A new day brought new opportunities and experiences and the dawn did not disappoint. With a substantial amount of academy students progressing rather well in their studies the powers at be saw fit that they begin to take classes on more practical matters aside from the usual ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu that they were being taught day in and day out. No, today would be something more specialized but still just as important: fuinjutsu. Funnily enough the village did have a good number of sealing specialists yet with Takato now in his well deserved retirement and Arashi busy dealing with military matters the call had come to Asahi to lend a hand, which he was more than happy to.

The Kyokujitsu had given tutelage to quite a few younger shinobi over the years and had danced with the idea of wanting to lead a team of his own before deciding to remain as a bodyguard for Kiyoshi-sama so he was no stranger to it, but this would be the first time he was doing so in an actual classroom setting. He was to demonstrate and lecture in front of a decent sized group which was also first and ensuring that the students' attention could be held was definitely something that made him a little nervous. Alas, fuinjutsu in its variety did have a participatory element to it which Asahi would no doubt rely on.

Sliding open the door to what he assumed would be a room full of students the man would give a slight bow. "Good morning, everyone. My name is Kyokujitsu Asahi and I'll be leading your class today." He'd make his way over to the table sat in the front of the room before placing down a couple stacks of blank sealing tags along with an assortment of ink pots and brushes. On the blackboard behind him the special jounin would write out his name along with the word "Fuinjutsu" underneath.

"Today we'll be learning about the sealing art of fuinjutsu. To start us off, tell me a little about what you know of it." An open question to the class at large that he expected to receive a variety of answers from, including none at all. They were still young and the complexity of fuinjutsu was off putting to a lot of people so there was a good chance most of them didn't know much.

Sure...Maybe she wasn't supposed to be here since she passed her Genin Exam. But one more lesson never hurt anybody. Especially since it was on a topic that she wanted to know more about. Especially if it was coming from her big bro, cousin Asahi. Slithering her way into the classroom, she'd tip toe her way through as if she was on a secret spy mission. Even though she used the Henge jutsu to look like someone entirely different. Namely, Aeru Nayu. She'd even gotten a bamboo mouthguard to buy into the ruse, and would seat herself along a corner. Looking out through the window. All she had to do was not talk? Easy right?

Besides. So long as Aeru herself didn't show up. It'd be fiiiiine!~ "Hmp!" She says, and then murmurs into the mouth piece as if she was explaining what she knew in serious depth. This really was kind of a curse of sorts though. Because for the first time in Senshi's life, she couldn't do one of the things she loved doing the most. Talking. Kicking her legs back and forth, she closed her eyes and smiled, seemingly very bubbly and happy in these moments. After all. Getting some extracurricular training and maybe learning a new technique? Wouldn't that be heckin' flippin' fantastical?!

DESCRIPTION:
After performing the necessary hand seals, the user transforms their appearance to become that of another person, animal or even an inanimate object. This is considered one of the most advanced academy techniques, as it requires a constant emission of chakra as well as a constant mental focus to maintain the technique; suffering moderate pain or severe distractions will cause the technique to falter.

Shinobi are limited to transforming into objects roughly their size and their mass remains unaffected. Furthermore, this transformation is purely a shift in their physical appearance, conveying no specialized abilities of the person, animal, or object to the user upon their transformation. Transforming into a wolf does not grant a more keen nose nor would changing into a bear grant a sudden increase in strength.

Eiji settled among his fellow academy students, his size had become a regular oddity among the young students. To Eiji, the ritual of taking notes, a practice encouraged earnestly by his senseis, presented itself as curious and humorous. Why undermine the reliability of one’s memory with the clutter of ink and paper? Nevertheless, with a sense of playful conformity, he would transcribe the lecture into his notebook. The reliance on written words to anchor knowledge seemed peculiar to him. How could one truly absorb wisdom if it must first be entrapped on a page? [break][break]

On this day, the lesson was on the basics of fuuinjutsu, courtesy of Asahi Sensei. To Eiji, the art was unfamiliar so it warranted his undivided attention. In the desert, lessons were imparted once; one either grasped them with both hands or watched them dissolve into the sands. The thought of failing to grasp every detail, thus disappointing his mentor and tarnishing their honour, was unthinkable. For Eiji, the prospect of causing dishonour, not just to oneself but to another, was a haunting concern. Personal shame was one thing, manageable and direct, but to bear the weight of another's disappointment was an entirely different challenge.[break][break]

When Asahi Sensei encouraged questions, Eiji chose silence, his grasp of the subject too tenuous to offer meaningful insight. Yet, he couldn't help but find humour in this idea of reaching for answers. This method of instruction, which laid everyone's gaps in knowledge bare, struck him as an oddly harsh form of amusement. It was a peculiar form of teaching, one that he observed with amusement. Despite his inner reservations about the method's effectiveness, he held back his critiques, acknowledging that adapting to these foreign ways of learning and teaching was part of his new life.

