he would need to undergo and speaking didn't come that easily for him. Granted he was a political ambassador for Suna to Kusa during his time living there, but even then he had others who helped him get his thoughts across so he rarely had to speak for himself, but in this current moment, he was alone and would need to do it himself. "Correct," Koki would say simply at first letting his words sit for a second before attempting to add more, "Made interpersonal connections there," Koki said trying not to think too hard of the relationship that fell apart there which gave the reason for his return, but his eyes did wander when he said this which might have given away his thoughts.

     At interpersonal connections - an odd phrase to use, he thought - Kiyoshi looked up at his new assistant, saw his wandering eyes, and followed them for a moment, seeing nothing worth noting on that side of the office. "Ah," he laughed. "that makes two." With a slight smile and a chuckle, he recalled the blond shinobi he'd met there on his last visit. Quite the place, Kusagakure, but a woman of a dignified age there seemed a rarity.

     Sunagakure was much better for that, and most else, but everywhere in the world had its' delicacies. "Well, it's good to have you back. The wind always seems to bring us back, no matter how long we've been gone." Kiyoshi slid open a drawer on the right side, pulled out a small map and unfurled it over the desk. "Of late, geopolitics has occupied my time the most. I'm sure, as an ambassador, you understand how complicated that can get."

     The Kazekage dragged a finger over the border nations - Kawa no Kuni, Arashi, Ishi, Tori, Na. "Takato gets the big stuff, now, but smaller letters of courtesies still require my name." Kiyoshi smiled at him. "Pick it up and it'll be your name too," he said before trailing into a tangent about history, and how letters are often the only things that remain, and Koki's name would be on them, and on and on.

     Clearing his throat, he finally said anyway and put the map away, replacing it with a more generic stack of paperwork regarding trade deals and shipments, and another regarding village missions. "In the meantime, these mostly require a signature and little else."

     When Koki'd gotten comfortable and begun the mindless tedium, Kiyoshi resumed with the questioning. "Was your mother or your father a Katsue?" he asked before spilling into a tangent about which historical 'line' of the clan he'd come from - even mentioning the war of 912, complete with a mock apology on his clan's behalf.