Kanae sat attentively in the classroom with his heightened senses attuned to the subtle sounds around him. As one and the only blind student in the academy, he had huge difficulty in learning and advancing as a student, and today lesson was the same. In the world made for those who can see, he had to rely on his other senses to navigate it, or maybe his best friend Nayu to help her.

Before Kanae could initiate his echolocation sensing to locate his best friend in the classroom, the arrival of the teacher interrupted his focus. Only upon the introduction did Kanae realise the presence of a new part-time instructor. Today's lesson, as it unfolded, revealed a focus on fuinjutsu. Although Kanae couldn't visually perceive what the teacher wrote on the board, the subject became apparent through the subsequent introduction.

When Asahi posed the question regarding their understanding of fuinjutsu, Kanae hesitated momentarily. He had delved into books detailing the intricate patterns and symbols of the art. The concept of using seals to manipulate chakra and invoke powerful attack or effect fascinated him, yet he held back from responding. Currently, his priority was locating Nayu because without her assistance, navigating the class would be impossible for him.

Nayu sat among the group of academy students in the front of the classroom, as her inability to speak and the use of the sand to communicate meant that the teacher had to be close enough to see the words and sentences the sand was forming. Her attention was fully on Asahi, whom she was already familiar with from their previous one-on-one training session, as he introduced himself and began the class on fuuinjutsu. She was eager to learn something new, especially since being an Aeru meant that she was to manipulate sand and even Nayu knew that outside of the Kaze no Kuni sand was not something so widespread and available in the same quantities, fuuinjutsu could solve this problem.

As her back was turned to the rest of the classroom Nayu was oblivious to the shenanigans that were happening behind her, such as a fake Nayu in the classroom, Kanae who was searching for her, or her cousin Eiji being in the classroom.

As Asahi posed the question about their knowledge of fuuinjutsu, Nayu couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. She had read about it in books and heard passing mentions from other shinobi, nonetheless, her understanding was still quite basic. Raising her hand tentatively, Nayu let her sand speak for her when called upon. "Um, I know that fuuinjutsu involves using seals to manipulate and control chakra in various ways. It's like a form of complex jutsu that requires precise control and understanding of symbols, right?"

There was a near silent murmur among the students as they thought over his question, most too unsure to give an answer either out of not knowing or not wanting to be wrong in front of the rest of the class. Asahi couldn't blame them seeing as how fuinjutsu was so varied and specific at the same time that it was tough to succinctly narrow down its uses. Scanning the room the man would come across a most interesting sight: two Nayu, though one was missing a crucial detail to make their ruse believable. The chakra signature coming from the faux student was very familiar garnering a raised brow from the Kyokujitsu. He hadn't expected to see Senshi today and well technically he still wasn't so unless the girl decided to cause a problem he'd let her do as she pleased.

As for the true Nayu her sand to give a decent explanation of the field. "Very good, Nayu. At it's core fuinjutsu is about creating complex formulas that have a variety of uses. Some are as simple as the exploding notes you'll one day be able to use, others allow you to seal jutsu, break free of genjutsu, or lay traps that you don't have to be near to set off, though one of my favorite uses for it is crowd control which I'll demonstrate for you."

Stepping to the center of the room Asahi would perform three seals before slapping both palms on the ground and from his epicenter an intricate, spherical pattern would appear and extend out ten meters which was plenty distance to cover most if not all of the students present. As the seal formed underneath them any whose feet were touching the ground would find them locked in place and if they touched the seal with any other body part it, too, would be stuck. "While not an attacking move by any means catching an opponent, or in this case opponents" He'd wave his hand at the class "off guard is a great way to set up a follow up move for you or your allies."

The Kyokujitsu would leave the seal up for a few moments more to let the students get a good look at the pattern and become familiar with the sensation before ending the technique allowing them egress. "Next we'll go over the different ways to create seals, but before that are there any questions?"

DESCRIPTION:
After three hand-seals, the user will slap both hands on the ground and summon an intricate spherical seal on the ground, ten meters in diameter, with the user at the epicenter. Anyone or anything standing on the ground within ten meters is then sealed to the ground itself, locking their feet in place. They will be stuck in place until the seal is broken, which can be achieved by destroying the ground it is summoned on. People who were not inside the range can move over the surface of the seal once it's been summoned without any issue.

Remaining quiet, mainly because she didn't have any other options, However, she listened fervently, that was, up until the real Nayu showed up. Oh dear. Now this was a bit of an awkward situation wasn't it? As she rest in place, she hoped that nobody was going to mind, as she found herself scribbling notes, as she looked at the seals in question. She wasn't sure if she quite had the finesse or patience to really sit down and draw all this stuff for real, as she was nver a real fan of caligraphy to begin with. However, considering all that? It was an interesting lecture.

Stealing a couple glances, she finds herself slowly twiddling with her fingers as she considers what to do now that she had this information. Or how long this lecture might go. She decided that she'd stay for a while longer, at least, long enough to get what she needed. After that, she could get the heck out of dodge and run to freedom. Besides. Nobody had called her out so far. Right? Which meant she must have been doing an awesome job at obscuring and hiding her identity. Or alternatively, people were just so grossly enamored in the lecture that nobody noticed her. Oh well. Best not take away from it all.

Eiji observed with keen interest as Asahi Sensei delicately wove the art of fuuinjutsu into being, his hand movements precise, summoning a seal beneath his touch. This was a realm of shinobi arts largely unfamiliar to Eiji; training in the deserts never ventured into these complex subjects. In the sands, combat skills were predominantly focused on taijutsu and the more simple applications of ninjutsu. [break][break]

The array of knowledge at the academy was both fascinating and overwhelming for Eiji. Every new technique, each distinct discipline, seemed vital, its potential clear. Yet many of his peers seemed to have already charted their paths, selecting areas to master with a focus that, to Eiji, seemed almost myopic. How could one justify such concentration on a single aspect of shinobi craft at the expense of others? With the unpredictability of life, versatility and breadth of knowledge were often what tipped the scales between standing and falling. [break][break]

When Asahi Sensei invited questions from the class, Eiji held his tongue. Although questions existed within him, he sensed that the lesson's natural course would unveil the answers. It wasn't his way to disrupt the flow of teaching with queries that might soon resolve themselves. The patience of the desert had been instilled in him, instead he was ready to absorb the wisdom of Asahi Sensei.

At first, Kanae found himself in a state of mild confusion as he scanned the room for Nayu's familiar presence. The sight of two individuals bearing a striking resemblance to Nayu in stature only added to the difficulty. Fortunately, this uncertainty didn’t last for long as Nayu's distinctive method of communication came to the rescue.

As Nayu employed her sand to convey messages to the teacher, Kanae's senses honed in on the subtle movements, immediately identifying the real Nayu among the students. Her use of sand, a unique and unmistakable trait, served as a beacon in the sea of students, guiding Kanae to her location with precision.

Confident in his deduction, Kanae descended the stairs with careful steps, ensuring minimal disruption to the classroom's atmosphere. Despite his best efforts to move silently, the low-frequency noises emitted by his movements were unavoidable. For Kanae, these subtle vibrations served as his eyes, allowing him to "see" his surroundings through echolocation.

Approaching Nayu, he settled beside her, his movements purposeful yet gentle. With a light poke, he leaned in slightly and asked for her guidance, seeking to understand the content written by the teacher. There was no way he could see how the fuuinjutsu looked like even with echolocation. However, if Nayu replicated the seal through her sands, the embossing and beveling would allow him to understand the pattern almost immediately.

Not wanting to waste this precious chance she raised her hand once more, her sand began to shift, shaping itself into the words she wished to convey. "Sensei," Nayu's sand spelled out, "could you please explain the process of creating fuuinjutsu seals? I'm curious about the techniques and materials involved in their construction."

As demonstrations went it was relatively smooth, a bit of shifting around for some to find better angles with which to observe, others taking an ample amount of notes but none of the students seemed out of sorts from the large sealing circle beneath them which was a good sign; the last thing Asahi wanted was for the kids to be afraid of what they were supposed to be learning about today. Granted, his interactions with a couple of the kids had squashed that possibility well beforehand: Senshi's brave and 'can-do' attitude left her afraid of little and Nayu's confidence would let little stand in her way.

Speaking of Kiyoshi's kid --or one of them, at least-- she posed the question of how seals were made, which was a perfect segue into the next part of the lesson. "Excellent question, Nayu. Part of fuinjutsu's versatility is their ability to be produced and placed virtually anywhere. The two most common ways of creating them is either through hand seals, like I just did, or drawing the seal onto a medium of some sort such as paper or some kind of solid surface, though there are also techniques that will let you create seals on moving surfaces such as water, but that's a lesson for another day."

From the desk Asahi would grab a handful of slips of paper and brushes that he'd quickly pass out to the class before making his way back to the chalkboard at the front of the room. "Now, for a little practice. I'm going to draw a sealing pattern up here and I want you guys to copy it best you can. This'll help you get an idea of the process for creating seals."

With the chalk in hand the Kyokujitsu would get to work on a familiar looking pattern that every shinobi could recognize even if they had no acumen for fuinjutsu and wouldn't be too difficult for the students to emulate.
